BTW-remember that stickfight between the Tri-City Americans & the Seattle T-Birds fans? Steve was there. The former Kings draft pick became an IHL mainstayin the 90's providing a physical presence on the blueline for multiple teams, including the Salt Lake Golden Eagles who in 1993-94 were the primary minor league affiliate for the New York Islanders This is part two. DeFazio annually put up solid numbers & was one of the premier power-forwards during his AHL tenure, earning him time in "the Show" with Vancouver. The second part of his career is something I call the "Brandon DeFazio World Tour". If you're looking for inspiration, look no further as this is the story of a player who was never drafted into the OHL, never drafted into the NHL but worked his ass off & achieved his ultimate goal. After a stellar high school career in hockey-mad Minnesota, "Turbo" went to the University of Alaska Anchorage and later turned pro. Dean spent part of his first pro season in Troy, NY playing for the Capital District Islanders where he amassed 65 PIMs in 22 games. His professional travels would take him to such places as Salt Lake City, Richmond, Detroit, Grand Rapids, Milwaukee and back to Anchorage. While not the biggest guy on the ice, he always played like a giant. If you've never seen him play, think of a style similar to Kevin "Killer" Kaminski. Joey worked his way up through the Long Island hockey scene to one one of the biggest college programs in the country to playing pro with several teams including the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Joey did something most Long Island kids could only dream of, signing a contract with the New York Islanders & seeing his last name on a Islanders jersey hanging in the locker room. Joey's hockey journey is a great one & I hope you people enjoy it!

Webby spent the majority of the 1995-96 season with Muskegon of the CoHL...basically an universe away from the NHL. Thanks for tuning in everybody! Today I welcome Ken "Bam Bam" Belanger to the Penalty Box. Kenny played parts of three seasons with the Islanders organization & battled all the big boys. In 71 games he scored 8 points and accumulated 260 PIMs. Overall, the former AHL All-Star is a veteran of 248 NHL games, totaled 695 NHL PIMs and he doled out a boatload a beatdowns. Ken has also done very well for himself post-hockey which you'll hear about as well. Ken was a fantastic guest & I hope you people enjoy it!

Later Rod spent several years in the Islanders organization and was a key contributor on the Springfield Indians 1989-90 Calder Cup championship squad. Drew spent two seasons in the Islanders organization playing 8 games with the big club scoring a goal, an assist & 9 PIMs. He also played in one playoff game as well. He really made an impact with Bridgeport playing in 135 games, scoring 24 points and amassing 382 PIMs (good for 10th all-time in franchise history). He also dropped the gloves 24 times as a Sound Tiger. This was a fun one for me & I hope you people enjoy it!

"Gally" was patrolling the ice at Webster Bank Arena for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in 2014-15 coming off a 2013-14 season where he was rewarded for his hard work with a 4-game stint here with the Islanders. Brett is the Bridgeport Sound Tigers all-time leader in penalty minutes with 857 and fighting majors with 83. All that damage in only 187 games.
