Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellenger & SI’s Pat Forde kick off the podcast, analyzing the new reports that NCAA president Charlie Baker is planning on building a new Division I subconference with a focus on athlete revenue sharing. Ohio State quarterback Kyle McCord has entered the transfer portal after posting an 11-1 season for the Buckeyes. Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellenger & SI’s Pat Forde react to the final College Football Playoff rankings for the 2023 season.

With 5 teams truly deserving of a spot in the College Football Playoff, one school had to draw the short straw. Michigan, Washington, Texas & Alabama round out the finalized bracket for the playoff, while the Florida State Seminoles are the odd team out this year, coming in at #5 after an undefeated season. Nobody appeared to be more disappointed than FSU quarterback Jordan Travis, who took to social media after the announcement, wishing he could have gotten hurt earlier in the year so that the committee could see the true potential of this FSU team.

Dan, Pat & Ross analyze why the 4-team system was implemented & why the 12-team system was delayed for so long. Ross then takes us into the history of the ACC/Big Ten/Pac-12 “Alliance” and how it failed, along with how the ACC hurt themselves by not advocating for an expanded playoff earlier due to grievances with the SEC’s expansion. The show also takes a dive into what the 12-team playoff firmat would look like this year with so many quality teams in the mix who obviously did not make the top-4 like Oregon, Ohio State & Georgia.

Speaking of the Bulldogs, Alabama took down Georgia on Saturday to claim another SEC championship. From snap one, the Crimson Tide looked like a different team than last week. Georgia couldn’t get their ground game going and more importantly, they couldn’t get Alabama out of their heads. The guys break down how Alabama was able to rally after a shaky start to the season to become one of the final four teams competing for a national championship.

Washington and Texas will battle in the CFP semifinals in the Sugar Bowl on January 1st.\. Both programs had excellent years and the crew is very excited to see these two square off. Washington’s offense has stepped up in their most important games this year and Texas was able to dominate the Big 12 in the latter half of the season.

Before closing out the show, the guys share their way-too-early national championship predictions and forecast whether or not LSU’s Jaden Daniels has secured the Heisman Trophy.

Lastly, the show gives out their final Small Sample Heisman awards of the season, and as always, Say Something Nice.

Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellenger & SI’s Pat Forde give their picks against the spread for college football’s conference championship weekend and react to the return of Bobby Petrino in Arkansas.

Last week’s Michigan vs. Ohio State game peaked at 19.7 million TV viewers, so the guys discuss the continued rise in popularity of college football and how it is able to succeed despite so much internal dysfunction within the sport. College football’s scandals and high amount of change in recent years may have fueled the boom, along with Texas coming back to relevance and the addition of Coach Prime at a Power Five school.

Bobby Petrino has returned to the Arkansas Razorbacks football program after being fired from the team after alleged indiscretions with a staff member. The crew revels in the fact that both Petrino and Arkansas were able to agree to terms, but warn that head coach Sam Pittman must be sharp next year as Petrino has been known to aim for the big job.

5-star defensive lineman Justin Scott has decided to flip from Ohio State to the University of Miami. While commit flips aren’t rare, the reality of money openly being used to lure away commits is increasing in the new landscape of college athletics.

Ross provides information on the future of college football conference championship games and whether or not they will continue in the future. The issue has become more divisive lately as more commissioners are leaning towards abandoning them, while others see the importance of the games when paired with a 12-team playoff.

Sports Illustrated named Deion Sanders their Sportsman of the Year, so the podcast reflects on Coach Prime’s first season with Colorado. Sanders was able to take the nation by storm with his unorthodox recruiting tactics, along with his bright personality. However, the Buffs also closed out the year 4-8 leaving, a sour taste in the mouths of the Colorado faithful.

More quarterbacks have entered the transfer portal, most notably, Duke’s Riley Leonard & Coastal Carolina’s Grayson McCall. Leonard has already been projected as the next Notre Dame quarterback, but the guys are staying patient with their assessments, as the wild west of the transfer portal is just getting started.

This year’s College Football Playoff race is as tight as ever, so Dan floats the question whether or not the committee will select the four best teams. Will there be pushback against the inclusion of Florida State if they remain undefeated, considering their résumé?

Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellenger & SI’s Pat Forde give their thoughts ahead of college football’s exciting conference championship games this weekend.

The Alabama Crimson Tide are hoping to keep their playoff hopes alive with a win against the Georgia Bulldogs. Georgia aims to remain undefeated in pursuit of a third straight national championship. With such a tight CFO race, the guys examine scenarios whether either Alabama or Georgia make it, and also the possibility of a College Football Playoff that doesn’t include the SEC at all

Oregon and Washington will be battling for a spot in the playoff out in the Pac-12. Washington has a win over Oregon already this season, but Oregon has been firing on all cylinders to close out the season and is the favorite in their rematch.

Florida State needs to secure the ACC championship against Louisville this weekend with quarterback Tate Rodemaker at the helm. Florida State has a solid resume, but there are 1-loss teams with better wins, so the Seminoles need to bank on a win and the CFP committee valuing an undefeated ACC champion over who the best team is at the moment.

Mike Gundy and his mullet have an opportunity to end Texas’ CFP hopes this weekend. Texas has already notched an impressive win over Alabama, but their loss to Oklahoma makes this game a must-win for the Longhorns to stay in the hunt.

Duke head coach Mike Elko accepted the Texas A&M head coaching job this week. Elko was received well by the Aggie faithful online as well as in-person. The crew discusses the odd rituals that Texas A&M has and compare it to Mississippi State’s reception of Jeff Lebby at the Starkville airport.

In other news, the college football transfer portal has opened up, so offseason relocation madness is finally beginning. Kansas State quarterback Will Howard jumped in the portal along with Miami quarterback Tyler Van Dyke. The crew expects more talented players to enter looking for a new program.

Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellenger & SI’s Pat Forde react to the biggest games that took place during college football rivalry week including Michigan’s win over Ohio State and Alabama’s last-second heroics over Auburn.

With Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh serving the final game of his three-game suspension, Sherrone Moore led Michigan to their third consecutive victory against Ohio State. The guys discuss how Michigan was able to win this game over their rival and how the narrative surrounding the team has to change. The Connor Stalions saga has dramatically decreased weight after the Wolverines proved they could win this game without Harbaugh on the sidelines. Ryan Day’s status as the head coach of Ohio State becomes much cloudier after this loss; Day has an incredible record, but his pattern of losses against blood-rival Michigan will undoubtedly cast pressure and doubt on his future.

The Iron Bowl did not disappoint at all this year; Auburn had Alabama on the ropes all game, but when the Crimson Tide needed some Milroe-magic, the quarterback came through big. The miraculous 4th & 31 touchdown pass from Jalen Milroe to Isaiah Bond kept Alabama’s playoff hopes alive as they are set to square off with Georgia this upcoming weekend in the SEC Championship.

The Washington Huskies showed guts in their Apple Cup win over Washington State on Saturday. Kalen DeBoer had an incredible play call on 4th & 1 on his own 29-yard-line to get the Huskies in field goal range. Washington is able to stay undefeated and this win has created an incredible matchup next weekend against Oregon in what could be the final Pac-12 championship game.

There are still eight teams with a legitimate chance to make the College Football Playoff, so the guys give their scenarios for who gets in and who gets left out when the season ends. Florida State continues to be a main catalyst for conversation as they stay undefeated, but without their starting QB Jordan Travis.

The coaching carousel has started up again and moves are already being made as Jonathan Smith is set to become the next coach for Michigan State, Mark Stoops was very close to leaving Kentucky for Texas A&M, Tom Allen is out at Indiana & Mississippi State still has a big decision to make for their vacant head coaching role.

Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellenger & SI’s Pat Forde preview the biggest game of the college football season to date, Ohio State vs. Michigan in Ann Arbor.

As the regular season winds down, the animosity between these bitter rivals heats up. The long build to playing your foe is biggest between Ohio State and Michigan, yet this game does not come without future interests and complications as the Big Ten is moving away from in-conference divisions — leaving the noted Buckeye-Wolverine rivalry in a tricky spot. Their longstanding yearly date to face-off could be in jeopardy when the two are allowed to play each other for the Big Ten championship as soon as next year. The guys debate whether or not a back-to-back Michigan-Ohio State game would encourage the Big Ten to keep their divisions.

The crew then breaks down the highly anticipated matchup and which team could have the edge. Early in the season, Michigan appeared to be the favorite, but after their last two games and Ohio State’s recent hot streak, it should be much closer. The podcast also analyzes what happens if Ryan Day loses to Michigan for the third straight year. Day is building a good program, but he needs to win the game that matters most to keep the Buckeye faithful in his corner.

Florida State is in a tricky situation after starting quarterback Jordan Travis is done for the season due to an injury last weekend. Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellenger & Pat Forde break down the latest in the Michigan football sign-stealing drama and take a deep dive into what happens at Florida State after QB Jordan Travis’ injury.

The ball of yarn that is Michigan football continues to come undone as news broke last week that allaged sign-stealer Connor Stalions was funded by a Michigan booster known as ‘Uncle T’. Through all the distractions, Michigan continues to win games, which has elevated the stakes for their matchup next weekend against an Ohio State team that is playing with great momentum.

Meanwhile, Ohio State dismantled Minnesota this weekend, so the guys discuss the weaknesses of this Michigan team and how quarterback JJ McCarthy needs to step-up in order to beat their longtime rival next Saturday.

Georgia dominated Tennessee on Saturday, leaving no questions as to who the #1 team in college football is. The development of Carson Beck has been huge as Georgia isn’t only dangerous defensively, but they can now score in confident fashion.

Florida State’s star quarterback Jordan Travis had to leave the game on Saturday with a bad lower body injury. It is expected that Travis’s year is done, which leaves many questions about FSU’s playoff hopes. If Florida State can stay undefeated, the CFP committee will have a very difficult decision to make, weighing if FSU with a backup quarterback is better than any of the 1-loss teams.

The Washington Huskies continue to win big games. Their latest was a 2-point win over Oregon State in very messy conditions. The crew believes that this win has cemented them as a top-4 team in the country as of right now. The Pac-12 has great depth and Washington has yet to lose, which should earn them a higher ranking.

Pac-12 coaching news was also buzzing this weekend as Jedd Fisch has made himself a top target for programs looking for a new head coach after his great turnaround at Arizona. Lincoln Riley is losing games at an unexpected pace, making the guys speculate how hot his seat is. Meanwhile, Chip Kelly was rumored to be on a very hot seat last week, but just pulled off a big win against USC, so perhaps his tenure at UCLA isn’t over yet.

New Mexico State got a huge payday on Saturday from Auburn. They had their cake and ate it too, as not only did they get paid $1.85 million to play the Tigers, but they also beat them by 21 points.

Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellenger & SI’s Pat Forde pick the biggest college football games against the spread for Week 12 of the college football season.

With two more weeks of the regular season to go, the guys analyze the top contenders to make the College Football Playoff. Georgia found themselves ranked #1 in the latest standings and they look like the team to beat for the second year in a row. The only thing standing in their way is a stubborn Alabama team that they will likely meet in the SEC championship game. Michigan and Ohio State’s playoff berths will be decided by their matchup in a week and a half. If either team keeps the game close, then the committee could vote them both in, barring other undefeated teams getting a loss before then. Washington, Florida State, & Texas are the big wildcards for this year’s playoff and all three teams will have to win out in order to get a chance to make the top four.

In legal news, Washington State and Oregon State have been granted the exclusive rights to the Pac-12 conference in their court ruling. The ‘Pac-2’ could look to add Mountain West scheduling and teams into their conference. The Mountain West is aiming to keep all 12 of their schools united in a possible transition to the new Pac-12.

James Madison and Jacksonville State had their bowl eligibility appeals denied this week. There is hope that JMU can still make a bowl if not enough eligible teams qualify. Ross believes that the NCAA will take a long look at the FCS-to-FBS transition rule after this year’s precedent set by JMU.

The Bahamas Bowl is under construction so the location has been changed to Charlotte, North Carolina & the sponsor has been changed to the Famous Toastery Bowl. The Mid-Atlantic chain restaurant has stepped up when the sport needed them most and the gang is excited for it.

Before getting to their official picks, the guys cover a new case of ultra marathon cheating during The People’s Court.

Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellenger & SI’s Pat Forde debate who should be the next head coach for Texas A&M following the departure of Jimbo Fisher. Many big names such as Dan Lanning, Eli Drinkwitz, Lane Kiffin, Kalen DeBoer & Deion Sanders are in the mix as interesting prospects to lead the Aggies next year.

Mississippi State fired head coach Zach Arnett on Monday after less than a year of leading the program. The crew notes the awkward transition that Arnett had to make after the passing of Mike Leach and Ross also breaks down what it takes to win football games at Mississippi State, a school noted for a lack of resources or a robust NIL portfolio.

Reports have been coming out about what Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers is going to do after this season is over. While the quarterback is expected to return to Texas, all remains uncertain as he could declare for the NFL draft if he has a strong finish to this season. And if Ewers does indeed stay, what does that mean for Arch Manning?

The Pac-12's court battle against the deserters grows more interesting as Oregon State and Washington State are not looking for future money from the conference, but the lion’s share of what the Pac-12 would bring in this season.

Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellenger & SI’s Pat Forde kick off the podcast reacting to the news that Texas A&M is parting ways with head coach Jimbo Fisher.

Texas A&M made the decision to move on from Fisher after beating Mississippi State 51-10 on Saturday. Many felt that with the enormous buy-out Fisher is due that the university would’ve been more patient, but enough mediocrity had become enough for the Aggie faithful. The guys reflect on the Jimbo Fisher era in College Station and discuss the future of the Texas A&M job in general. The program has a lot of money and top-notch facilities, but will the next coach be able to get them over the hump>

The Michigan football melodrama continued on Saturday with an impressive win over Penn State while coach Jim Harbaugh watched from a hotel nearby, serving the first of his three-game suspension. This does appear to be your father’s Wolverine team, as they decided to close out the game by running the ball 32 straight times. On the other hand, this marks another loss for James Franklin against a top-tier Big Ten squad.

Georgia reminded everyone who they are again on Saturday against Ole Miss. The crew discusses the evolution of the Bulldog offense and how they got on such a roll.

Missouri notched a blowout win against Tennessee this weekend, which gives us a great look ahead to similar high-impact games for a 12-team playoff, where Mizzou would be making quite a push down the stretch.

Controversy stuck as Arkansas players were seen watching the animated classic ‘The Polar Express’ during halftime of their game against Auburn. While this may have taken place with redshirt players, Razorback fans aren’t thrilled about the focus (or lack thereof) on football.

Saturday provided many close games featuring top teams nearly falling out of the College Football Playoff race. Texas, Washington & Florida State all provided cause for concern after letting their opponents keep the games so close.

Iowa garnered some credit from the guys for beating Rutgers 22-0, which basically cements them as the Big Ten West representative in the Big Ten championship game.

Late Friday afternoon, the Big Ten suspended Michigan Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh for the three remaining games of the regular season as punishment for the alleged Michigan sign-stealing scandal. However, nothing with the Conor Stalions saga is as easy or simple as it seems.

Dan Wetzel and SI's Pat Forde convene for a late-night podcast on Friday night to react to this monumental news out of Ann Arbor and the follow-up story that the University Michigan and Harbaugh have filed for an emergency restraining order against the punishment in a Michigan court.

The guys discuss all angles of this evolving story, including what happens next for this Michigan team, if they expect the punishment to be blocked by the courts and the chances of the Wolverines going 6-0 this season without Harbaugh.

Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellenger & SI’s Pat Forde pick this weekend’s biggest college football games against the spread & provide their thoughts on Michigan’s response to the Big Ten as rumors of a suspension for Jim Harbaugh circulate through the sports world.

After being notified of a Big Ten investigation, Michigan was given the opportunity to respond with any claims or information that may exonerate them in the Connor Stalions sign-stealing saga. Michigan is attempting to put the pressure on Big Ten commissioner Tony Petitti with their aggressive statements. A few central questions remain with the developments: how will a judge handle this case from a legal perspective & did Jim Harbaugh know the extent to which Stalions went to in order to get the signs?

In on-the-field news, NC State quarterback MJ Morris is opting to redshirt this season after playing four games for the Wolfpack. With Morris at QB, NC State has won 3 out of their last 4 games, but the signal caller is looking to preserve another year of eligibility instead of closing out the season.

Meanwhile, Quinn Ewers has been upgraded to day-to-day status as Texas is looking to finish the year strong with upcoming games against TCU, Iowa State & Texas Tech. Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellenger & SI’s Pat Forde break down the latest news in the Michigan sign-stealing scandal and what punishments may soon come down the line.

As more Big Ten coaches express their displeasure with Michigan’s sign-stealing operation, the pressure turns to commissioner Tony Petitti. There are rumblings that he could make a decision before the NCAA does, which hasn’t been seen on this scale since the Cam Newton recruiting saga. Aside from the decision itself, plenty of fans and coaches will be upset no matter what the Big Ten and the NCAA decide. The guys dive into scenarios for other Big Ten schools down the line if a scandal like this were to happen again and how Tony Petitti has a chance to change the landscape for cheating punishments for years to come.

Sticking with the Wolverines, the most anticipated game of the week is Michigan traveling to face off against Penn State. Both teams are equipped with elite defenses, but the podcast speculates whether the distractions at Michigan could give Penn State a boost at home this Saturday.

Georgia is facing off against Ole Miss this weekend in their stretch of tough late-season SEC games. The crew focuses on whether or not Ole Miss has a shot to win, or at least weaken Georgia before the Bulldogs play Tennessee next week.

Tennessee vs. Missouri is the second biggest matchup of in the SEC this weekend. While this game doesn’t hold many major playoff implications this season, it gives us a perfect example of what a high-stakes play-in game might look like for the expanded playoff next season.

Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellenger & SI’s Pat Forde react to this weekend’s biggest football games as well as the biggest story in college football: what to do with Michigan in the case of their ever-evolving sign-stealing scandal.

Michigan analyst Connor Stallions was fired by the school this past week, leaving many questions unanswered the cheating saga. The guys give their thoughts on what Big Ten commissioner Tony Petitti should do, as well as what he is allowed to do in this situation. The rest of the Big Ten wants the hammer dropped on Michigan, but the program happens to be the conference’s best chance at a National Championship this year.

Alabama hosted LSU this Saturday and appeared to have adopted a new offensive scheme. Quarterback Jalen Milroe had a great game and helped lay the foundation for a Georgia vs. Alabama SEC championship matchup in a few weeks. The guys also reflect on the impact of this season on LSU and their fanbase as we are reaching the end of Brian Kelly’s second season with the program.

The Pac-12’s biggest matchup of the week did not disappoint as Washington and USC dueled until the very end, resulting in a Washington victory and the dismissal of USC defensive coordinator Alex Grinch on Sunday. USC star quarterback Caleb Williams was seen emotional after the game with his family, which sparks a very interesting point from Dan as to why he didn’t sit out the season.

The final Bedlam matchup was a good one as Oklahoma State came out victorious over Oklahoma. The guys see this as a fitting end to the rivalry, with Oklahoma leaving the Big 12 for the SEC next season. This result also leaves Texas as the only remaining Big 12 team to have a shot at CFP contention this season.

Notre Dame received their third loss of the season to Clemson and a very fired up Dabo Swinney. The Fighting Irish continue to produce unpredictable games and seasons under Marcus Freeman.

Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellenger & SI’s Pat Forde reflect on the life and career of legendary men’s college basketball coach Bob Knight on today’s episode.

The news of Bob Knight’s passing broke on Wednesday night, leaving the sports world crushed at the loss of a legendary figure. Knight helped innovate the sport and drew the attention of millions through his brash style and on-court success. The crew reflects on his career highs, including the last undefeated season in college basketball, his 902 career wins and the impact he had on the state of Indiana. The guys also recall Knight’s volatility and unique character traits that made him truly one-of-one in the purest definition of the phrase.

Central Michigan’s lack of definitive comment regarding this week’s reporting that a figure resembling Conor Stalions was spotted on their sideline has led the crew to decide that Stalions was indeed stealing signs from Michigan State early in the year. The investigation continues for Michigan and Stalions, but the more that Dan, Pat & Ross learn about it, the more they have to conclude that no college coach would ever be on board with Stalions’ brash espionage tactics.

The Big Ten held a coaches phone conference with commissioner Tony Petitti this week. Jim Harbaugh provided his statement, then left the call for other coaches to express their displeasure with the conference in reference to the sign-stealing scandal. The guys work through the most effective ways that the Big Ten can get through this sign-stealing investigation and keep their other member schools happy

Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellenger & SI’s Pat Forde react to the first edition of College Football Playoff rankings for the 2023 season.

Ohio State comes in at the top spot in the first edition of 2023 CFP rankings after a strong resume through 9 weeks. The crew debates not on if they are unworthy of the #1 ranking, but rather when Georgia will make the jump up to the top spot.

The Connor Stalions situation continues to amaze as new photos of a person resembling Stalions on the sidelines of the Central Michigan-Michigan State game have emerged. If the figure ends up proven to be Stalions attempting to steal signs, this may be one of the all-time scandals that the sport has ever seen.

Alabama and LSU are squaring off this weekend in Tuscaloosa after a hard fought battle last season. This intense matchup could sink Alabama’s playoff hopes with an LSU win, but the guys aren’t quite ready to count out Nick Saban this season, especially in big SEC matchups.

Missouri is facing off against #1 ranked Georgia this weekend, continuing a stretch of tough SEC opponents for the Bulldogs. The guys discuss Mizzou’s upside while acknowledging that in ranked matchups, Georgia tends to wake up and take command of games.

The state of Iowa continues to misbehave as the Iowa Hawkeyes announced that offensive coordinator Brian Ferentz will not be returning to call plays next season. Amidst an incentive-laden contract that demanded 25 points per game and a very bad offensive output, the experiment has ended for Ferentz.

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney had a fiery reaction to a caller on his radio show on Monday night. After the caller questioned Dabo’s contract in a down year, Swinney went on a 5 minute rant explaining the nature of football along with his perspective when fans react this way.

In the final Oklahoma-Oklahoma State Bedlam matchup for a long time, Mike Gundy and Brian Bosworth exchanged words leading up to the game. Gundy recalls when the game used to be a true rivalry, while Bosworth is excited to send it out with a bang and meet up with Gundy ahead of their matchup on Saturday. Even though Oklahoma is leaving for the SEC, there doesn’t appear to be any love lost between the two schools.

To close out the podcast, the Santa Cruz sea otter makes her triumphant return & the People’s Court takes on a case of the hungry firefighters.

Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellenger & SI’s Pat Forde break down all the biggest games and upsets from Week 9 across the college football slate.

In a shocking turn of events, the Kansas Jayhawks upset the #6 ranked Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday. Led by backup quarterback Jason Bean, the Jayhawks were able to win the duel in their last Big 12 matchup against the Sooners. The guys discuss the level of concern that Oklahoma fans should have after a close win against UCF last week and now a loss to Kansas on Saturday.

Georgia cemented their status as top dog this weekend after crushing Florida for four full quarters. The Bulldogs were without star tight end Brock Bowers, but it didn’t seem like they missed a step. The National Championship appears to still run through Athens, Georgia as we approach November.

In what was expected to be the best game of the week, Oregon went on the road and rolled right over the Utah Utes. The crew debates whether or not Oregon is the best team in the Pac-12 and if they can rise above the conference’s best to reach the College Football Playoff.

Ohio State continues to chug along after beating Wisconsin on Saturday. The methodical offense, coupled with a strong defense gives the crew faith that this Buckeyes team will make a great opponent for Michigan at the end of the season.

Louisville was able to shut out Duke at home this weekend, with Pat in attendance. Pat breaks down what makes this Cardinals team different, as well as detailing an incredibly unique experience with his car getting towed by Louisville campus parking services.

Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellenger & SI’s Pat Forde pick the biggest Week 9 college football games against the spread in this week’s edition of Race for the Case.

The slow drip of news from the Michigan sign-stealing scandal has been endlessly entertaining as more details continue to emerge about Connor Stalions and the scouting operation that he had going for Michigan. The largest questions still remain unanswered as we don’t yet know Jim Harbaugh’s involvement or how the initial tip-off was achieved. It seems like Harbaugh could be heading to the NFL if he had any involvement with the scandal, but the real penalty from this investigation is reputational. Michigan will be able to find another quality coach, but this scandal could brand the program as ‘cheaters’ for some time.

Moving onto this weekend’s games, it isn’t the strongest slate of games for Week 9, but many matchups have a high interest level from the crew including Kansas vs. Oklahoma, Clemson vs. NC State & Ohio State vs. Wisconsin.

In news of the weird, 2 million dimes were stolen from a truck & the Florida Man games will begin this February.

Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellenger & SI’s Pat Forde continue to dive into the latest details surrounding Connor Stalions’ involvement in the Michigan sign-stealing investigation.

Ticket records for Connor Stalions have been brought to light and Michigan has been branded as ‘cheaters’ until further notice by the general college football public. The guys speculate how high up the reported signs went, who knew about them and what the eventual punishment for Michigan will be if the program is found to be guilty of breaking the rules.

Quinn Ewers suffered an injury last week, making him a week-to-week decision to start at quarterback for Texas. We will have an opportunity to see the depth of the Longhorn signal-callers as both Arch Manning and Maalik Murphy have been getting first team reps this week and may see action this Saturday at home against BYU.

Utah continues to impose their will on other members of the Pac-12 and the Utes are hoping to continue that trend against Oregon this weekend. The crew finds it fitting that in the last year of the Pac-12, the Utes have stayed on brand as the meat-grinder of the conference.

The guys turn their focus to the latest from this summer’s wave of announced conference realignment maneuvers. Oregon State and Washington State are continuing to fight for Pac-12 assets that will remain once conference deserters UCLA, USC, Washington and Oregon have left. Additionally, the Big 12 could be looking to bolster their already great basketball league with the addition of Gonzaga.

The crew discusses how Notre Dame’s Marcus Freeman was able to turn the tables on a reporter, who coaches his son in flag football, in his latest press conference.

Lastly, the podcast takes a deep dive into the latest potential Bigfoot sighting captured on video from a train in Wyoming.

Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellenger & SI’s Pat Forde break down this weekend’s biggest games, upsets & news coming out of Week 8 in the college football season.

Ohio State came out on top over Penn State in a highly anticipated Big Ten matchup. The crew questions whether James Franklin will ever be able to win the big game when it matters most. Meanwhile, Ohio State’s defense shined in this win making Penn State’s offense look disjointed and shaky.

The Utah Utes took care of business by taking down USC in a big Pac-12 matchup. Lincoln Riley’s team is now effectively removed from College Football Playoff contention and the situation leaves USC fans wondering what could have been this season. With a pending move to the Big Ten, the guys suggest that Lincoln Riley needs to build a tougher team for the much tougher conference.

Alabama and Nick Saban proved that they are still alive this year after crushing Tennessee at home. Great coaches find a way to win the tough games, and Saban showed that in the second half after trailing the Volunteers in the first.

Michigan taking on Michigan State was a wild one. Aside from the 49-0 rout that Michigan delivered, the fan antics and scoreboard graphics provided a confusing environment. The Michigan sign stealing investigation has also progressed. Dan gives his theory as to what really took place with the alleged sign stealing and tries to provide some clarity to those still puzzled about what reporting the news actually entails.

Iowa took a tough loss this week as a a punt return touchdown late in the 4th quarter was overturned after officials ruled a fair catch was signaled prior to the return.

There may be hope for Mario Cristobal yet as Miami took a win over Dabo Swinney’s Clemson team. The Hurricanes will try to build off this momentum for the rest of the season heading into 2024.

Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellenger & SI’s Pat Forde kick off the podcast detailing new allegations around Jim Harbaugh in Michigan football, in which the NCAA is investigating the team illegally sending advance scouts to steal signs and gain other competitive advantages.

Dan & Ross broke today’s blockbuster news, and while there are no rules against stealing signs in-game, there are rules about in-person scouting and sign stealing using electronic transmissions. The podcast reacts to the news and how this could add a cloud to Michigan’s current football season and stain seasons past. Pat wonders whether or not Michigan are high frequency cheaters or just really bad at getting away with it. While the narrative of the season has definitely changed for Michigan, the guys debate what the next move for Jim Harbaugh is if this investigation is proven to be accurate.

Moving away from the Michigan scandal, Week 8 has some interesting games to keep an eye on. There is a big MAC matchup between Toledo & Miami of Ohio, Minnesota and Iowa are squaring off in an expected low-scoring affair & we get the Hugh Freeze bowl in a matchup between Auburn and Ole Miss.

Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellenger & SI’s Pat Forde take a look into this weekend’s most interesting game between Big Ten rivals Ohio State and Penn State before diving into a bevy of other college football news.

Both Ryan Day and James Franklin need a win this weekend to keep their playoff hopes alive but the guys question which coach needs it more. James Franklin has yet to get his signature win at Penn State and beating Ohio State this year could give him just that. Ryan Day has been feeling the pressure after dropping two in a row to Michigan, and a loss to Penn State could put him on the hot seat for the Buckeye faithful.

We get a rematch of one of last season’s craziest games on Saturday when Tennessee squares off with Alabama again. The tone of this game is different as neither team is equipped for another high-scoring affair, so the winning team needs do it in the trenches. The expectations for Alabama are significantly higher than Tennessee’s right now, so Nick Saban doesn’t want to lose two-in-a-row to the Volunteers.

Georgia’s star tight end for Brock Bowers was injured in last week’s game against Vanderbilt. Bowers is expected to undergo ankle surgery in hopes to return to the team before the College Football Playoff.

South Carolina coach Shane Beamer had an injury of his own this past weekend after kicking something that he shouldn’t have after losing a tight game to Florida and breaking a bone in his foot.

The guys turn their focus to Dabo Swinney, who spoke out about the expectations that are put on the Clemson football team. Swinney doesn’t like that the perception that teams are losers if they’re not undefeated and hopes that a down-year can lighten up the Clemson bandwagon. After many successful seasons at Clemson, Dabo’s biggest problem seems to be that he was too successful in years past.

The 10th Congressional NIL hearing took place on Tuesday and the guys tracked it intently. Ross was in attendance and got to report on the theatrics, as well as have a conversation with Notre Dame athletic director Jack Swarbrick, who believes that collective bargaining for student athletes may be coming sooner than we speak. The crew debates the pros and cons of having student athletes be considered employees and why this matter has even been elevated to the halls of congress.

To close out the podcast, the world now has a new record for the spiciest pepper, as a report came out detailing the process of creating ‘Pepper X’ & the potentially dangerous aftermath of consuming it.

Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellenger & SI’s Pat Forde react to all of the major games that took place this weekend in college football as quite a handful of ranked teams suffered a loss on Saturday.

The Washington Huskies took home a win in a game-of-the-year candidate against the Oregon Ducks. With all of the high-powered offensive fireworks, along with the in-conference rivalry, there was a lot to break down from the matchup. Dan Lanning’s decision-making on 4th downs confused the guys as his system has not worked well enough in close games against good opponents and a key turnover on downs gave the Washington offense a short field in the eventual game-winning drive.

Marcus Freeman’s system worked against USC as the Fighting Irish took down the Trojans 48-20. USC was a mess in this game and Notre Dame took advantage of it by consistently turning over Caleb Williams and executing on special teams.

The cream is starting to rise a bit in the SEC as Tennessee staved off Texas A&M, Alabama beat Arkansas, & Missouri took down Kentucky.

The Colorado Buffaloes had a tough one on Friday night as they lost to Stanford after leading by as much as 29 points in the game. The guys determine that this is a loss where things could falls apart for the Buffs and that Coach Deion Sanders needs to get past this as soon as possible or Colorado could miss bowl season.

The Iowa Hawkeyes went on the road and beat Wisconsin with punting, defense and 2 catches from wide receivers. Kirk Ferentz is simultaneously on the hottest and coldest seats in college football thanks to his 6-1 record, yet having an offense so bad that it could squander a championship-caliber defense.

To the guys’ dismay, Grazer won Fat Bear Week with a record setting performance over runner-up Chunk.

Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellenger & SI’s Pat Forde pick the biggest college football matchups in week 7 against the spread in this week’s Race for the Case.

Before their picks, the hosts break down the latest in the NCAA’s case against the Kansas Jayhawks basketball team as well as how it caused the IARP to shut down. After six years, a ruling on the five Level I infractions against Kansas has been determined and Bill Self is walking away unscathed. The IARP will be remembered as an abject failure as anyone who faced it went virtually unpunished. Dan provides his idea for what Charlie Baker should present to Congress next. A full restart and clean slate may be necessary for this new regime to try and earn some credibility.

Week 7 has a bundle of interesting games so the pod decides to go through their favorite watches for the upcoming weekend, including the battle for the Big Ten West, the anniversary of a 0-0 regulation game & the matchup for first place in the Mountain West.

The University of Washington’s new AD Troy Dannen made waves after being announced. Dannen decided to chirp Texas and Ohio State, stating that they should win more given the size of their annual budgets.

On his radio show after a tough loss to Georgia, Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops explains that Georgia has been able to buy more talented players due to their reservoir of NIL money. Stoops then attempts to urge Kentucky football fans to help out the program by donating to lure more talent onto the team. Is this a strategy more programs should employ, or is the request a bit tone deaf coming from a coach who is making $8 million a year?

Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh is looking to secure a new contract after taking a pay reduction in 2020. The guys debate whether or not Harbaugh should get the market value top coach contract.

#8 ranked Oregon and #7 ranked Washington headline this weekend’s slate of games. Both teams are equipped with high-powered offenses and such an exciting match up will make fans yearn for more Pac-12 football after this year.

More clarity has been provided following the Miami Hurricanes’ game-losing gaffe against Georgia Tech. Despite the scrutiny and madness centered around him, head coach Mario Cristobal took accountability and was also able to use the situation swing a recruit from Georgia to commit to Miami.

Ross spent Saturday with SEC commissioner Greg Sankey and details his takeaways afterwards. The guys reflect on Sankey’s reign as the SEC commissioner as well as what could be coming next for college athletics.

Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellenger & SI’s Pat Forde break down all the action that took place on a very hectic Saturday of college football.

Mario Cristobal and the Miami Hurricanes lost in shocking fashion to Georgia Tech after a mind-boggling decision to not kneel out the game. Miami had the game locked up, but decided to run a play instead of taking a knee, prompting a fumble and a walk-off touchdown from Georgia Tech.

Alabama shipped off to Texas to take on Texas A&M this Saturday. The Tide were able to leave with a victory & the pod breaks down how it happened as well as the discomfort from Texas A&M fans knowing that they could have stolen a big win.

The Red River Rivalry returned and left us with a good one. The fellas discuss how good of a job Brent Venables has done since last year’s 49-0 drubbing. The Sooners picked up a big win and made the rest of the season much harder for the Longhorns.

Notre Dame appears to have lost its footing as it was upset by Louisville this weekend. Jeff Brohm has done a tremendous job so far and has the Louisville program humming. Notre Dame can’t seem to figure out who it wants to be yet after falling to 5-2 overall.

USC was lucky to escape with a win against a fired-up Arizona team. The USC offense was not clicking & the defense seems to be regressing every week.

The state of Iowa had a good time this weekend as the Hawkeyes got another win to move to 5-1 & the Cyclones decided to have an interesting dinosaur-themed field performance.

The Fat Bear Week committee has been called into question by Dan, as his pick 747 was eliminated from the bracket by Grazer.

To close out the pod, the guys Say Something Nice & give out their Small Sample Heisman candidates.

Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellenger & SI’s Pat Forde pick the biggest Week 6 college football matchups against the spread in this week’s Race for the Case.

Ahead of their official picks, the hosts give an in-depth preview of the big matchup between Alabama and Texas A&M. The old beef between Jimbo Fisher and Nick Saban has evolved interestingly over the years. Which coach needs a win more in this matchup?

Week 6 has some very interesting games, even if they all aren’t ranked matchups, so the guys snake draft their favorites and Ross shares his least watchable game of the week.

In Texas-Oklahoma news, one of the show’s many helpful listeners has provided more context to the infamous Red River Rivalry bar brawl that left one man with 60 stitches.

A sophomore at Oregon is causing a stir due to his emotional support duck that he brought into the Colorado-Oregon game with him. “Quacktavius” the duck is now a pressing matter in Eugene, as many fans are trying to get the duck permission to attend the games, while campus security and the stadium police department have attempted to have the duck removed from official athletic events.

Fat Bear Week returns, so the hosts make their official selections for which bear in the Katmai National Park will gain the most weight ahead of hibernation season.

Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellenger & SI’s Pat Forde determine who needs a win more in the last Big 12 occurrence of the Red River Rivalry game.

Texas and Oklahoma hold the title of the biggest matchup of the weekend. The historic Red River Rivalry gets its Big 12 sendoff with SEC commissioner Greg Sankey expected to be in attendance, possibly to get a look at his two newest programs. The guys debate which team has more at stake in this game: Texas has a legitimate chance at a national title, with no clear buzzsaw in the SEC to stop them, whereas Oklahoma is trying to carry some momentum into the SEC next year and a big win against #3 ranked Texas could give them just that.

There are plenty of unexpected teams that are 5-0 through September so the guys decide to highlight them and note what they have done well so far. Mike Locksley seems to have his best team yet at Maryland as the Terrapins are undefeated going into October. The Miami Hurricanes have been cruising so far, but they have a tough stretch coming up, so Mario Cristobal needs to keep them sharp. Louisville has been reaping the benefits of their transfer portal additions this offseason as Jeff Brohm has the Cardinals rolling. Eli Drinkwitz has been able to utilize NIL incentives to field a strong team in Missouri, who could send LSU into a bad spiral quickly with a win this weekend.

The Texas State Fair has returned with a new menu filled with some interesting foods, so the show plays another game of Would You Eat It? Items ranging from deep-fried sushi to cereal-coated pickles highlight this year’s offerings.

Ole Miss had to pay LSU $100,000 for fans storming the field after their game in Baton Rouge last weekend. The guys don’t see that amount of money becoming a huge deterrent from stopping passionate and inebriated fans from celebrating on the field.

Lastly, a major saga in fast food gets a resolution as a US District Court Judge provides a verdict on the possible false advertising lawsuit against McDonald’s & Wendy’s.

Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellenger & SI’s Pat Forde review the loaded slate of Week 5 college football games on today’s podcast.

To kick things off, Notre Dame gets a solid bounce-back win against Duke. The Fighting Irish have played in back-to-back rollercoaster games, but come out on top in this one after losing in the final seconds last week to Ohio State.

The Georgia Bulldogs had to lean heavily on star tight end Brock Bowers in order to beat Auburn on Saturday. Auburn showed up to play and made Georgia look a little more vulnerable than everyone projected.

Kentucky had a dominant win over Florida behind Ray Davis’s 280-yard performance on the ground. The podcast imagines how Florida fans must be feeling after seeing other programs rebuild so quickly while trying to remain patient under the Billy Napier regime.

The SEC is a mess this year and there is no clear favorite to win the west division. The guys analyze who could come out on top at the end of the season and separate from the rest of the pack.

Ole Miss won in an epic shootout against LSU on Saturday. The Rebels took advantage of LSU’s weak secondary and put Brian Kelly on the warm seat in Baton Rouge.

Caleb Williams dominated in a big win over Colorado. Coach Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes tried to climb back in it, but the USC offense just couldn’t be stopped. The USC defense, on the other hand, raises a lot of questions about whether or not they can really compete for a title.

The Red River rivalry returns next week with a now 5-0 Texas Longhorns team facing off against a 5-0 Oklahoma Sooners team. This should be the game of the week, so the guys look ahead as the two teams face off for the final time as members of the Big 12.

In other news, Dan, Ross & Pat reflect on the infamous murder of Tupac Shakur 27 years ago, and the arrest of his alleged killer Duane “Keffe D” Davis this week in Las Vegas.

To close out the episode, the guys provide a Brian Ferentz scoring update, give thoughts on a sleepy Penn State team, they Say Something Nice & give out their Small Sample Heisman candidates.

Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellenger & SI’s Pat Forde pick the biggest Week 5 matchups in college football against the spread in this week’s Race for the Case.

Before making their official picks, the guys dive back into the Ryan Day vs. Lou Holtz saga. Ryan Day’s post-game outburst after beating Notre Dame seems to be stemming from a place other than Lou Holtz. The guys settle on one thing: if Ohio State wants to stop hearing comments about how they lose to more physical teams, they need to start by beating Michigan this year.

Later, the guys run through a handful of make-or-break SEC games that will undoubtedly affect the chase for the playoffs now that October is right around the corner.

Colorado coach Deion Sanders spoke in a press conference this week and was asked about cornerback Cormani McClain’s lack of playing time. Coach Prime opened up and explained that McClain hasn’t prepared himself enough to garner more snaps on the field. The crew is taken aback by Sanders’ honesty, as not many college football coaches will explicitly say that their 5-star recruit hasn’t applied himself enough.

Ross provides an update from the latest College Football Playoff meetings, along with an update on the possibility of Army joining the American Athletic Conference in the future.

The People’s Court returns with two cases: first, did New Mexico State QB Diego Pavia urinate on the practice field logo of in-state rival New Mexico? Secondly, the guys go through details a man being denied entry to a Philadelphia Phillies game due to his emotional support alligator.

Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellenger & SI’s Pat Forde react to Marcus Freeman’s explanation of his coaching gaffe versus Ohio State last Saturday and preview Notre Dame’s upcoming matchup with Duke.

After a tough loss to Ohio State last weekend, Notre Dame is looking to bounce back. With playoff hopes still alive, the Fighting Irish have to stave off an athletic and well-coached Duke football program. Duke’s Riley Leonard and Mike Elko have been strong this season and the Blue Devils could be very well playing for the ACC championship late in the season with this squad.

This week’s Big Ten football slate is a good example of why TV executives and the conference wanted to expand. The uninspiring matchups should be reduced with new exciting teams entering the conference, but the show questions why the mid-level Big Ten teams wanted the expansion while knowing their fate would be to relegated out of these major nationally televised matchups.

Florida State was ranked #5 in this week’s AP poll. The guys debate this ranking as FSU has had the best resume through 4 weeks of college football, while Georgia and Michigan have yet to play a worthy opponent to earn a top-2 spot.

Ross is attending College Football Playoff meetings this week as the committee decides how they want to handle automatic bids for the expanded 12-team playoff. Group of Five commissioners obviously want 6 automatic bids, while the Power Five is interested in getting more of their teams in the bracket. How will the future of the tournament shake out?

Oregon football released a movie-style recap of their win over Colorado. In the video, Ducks coach Dan Lanning stated, “I’ve never seen a redwood stand alone,” leading the podcast down the botany rabbit hole.

This week, Dan constructed the 12-team playoff bracket as if it were in effect this season. The major players involved would make the games fantastic, but the neutral site bowls in the second-round could still detract from the true feeling of the sport.

Lastly, a new national champion was crowned from Texas Tech: Cletus Johnson in something known as blade sport.

Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellenger & SI’s Pat Forde review a conflict-filled week of college football.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish hosted the Ohio State Buckeyes in an incredibly tough game that went down to the wire. Ohio State pulled off the win on the very last play of the game, partially due to a Marcus Freeman oversight, and let the world know about it. After receiving some criticism from Lou Holtz, Ryan Day fired back at the legendary coach in his postgame interview, leaving the guys in awe.

Florida State was able to get past Clemson in overtime on Saturday. The Seminoles defense showed up when they needed it thanks in part to their transfer portal star recruit Keon Coleman, who caught the game-winning touchdown.

Coach Deion Sanders and Colorado traveled up to Eugene and left with a bad taste in their mouths after losing 42-6 to the Oregon Ducks. The guys provide their thoughts on the lack of Colorado offense as well as Dan Lanning’s passionate pregame speech about the Buffs.

The battle of the Pac-2 came down to the wire as Washington State held off a feverish comeback from Oregon State on the back of quarterback Cam Ward. Washington State head coach had words for Lee Corso, after believing that the College Football Gameday host had called the game “nobody watches bowl” instead of the intended “nobody wants them bowl.”

Texas A&M had a big win against Auburn, holding the Hugh Freeze-led offense to under 200 total yards with a suffocating defensive performance.

Alabama took care of business and made the Lane Kiffin-led Ole Miss Rebels look like they were being led by Lane Kiffin. Alabama’s meat and potatoes approach wore down Ole Miss and surely hindered their hopes for a playoff berth as well.

Penn State looked very sharp against Iowa, leaving them scoreless in a 41-0 drubbing in Happy Valley.

To close out the show, the show provides their Innovative Play of the Week, they Say Something Nice and gives out their Small Sample Heisman candidates.

Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellenger & SI’s Pat Forde pick the biggest Week 4 college football games against the spread in this week’s Race for the Case episode.

Before they get to the games, the podcast reflects on the massive ratings number that the Colorado State/Colorado game drew on ESPN last Saturday night. The game eclipsed 9 million viewers so the guys determine whether Colorado can keep that viewership up and how long the Coach Prime effect can last.

In new meetings, the Pac-12 has been exploring the option of creating a relegation-style football conference. The popular format used in European soccer has excited American fans for years, and the guys wonder how it would operate in football.

Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellenger & SI’s Pat Forde examine the biggest powerhouse matchups for this coming weekend of college football action.

The rising Notre Dame Fighting Irish will be facing off with the #6 ranked Ohio State Buckeyes. This has the potential to be a career-defining game for Marcus Freeman as a win could push him out of Brian Kelly’s shadow.

The #10 ranked Oregon Ducks are hosting the #19 ranked Colorado Buffaloes on Saturday in a big Pac-12 matchup. With the latest news of Travis Hunter’s injury sidelining him for the next 3-4 weeks, the guys believe the Ducks may be too much to handle for Colorado.

Lane Kiffin isn’t heading into Alabama quietly as the Ole Miss head coach pulled off two troll jobs on the Crimson Tide already. Kiffin started stirring the pot by stating that he had a source in Tuscaloosa who told him that Alabama defensive coordinator Kevin Steele was not calling the plays for Alabama’s defense. This statement earned a quick response from Nick Saban, who rejected the claim. Kiffin also posted a video of Taylor Swift performing her song ‘Castles Crumbling’. The song has lyrics indicative of a power falling from grace and the end of a dynasty. Another shot at Saban and a not as dominant Alabama squad?

The ACC has a huge matchup this weekend between #4 ranked Florida State and Clemson. The show notes that this could be the chance for Mike Norvell and Florida State to finally get back to the top of the ACC by taking down Clemson.

In the Big Ten, Michigan State has announced that they are starting the process of firing head football coach Mel Tucker, following allegations of an inappropriate relationship with a female staff member. Pat & Dan dive back into the saga and believe that this will truly be the end of Tucker at MSU.

Lastly, the People’s Court takes on a case surrounding a Florida Man, an excavator and a Walmart.

Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellenger & SI’s Pat Forde recap all of the action that took place this weekend in college football.

Coach Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes won a shootout against in-state rival Colorado State. The podcast dives into the pre-game chippiness along with the impact that Shedeur Sanders makes on the Buffaloes offense.

The Tennessee Volunteers left Florida with a bad taste in their mouth after getting upset by the Florida Gators. The sloppy Tennessee offense couldn’t keep up with Billy Napier’s squad and gave Napier his first signature win as the Florida coach.

Alabama beat USF this weekend, but did not look very good doing it. The QB rotation of Tyler Buchner and Ty Simpson could not score or move the ball very effectively, leading the show to question what the best move going forward is for the Crimson Tide.

In other games, the Georgia Bulldogs looked a bit more human this week vs South Carolina. The departure of Todd Monken and Stetson Bennett seems to be taking more of an impact than expected. Also, the West Virginia Mountaineers defended their home turf this week against Pitt in the Backward Brawl. Next, Fresno State receives praise from the guys after beating Arizona State 29-0. The Bulldogs are now the only team to have two wins against ranked teams on the road this season.

Back in Iowa, Brian Ferentz and the Iowa Hawkeyes put up big numbers against Western Michigan. After the 41-point performance, Iowa’s offense is averaging over 25 points per game and Ferentz’ much-publicized contract incentives appear to be on-track.

Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellenger & SI’s Pat Forde pick their favorite college football Week 3 games against the spread in this week’s Race for the Case.

Before their official picks, the show dives into the details of UNC’s Tez Walker’s appeal for NCAA eligibility this season. After Walker’s appeal was denied, UNC head coach Mack Brown spoke out against the NCAA and the rules that are preventing Walker from suiting up this season.

Alabama is playing USF this weekend in a rare Power Five vs. Group of Five matchup in Tampa Bay. The Crimson Tide aren’t strangers to games in Florida & the guys hope that fans can get more interesting matchups like this in the future.

Ahead of the next wave of realignment, ESPN’s Paul Finebaum stated that Florida State is not on the SEC’s wishlist of schools to add to their conference. With an already strong presence in Florida, the SEC’s sights are set on new states to expand into.

Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellenger & SI’s Pat Forde react to Mel Tucker’s response to the Title IX investigation and predict possible successors in the event that Tucker is let go from the Spartans.

Michigan State’s Mel Tucker responded to the news surrounding his Title IX investigation and had a different stance than Brenda Tracy, the woman who he is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with. The guys still believe there is little to no chance that Tucker returns to Michigan State, so they go through possible candidates looking to make a splash in the Big Ten.

With all the negativity from coaches and athletic directors in regards to NIL and the transfer portal, Dan decides to do some research and see if it’s impacting parity within college football. Dan explains that the top recruits in the nation are increasingly going to a wider variety of programs and the guys figure the phenomenon stems from universities’ desires for star players and athletes’ desires for earlier playing time.

Week 3 of college football has an odd slate of games, and weeks like this will only increase due to scheduling stubbornness and trying to beat the bottom line. The guys share frustration that the Louisville and Indiana series will only take place this year due to Indiana backing out to play an additional home game vs Indiana State.

The Pac-2 (Oregon State and Washington State) is suing the rest of the former Pac-12 to try and prevent them from a majority vote on the final details regarding their departure. There is another hearing expected in October to determine whether or not the schools that are leaving the conference will be able to have a say in the final matters.

Michigan’s Jim Harbaugh had a big day off on Saturday. The crew revels in his lawn care routine along with a Harbaugh-esque speech he gave to a youth football team.

Lastly, the People’s Court returns as Burger King is being sued over a disparity in size between their actual Whopper sandwich and the advertisements shown in restaurants.

Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellenger & SI’s Pat Forde run through all of the biggest college football games from Week 2 along with the latest from the Mel Tucker scandal at Michigan State.

Michigan State head coach Mel Tucker has ended up in a Title IX investigation after information surfaced about a possible inappropriate relationship with a colleague at Michigan State. The guys examine the details of the possible misconduct & provide their analysis of where Michigan State and Mel Tucker should go from here.

The Texas Longhorns made a trip to Tuscaloosa to play the Alabama Crimson Tide and walked out with a convincing win. Steve Sarkisian & company were effective in all phases of the game and shocked the college football world with a 34-24 victory.

Coach Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes kept the train rolling after beating Nebraska on Saturday to advance to 2-0. While Nebraska played disciplined defense, the Cornhuskers couldn’t keep up with Shedeur Sanders, Travis Hunter and the rest of this new-look Buffaloes team under Coach prime.

Mario Cristobal had the Miami Hurricanes ready for action on Saturday as they trounced Texas A&M, thanks to a five touchdown performance from QB Tyler Van Dyke. Could this Miami squad be competing for an ACC title this season? The guys weigh the possibility.

Notre Dame continues to look sharp after blowing out NC State 45-24. Even after a long weather delay, the Fighting Irish were able to stay hot and make the case that they’re a legitimate championship contender.

Iowa and Brian Ferentz were able to beat Iowa State this week, but the Hawkeyes have still yet to eclipse 25 points per game so far this season. The guys question if Ferentz will be able to get the program over the coveted 25 points per game threshold to unlock his contract.

To start the podcast, the guys discuss the upcoming matchup between Nebraska and Colorado. How many snaps Travis Hunter can realistically play? How can Nebraska leave Boulder with a win over the surprisingly 1-0 Buffaloes?

In a recent GQ feature about his son, Carl Williams, father of USC quarterback Caleb Williams, stated that his son may not want to play for a dysfunctional team in the NFL. Carl Williams also believes that the draft system in the NFL is completely backwards and notes the possibility of Caleb returning to USC in hopes of landing on a more desirable NFL team in 2025.

The guys later turn their sights towards coaching salaries. A new study shows rising pay for coaching staffs is soon to push past a tipping point, wherein salaries for the coaches alone will soon exceed how much universities are spending for their athletic programs in total. Dan, Ross & Pat wonder how coaches can keep on complaining about this sport while their bank accounts trend in a skyward direction

Moving onto the intersection of conference realignment and cold hard cash, SMU’s boosters have bought them into the ACC with remarkable confidence. In a meeting with Jim Phillips, the Texas tycoons showed that they have the means to join the conference without receiving any TV money for the next 9 years.

Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellenger & SI’s Pat Forde highlight the biggest matchups in Week 2 of college football including Alabama vs. Texas, Texas A&M vs. Miami, & Colorado vs. Nebraska.

To kick off the podcast, former colleagues go to battle this Saturday in Tuscaloosa as Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide host Steve Sarkisian and the Texas Longhorns. Can Texas pull off the upset? Will Alabama relegate Texas’ marching band to the nosebleed section? We will find out for sure on Saturday.

In other big Saturday matchups, Texas A&M squares off against Miami in a true ladder game, while recently-ranked Colorado hosts Nebraska this weekend. The guys question why Colorado is ranked so low and what more they need to do in order to climb up the national polls.

In the final game of Week 1, the Duke Blue Devils upset the #9 ranked Clemson Tigers, shocking the college football world. The show debates who is at fault for Clemson’s stumble while crediting Duke for being much improved over the last two seasons.

LSU Tigers head coach Brian Kelly has recently denied that he claimed LSU would beat FSU, although audio from his radio show proves otherwise, leading to a very confusing denial.

Later in the show, Dan bestows a new theme song onto the remaining members of the Pac-2 in the hopes they can find a new home. Also, Purdue made waves by losing to Fresno State last weekend, but they may have bounced back after being able to create the world’s smallest drum.

Lastly, a flight from Atlanta to Barcelona had to be turned around after an unfortunate mid-flight accident.

Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellenger & SI’s Pat Forde lead off a special Labor Day edition of the College Football Enquirer with thoughts on all the biggest games and stories to come out of Week 1.

On Sunday night, the Florida State Seminoles faced off against the LSU Tigers in Orlando. The most anticipated matchup of Week 1 turned out to be a classic drubbing by the end of the game, as Florida State handled business, leaving Brian Kelly and company wondering what they need to do to bounce back from this early season loss.

Big things are happening in Boulder as Coach Deion Sanders led the Buffaloes into battle against TCU to get their first win of the season. Travis Hunter & Shedeur Sanders proved that this Colorado team is here to compete after their dynamic performances in this major Week 1 upset.

The SEC had a tough Week 1 as the conference ended up 1-3 vs Power Five opponents. Tennessee took the sole victory over Virginia, but Florida, South Carolina & LSU dropped their first games. The guys discuss how strong this conference will be this season top to bottom.

Further north, the Big Ten looked sharp this weekend as Penn State, Ohio State & Michigan all picked up wins to open their seasons. The guys were impressed by Penn State’s Drew Allar, had some concerns for Ohio State’s Kyle McCord and mixed reviews for Michigan’s tribute to Jim Harbaugh.

To close out the podcast, the crew wraps up with a trio of segments: Innovative Plays of the Week, Small Sample Heisman & Say Something Nice.
