Community Advice I Think Is Dead Wrong29 Sep 202600:23:26

I've been building communities long enough to have watched the same advice get passed around for years. Same tips, same tactics, same confident posts from people who have never actually run the thing they're giving advice about. It circulates, somebody screenshots it, somebody turns it into a carousel, and eventually it just becomes what everybody knows. Most of it is fine. Some of it is good. But a decent chunk of it is flat out wrong, and I watch it make people's communities worse every single week. So today I'm naming it.

This one's for you if you've been dutifully posting daily, adding badges, building out fourteen spaces, and quietly wondering why none of it seems to be working. Good news. It's probably not you. It's the advice.

In this episode:

  • Why posting every day makes a quiet community worse, not better
  • What gamification actually rewards, and why your best member has 42 points
  • The density problem: why five people in fourteen spaces feels like a ghost town
  • Why "your community should run itself" is a bit of a lie, and what to aim for instead
  • The real cost of chasing engagement rate, and what to watch instead
  • The thread running through every piece of bad community advice

From Booked Out to Recurring: Turning a Service Business Into a Membership22 Sep 202600:20:36

You're booked out three months, and everyone keeps telling you what a good problem that is. Clients are happy, referrals keep coming, the work is good. But you know something they don't. You're completely out of room. Every dollar you make requires you to show up and make it, and if you want to earn more, the only lever you have is more hours, and you're already out of hours. You didn't build a business. You built a very demanding job that you happen to own, and there's a ceiling on it, and your head is pressed right up against it.

This one's for you if your service business is working and you still can't see a way out of trading hours for money. Good news. You're not starting from scratch. You already have the proof, the audience, and the repeatable process. You just never packaged it in a way that doesn't require your hours.

In this episode:

  • Why being booked out is not the same as being stable
  • The trap almost everyone falls into: building a discount agency instead of a membership
  • The advantages you already have that people starting from zero would kill for
  • The two models that work: the "before" membership and the "after" membership
  • Whether a membership will cannibalize your one-on-one work (mostly no, and here's why)
  • How to build it when you're already booked solid, and why you should never quit the client work first
  • The number that changes your life is smaller than the one you've been imagining

The Smallest Membership You Can Launch15 Sep 202600:21:09

There's a sentence that has quietly killed more memberships than any bad idea ever has: I just need to finish one more thing before I launch. It sounds so responsible. You're not procrastinating, you're preparing. But watch what happens to it over a few months. Just the welcome video. And the resource library. And I should probably record the whole first course. And the branding needs work, and all three tiers, and six months of content so I'm not scrambling. Suddenly it's been five months, the doors have never opened, and you're further from launching than when you started.

Your membership does not have to be done to launch. It probably shouldn't be. The version you open with should be dramatically smaller than the one in your head, and not as a sad compromise. Launching small is the smarter way to build the thing, because everything you make before you have members is a guess, and guesses are expensive.

In this episode:

  • The five things a membership actually needs on day one, and the long list you can skip entirely
  • Why founding members who help shape the thing become your most loyal people for years
  • How I'm doing exactly this right now, dripping my five-stage system out piece by piece and letting members tell me what to build next

ABOUT COMMUNITY AT HEART

What to Actually Charge for Your Membership (And Why Cheap Is Harder)08 Sep 202600:22:24

Everyone believes the same thing about pricing a membership: keep it low, more people will join, it's the kind and accessible thing to do. It feels obviously true. It's also the mistake that quietly costs founders their whole business. Because a cheap membership isn't the easy option, it's the hardest business to run. You need ten times the members to make the same money, and cheap members churn faster and care less, so you're stuck on a permanent treadmill of recruitment just to stay flat. I know this one from the inside. My community started as the Community Co-op at forty-seven dollars a month and I struggled to fill it. We pivoted to coCreator Society, grew it slowly and on purpose, and I still spent years underpriced. This week we're moving to ninety-seven dollars, and I'll walk you through exactly why.

This one's for you if you priced low to be generous and can't figure out why your membership feels so heavy to run. Good news. Charging more isn't greedy, it's often the thing that lets you serve people better, and your starting price was never meant to be permanent.

In this episode:

  • The math nobody runs: why a $9 membership needs 550 members and a $90 one needs 55 for the same revenue
  • Why cheap memberships churn harder, and how that traps you on a permanent sales treadmill
  • Pricing the outcome, not the pile of stuff, and why your number is a signal whether you mean it to be or not
  • Monthly versus annual, and the simple annual structure that helps your cash flow, retention, and members all at once
  • My real arc: the Community Co-op at $47, the Society, underpriced at $77, now moving to $97
  • Why your starting price isn't a tattoo, how to raise it by adding real value, and how grandfathering makes it a thank-you to your early members
  • The two-part homework that shows you exactly how hard your low price is making your own life

Stop Selling Access: What Your Membership Is Actually For01 Sep 202600:20:18

Get access to our full library of trainings. Monthly live calls. A private community. Exclusive resources. Templates, guides, downloads, plus direct access to me. That's a membership sales page. Actually, that's basically every membership sales page, and it's probably close to yours. And here's the uncomfortable thing about that list: not one line of it tells anyone what they'll actually get out of joining. It's a pile of features. Access, access, access. But nobody wakes up wanting access to a pile of stuff. People don't join for the trainings, they join for what the trainings are supposed to do for them, and when your whole pitch is the pile, you've skipped the only part that matters.

This one's for you if your sales page is a long list of everything that's inside and you can't figure out why it isn't converting or why people drift after a couple of months. Good news. The stuff isn't the problem, and it isn't the promise either. There's one core outcome hiding underneath everything you've built, and once you name it, your sales page, your retention, and the way you run the whole thing get clearer.

In this episode:

• Why a huge list of features reads as homework, not value, and the quiet reason we default to listing stuff

• What people are actually buying (the destination, never the car) and why the outcome keeps them from eyeing the exit

• The before-and-after exercise that reveals what your membership is really for

• Why vague transformations don't land, and the "what does that look like on a Tuesday?" trick for getting specific

• How the promise becomes a filter that tells you what to build and what to cut

• The "delete everything but the outcome" test for finding your one true north

• The one sentence to write this week that's more compelling than your entire current sales page

How to Validate a Membership Before You Build the Whole Thing25 Aug 202600:20:01

Let me tell you about the most expensive mistake I almost made, because I think a lot of you are about to make the exact same one. A few years back I had an idea for a membership and I was so sure about it. I could see the whole thing in my head, the spaces, the calls, the perfect little world. So I did what most of us do. I disappeared. I put my head down for months, built the community, recorded the trainings, designed the graphics, made this whole beautiful complete thing in a room by myself, talking to nobody. And then I opened the doors. Want to guess how many people I'd talked to about whether they actually wanted this before I built it? Zero. I built the whole restaurant before I checked whether anyone in town was hungry.

This one's for you if you've got a membership idea you've been quietly building in the dark, convinced that once it's done people will show up. Good news. You do not have to build the thing to find out if people want the thing, and building it is actually the worst possible way to find out. There's a smarter order of operations, and it will save you months of your life.

In this episode:

  • Why a clear picture in your head is not demand, and the gap where dreams quietly die
  • What you're actually testing (hint: it's actions, not compliments) and why "that sounds amazing" is worthless
  • Validation method one: real conversations, the questions that work, and who never to ask
  • Validation method two: one small paid workshop, and the after-signal that means "build it"
  • Validation method three: the pre-sell, why it isn't scammy, and how to decide your go/no-go number in advance
  • What to do when only a few people buy (a small yes is still a yes)
  • The sneaky reason we call it "building" when we're really hiding, and how to stop

Should You Even Start a Membership? An Honest Gut Check18 Aug 202600:20:28

Should you start a membership? I get asked this constantly. In my DMs, in my community, by people who corner me at events with a look that says they already know what they want me to say: yes, do it, recurring revenue, the dream, go. And sometimes that is my answer. But honestly, a lot of the time my real answer is hold on, not yet, or even, maybe not this and not for you and definitely not right now. Because a membership is not the automatic smart move just because it's the trendy one, and starting the wrong one, or the right one at the wrong time, is one of the most expensive and exhausting mistakes I see founders make. I run a membership and I help people build them, so I could easily just cheerlead this for everyone. Instead, I want to give you the honest gut check nobody hands you before you pour six months of your life into building one.

This one's for you if you've been feeling the pull to start a membership, everyone's telling you recurring revenue is the future, and something in your gut hasn't fully said yes yet. Good news. That hesitation is worth listening to. Five honest questions will tell you whether a membership is actually your move, a not-yet, or a sign you should be building something else entirely.

In this episode:

  • Question one: is the problem you solve ongoing, or one and done (and why this is the make-or-break gate)
  • Question two: do your people actually want each other, or do they just want you
  • Question three: the honest look at whether you want to show up, consistently, for years
  • Question four: why recurring revenue is not passive revenue, and the wrong reasons we all start memberships
  • Question five: whether a membership is even the right container, or a cohort, course, or mastermind fits better
  • What to do when the answers are yes, and why a "not yet" is not a no forever
  • Why this gut check matters more right now than it ever has

You Don't Have a Community, You Have a Digital Business (And That Changes Everything)11 Aug 202600:19:00

You know the moment. Someone asks what you do, you say you run an online community, and their face does the polite blank nod. So you start explaining. No, not a Facebook group. No, not a course, although there are courses in it. No, people pay to be there. No, I'm not a moderator, I built the whole thing, it's my actual business. And by the time you're done you've said the word "not" about nine times and they still think you run a group chat as a hobby. I did this exact dance for years, including on stage at Circle's Eclipse launch event, where I got asked what community I run and gave the tiny answer to a thimble of what I actually do. And then it hit me. The problem was never that people don't get it. The problem is the word. Community is the wrong word, and it's making us sell ourselves short.

This one's for you if you're tired of defending what your work is not, and quietly suspect it's a lot bigger than the word you keep using for it. Good news. There's a term people understand instantly, no fourteen clarifications required, and I'm willing to bet nine out of ten of you have already earned it: you're not running a community, you're running a digital business.

In this episode:

• Why "community" makes people picture something free and casual, and the real money that costs you

• The word swap that skips the entire "no, it's not a Facebook group" speech

• Why nine out of ten of us are already running more than a community and calling it the smallest possible thing

• The honest inventory: membership, courses, cohorts, a funnel, operations, with community in the middle

• How AI became part of how a digital business runs, with real examples from my own week

• Why "digital business" isn't cold, and how it actually protects the warm part

• The one-sentence change to make this week, and why now is the moment to claim the term

The Member Journey Map You Should've Built First04 Aug 202600:21:02

Here's a question that's going to sting a little. If I dropped a brand new member into your community right now and walked away, what would actually happen to them? Would they know where to go first? Would anyone notice they'd arrived? Or would they poke around, feel a little lost, tell themselves they'll dig in when things calm down, and then quietly never come back? When I launched my first community I obsessed over the inside of it. The spaces, the categories, the branding. And people kept joining with all this energy on day one and going silent within two weeks. I thought it was the content. It wasn't. I'd built a beautiful house with no path to the front door, and people were standing in the yard not sure how to get in.

This one's for you if your members arrive excited and disappear before they ever really land. You keep adding trainings and events trying to fix retention, and it isn't moving, because the problem was never the content. It's that nobody ever mapped the path a real human takes from the moment they join to the moment they'd run through a wall for you. Good news. It's not too late to build that map, even if your community has been running for years.

In this episode:

• The three stages every member moves through: join, active, and champion, and why each one needs a completely different thing from you

• Why almost all of us skip this step, and why it isn't laziness

• The first forty-eight hours fix that will do more for retention than any feature you could build

• Why connection, not content, is the actual product in the active stage

• How to turn quiet regulars into champions on purpose instead of hoping they rise up on their own

• Exactly how to build your member journey retroactively using the live data already sitting in your community

• The one thing to do this week: walk through your own front door like a stranger and see what your members see

Your Community Isn't a Content Machine (Stop Treating It Like One)28 Jul 202600:19:54

A while back I decided my community needed more value. Nobody asked for it. Nobody complained. I just had that low hum of guilt running in the background, the one that says surely they need more than this. So I built a resource library. Templates, guides, a whole video series I recorded over two weekends because I got very excited and told myself I was investing in the member experience. A month later I went and looked at the numbers, and almost nobody had opened it. Meanwhile the busiest thing in the entire community was a thread where one member asked a messy question about pricing and eleven people piled in to help her figure it out. I didn't make that thread. It cost me nothing. And it was the thing everyone was actually in there for.

This one's for you if you're spending your Sunday nights figuring out what to post in your own community, scheduling workshops nobody requested, and building libraries nobody opens. You're tired, the room's still quiet, and you're convinced the answer is more. Good news. You didn't build a community that's failing. You built a very small, very demanding media company with a membership fee attached, and nobody told you that wasn't the job.

In this episode:

• Why you accidentally turned your community into a content machine, and the three very human reasons we all do it

• What people actually stay for, and why not one member has ever told me it was the trainings

• Five shifts that move you from producing content to creating the conditions for connection

• What a member really means when she says there isn't enough in here (it's almost never more content)

• How constant availability quietly trains your members to wait for you

• The identity question underneath all of it: if you're not producing, what are you even for

Hosted by Rachel, a Circle Expert and founder of coCreator Society, each episode blends practical strategy, honest conversation, and behind-the-scenes insight into building memberships and communities designed to last. The Community Metrics That Actually Matter21 Jul 202600:19:04

For the longest time, the first thing I did every morning was open my community dashboard and look at exactly one number. Total members. It was going up, so I told myself everything was working, closed the tab, and went about my day feeling pretty good about myself. Then one afternoon I actually scrolled past that number and looked at who had done anything that week. Who posted. Who showed up. And my stomach dropped, because the number that had been making me feel successful was quietly hiding the number that was actually the problem.

This one's for you if your member count is climbing but you've got a nagging feeling you can't quite name. You're posting, hosting, showing up, doing all of it, and you still can't tell if any of it is actually working. Good news. It's probably not an effort problem. You've just been handed a dashboard full of numbers that feel good and told to run your community with them. And the numbers that feel good and the numbers that tell the truth are almost never the same numbers.

In this episode:

  • Why your total member count might be the least useful number on your whole dashboard
  • The one-line filter that sorts a vanity metric from a real one in about two seconds
  • Activation over signups, and why the first seven days basically decide whether someone stays
  • Return rate and early churn, the quiet numbers that actually keep the lights on
  • How to tell if you've built a community or just an audience with a chat box
  • The most telling signal in your entire community that isn't a number at all
  • The one honest number to go look at this week, even if you're a little scared of it

One Channel, One Job (What's Changing Around Here)14 Jul 202600:12:01

A few weeks ago I sat down to plan my July content, iced coffee in hand, feeling very smug about my calendar. Twenty minutes later I put the pen down, because I was about to teach the same idea in three different places, and every version was bad. That little moment turned into the biggest restructure I've made to my content in years. And it ends with a brand new daily podcast.

This one's for you if you're juggling a podcast, a YouTube channel, an email list, and a community, and every single one feels heavier than it should. You're working harder than ever and you can't tell what any of it is accomplishing. Good news. The problem was never your effort. It's that nobody ever gave your channels a job description.

In this episode:

  • What's changing with the podcast and YouTube, and why going audio-only made the show better
  • Introducing The Diary of a Community Builder, my brand new free daily podcast
  • The one rule that made every decision easy: one channel, one job
  • Why a flat channel is usually miscast, not failing
  • Three things to noodle on this week, iced coffee in hand
  • How to spot the content you're already making that has no home

Why AI Won't Fix Your Quiet Community02 Jul 202600:16:50

A new member posted a nervous little intro, and four seconds later an automated message welcomed her and pointed her to the start-here guide. She showed up as a person and got an autoresponder. Nobody meant any harm by it. It just looked efficient. And that is exactly how AI quietly costs you the thing you built.

This one's for you if you run a membership, a course, or a Circle community and you've been circling the same worry. You want AI to give you your time back, but you're scared it'll flatten the exact thing that made people join in the first place. Good news. The problem was never AI. It was automating the wrong half of the work.

In this episode:

  • Why founders automate the wrong half, and how to tell the two halves apart
  • The one question to ask before you hand anything to AI
  • What is always safe to automate without anyone feeling it
  • What you should never let AI touch, no matter how busy you are

What You Should Never Let AI Do in Your Community18 Jun 202600:18:04

A new member posted a real, slightly nervous intro, and four seconds later she got a cheerful automated welcome pointing her to the start-here guide. She showed up as a person, and got an autoresponder. Nobody meant any harm by it. It just looked efficient. And that is exactly how the line gets crossed.

In this episode of Community at Heart, I am giving you the whole map for using AI in your community without losing the thing you actually built. We get into why founders automate the wrong half of the work, the one question that tells you what is safe to hand off and what to protect, and where AI absolutely does not belong. This is the framework version of the line I teased last episode.

If you want to use AI to save real time inside your community but you are nervous about it making your space feel cold or robotic, this one draws the line for you.

Here's a glance at the episode:

  • Why founders automate the wrong half of their community work
  • The one question to ask before you hand anything to AI
  • What is always safe to automate, and why members never feel it
  • What you protect at all costs, no matter how busy you get
  • The drafting trap that turns a helpful tool into a fake

How AI Can Make You More Human in Your Community (Not Less)12 Jun 202600:17:59

You have seen the hollow auto-reply and the welcome message that clearly never touched a human hand. So when someone tells you to bring AI into your community, your whole body tenses up. I get it. But here is the thing. The reason your community feels a little less human lately probably is not the absence of AI. It is everything else you are carrying.

In this episode of Community at Heart, I am breaking down how AI, used the right way and connected to your community through the Circle MCP, can actually give you more room to be human in your space instead of less. We get into the real reason your community starts to feel managed instead of led, what the Circle MCP actually is in plain language, and the specific ways it frees you up to do the parts only you can do. Plus the one line you should never cross with AI inside your community.

If you are an established founder or community builder who loves your people but keeps running out of energy by the time you actually get to them, this one is for you.

🔑 Here's a glance at the episode:

  • Why the thing quietly draining the warmth out of your community is the admin load, not AI
  • What the Circle MCP actually is, explained in plain language with zero tech background required
  • How to find the new members who joined and quietly went silent before they are gone for good
  • How to write welcomes that make people feel known instead of just greeted
  • The members who are quietly holding your community together and never get thanked, and how to spotlight them
  • How to walk into your community each week already knowing where you are needed
  • The shift from managing your community to actually leading it
  • The one line you should never let AI cross inside your community
  • Why protecting the human part of your community is a structure problem, not a caring problem

Why Self-Care Doesn't Work for Founders (And What Actually Does)30 Apr 202600:15:45

You are doing all the self-care things and you are still exhausted by Tuesday afternoon. And before you order another supplement, sign up for another reset, or buy yet another candle, this episode is for you.

In this episode of Community at Heart, I am breaking down why so much of what has been sold to us as self-care does not actually work for the kind of work established founders are doing. We are getting into the difference between recovery and care, the three misconceptions that keep founders stuck for years, and the five structural shifts that actually fix founder exhaustion. Tactical, do-this-on-Monday kind of advice. Not just naming the problem.

If you have been quietly wondering why all the self-care is not adding up to a life that feels less depleting, this one is going to help.

🔑 Here's a glance at the episode:

  • Why self-care, as it has been sold to us, was never designed for the work founders are doing
  • The difference between recovery and care (and why most founders are stuck on a treadmill with rest stops)
  • The three misconceptions keeping founders exhausted for years
  • Why post-traction burnout is feedback, not failure
  • How to move from time boundaries to momentum boundaries
  • The decision log exercise that gave Rachel back what felt like an entire workday a week
  • Why you are not tired from the work, you are tired from carrying every choice in the work
  • How to stop performing exhaustion (and why the language you use about your business shapes how it feels)
  • How to build recovery into the design of your week instead of treating it like a reward
  • The most underrated structural shift almost no founder is using

When to Blow It Up and Start Over16 Apr 202600:14:42

There is a moment every community leader eventually hits where they look at their community and think: what if blowing this up is actually the right move?

And then immediately feel terrible about thinking it.

In this episode, Rachel gets honest about the signals that tell you your community model is not working and never will be, how to close something down without burning bridges or spiraling into shame, and what it actually looks like to build something better on the other side.

This one is permission-giving, practical, and yes, a little liberating.

In this episode:

  • The important difference between a community that needs tweaking and one that needs ending
  • Five honest signals your community model is not working and is not going to
  • Why "I am the only one showing up" is not dedication, it is a structural problem
  • How to sunset a community with integrity, real notice, and without the cryptic announcement
  • Why the debrief is the most valuable thing you will do before you build anything next
  • The question that is so much more useful than "how do I fix what I had?"

Building Community Leaders from Your Members09 Apr 202600:16:08

What would happen if you stepped away from your community for two weeks — completely? If the honest answer is "it would go pretty quiet," this episode is your next step.

Rachel breaks down how to identify the members who are already showing leadership potential and how to invite them into real ownership of the community experience — without making it feel like homework. Because the communities that feel alive even when the founder isn't front and center all have one thing in common: internal leadership that actually works.

In this episode:

  • Why founder dependency is a ceiling, not just a burnout risk
  • How to spot member leaders before they have any formal role (it's not always the loudest people)
  • The exact kind of invitation that works — and why "would you like to be a moderator?" usually doesn't
  • Four types of member leadership roles that show up naturally in healthy communities
  • Why the follow-up conversation matters as much as the initial invitation
  • The mindset shift from being the engine of your community to being its architect

The Retention Audit: What to Look for When Members Ghost02 Apr 202600:17:51

When members go quiet, the instinct is to panic — and rebuilding your entire community from scratch because three people cancelled in one month. Sound familiar? Before you overhaul everything, there's a better move: the retention audit.

In this episode:

  • Why ghosting is data, not a verdict — and how to stop spiraling when members go quiet
  • The #1 place most retention issues actually start (hint: it's not your content)

Your First 10 Members Matter More Than Your First 10026 Mar 202600:19:35

Your community isn't struggling because you don't have enough members. It's struggling because of who your first members were — and whether you were intentional about it.

In this episode, I'm breaking down why your founding cohort sets the culture for everything that comes after, why "fill the seats, then fix the vibe" is one of the most expensive mistakes a community builder can make, and how to think differently about who you're inviting in when your community is brand new.

If you've ever launched a membership, looked around at crickets, and wondered what went wrong — this episode is for you.

In this episode:

  1. Why your first 10 members are your culture architects (and what that actually means)
  2. The "fill it then fix it" myth — and why culture calcifies faster than you think
  3. A real client story about what happens when you prioritize speed over fit
  4. How to identify the right founding members (hint: you already know some of them)
  5. The Founding 10 Filter — three questions to ask before letting someone in early
  6. Why starting small and intentional is the smarter long-term play

The Business Model That Broke You (And Why It Wasn't Your Fault)19 Mar 202600:17:24

If your business is exhausting you — and you've already tried more discipline, better habits, and just pushing through — this episode is for you.

Because the problem might not be you. It might be your model.

In this episode, I'm breaking down the four business model patterns that quietly break founders, why they're so common in the first place, and why none of it is your fault. Plus what a sustainable model actually looks like — and the one question that will tell you whether yours is built to last.

In this episode:

  1. The one-to-one trap — why a full client roster can still leave you completely capped
  2. The launch hamster wheel — and the hidden emotional cost that compounds over time
  3. The free everything model — why generosity without a sustainable structure is just overgiving with a good story
  4. The founder bottleneck — when the ceiling on your growth is literally just you
  5. Why burnout from a broken model is an information gap, not a character flaw
  6. What recurring revenue, leverage, and long-game design actually look like in practice
  7. The one question to sit with this week

When to Hire Your First Community Manager (And What They Should Actually Do)12 Mar 202600:19:28

You're doing all of it — the welcoming, the monitoring, the posting, the following up, the behind-the-scenes admin that never ends. And at some point, you start thinking: I need help with this.

But how do you hand off community work without it losing what makes it what it is? What do you actually give someone to do? And how do you hire someone who won't just manage the space but genuinely protect its culture?

In this episode, I'm breaking down everything you need to know about hiring your first community manager — including the readiness signals that actually matter, what this role should and should not include, what to delegate first versus what to keep, and how to hire someone with the judgment to do this job well.

In this episode, you'll learn:

  1. Why "I'm overwhelmed" isn't a readiness signal — and what actually is
  2. The 5 signs you're genuinely ready to bring in community support
  3. What a community manager actually does (and what they definitely don't)
  4. The operational vs. soul layer distinction — what you can hand off vs. what you must keep
  5. A simple test for deciding if any given task is delegatable
  6. Why hiring before your systems are documented almost always backfires
  7. What the shift from community operator to community leader actually looks like
  8. How to scope the CM role so it supports your community without diluting it
  9. What to look for when hiring — emotional intelligence, service orientation, platform fluency, and judgment

Why Your Community 'Vibe' Isn't Working (And How to Shift It)05 Mar 202600:27:18

Something feels off in your community — but you can't quite name it. Members are joining but not really showing up. Conversations feel surface-level or one-sided. You're doing everything you can think of, and the energy still isn't what you imagined.

Here's what most founders get wrong: they treat culture like a feeling problem and try to fix it with more content, more prompts, more showing up. But your community's vibe isn't a feeling problem. It's a structure problem. And once you understand that, you can actually fix it.

In this episode, I'm breaking down why community culture goes sideways, what the symptoms are actually telling you, and how to shift the energy in your space without starting over.

In this episode, you'll learn:

  1. What "vibe" actually means — and why it's a culture problem, not a content problem
  2. The four symptoms of broken community culture (and what they're really telling you)
  3. Why most culture problems are design problems — not people problems
  4. Why passive consumption is a belonging problem, not a content problem
  5. What over-reliance on you as the host is actually signaling
  6. How misaligned members and negative pattern-setting take hold (and how to stop it)
  7. The five shifts that actually move the needle on community culture
  8. Why the first 72 hours of a member's experience set the entire template for how they show up
  9. What rituals are and why they're the bones of community culture
  10. How to model the behavior you want to see — intentionally and out loud
  11. Why culture shifts happen steadily, not suddenly (and what to do while you wait)

Key Topics Covered: Community culture, membership engagement, community design, member retention, community onboarding, community rituals, founder-led communities, paid membership strategy, Circle community platform, sustainable community growth, community leadership, engagement strategy

Whether your community is brand new or a few years in, this episode will help you see the gap between the community you have and the one you actually want — and give you a clear path to close it.

The Pre-Launch Validation Nobody Does (But Should)26 Feb 202600:18:50

How to know if your community idea will actually work before you build the whole thing

Thinking about launching a membership community or paid community? Before you spend months building out your entire platform, content calendar, and onboarding sequence, you need to validate that people actually want what you're building. In this episode, I'm breaking down the pre-launch validation framework that will save you months of wasted effort and help you avoid launching a community nobody joins.

Most founders skip validation entirely and go straight from idea to full build—only to launch to crickets or watch members ghost after the first month. But there's a better way. Learn how to test community demand, read engagement signals correctly, and validate your community concept before investing hundreds of hours into building it.

In this episode, you'll learn:

  1. Why Instagram polls and waitlists don't actually validate community demand
  2. The validation framework I use with every community client before we open Circle
  3. How to test your community idea with live workshops, challenges, or beta cohorts
  4. The four signals that tell you if your community will actually work (registration rates, show-up rates, engagement consistency, and the ask for more)
  5. Why a 40% show-up rate is the minimum threshold for moving forward
  6. How to spot the difference between curiosity seekers and committed community members
  7. The importance of peer-to-peer interaction vs. just content consumption
  8. Why testing speeds you up instead of slowing you down
  9. How to validate founder-offer fit (not just market demand)
  10. Real examples of validation success and strategic pivots based on test results

Key Topics Covered: Community validation, pre-launch testing, membership validation, community engagement testing, challenge-based validation, beta cohort testing, community building strategy, Circle community platform, sustainable community growth, founder-offer fit, market demand testing, community retention signals

Whether you're planning your first membership community or thinking about adding a community component to your existing business, this episode will show you how to validate demand before you build—so you can launch with confidence instead of hoping people show up.

The Free Community Trap (And Why Nobody's Converting)19 Feb 202600:21:04

Should you start with a free community and convert people to paid later? Or charge from the beginning?

If you're asking this question, you're probably hoping free is the safer choice. The easier choice. The one that won't scare people away.

But here's what I need to tell you: starting with a free community and trying to convert it to paid later almost never works.

In this episode, I'm breaking down why free communities fail, why paid communities work better for everyone, and the one trial strategy that actually converts (spoiler: it's not a free trial).

Because here's the truth—when people don't pay for something, they don't value it. They don't show up. They don't engage. They don't have any skin in the game. And when it's time to convert them to paid? They ghost.

But when people pay from the start, everything changes. They commit. They show up. They engage. They get results. And you build something sustainable.

In this episode, you'll learn:

  1. Why free communities never convert to paid (and the psychology behind it)
  2. The "skin in the game" problem that kills free communities
  3. How to build trust WITHOUT giving your community away for free
  4. Why paid communities create better members, better engagement, and better results
  5. The $1 trial strategy that doubled my community conversions (and why it works when free trials don't)

The Community Platform Question Everyone's Asking12 Feb 202600:26:26

You've been researching community platforms for weeks. One person swears by Circle. Another says Kajabi does it all. Someone else told you to just use a WhatsApp group because it's free.

And you're stuck wondering: which platform is actually right for my business?

Here's the truth nobody tells you—the platform you choose shapes everything. It shapes your member experience, your retention, how sustainable your community is to run, and whether people actually show up.

In this episode, we're breaking down the most popular community platforms: WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack, Discord, Patreon, Kajabi, Heartbeat, Skool, and Circle. I'll tell you what each one is actually good for, where they fall short, and how to know which one makes sense for your business.

And yes, I'm biased—I'm a Circle Certified Partner and I run my own community on Circle Plus. But I'm going to be honest about all of them, because choosing the wrong platform can cost you months of momentum and member trust.

In this episode, you'll learn:

  1. Why WhatsApp and Slack aren't built for real communities (even though everyone uses them)
  2. The problem with Kajabi's community features (and why course platforms don't do community well)
  3. What makes Circle different from every other platform
  4. How Circle is becoming a true all-in-one with email and website features
  5. Why your platform choice is a strategic decision, not just a technical one

Behind the Scenes of Building a Summit That Actually Serves Your Audience29 Jan 202600:23:13

Brittni Schroeder is a business coach and marketing strategist who's built her business on automation, sales funnels, and helping entrepreneurs scale without burning out. But what caught my attention wasn't her impressive background—working with clients featured in The Wall Street Journal and Good Morning America, running a magazine, founding a nonprofit—it was the fact that she's in her third year of hosting the Fusion Collective Business Summit with 30 speakers. And she's doing it differently than most people.

I met Brittni through the Flodesk partners Slack channel, and what struck me immediately was how thoughtfully she approaches collaboration. She's not chasing big names for the sake of visibility. She's not recycling the same tired topics everyone else is covering. She's curating experiences that actually serve her audience—even if that means saying no to speakers who don't align.

What sets Brittni apart is her willingness to be honest about what works and what doesn't. She talks openly about the chaos of her first summit, the frustration of speakers who ghost, and the evolution of going from 10 speakers to 30. But she also talks about the magic that happens when you mentor people coming up behind you, the power of paying it forward, and why your closest circle matters more than your follower count.

So if you've ever thought about hosting a summit but didn't know where to start, if you're tired of surface-level collaboration and want to build something real, or if you just love conversations about community and doing business with integrity, this one's for you.

Why I'm Using a Challenge to Launch (And Why You Might Want To, Too)22 Jan 202600:19:39

I'm doing a podcast episode about why I'm using a challenge to launch my next intensive... while actively running that challenge.

Yeah, it's meta. But here's why I wanted to talk about it:

Challenges are one of the most misunderstood tools in online business. People either think they're gimmicky and salesy, or they think they're this huge, complicated thing that requires a massive audience and a million-dollar tech stack.

Neither of those things is true.

In this episode, I'm pulling back the curtain on why I chose to use a challenge to launch my next Society intensive, what makes a challenge actually work, and why this format might be one of the smartest moves you could make in your business this year.

In This Episode:

  1. What a challenge actually is (and what it's not)
  2. Why challenges work better than webinars, email sequences, or "just posting about it"
  3. The five things that make a challenge actually effective (most people get at least three of these wrong)
  4. How challenges filter the right people in—without being salesy or manipulative
  5. Why I'm running this specific challenge for the second time (and what I learned the first time)
  6. How to know if a challenge makes sense for your business

Action Steps:

  1. Ask yourself: Is there one transformation I could guide people through in 5 days?
  2. Think about what your audience keeps asking you—could that become a challenge?
  3. Consider whether a challenge could help you validate an idea before building the full offer

Challenges aren't just for big launches or people with huge audiences. They're for anyone who wants to build trust, create real engagement, and give people an actual experience of what it's like to work with you.

5 Signs You're About to Build Something Nobody Wants15 Jan 202600:21:44

You just spent three months building an offer. You mapped out every detail. You created all the materials. You wrote the perfect sales page.

And then you launched and... crickets.

Or worse—a couple people signed up out of obligation and never engaged.

Here's the thing: there were warning signs. Red flags that showed up before you invested all that time and energy.

In this episode, we're breaking down the five signs you're about to build something nobody wants—and what to do instead.

Because these aren't just random mistakes. They're patterns that show up every single time someone builds the wrong thing.

In This Episode:

  1. Why "nobody's asking for it" is your biggest red flag (and how to actually listen)
  2. The danger of building something just because someone else did
  3. What "I can't explain who this is for" really means about your offer
  4. Why building for positioning instead of transformation always backfires
  5. How to test your idea before you waste months building the wrong thing

Action Steps:

  1. Keep a running list of questions you're getting from your audience—look for patterns
  2. Ask yourself: "Does my audience actually need this, or do I just want to build it?"
  3. Get specific about who your offer is for (not "entrepreneurs"—actually specific)
  4. Test before you build: run a challenge, workshop, or pilot first

Your offers should be built on validation, not guessing. And the best way to validate? Run a challenge.

The Client Questions That Should Make You Rethink Your Offer08 Jan 202600:17:23
You just got off a call with a potential client and something feels off.

They asked if they could "just buy one part" of your package. Or if you could have it done by next week. Or they compared your offer to something completely different.

And you answered. You clarified. You explained.

But you didn't stop to ask: why are they confused in the first place?

In this episode, we're breaking down the five client questions that should make you rethink your offer. Not tweak your sales page—actually reconsider what you're selling and who you're selling it to.

Because those questions aren't random. They're patterns showing you exactly where your offer isn't landing.

In This Episode:

  1. Why "Can I just buy one part?" means they don't value your most important work
  2. What "Can you do this by next week?" really tells you about client fit
  3. How vague messaging makes people compare you to the wrong thing
  4. The difference between selling transformation and telling people what they actually get
  5. Why "Is this for me?" means your audience is too broad

Action Steps:

  1. Review the last 5 questions potential clients asked—look for patterns
  2. Get clear on why your offer is structured the way it is
  3. Add a simple "Here's what's included" section to your sales page
  4. Define exactly who your offer is for (and who it's not)

Your offers should be clear, not confusing. And the questions will tell you exactly where to start.

What If This Was the Year You Built Your Business Differently?01 Jan 202600:13:28

You’ve worked hard.

You’ve invested.

You’ve tried to do all the “right” things.

And yet… your business still feels heavier than it should.

If you’re heading into a new year tired, stuck, or quietly wondering if this is just how entrepreneurship feels—you’re not alone. And more importantly, you’re not broken.

In this episode, we’re having an honest conversation about something most creative entrepreneurs don’t talk about enough: the cost of building alone. From decision fatigue to burnout to constantly second-guessing yourself, the solo grind is exhausting—and it’s not actually the badge of honor we’ve been told it is.

We’re talking about what changes when you stop trying to do everything yourself and start building with other people. Not in a “new year, new you” way—but in a fundamental shift that makes business feel more sustainable, supported, and even enjoyable again.

Because building differently isn’t about working harder.

It’s about working smarter—and not in isolation.

In This Episode:
  1. Why working harder isn’t fixing what feels hard
  2. The real reason so many creative entrepreneurs feel stuck and burned out
  3. What actually happens when you stop building your business alone
  4. How collaboration accelerates growth without adding more hours
  5. Why community isn’t a “nice to have”—it’s a strategy
  6. What 2026 could look like if you stopped doing everything yourself

Key Quotes:“The problem isn’t your work ethic—it’s the model you’re trying to build alone.” “Asking for help isn’t a weakness. It’s strategy.” “You don’t have time not to build relationships.”Action Steps:
  1. Notice where you’re stuck spinning alone instead of asking for help
  2. Identify one area of your business where collaboration would change everything
  3. Start showing up in spaces where people understand what you’re building
  4. Shift from competition to connection—and watch what opens up

Why You're Undercharging (And How to Raise Your Rates Without Losing Clients)18 Dec 202500:17:37

You’re skilled. Experienced. Getting real results for your clients.

And yet… you’re still charging the same rates you set when you were just trying to get someone—anyone—to say yes.

Sound familiar?

In this episode, we’re having the honest conversation so many service providers avoid: you’re probably undercharging—and fear is the reason why. From worrying about losing clients to questioning your own worth, we’re unpacking why pricing stagnates even as your skills, confidence, and results skyrocket.

More importantly, we’re talking about how to raise your rates without blowing up your client roster, your reputation, or your nervous system.

Because raising your rates isn’t about being greedy—it’s about building a business that doesn’t require burnout to survive.

In This Episode:

  • Why most service providers never update their rates (even when they should)
  • The three biggest fears keeping you underpaid—and how to move past them
  • How to price based on value, not hours
  • A simple framework to determine what you should be charging
  • Exactly how to raise your rates with current clients—without awkwardness or panic
  • What actually happens when you charge more (spoiler: it’s usually better clients)

Key Quotes:

“You’re not undercharging because you’re not good enough—you’re undercharging because you’re scared.”

“Your rates should evolve as you evolve.”

“Raising your rates isn’t about making more money. It’s about sustainability.”

Action Steps:

  • Look at your current rates and ask: are these based on who I was—or who I am now?
  • Calculate your pricing using value, market standards, and sustainability (not vibes).
  • Set a realistic timeline to raise your rates and communicate it clearly.
  • Update your website, proposals, and offers—and hold the line.

Why Your Goals Need People (Not Just a Better Planner)04 Dec 202500:14:05

You've set goals before. New planner, fresh vision board, this is the year.

And by February? Those goals are collecting dust in a notebook you stopped opening.

It's not because you're lazy. It's not because you lack discipline.

It's because you're doing it alone.

Last year I set a goal that I tried to quit on multiple times. It felt too big, too overwhelming, too unclear. But someone in my planning group wouldn't let me drop it. And that one goal? It led directly to creating the coCreator Society.

Without that accountability, without someone saying "no, you said this matters," I would have abandoned it completely. And I would have missed everything that came from it.

In this episode, we're talking about why your goals keep failing, why community changes everything, and how to actually set goals that stick in 2025. From "should" goals to the power of declaring what you're working toward, we're unpacking what makes the difference between goals you abandon and goals that change your business.

If you're tired of setting goals in January and forgetting them by March, this episode is your invitation to do it differently.

In This Episode:

  • Why most goals fail (and it's not what you think)
  • The "should" goal trap and how to escape it
  • The real story behind creating the coCreator Society—and how accountability made it happen
  • Why community changes everything when it comes to goal planning
  • The difference between strategically pivoting and quietly abandoning
  • How to use goals as filters for decision-making
  • Five steps to setting goals that actually stick
  • Why sharing your goals out loud matters

Key Quotes: "Your goals didn't fail because you failed. They failed because they were set up to fail from the start."

"If I'd been planning alone, I would have dropped that goal the first time it felt unclear. And I would have missed the whole thing."

"They hold space for the goal even when you're still figuring out what it means. They keep asking. They don't let you quietly abandon it."

Action Steps:

  1. Start with what you actually want—not what sounds impressive or what everyone else is doing
  2. Use your goals as filters: Does this move me toward what I said matters?
  3. Get people in your corner who will hold you accountable without judgment
  4. Share your goals out loud—there's power in declaring what you're working toward

Why I'm Not Doing a Black Friday Sale (And Why You Might Want to Skip It Too)27 Nov 202500:14:37

It's Thanksgiving. Your inbox is quiet. You're with your people, eating the food, playing the games.

But tomorrow? Tomorrow your inbox becomes a war zone.

Every business you've ever interacted with will email you. Multiple times. "24 Hours Only!" "Last Chance!" "This Will Never Happen Again!"

Countdown timers. Fake scarcity. Manufactured urgency.

And somewhere in the back of your mind, you're thinking: "Should I be doing something for Black Friday? Am I leaving money on the table?"

Here's the truth: Black Friday isn't right for every business. And "everyone else is doing it" is not a strategy.

In this episode, we're unpacking why I'm sitting out Black Friday, how to decide if it's right for your business, and why choosing your own promotional timing might be the smartest move you make. From fake urgency tactics to attracting the wrong clients, we're getting real about what Black Friday actually costs service-based entrepreneurs.

If you've ever felt pressure to run a sale just because everyone else is, this episode is your permission slip to make a different choice.

In This Episode:
  • Why Black Friday has become unbearable (and why the noise matters)
  • The fake urgency problem: countdown timers and manufactured scarcity
  • Who actually shows up on Black Friday—and are they your ideal clients?
  • Why discounting your expertise trains people your work isn't worth full price
  • The framework for deciding if Black Friday is right for YOUR business
  • How to choose your own promotional timing (and why February works for me)
  • Why "I should probably do something" is FOMO, not strategy
  • Permission to sit it out—or run a sale strategically

Key Quotes:

"When everyone is screaming at the same volume, nobody's actually being heard."

"Are you doing this because everyone else is, or because you have an actual strategy?"

"You can choose your own time. A time that means something to you or your business. A time when there's way less noise and you can actually be heard."

Action Steps:
  1. Ask yourself: Am I doing this because everyone else is, or because I have a real strategy?
  2. If you're running a Black Friday sale, answer these 5 questions: Do you have a scalable product? What's your actual goal? Can you handle the energy? Can you deliver the results? What's your post-sale plan?
  3. Consider choosing your own promotional timing instead of competing in the Black Friday chaos

How to Actually Rest This Holiday Season (Without the Guilt)20 Nov 202500:12:25

You've been planning for weeks. The tablescape, the menu, the whole production. But somewhere in the back of your mind, there's this nagging voice: "Should I really unplug next week? What if clients need me? What if I miss something important?"

Sound familiar?

Here's the truth: if the thought of being offline for four days makes your stomach drop, that's not dedication. That's a sign something's broken.

In this episode, we're talking about why rest isn't something you earn after you hit some revenue goal—it's what makes sustainable growth possible in the first place. From the pressure of Black Friday to the guilt of setting boundaries, we're unpacking why stepping away might be the smartest business move you make all season.

If you've ever caught yourself working on Thanksgiving morning or checking email while your family's eating pie, this episode is your permission slip to actually be present.

In This Episode:
  • Why constant availability isn't professionalism—it's burnout with better branding

  • How to tell if you have a business or just a job with no days off

The 3-Step Framework for Building Offers That Sell30 Oct 202500:17:22

Your offers sound good—but they’re not selling. Here’s why.

You know your client’s problem. You’ve done the work. You’ve mapped the pain points. But somehow, when it comes time to sell your offer, people hesitate. They say, “Let me think about it…” and vanish into inbox purgatory. Sound familiar?

In this episode, I’m sharing the 3-part framework that transformed my own flopped launches into fully booked offers—the Problem, Promise, and Process method. It’s the simple, no-fluff way to turn “sounds great” into “where do I sign?”

If you’ve ever struggled to explain what you do, or wondered why no one’s biting on an offer that should be selling, this episode will clear the fog.

In This Episode:

→ The 3 Ps of a profitable offer (and why missing one tanks your sales)

→ How to write a problem statement that makes clients say, “That’s me!”

→ Why your promise needs to be specific, tangible, and believable

→ The simple process formula that builds trust without giving it all away

→ Common offer mistakes (and how to fix them before your next launch)

Key Quotes:

“People don’t buy solutions to vague problems—they buy solutions to the thing that’s keeping them up at night.”

“Your offer doesn’t need to be complicated to be valuable. It just needs to be clear.”

“If you can explain your offer in three sentences, you’ve nailed it.”

Action Steps:

Write down your offer’s Problem, Promise, and Process in one short paragraph.

Read it aloud—does it sound human and clear?

Test it on a friend outside your industry. If they get it, you’re golden.

Course Creators: Stop Adding Modules and Start Doing This23 Oct 202500:18:04
Your service packages aren't selling—but it's probably not what you think.

This week, I'm sharing the story of an incredibly talented OBM who had beautiful, professional-looking packages that nobody was buying. Not because she wasn't good at what she did. Not because her pricing was off. But because she was solving Problem A when her clients desperately needed help with Problem Z.

If you've ever had people say "that sounds great!" and then disappear... or if you're spending half your discovery calls explaining what you do... or if clients sign up then ghost after a month—this episode is for you.

In This Episode:
  • Why building offers based on your skills (instead of their problems) keeps you stuck
  • The 4 red flags that your offer isn't landing
  • How to discover what problems your ideal clients are ACTUALLY struggling with
  • The reframe that doubled one strategist's booking rate
  • Why you should price for value, not time
  • A practical 3-step plan you can do this week

Key Quotes

"Nobody wakes up thinking, 'You know what I need today? A brand messaging framework.' They wake up thinking, 'I have no idea how to explain what I do without completely confusing people.'"

"People don't hire you to deliver services. They hire you to solve problems."

"When you're solving the right problem—one that's painful, urgent, expensive if left unfixed—people don't haggle."

"You're not charging for your time. You're charging for the value of the problem being solved."

Action Steps
  1. Have 3 conversations this week with people who fit your ideal client profile
  2. Ask: "What's the biggest challenge you're dealing with right now?" and write down their exact words
  3. Review past clients who got the best results—what problem were they trying to solve?
  4. Compare what you learned to your current offer—does it match?

You’ll discover:

▸ Why course completion rates are stuck at 15% (and how to flip that number on its head)

▸ The five elements of community-integrated learning that transform content into actual results

▸ Why transformation doesn’t happen in isolation—and how to design for connection from day one

▸ Simple ways to build accountability, support, and celebration into your course (without burning out)

▸ How shorter, more focused lessons paired with community application can skyrocket engagement

Whether you’re a course creator, membership leader, or summit host—this episode shows you how to create experiences your students actually finish (and rave about). Because in 2025, it’s not about polished modules, it’s about building courses that truly change lives.

Fresh Perspectives on Summit Strategy: A Conversation with The Summit Queen, Julie C. Butler15 May 202500:44:05

Let's be real—hosting a summit is a ton of work, but the real magic (and money) happens after it's over. Yet this is exactly when most hosts drop the ball, feeling relieved it's done instead of capitalizing on all the momentum they've built.

To help us unlock the post-summit goldmine, I'm joined by Julie C. Butler, known as the Summit Queen. Julie is a virtual summit coach who specializes in helping coaches confidently host their first summit to expand their email list, increase visibility, and boost revenue. With over 15 years of business experience and having grown her own list by 1,500+ people through summits, she knows exactly how to turn summit attendees into loyal customers.

Today, we're diving into what happens after your summit ends, the innovative approaches to speaker networking, and how to stand out in an increasingly crowded summit space.

HERE ARE THE 3 KEY TAKEAWAYS FROM THIS EPISODE:

1️⃣ Nurture Your New Audience - Learn why 42% of Julie's income comes directly from summit attendees and how to properly nurture these warm leads after your event ends.

2️⃣ Build Meaningful Connections - Discover how to create valuable relationships with speakers through pre-recordings and dedicated networking opportunities that lead to future collaborations.

3️⃣ Focus on Quality Over Quantity - Understand why having 500 of the right attendees is more valuable than 2,000 random ones, and how to attract your ideal audience through strategic speaker selection.

So, if you've been thinking about hosting a summit or want to get more from the ones you already run, grab your notebook—this episode is packed with practical strategies you can implement immediately.

The Contributor Goldmine: Why Your Community Needs a System (Like, Yesterday!) with Candice Grobler08 May 202500:44:13

Let's be real—if you're still the one creating all the content, answering all the questions, and trying to keep the energy up, it's no wonder you're exhausted. But here's the thing: your members want to contribute—they just don't know how. And that's where a solid contributor system comes in.

To help us break this down, I'm joined by Candice Grobler, founder of Candid Collab. Candice is a powerhouse when it comes to building systems that let brands grow their communities without selling their souls to non-stop content creation. After realizing she wasn't meant to be anyone's employee (her words, not mine, but honestly, I love the energy), she built a business helping others create sustainable, thriving communities.

Today, we're diving into why you need a contributor system, how it transforms your community, and what steps you can take today to make it happen.

HERE ARE THE 3 KEY TAKEAWAYS FROM THIS EPISODE:

1️⃣ Find Your Top Contributors - Learn how to identify the top 10% of engaged members who are already invested in your community and ready to step up.

2️⃣ Match Contribution to Motivation - Discover how to research what drives your potential contributors and create systems that align with their goals.

3️⃣ Start Small, Start Today - Get a simple five-step action plan you can implement immediately to begin building your contributor system without overwhelming yourself.

So, if you're ready to stop doing everything yourself, grab your notebook—this one's for you.

MEET OUR GUEST

Candice Grobler, founded Candid Collab after deciding that her last manager was right to call her “unemployable”. After struggling to fit into an “employee” mould that never felt natural, she's excited to finally have real security knowing that she can provide for herself as a business owner, community mentor and now — speaker!

Now she helps stretched brands build community systems around their products and services — so they can market their businesses without selling their souls. 😉

And as a passion project, she mentors aspiring consultants who want to break free of the “employee” role.

From Launch to Legacy: Promoting Your Challenge & Leveraging Results24 Apr 202500:25:52

Ever wonder why some challenges get 327 sign-ups with a tiny email list and zero ad spend, while others struggle to fill seats? The secret isn't a massive audience or marketing genius—it's strategic promotion before your challenge and intentional follow-through after it ends.

In this final episode of our gamification series, I'm revealing the complete framework for turning your challenge into a business-building powerhouse. From the perfect promotional timeline to the seven strategies that transform a one-time event into a lasting asset, I'll show you how to make your challenge work harder for you than you work for it.

HERE ARE THE 3 KEY TAKEAWAYS FROM THIS EPISODE:

1️⃣ The 3-Element Promotional Framework – Learn the exact messaging strategy that maximizes sign-ups by focusing on specific outcomes, simplified processes, and unique advantages—plus the ideal timeline for building momentum without losing urgency.

2️⃣ Engagement Maintenance Systems – Discover how to combat the 40-60% drop-off most challenges experience after Day 1 with strategic engagement boosters, personal touchpoints, and targeted interventions at common drop-off points.

3️⃣ The 7-Step Legacy Plan – Transform your challenge from a temporary event into a permanent business asset with my systematic approach to collecting testimonials, repurposing content, analyzing data, and creating natural pathways to your paid offerings.
