| (051) Special Episode: Coffee With Jesus Remembers 9-11 (2022) | 11 Sep 2022 | 00:03:41 | |
About 21 years ago, about this time, our host, Todd Uebele was sitting down to dinner onboard the USS Carl Vinson, somewhere in the middle of the Arabian Sea. One of the pilots there mentioned that a plane had hit one of the twin towers. At first, it was thought there a small plane, like a Cessna and an error by pilot. As they were watching the news, however, our host saw the second plane strike. A short while later, out on the flight deck as all planes were recovered and made "best speed" made going northward. They had just relieved the Enterprise Battle Group, who were turned around and became part of our task force. Our host was immediately drafted to serve on the Admiral's staff and watched as our Task Force doubled and then quadrupled in size. He stood on the flag bridge and watched the very first planes launch for Operation Enduring Freedom. A friend on a nearby cruiser sent over videos of the very first tomahawk launch. While our host is very proud of what he did, it pales in comparison to the first responders and civilian volunteers who literally ran into danger. Firefighters, Police Officers, EMT's, civilian volunteers. They are the real heroes and heroines. So many sacrificed themselves to help and save others. Sometime after the terrorist attack (the first few weeks are all a blur), the Secretary of the Navy came to the Carl Vinson to address the crew. At the very end, when he looked around the hangar bay, he seemed to look at each crew member as he challenged them: "Never Forget." ==========

| (041) S2, Ep. 20: Rain or Rockets, God is There | 03 May 2022 | 00:17:19 | |
It happened right after breakfast. A thundering and loud BOOM shook a military base in Afghanistan. There was dust everywhere, like that of an enraged sandstorm. Shattered buildings, walls caved in, and a video revealed the story of how 1,500 pounds of high explosives threatened the lives of those in the military base. But there was a burnt and twisted piece of metal from that vehicle-borne improvised explosive device that revealed another story. Our host kept that twisted metal piece as a reminder of God’s protection for him. In this episode, Todd takes a deep breath and describes what happened that morning. Through his story, he reminds us that regardless of how big or small our problems may seem, God is there for us. Listen to this episode to see how God carries us through the storms of this life. Do not let the storms of this life overwhelm you. Reach out to Him. Be encouraged to take your problems to God, whether big or small. ==========

| (036) S2, Ep. 17: How Do You Stop All-Consuming Anxiety? | 22 Mar 2022 | 00:23:38 | |
The amount of constant decision-making we have to do every day is insane. It is aggravated by the things occurring in the world around us—things that we have no control of whatsoever. The worry we felt yesterday may have increased to stress today, and by tomorrow, anxiety may be taking over. So, how can we stop anxiety when it shows up? We know God promised us peace beyond all understanding. Yet, how do we get there? In this episode, our hosts Todd and Sara go over the blueprint to tackle anxiety when it shows up: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7) Listen to this episode to learn a practical way to apply that verse to your day-to-day life. No problem is too big or too small for God to care about it. God cares about you. So, do not be anxious; present your case to God through prayer and thanksgiving. He longs to hear your requests; let him help you. ==========

They will not only share their own struggles with being still, but they will also share ways they have found to overcome and to simply "be." Sometimes we go through stressful and difficult times that we find ourselves trapped in a whirlwind with no idea how everything will turn out. It is hard to see God’s helping hand because everything is out of control, crumbling around us. How can we be sure that God will always come through and help us when hardship overwhelms us? This episode opens up with an assurance that God, our Father, gave us: “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1) This is a powerful and refreshing promise. God wants you to see Him as your refuge, your strength, and your ever-present help. In this episode, our host Todd shares a story of a time when he and his family were going through a very chaotic time. It was one of those moments in life when suddenly everything started crumbling and going downhill so fast. He needed help badly. So he held on to that promise in Psalm 46, and… Listen to the episode to see how God was Todd’s refuge, his strength, and his ever-present help amid chaos and lies of hopelessness. Be encouraged to hear the different ways God shows that He is present, how He moves, and how he helps us when we feel surrounded by troubles and at the end of our resources. | (030) S2, Ep. 12: The Ministry of Presence – The Call of Chaplains | 25 Jan 2022 | 00:25:54
It’s been almost three hours, and a murder victim still lays on the street in Kansas City. Two investigators are taking pictures from every angle. A crew is mounting laser scanners in tripods to record images to build a 3D photographic model of the scene. In a corner, there’s a grieving family in shock and despair. Why does their loved one still lay there? What’s going on? Then someone approaches the family and carefully explains every intricate proceeding of what’s happening—bringing them a bit of clarity into the chaos they are already experiencing. That mysterious person listens attentively to them and answers some of their questions. Someone is present… just for them. And that presence brings a little breath of comfort amid chaos. That mysterious person is a chaplain—someone providing emotional support or spiritual care in whatever context you can think of. In this episode, our guest speaker, Jared Altic, is a full-time pastor of a church in Kansas City. He volunteers as a chaplain with the local Police Department. As a chaplain, he provides short-term services for people in crisis (in any scene involving homicide, suicide, or unattended death). He also offers long-term support and spiritual care to police officers and other first responders coping with the toll of the job or other personal matters. Listen to this revealing episode to immerse yourself in the call of chaplains. Discover how the ministry of presence looks like and how impactful it is. Want to know more? If God is an all-powerful God… Why does God allow bad things to happen? Yes. Our God is powerful, omniscient, and omnipresent. He can stop the rain. However, sometimes God allows the rain to continue. But why? Why would God allow his people to go through storms? Listen to this episode to find out why God would allow his children to go through difficult times. Our host, Todd, will share with us three different reasons and discuss each one of them in the light of the Scriptures. Join Todd in this conversation and take heart... | (026) S2, Ep. 8: God Meets You Where You Are, Part 2 | 23 Nov 2021 | 00:21:12
“You never know Jesus is all you need until Jesus is all you have,”—Special Guest, Michele Dalton. It was 1990, the night after Thanksgiving when a 1974 Ford Bronco hit Michelle’s car head-on while she was at a stop sign. The fallout over the next year was extraordinary. After six months in a wheelchair, Michelle couldn’t find a job; she had no money; she couldn’t afford to go back to college, and debt engulfed her. Her faith in God and the power of worship comforted her and carried her through that season. With time and through God’s fingerprints—she will tell you what this means—she found an agency that saw great talent in her and trained her as a graphic designer. This opportunity opened a new career for her. Then in 2016, another car accident had her pinned to the passenger seat with a 2,500-pounds black Jeep Cherokee on her lap. In this accident, she never blacked out. Thus, the memory of it all made the experience more traumatic. She found herself again in pain and with doctors telling her that she was never going to walk. But once again, God came alongside her to face that struggle and turn hopelessness into strength, purpose, and direction. Michelle shares with us the short prayer she muttered during that second accident while waiting to be rescued: “Jesus, save us.” And He did. God met her where she was and restored her. Listen to this episode and let Michele tell you how God stuck around her side and saw her through. Discover how God made beauty from the ashes. From the struggle, a new passion ignited in Michelle—writing. She’s now sowing hope and helping those who are dealing with isolation, disappointment, and depression to find the joy of the Lord. ==========

| (024) S2, Ep. 6: Are We in the End Times? | 02 Nov 2021 | 00:15:59 | |
Are we really in the end times? This question seems to be more and more relevant. Join us as our host, Todd Uebele, guides us through this topic introducing the different schools of interpretation for Biblical eschatology. Then he takes us to Matthew 24:14-23 and Revelation 6:6. He then provides two key pointers to help us determine if we are in the end times:
Our host gives us a glimpse of the birth pains that Jesus mentioned in Matthew 24 and of the seven seals in the book of Revelation. He discusses some events and where we are right now in the light of the Scriptures. One point of emphasis he makes: even though nobody knows the time or the hour of Jesus' return, we know that He will return. So, are we in the end times? No matter how we answer this question, the implication is… Where do we go from here? For the elect, Jesus’ followers, keep sharing in love the good news of the Gospel with those who are not followers; be watchful and ready. For those who are not yet followers, there is still HOPE. There's a refreshing gift of salvation, peace, and joy that Jesus already paid for. ==========

| Contributor Spotlight: Elizabeth Bristol | 02 Dec 2025 | 00:31:25 | |
Welcome to Coffee With Jesus Contributor Spotlight! This month, we shine the spotlight on Elizabeth B. Bristol. Elizabeth Bristol is an esteemed author. While working as a missionary in Palestine and Mozambique, Elizabeth found purpose for her wanderlust. She loved feeding people and spending a night each week on top of the Mount of Temptation fasting and praying. She loved the miracles and healings she saw, even though she often wondered, Will I live through this? She’d always thought hanging out with God would be boring and she’d have no cool friends. What a big lie that turned out to be. She’s driven across the country 48 times often arriving at “just the right time” to process a road-killed moose or throw on a hoop skirt and dance the Virginia Reel at a Civil War reenactment. She’s spoken to all kinds of groups and worked as a camp counselor where she created a virtual mission trip for kids. ==========
