| Trent Rivers Becomes An Eagle | 17 oct. 2026 | 00:14:52 | |
Trent Rivers lands at West Coast. Wing, halfback or inside mid? His 2027 AFL Fantasy and SuperCoach value hinges on one call. Rivers averaged 78.9 in SuperCoach and 76.6 in AFL Fantasy in 2026, mostly off a wing in a direct Melbourne side. Across his career he’s posted multiple seasons in the mid 80s. So there’s a scorer in there. The question is whether the Eagles hand him the role to unlock it. I break down why his versatility has been his strength and his ceiling. I look at where he fits with Jack Viney arriving, Harley Reid driving the midfield, and the battle for the halfback playmaker spot. Then there’s the Tom McCarthy domino. Plus, why Melbourne were comfortable letting him go with picks 4 and 14 in hand. My verdict: he’s a low-risk draft pick with real upside. For classic, I’m not jumping unless he locks down that plum halfback role. Social Media: Facebook
| Jack Viney Traded to West Coast: Value Mid or 2027 AFL Fantasy & SuperCoach Trap? | 15 oct. 2026 | 00:12:42 | |
Jack Viney lands at West Coast with a full price discount for 2027. Is he a starting squad value mid or just one to watch? Viney didn’t play a home and away game in 2026. That means he gets the full discount off his high 80s average from 2025. On paper, that’s value. But to make him a genuine starting squad pick, he needs to go 90 to 95 at his new club. I break down what Viney brings to the Eagles, how he frees up Elliot Yeo to play a more versatile role, and why Melbourne were already prepared to move on. Then we get to the part that matters for your side: where Viney sits in the 2027 value mid conversation. His selection won’t just come down to his own role. It depends on what other value mids pop up over the preseason. Classic and Draft coaches will see him very differently. Social Media: Facebook
| Luke Pedlar Joins Port Adelaide | 15 oct. 2026 | 00:09:58 | |
Luke Pedlar is a Port Adelaide player. Here's what the trade means for AFL Fantasy and SuperCoach in 2027. Pedlar has crossed from the Crows to Alberton, and the showdowns just got spicier. He's a first round pick from the 2020 draft who's played 23 games in three seasons and never more than 10 in a year. Injuries have crushed him. The talent hasn't gone anywhere. Port's midfield is wide open with Butters gone. It's Horne-Francis's midfield now, and I run through who fits around him: Rozee, Jase Burgoyne, Richards, Bergman, Berry. Then the real question. Has Pedlar been sold an inside mid role, or the same pressure forward gig he had at Adelaide? For fantasy, he's coming off a mid-40s average with a discount on top and forward status. If he's fit and running through the midfield this preseason, you've got a high-30s to low-40s priced forward who can sit at F4, score 70s and 80s, and make you cash. Two ifs. Both worth watching. | Will McLachlan Traded to Melbourne Demons | 14 oct. 2026 | 00:09:53
Will McLachlan is a Melbourne Demon. Here's his 2027 AFL Fantasy and SuperCoach verdict, role and rookie price. Will McLachlan has left Brisbane for Melbourne, and he lands in a forward line that's changed shape fast under Steven King. He's a livewire in the air with real forward craft. He's had one small taste of AFL footy and showed glimpses.I break down where he fits next to Latrelle Pickett and Kade Chandler, whether he's best 23 in round one, and why Brisbane's depth of small to medium forwards kept him out. Success has a cost. The Lions are paying it.Then the fantasy footy verdict. He'll be rookie priced in 2027 after a 28 in his one game this year. I don't see a role outside forward 50 yet, and that caps his ceiling. He's a genuine watchlist option for your forward bench. Not a lock. Not a pass. Social Media: Facebook
| Keidean Coleman Finds a New AFL Home at Essendon | 14 oct. 2026 | 00:12:05 | |
Keidean Coleman is a Bomber. Is he a 2027 AFL Fantasy and SuperCoach value pick, or will that discount let you down? Essendon needed a kick out of defence badly. They were one of the worst kick-in teams in the comp, then Zach Merrett and Jordan Ridley walked out the door. Coleman’s precision by foot fills that gap on paper. Then there’s the fantasy question. He played 13 games in 2026, so his injury discount won’t be as generous as you might hope. And since that 127-point 2023 Grand Final, he’s gone 80+ just 4 times in 15 games. So is he a scorer who pops in any system, or a solid player who thrived in Brisbane’s? I give you my lean and what I’m watching this preseason. Social Media: Facebook
| Josh Goater Becomes a Hawk | 14 oct. 2026 | 00:10:09 | |
Josh Goater lands at Hawthorn from North Melbourne. Here’s why the Hawks wanted him and my 2027 fantasy verdict. The Hawks know something most of the AFL world hasn’t picked up yet. Their backline is ageing out fast. Barrass, Sicily, Impey and Amon all start 2027 at 31 or older, and Hardwick turns 30. Josh Goater is 23, clean by hand, strong in the air, and he played midfield as a junior. For North, the high hopes never turned into a regular spot in the best 23. Goater gets a fresh start and a clearer path. North gets compensation. I think everybody walks away happy. Fantasy coaches are the exception. He averaged 55.3 in AFL Fantasy and 55.2 in SuperCoach across 6 games in 2026, and I can’t find a classic angle at either club. I explain when I’d look at him in draft and Keeper leagues, and who sits ahead of him. Social Media: Facebook
| Carlton Land Lachie Whitfield in a Trade | 13 oct. 2026 | 00:18:19 | |
Lachie Whitfield is a Blue. Is he still a 2027 AFL Fantasy and SuperCoach premium, or a trade-in target by Round 6? Carlton just landed the elite halfback rebounder they’ve chased for years. GWS took a mid-20s pick for him. And your 2027 defence might look very different because of it. I break down what Whitfield brings to Josh Fraser’s Blues, whether Carlton’s system actually suits a high-volume distributor, and why the injury narrative is dead after four straight 20+ game seasons. Then the fantasy stuff. He’s dropped 10 points per game in AFL Fantasy and 7 in SuperCoach over two seasons. He leaves behind the second-most kick-ins in the league. Lachie Ash, Joe Fonti and Harry Himmelberg all have a shot at that role. My call on whether to start Whitfield or wait is right at the end. Social Media: Facebook
| Collingwood Trade for Ruck Depth with Flynn Riley | 13 oct. 2026 | 00:07:06 | |
Flynn Riley lands at Collingwood. Is the rookie-priced ruck a 2027 R3 option in AFL Fantasy, SuperCoach and Keeper? Some trades change your whole draft plan. This one doesn’t, and I’ll tell you straight why. Riley is a developing ruck who’s shown a few nice moments at lower levels. He arrives at the Pies as depth behind Darcy Cameron, not as a second tall sharing the load. Oscar Steene’s ACL in May opened the door. He was being groomed for the number two ruck job and won’t be ready for the start of 2027. Riley fills that gap and learns from Cameron. Carlton is the bigger story. With Riley and Hudson O’Keefe both gone, the Blues are short on rucks. Liam Reidy is the only other option. The draft and SSP periods matter now. The fantasy verdict? He’ll be rookie priced and I don’t hate him as your R3. But don’t commit yet. Prices, positions, rule changes and preseason bolters all land before your side locks. Social Media: Facebook
| Zane Duursma Becomes A Demon | 13 oct. 2026 | 00:11:53 | |
Zane Duursma joins Melbourne. Is the former top-5 pick a 2027 AFL Fantasy or SuperCoach option? Here’s my honest verdict. He’s one of the best aerial forwards of his size to come through the junior system in years. At North, though, he only showed it in glimpses. Now he crosses to the Demons, and we’re about to learn whether the problem was system, style, development or something else. I call Zane a “gravy” forward. That’s not a slight. Gravy on its own won’t get it done. Put it on top of Van Rooyen, Jefferson, Fritsch, Chandler and Pickett, though, and it lifts the whole forward line. I also cover what North loses and how their long-term forward group shapes up without him. Then the fantasy verdict. He averaged 39.9 in SuperCoach and 36.1 in AFL Fantasy in 2026, and he’s scored 80+ once in his career. Two things would need to happen before he even makes my watchlist. I’ll walk you through both. Social Media: Facebook
| Nick Blakey is Traded to North Melbourne | 13 oct. 2026 | 00:14:29 | |
Nick Blakey is a Kangaroo. Here’s what his move to North means for your 2027 SuperCoach and AFL Fantasy sides. A month ago he was a trade rumour. Now he’s North Melbourne’s biggest signing in decades. One of the best metres-gained rebounders in the game lands at a club that’s struggled to move the ball off half back for years. For Sydney, it hurts. Blakey’s gone and Callum Mills is out with an ACL. That’s two of their best six defenders. So who picks up the scoring? Then the part you care about. Blakey averaged 98.6 in SuperCoach and 86 in AFL Fantasy in 2026. His market share at Sydney sat at 5.5. Caleb Daniel and Luke Parker sat at 5.8 and 5.9 at North. I unpack whether Blakey can push past 6, who loses out at North, and why he’s on my serious SuperCoach watchlist and climbing draft boards. Social Media: Facebook
| Sam Butler Becomes a Sun | 12 oct. 2026 | 00:08:49 | |
Sam Butler heads from Hawthorn to Gold Coast. Is he draft-relevant in 2027 AFL Fantasy and SuperCoach? Here’s my verdict. Butler played just 8 games in 2026 and has never cracked 10 in a season. He wasn’t short on talent. He was fifth in line behind Nick Watson, Jack Ginnivan, Dylan Moore and Connor Macdonald, and mostly got a game when one of them was out. At the Suns, that changes. Leo Lombard and Jake Rogers covered the small forward role this year, but both are midfielders learning forward craft. Butler already has it. With Ben King’s goals leaving the club, this is a genuine upgrade in a spot Gold Coast needed to fix. Fantasy-wise, I’m keeping expectations in check. He averaged 59.4 in AFL Fantasy and 50.9 in SuperCoach this year. That’s no interest in classic. In draft, it comes down to how deep your league runs. Social Media: Facebook
| Aidan Schubert is now a Gold Coast Sun | 11 oct. 2026 | 00:09:18 | |
Aidan Schubert is a Gold Coast Sun. Here's what the trade means for the Hawks, the Suns and your 2027 SuperCoach side.Ben King walked and the Suns needed a tall. They got one. Aidan Schubert is 198cm, clean in the air and works harder up the ground than most key forwards his age. I break down why he fits next to Jed Walter and Ethan Reed, and why Walter now has to become a 50-goal forward. For Hawthorn, the maths was simple. King, Gunston, Lewis and Chol can't all fit in one forward line, and Calsher Dear had already lost his spot. Schubert was sliding down the order the moment King committed. Nobody will say the two deals are linked. I think they are, and I tell you why. Then the bit that matters for your team. He averaged 24 in SuperCoach and 49 in AFL Fantasy in 2026. That prices him around the rookies in SuperCoach, and I'd rather jump on at the bubble than start him. In AFL Fantasy I'm out. Social Media: Facebook
| Hudson O'Keefe Joins the Western Bulldogs | 10 oct. 2026 | 00:07:45 | |
Hudson O'Keefe is a Bulldog. Here's what the trade means for Tim English, Carlton's ruck stocks and your 2027 fantasy side.Hudson O'Keefe has left Carlton for the Western Bulldogs, and the Dogs are stoked. He's almost 210cm, he moves well for his size, and his ruck and stoppage craft gets better every game. The forward craft still needs work.So why did the Dogs want him? Tim English played just 15 home and away games in 2026. They tried Rory Lobb, Lachlan Smith and others in the ruck and got exposed. Huddy is the insurance policy. He's not there to play alongside English, so if you own Tim in a keeper or dynasty league, relax.Carlton is the bigger question. O'Keefe is gone and Flynn Riley is headed to Collingwood. I fully expect the Blues to chase another ruck, either late in the trade period or at the draft. As for fantasy? He averaged 29.7 in SuperCoach and 28.3 in AFL Fantasy in 2026. He only matters in 2027 if English goes down for a decent stretch. Social Media: Facebook
| Finn Maginness is a Western Bulldog | 09 oct. 2026 | 00:08:17 | |
Finn Maginness is a Bulldog. Here's my 2027 AFL Fantasy and SuperCoach verdict on the ex-Hawthorn tagger.Finn Maginness built his name at Hawthorn as a stopper. Between 2023 and 2025, if the Hawks needed someone shut down, he got the job. Ask any Collingwood fan about the day he went to Nick Daicos. He tackles hard, his hands in tight are cleaner than he gets credit for, and his effort is through the roof. The Western Bulldogs haven't had that on their list. Luke Beveridge now has a genuine lockdown lever to pull at selection, plus some extra depth through the midfield and forward line. For Hawthorn, it's a depth player moving on after just 6 games in 2026, with younger, higher-ceiling options already ahead of him.For your 2027 side? He averaged 45.7 in AFL Fantasy and 50.8 in SuperCoach this year. I don't have him in the Bulldogs' best 23. I explain why I'm not chasing him in classic or draft, and the one scenario that changes my mind. Social Media: Facebook
| Zak Butters Becomes a Western Bulldog | 09 oct. 2026 | 00:14:12 | |
Zak Butters is a Bulldog. Here's what it does to his 2027 AFL Fantasy and SuperCoach scoring, plus Bont and Richards.Butters, Bontempelli and Richards in one midfield. It might be the best on-ball group we've ever seen. For fantasy coaches, it's a headache.Zak's coming off back-to-back 120+ SuperCoach seasons and a career-high 104.5 in AFL Fantasy. But he took 7% of Port's points over the last two years. Bont and Richards each took 6.9% of the Dogs' in 2026. Three blokes can't all keep that share. I tell you which way I'm leaning, and why I'd rather trade in than start any of them.I also look at who could pick up DPP (Bont MID/FWD is live, and don't rule out Richards), what it means for the Dogs with Jordan Butts and a healthy Sam Darcy, and where Port goes from here. Jason Horne-Francis is the obvious one. The real value might be whoever lands the second and third midfield spots. This is part of our 2026 AFL trade and free agency review series. Every time a player moves clubs, we break down what it means for the club he left, the club he joined, and your 2027 AFL Fantasy and SuperCoach AFL side. This one covers Zak Butters' move from Port Adelaide to the Western Bulldogs, with Marcus Bontempelli, Ed Richards, Jason Horne-Francis and Connor Rozee all in the firing line. Keeper AFL coaches, the role changes here matter for you too.Who are you starting in 2027? Tell me in the comments? Social Media: Facebook
| Ben King Lands at Hawthorn | 09 oct. 2026 | 00:09:17 | |
Ben King is a Hawthorn player. Is he a 2027 AFL Fantasy or SuperCoach pick, or just a real footy win for the Hawks? King has finished 5th, 3rd and 7th for goals across the last three seasons. 60 this year. 71 the year before. Now he walks into a forward line that already has Gunston, Lewis, Chol and Nick Watson. Someone drops a rung, and I can't see the Hawks playing four talls over 190cm. I break down who gets squeezed, whether Mitch Lewis or King himself needs to learn some ruck craft, and why Hawthorn won't trade away the chaotic ball movement that got them to back-to-back prelims. Then the Suns. Jed Walter kicked 33. Ethan Read is a unicorn. Neither replaces 60 goals on their own, and that worries me for Gold Coast's 2027. The fantasy verdict: King averaged 48.9 in AFL Fantasy and 58.6 in SuperCoach in 2026. He's never gone above 55 or 65. I tell you if that changes at the Hawks, and if anyone at either club deserves a bump up your draft board. Social Media: Facebook
| Sam Marshall: Underrated Fantasy Prospect for 2027 | 09 oct. 2026 | 00:10:41 | |
Sam Marshall is a Saint. Is the ex-Lion a 2027 AFL Fantasy and SuperCoach bargain? Here's my verdict. Most people will shrug at this one. I think that's a mistake. Marshall is a strong runner, a better accumulator than he gets credit for, and a sharp kick over 30 to 40 metres. Brisbane's midfield depth pushed him to the outside. St Kilda have sold him on a midfield opportunity. The Saints' first three mids feel settled with Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera, Garcia and Hall. The fourth and fifth rotation spots are wide open. I walk through where Macrae, Windhager, Wilson, Boxshall and Phillipou sit, and why I'm tipping a split wing and inside mid role for Marshall. Then the fantasy footy bit. He averaged 56 in AFL Fantasy and 63.5 in SuperCoach from two games in 2026, so forget rookie pricing. There's still value here, and he's landed at the #1 disposal team in the comp. Not a lock. Absolutely a preseason watchlist name. Social Media: Facebook
| Rowan Marshall Traded to Geelong: Lock him into your AFL Fantasy & SuperCoach AFL team NOW | 08 oct. 2026 | 00:11:30 | |
Rowan Marshall is a Cat. As Geelong's number one ruck, he could be the top-scoring ruck in AFL Fantasy in 2027. Lock him in.Geelong missed Rowan Marshall last year. They've got him now. I break down what he adds to a list that's primed for another flag, and why his work around the ground matters more than his hitouts. Plus where this leaves Mitch Edwards, and why it could be the perfect handover in two or three years. For St Kilda, this corrects the sins of the past. A 50/50 ruck/forward split between Marshall and Tom De Koning was never going to work. Both are at their best running the opposition ruck into the ground. Now TDK gets to play to his strengths, and the Saints have real structural options. Then the bit you're here for. In Rounds 17 to 19, as the sole ruck, Marshall went 118, 134 and 139 in AFL Fantasy and 133, 122 and 169 in SuperCoach. That matches the three seasons before 2026, when he averaged over 100 across the formats as the number one ruck. There's about 20 points per game of upside in his price. I also make the case for TDK at R2 as your stepping stone ruck. Social Media: Facebook
| Jack Bowes Joins Essendon | 07 oct. 2026 | 00:11:33 | |
Jack Bowes is a Bomber. Third club, new role, and one question: is he AFL Fantasy or SuperCoach relevant in 2027? Jack Bowes has left Geelong for Essendon, and I've got the full trade review. He averaged 69.9 in AFL Fantasy and 65.3 in SuperCoach in 2026, and he only got on the park nine times. So why would you look twice? Versatility. Bowes can play either flank, a wing, or pinch-hit on the inside, and that gives Mark McVeigh a proper plug-and-play option around a young list. At Geelong he was always just in or just out of the best 22. At Essendon he should play regular footy. Here's the catch for us. Seven AFL Fantasy tons and 11 SuperCoach tons from 69 games as a Cat. He's been the "almost" guy his whole career. I walk through the one role that would change my mind, why I'm out in classic for now, and where he fits in draft leagues. Social Media: Facebook
| Jordan Ridley lands at the Cattery | 07 oct. 2026 | 00:16:05 | |
Jordan Ridley is a Cat. He averaged 102 in SuperCoach in 2024 and he's coming off a 52. Here's my 2027 fantasy verdict.Ridley has played 26 games in three years, so most coaches have forgotten how good he is. At his best he's one of the better intercept defenders in the AFL, and he's a beautiful kick. Geelong have paid up to get him, and they've got a long record of getting injured players back on the park. The scoring has never been the question. In 2024 he went at 88 in AFL Fantasy with three tons, and 102 in SuperCoach with six tons from nine games. Between 2020 and 2024 his lowest SuperCoach average was 92. Coming off a 57 in AFL Fantasy and a 52 in SuperCoach, that's 30 to 40 points per game of upside. The question is his body. I cover why high ownership changes the risk on a player like him, why he's a starting squad pick or nothing, and the one thing in the preseason that makes me scrap him. I also look at what it does to Tom Stewart's scoring, and who picks up the points Ridley leaves behind at Essendon. Social Media: Facebook
| 3 Reasons Richmond Won The Nathan O'Driscoll Trade | 06 oct. 2026 | 00:08:00 | |
Nathan O'Driscoll is a Tiger. Here's his 2027 AFL Fantasy and SuperCoach verdict, and why Richmond won this trade. Day two of trade period gave us one official move. Noddy leaves Fremantle for Richmond, and the Tigers paid a late pick they were never going to use. For a bloke who played 17 games this year, including the Elimination Final against Hawthorn, that's a steal. He gives Richmond something they don't have. A penetrating left foot, serious metres gained and clean hands overhead. Put him on the wing opposite Retschko and that outside game looks a lot better. He can also roll through the inside if they need a different look. The fantasy call is where it gets tricky. He averaged 66.3 in SuperCoach and 64.1 in AFL Fantasy this year. Classic coaches need 90+ across a long stretch, and I'm not sold he gets there. In draft, I like him a lot. And if he lands a halfback distributor role, it's a whole different story.
| Zach Merrett is FINALLY a Hawk | 05 oct. 2026 | 00:14:37 | |
Zach Merrett is a Hawk. Is he a 2027 AFL Fantasy and SuperCoach lock, or does Hawthorn's points spread kill his scoring? Eleven straight seasons averaging 100 or more. Now Zach walks into the best AFL Fantasy scoring team in the comp and the 4th best in SuperCoach. Sounds perfect. I'm not convinced. Here's the problem. Zach's market share of points has sat between 6.8% and 7.1% for four years. Hawthorn didn't have a single player above 5.5% in 2026. The Hawks score heaps, but they share it around. Sicily one week, Day the next, Newcombe after that. I break down the optimist case, the pessimist case, and why I'm happy to wait and be right instead of starting him. Then there's Essendon. The rebuild has finally hit the midfield, and that opens up serious points. I name the Bomber I think pops in 2027, plus two names keeper and dynasty coaches should not be selling. | Scott Pendlebury Departs Collingwood | 05 oct. 2026 | 00:09:16
Collingwood just traded the greatest player in their history. I never thought I'd say it. At 38, Scott Pendlebury still averaged 83.8 in SuperCoach and 79.2 in AFL Fantasy in 2026, with 20+ disposals in 12 of his 17 games. Gold Coast aren't buying a midfielder. They're buying an on-field coach. I break down why leadership cost the Suns in 2026, how Pendlebury helps Noah Anderson and that young group, and why I'd be surprised if he plays more than 12 to 15 games. Then the Collingwood side. His CBAs dropped from 65-75% early in the year to 20-30% late. This midfield now belongs to Nick Daicos and Lachie Neale. For 2027, I've got zero interest in classic. In draft there's one scenario where he makes sense: a late handcuff if you already own a Suns mid. Social Media: Facebook
| Jesse Hogan Traded to Collingwood | 05 oct. 2026 | 00:11:40 | |
Two years ago Jesse Hogan kicked 77 goals and won the Coleman. This year he averaged 55.8 in SuperCoach and 49.1 in AFL Fantasy, and GWS let him walk for next to nothing. That gap is the whole story for 2027. I break down why Collingwood needed him. Only Dan McStay and Tim Membrey kicked 30+ for the Pies this year, and losing Brody Mihocek hurt more than most realised. Then the Giants. Greene, Stringer and Hogan are all gone, and that's 100 goals out the door. Cadman, Gruzewski and Brown have to find another level. Then the verdict. If Hogan's fit and switched on, there's serious points upside on his 2026 numbers, especially in SuperCoach where contested marks and accuracy get paid. But there's a third variable most coaches will miss: the early fixture. I tell you which matchups make me fade and which ones make me pounce. Social Media: Facebook
| Western Bulldogs land Big Jordan Butts | 03 oct. 2026 | 00:07:40 | |
Jordon Butts is a Western Bulldog. Here's what it means for the Dogs' defence, the Crows and your 2027 AFL Fantasy and SuperCoach side. How many times have we watched a monster key forward take the Dogs apart? Butts is the fix. He isn't elite at any one thing. What he does is lock down the opposition's number one tall. That lets Khamis and O'Donnell drop back into their natural roles instead of playing undersized on key forwards. For Adelaide, the compo pick might be worth as much as Butts was. Keane and Borlase are now their top two. The bigger story is the heat this puts on North Melbourne. If they want Nick Murray, they'll have to pay overs. The fantasy verdict is simple. Key position defenders rarely matter, and Butts (SC 53.4, AF 42.2 from 9 games in 2026) is no exception. There's one small knock-on worth watching, though. It could help Bailey Dale. | Is Kieran Briggs the early R2 in SuperCoach & AFLFantasy in 2027? | 02 oct. 2026 | 00:10:22
Kieren Briggs to Richmond. Is the ex-Giants ruck fantasy relevant again in 2027? Here's my SuperCoach and AFL Fantasy verdict.Richmond needed a ruck who's ready now and still around when the kids grow up. Toby Nankervis has been a warrior, but he's 32. Briggs is 27, physical, built in the Shane Mumford mould, and he cost the Tigers no draft capital. He also walks in with chemistry alongside Hopper and Taranto. The Giants made their call this year. Nick Madden took the number one ruck role, and the ruck rule changes didn't help Briggs. GWS now look thin for ruck depth and need to top up.For fantasy, the pedigree is there. Back-to-back low 90s in AFL Fantasy across 2023 and 2024, plus 109 and 96 in SuperCoach. He averaged 83.2 in SuperCoach and 71.9 in AFL Fantasy this year, so there's 20+ points of upside. I explain the two things that have me doubting he gets back there.Every player who moves clubs this trade and free agency period gets a dedicated review. I cover the club they've joined, the club they've left, and what it means for AFL Fantasy, SuperCoach AFL and Keeper AFL coaches in 2027. This episode covers Kieren Briggs, Richmond, GWS Giants, Toby Nankervis, Nick Madden, Jacob Hopper and Tim Taranto. Is Briggs in your 2027 ruck plans? Tell me in the comments. | Lachie Neale Has Become a Magpie | 02 oct. 2026 | 00:10:06
Lachie Neale is a Magpie. Here's what it means for Collingwood, Brisbane and your 2027 AFL Fantasy and SuperCoach side. Three premierships. Two Brownlows. He's 33 and still ranked #2 in the AFL for centre clearances, sitting behind only Matt Rowell. Now he lands at a Collingwood side that's one of the worst clearance teams in the league. I break down why this move is really about Nick Daicos, and why Brisbane will feel Neale's absence more than most people think (it still doesn't rule them out of a four-peat). Then the fantasy verdict. Hugh McCluggage is my big winner. His inside mid CBAs dropped to 40% in 2026, down from 70% in his All-Australian 2025. Expect him back on the inside. I also forecast Neale's 2027 scoring and explain why he's off my classic starting squad. Social Media: Facebook
| Toby Greene leaves the Giants for the Cats | 02 oct. 2026 | 00:12:31 | |
Toby Greene to Geelong. Here's what the free agency move means for the Cats, the Giants and your 2027 fantasy side.Greene, Cameron and Neale are locks in that Geelong forward line. The fascinating part is everyone else. Miers, Martin, Mannagh, Close, Wiltshire, Polkinghorne and Dangerfield can't all play, let alone all sit inside 50. I walk through who gets squeezed and why I think Greene's midfield time will be sporadic at best. For the Giants, this is full rebuild territory. Hogan heading out, Stringer delisted, now the captain gone. That's their three best avenues to goal. The pressure lands on Cadman and Gruzewski, and Gothard, McMullin and Daniels have to stay healthy. Then the fantasy verdict. Greene averaged 81.5 in SuperCoach and 85.8 in AFL Fantasy this year, and I'm forecasting a similar range in 2027. But he's not the big winner here. That's Shaun Mannagh, and I explain why he should be on your radar. Social Media: Facebook
| Joel Amartey the first Free Agent move of 2026 | 02 oct. 2026 | 00:08:53 | |
Joel Amartey to Carlton is the first move of 2026 free agency. Here's what it means for the Blues, Swans and your 2027 side.Carlton needed another tall. Harry McKay pushing up the ground left them short in the air, and they haven't had that contest-creating presence since Charlie Curnow left for Sydney. Amartey fixes that. He's a versatile key forward who can chop out in the ruck and swing back if needed. The real win? The Blues fixed a need using only cap space. No draft capital spent, which matters with a Cody Walker bid coming and Lachie Whitfield in the frame. For Sydney, Curnow's arrival and Logan McDonald's emergence left Amartey and Hayden McLean fighting for one spot. One of them was always leaving. The Swans turned Jai Serong into a first-picked player in 12 months, so don't be shocked if they find another one. I also give you my straight verdict on whether a guy averaging 54.1 in SuperCoach and 50.4 in AFL Fantasy belongs anywhere near your 2027 plans. Social Media: Facebook
| Ranking the 2025 Draft Class after one season of AFL | 06 sept. 2026 | 00:43:30 | |
A year ago these guys were names on a draft board. | Round 22 Strategy Session | 04 août 2026 | 00:39:53
Round 22 is brutal for tagged premiums. Zach Merrett, Bontempelli and Harley Reid are all in danger. Three weeks left in your AFL Fantasy and SuperCoach season, and the taggers are back in force. MJ and MiniMonk run through every negating matchup on the Round 22 slate, including the double-tag nightmare heading Zach Merrett's way and the two-week stretch that could sink Bontempelli owners. Then it's onto the good stuff. Which PODs have the fixture to actually make you money and points, why Miles Bergman is worth a look, and how to use the loophole to hide your rookies while you scope out the best DVP matchups without burning a trade. We also start the 2026 season review process properly, breaking down the misses that were obvious in hindsight (Dawson) versus the ones that weren't (Petracca, McCluggage), and why AFLW Fantasy kicking off this Sunday is worth your time even if you've never played it before. One injury can reshape an entire fantasy season. In 2026 we've had more than one... We've had PLENTY! In this week's Coaches Panel Strategy Session, MJ Want and MiniMonk tackle one of the biggest issues facing AFL Fantasy and SuperCoach coaches heading into Round 16: How to replace Jack Sinclair. With approximately half of the competition needing to make a decision, the discussion goes beyond the obvious premium replacements and explores the creative solutions that could provide structure, value, and a competitive edge for the remainder of the season. The episode also tackles a growing post-bye challenge: can coaches still trust rookies on field? Using Adelaide's Hugo Hall-Kahan as a case study, MJ and MiniMonk examine the balance between cash generation, job security, and the points required to compete during the run home. Finally, they turn their attention to the most important line in fantasy football: the rucks. | Round Seven Strategy Session | 21 avr. 2026 | 00:53:23
It's officially upgrade season and this is the episode that tells you exactly how to attack it. MJ Want and MiniMonk sit down for the Round 7 strategy session covering the three decisions that define the next month of your AFL Fantasy and SuperCoach season. First: cash cows. Which ones are past their money-making peak and need to go right now? Which still have meaningful cash to generate before you pull the trigger? Second: upgrade season. What does it actually mean, what's the right cadence format by format, and what does a completed team look like from here? AFL Fantasy's two-trade-per-week discipline requires a specific sequencing priority. SuperCoach's looping mechanics change the calculation. MJ and MiniMonk break down the framework. Third: the unexpected names. Cam Zurhaar quietly one of the most interesting low-owned forwards of the season. And Elijah Tsatas the pick 5 who finally got his CBA% opportunity. Which of these stories is real? And what does each tell coaches about how to read unexpected performance? Social Media: Facebook Support Us:
| Round 6 Strategy Session | 14 avr. 2026 | 00:36:32 | |
Five rounds in. The bye structure is approaching. And the decisions you make in the next two to three weeks will define where your season ends up. MJ Want breaks down the four strategic pillars that matter most heading into Round 6 of AFL Fantasy and SuperCoach 2026. First and most importantly how do you tell the difference between a player scoring well because of a favourable DVP matchup versus a player whose role has genuinely, structurally changed? Jarrod Witts against Max Gawn and Archie Roberts' recent performance are the case studies. One of those scores will repeat. The other won't. Knowing which is which is worth more than any single trade decision. Then the trade-out framework: Deven Robertson, Connor Budarick and Dayne Zorko as the diagnostic case studies not because they're uniquely bad, but because they each represent a different version of the same problem. How do you know when holding crosses from patient to passive? Third: the upgrade-around-injuries question. Format by format, what is the line between trading through an injury (the right call) and upgrading around it (the smarter call) and how does SuperCoach's bench structure change that calculation compared to AFL Fantasy? And finally: which players right now, based on price floor and upcoming fixture run, represent the best pre-positioning trades before the market catches up? Social Media: Facebook Support Us:

Plus: Wanganeen-Milera, Whitfield, Rankine and McCluggage as the four bottoming-out premiums approaching exploitable prices, and a deep dive into Brisbane's upcoming fixture run as the most undervalued scheduling advantage in the competition. In this Coaches Panel, MJ and MiniMonk go deep on every dimension of the crisis: when is it bad luck versus poor portfolio construction, how do you sequence your recovery trades, which premiums are the cleanest replacements for Rozee and Petracca, and who are the rookie options now that Murdoch is gone?
