Cult Classics with Chris - Ep. 28 - William Malone (House on Haunted Hill, feardotcom, Scared To Death)08 Oct 202401:10:39
Welcome to "Cult Classics with Chris," the podcast within "Classic American Movies" where I will interview cult filmmakers. This time I'm talking with William Malone. There is a 100% chance you’ve seen his work: he designed masks (creating the Michael Myers’ mask), he’s made many fun horror films for over 40 years including Tales From the Crypt episodes, movies and more!
I’ve been a big fan of Malone’s since I first saw his 1999 remake of “House on Haunted Hill” (as discussed in Miriam and my’s episode) and finally getting a chance to sit down and talk with him was a lot of fun. From start to finish, he truly was inspiring to talk to and offered a lot of knowledge on films as well as cracking a lot of jokes. A wonderful class act of a man. Please check out his YouTube channel, Undertaking Cinema where William discusses all things cinema!
If you’re not doing so already, please like and follow Classic American Movies on Instagram and Facebook. I do free movie giveaways, mini movie reviews and more!
Also, I decided to write and direct my first slasher flick, called "Bishop's Day"! Check out the Instagram page for updates.
Ep 61 - FearDotCom (Part 2)25 Sep 202400:52:50
One of the big reasons I love having Ryan on the pod is that he always brings a lot of information and knows how to use it. We do a deeper talk on this cult classic as well as talk about what the dark web actually is. This episode packs a lot of information that the average person doesn’t know about the internet. Remeber to check out Videodrome to rent this flick as well as many other 2000's horror classics!
If you’re not doing so already, please like and follow Classic American Movies on Instagram and Facebook. I do free movie giveaways, mini movie reviews and more!
Be on the lookout for an indie slasher that I'm making called "Bishop's Day." Check out the instgram page for updates!

"Guacamania!" will be making its world premire at the Dances with Films film festival on June 23 at 12:30pm!

Ep. 54 - Best Time at a Movie Theater20 May 202401:05:21
All my life, at least as far back as seeing “Batman” in 1989, some of my favorite memories were spent in theaters. I can still remember the way most of them looked, smelled, the popcorn, soda … I love it! So when the idea of this pod about my favorite times at the theater came up, I immediately thought of Mark from Movies, Films and Flix to talk about his favorite times. Together, we discuss movies, working and so much more!

Ep. 53 - 3 From Hell06 May 202401:05:13
Ryan McCurdy (of the Ranked Podcast) is back to wrap up Rob Zombie’s unplanned trilogy with “3 From Hell.” This was arguably the movie with the most positive reviews of Zombie’s career.  Join us as we discuss the unusual profits of this flick, the day by day production, shooting in bad weather and so much more! Burger and I both know someone who worked on this, so we got to add a personal touch to it! Make sure to check out the Ranked podcast, found wherever you find finer podcasts.

Bonus Episode! - BS part deux23 Apr 202400:24:58
I was surprised that my last BS episode was a big hit, so I figured I would make another one! This time, I made it a little more focused: My friends and I speak candidly about shock cinema; why I don't have a Netflix account and Farmer tells the story about her first time on a film set.

Ep. 52 - Caleb J. Phillips (The Other Side of the Box; Play Me)15 Apr 202400:45:01
Caleb has been making movies for the last few years and made a big splash with his horror short “The Other Side of the Box.” I loved it and LOVE his follow up “Play Me”. Both films display true filmmaking talent and suspensful terror. Super thrilled to sit down for a little bit and chat to this up-and-coming filmmaker about where it started, how it's going and where it's headed to.

Ep. 51 - The Devils Rejects pt 203 Apr 202400:52:58
Burger brings the lettuce to talk more on “The Devil’s Rejects.” One of the reasons why I love having the Ranked co-star on my show is that he comes overly prepared and has a lot to talk about, which is why we usually have two-part episodes.  We both loved the music so much on this we did a top 5 music in movies ranking, hangout movies, B-movies and more!

More hot Rob Zombie talk! Ryan McCurdy (of the Ranked Podcast) joins me to discuss the sequel that was never planned or meant to happen! During the mid 2000’s there was tons of remakes and homages to 1970’s flicks and this was one that is most remembered! Join us as we chat about horror flicks, risky filmmaking, 70’s horror and so much more!

Cult Classics with Chris - Ep. 25 - Alex Cox (Repo Man, Sid and Nancy, Straight to Hell, Tombstone Rashoman)06 Mar 202400:43:58
Quite possibly one of the most recognizable names ever, Alex Cox joins me to talk about his iconic career, spanning over four decades. After realizing being an actor wasn’t in the cards, Alex decided to move to production (which was unpopular at the time) and has been making beautiful films since. "Repo Man," "Sid and Nancy," and "Straight to Hell," are just some of his iconic masterpieces.
We talk about his early life, inspirations and his latest (as of the recording) movie “Tombstone Rashomon,” which is a retelling of the famous gunfight at the OK Corral, but from everyone’s perspective.

Ep. 50 - Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny26 Feb 202401:14:10
Every once in a while I’ll allow friends to pick a movie to research for the podcast. Baroque has been asking to do this flick for sometime now and I finally broke down and said yes. We both do a deep dive in the history of D, Jack Black as The Genie in the live action “Aladdin” franchises and more! Tenacious D really isn’t my thing, but I was glad to have finally watched this flick and it’s obvious why “Destiny” has become a cult classic over the years.

Bonus Episode - BS vol 319 Sep 202400:28:53
One of the more popular episodes I have done was the snippets of stuff I talk about with my guest hosts, in which I call bs’ing. There’s no hot takes or anything controversial, this is literally what it’s like to hang out with me and my friends. We talk movies, LOTR (shocking) and more movies!
If you’re not doing so already, please like and follow Classic American Movies on Instagram and Facebook. I do free movie giveaways, mini movie reviews and more!
Be on the lookout for "Bishop's Day", a proof of concept film I wrote and will be directing. It's "Friday the 13th", "Scream" and "Valentine" in one fun, violent slasher!
Bonus Episode!! - BS on BTS16 Feb 202400:36:30
When I record a podcast, the majority of the time, I'll have the mics on and I'll chat with my guests for awhile about anything. I like to do this to loosen them up, feel at home and generally welcomed. Being on a podcast can be nerve racking and the last thing you want to do is sound stupid or come off in the wrong light.
So, what I have here is a compilation of clips from various guests that have come over and we talked. Not always about movies, but overall it was fun and interesting to re-listen to some of these forgotten gems.
Ep. 49 - Shawn Wright (FaceMelt Features)12 Feb 202400:41:34
Channeling the energy of creative geniuses like Sean Cunningham and Al Adamson, Baltimore indie filmmaker Shawn Wright is bringing back the sleazy gory horror films of yore with his production company FaceMelt Features. His first feature, “Night of the Axe” was a fun throwback to the 80’s slasher and his follow up “Spirit Board” (based on the Ouija horror films) is currently in preproduction. After chatting with Shawn, it’s very clear he has a promising future in horror films and I’m looking forward to seeing more of his work.

Ep. 48 - House of 1000 Corpses (Farmer is back!)29 Jan 202401:06:25
Since seeing the advertisement for this flick in the late 90’s, I’ve always loved it! The ultimate throwback horror film for horror nerds. Jessica (from the “Ghosts of Appalachia” Halloween special) joins me to talk about one of the most memorable movies that kicked off Rob Zombie’s other career. We both did a lot of research and had a blast chatting about one of the grimiest, dirtiest violent flicks to hit 2003.
If you’re not doing so already, check out Classic American Movies on Facebook and Instagram. I do appreciation posts, free movie giveaways and more!
Ep. 47 - Another Day in Paradise (more Quentin Tarantino inspired 90's movies)16 Jan 202401:16:22
More Tarantino-inspired 90’s flicks! Ryan Dambro (from the “Killdozer!” episode) is back to talk about the last movie Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert gave their iconic “Two Thumbs up” rating, the drug-infused fllm based on the book by Eddie Little (outlaw writer)! Dambro and I dive deep into outlaw filmmaking, Larry Clark and what if different actors were chosen for this late 90’s cult classic. If you’re not doing so already, check out Classic American Movies on Facebook and Instagram. I do appreciation posts, free movie giveaways and more!
Ep. 46 - Hooper04 Jan 202401:11:42
We're kicking the new year off with the movie that has explosions, stunts on stunts and as much fun as you would expect from Hall Needham and Burt Reynolds in the late 70's!
Friend of mine and fan of the pod, Cole was talking to me one day and was looking for a film recommendation. I asked what kinds of movies he liked. Action comedies with killer stunts ( I mean who doesn’t love that?) came up. You can’t go much further then the classic “Hooper” with a wonderful love letter to the stunt and film world from the legend himself, Hal Needham, when he and Burt Reynolds were at the height of their powers. So I brought Cole on the show to talk about it. Turns out he’s a huge Jan Micheal Vincent fan, so not only was this such a treat to watch, but a blast to research. If you’re not doing so already, check out Classic American Movies on Facebook and Instagram. I do appreciation posts, free movie giveaways and more!
Christmas Special - Lee Harry (Director, Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2)15 Dec 202300:44:42
For my Christmas Special this year I’m interviewing the director, co-writer and editor of one of the most iconic holiday horror films ever: “Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2”! I had previously interviewed Eric Freeman (star of “Silent Night Deadly Night Part 2”) and he had hooked me up with director Lee.
Not just a driector, but Lee is an amazing, award winning editor and I reccomend everyone checking out his work here.
Everything you’ve ever wanted to know about the ultimate cult classic is in this episode, and I really mean that. Between Eric and Lee, you'll know all the ins and outs of this flick and it's fun!

Ep. 44 - Marcus Albino and Brad Frizzell29 Nov 202301:03:12
It's been a minute since I got a chance to talk to some filmmakers who really are passionate about what they are doing. Writer/director Marcus Albino, co-founder of Cloak and Cauldron Films and producer Brad Frizzell , founder of Greeked Pictures created this this great crime drama thats making a lot of buzz called “Black Maria.” Recently, it was nominated for "Best Short Film" at Shockfest. I instantly loved it and since a mutual friend (who also happens to be a fan of the podcast) worked on it, got us in touch and we started chatting.
The movie is really intense and has one of the best crafted dinner scenes I’ve seen in years! Check out Cloak and Cauldron Films for more. I guarantee you'll be hearing a lot from these guys in the future!

Cult Classics with Chris - Ep. 24- James L Edwards (Her Name was Christa; Polymorph; Bloodletting)08 Nov 202301:35:06
Writer/Director/Actor/Producer James L Edwards was first introduced to horror when he was about 8-years-old by his uncle when he was shown “Night of the Living Dead,” and his life was changed forever! Both of us are horror nuts, so this was a really fun conversation! Please check out his films and support his career on Facebook and Instagram (Remember to tag those) If you’re not following the show already, check us out on Facebook and Instagram!

Ep. 43 - Murder by Numbers - Pt. 1 (with Ryan McCurdy of "Ranked" podcast)01 Nov 202301:04:28
One of my all-time favorite genres is murder mystery. However, this movie does it with a twist: The audience already knows who did it, but we don’t know why. Join Ryan (of the Ranked podcast) and me as we do a super deep dive into this early 2000’s thriller starring an up-and-coming star Ryan Gosling! There was so much info on this movie, it had to be made into two parts. Please check out Ryan’s podcast, Ranked wherever you get your pods. While you’re checking out the pod, please like and follow Classic American Movies, as well as Ranked, on Instagram and Facebook.
Ep. 60 - Feardotcom (Part 1)09 Sep 202400:51:17
What do you do about the title of your movie when the person who owns the internet domain won’t sell? Well, you add “Dotcom” to your title!
Ryan McCurdy (of the Ranked) podcast is back to talk about a flick I still have the ticket for after seeing it in theaters 22 years ago! At the time, the internet was pretty unknown to the general public and the first thing filmmakers did was make a horror movie about it!  I saw "feardotcom" when I was 18 and didn’t think about it since then. However, much like “Gothika,” I kept seeing the DVD at the Goodwill and thought it was time to talk about this nostalgic internet killer thriller. As usual, Ryan and I can’t stop talking and this episode became a two-parter. I loved this movie after rewatching it and after finding out Videodrome didn't have it to rent, I gave them my copy!

Halloween Special 3 - (Alejandro Muela - Celebrating Halloween in Mexico)30 Oct 202300:40:22
Alejandro, born and raised in Mexico, stops by to talk about Mexican urban legends and Halloween traditions. What makes his story so unique is that he grew up celebrating American Halloween traditions as well. This was a lot of fun as well as educational.

Cult Classics with Chris - Ep. 23 - Adrian Țofei and Duru Yücel ("Be My Cat: A Film for Anne")25 Oct 202301:20:15
Back in 2015, a young Romanian filmmaker revived an all but dead genre of filmmaking with his ultimate cult film, “Be My Cat: A Film For Anne.” I stumbled upon this flick while scrolling through Tubi and I am thrilled I did! It is such a rollercoaster of great filmmaking and, honestly, I couldn’t tell if Adrian was acting or not. His wife, Duru, an accomplished singer and actress from Turkey, have been putting their next masterpiece together for the last seven years, “We Put the World To Sleep” and I had to have them on to talk about their incredible careers!
When you're done with the pod, please check out their social media pages (look up their names); listen to Duru's singing and please donate to help them make their next film.

Ep. 42 - Darkness Falls (with Clay)18 Oct 202301:11:21
Friend of the pod, Clay Chamberlin is back to talk about the early 2000’s movie that I still have the movie ticket for. We dive deep into the very elaborate background and original script changes, why the blu-ray and soundtrack cost so much on eBay, our favorite ice cream and so much more on this forgotten fun flick we all know as “Darkness Falls”.

Halloween Special 2 (Jessica Farmer - Ghosts of Appalachia)16 Oct 202300:46:26
More Halloween ghost stories! Jessica Farmer has had a lifetime love of scary stories. Growing up around the mountains of North Carolina, she was exposed to many urban legends, ghost stories and story telling in general. Join us as Jessica tells the legend of the Beasts of Blaine County, The Devil’s Tramping Ground, living in a haunted apartment and so much more. I also talk about a local (to Chambersburg, PA) urban legend, which is "The White Lady of Pond Bank".
Not only is this a fun episode, its educational as well!

Cult Classics with Chris - Ep. 22 - Seb and Baz ("Game of Death" (2017))11 Oct 202301:05:38
Coming straight out of Montreal, Sébastien Landry (Seb) and Laurence Morais Lagacé (Baz) created one crazy, violent, fun, and well shot horror film called “Game of Death.” The stylish flick really got the duo the chance to spread their creative wings and let loose! Over the years, they had shot tons of music videos, as well as doing their own separate projects, all of which are beautiful and creative in their own light. I was super excited to talk to these guys about their amazing career as well as music (as they really know their stuff), Nu Metal making a comeback, and so much more! "Game" is streaming on Tubi.

Halloween Special (Kamilla Bridges - The Read House and real ghosts)04 Oct 202300:33:32
This year for Halloween I decided to have friends over to tell real ghost stories that have happened to them (as well as myself). I asked my friend Kamilla about any paranormal experiences she had and she told me about The Read House in her hometown of Chattanooga, TN. Although beautiful in every sense of the word, the hotel is known for the haunted room 311 where a woman had either killed herself or was killed while staying in the room in the early 1920’s. Guests have reported strange noises, drawers opening on their own and spots forming on pictures taken during their stay. She also tells stories abotu her own paranormal experiences in her home.

Cult Classics with Chris - Ep. 21 - Mike Pecci (12 KM, In Love with the Process podcast)25 Sep 202301:25:46
Mike Pecci has been writing and directing movies for years; his podcast “In Love with the Process” is arguably one of the best podcasts about filmmaking out there. However, much like all of us, it all began when we were kids in awe of what we were watching. While watching “Blade Runner”, a teacher asked him what his thoughts were on the wardrobe and the rest of his life went from there. His short film “12KM” has been rocking the horror market, and the only way to see it is to send him your Three Favorite Horror Films! Check out his podcast In Love With the Process (inlovewiththeprocesspod) and follow him on Instagram!

Ep. 40 - Truth or Consequences, N.M.19 Sep 202301:13:20
More Quentin Tarantino inspired films! “Truth or Consequences, NM” was one of those movies that flew under the radar due to a lot of 90’s classics being released at the same time. Critics really didn't like it, but audiences were split. At the time, "Austin Powers" was rocking the theatrical circuit (I still have my original ticket to when my mom took me) and TOCNM had a very limited release (reportedly, around seven theaters in America showed this for two weeks).
Did this flick stand the test of time or is best left in the dust? FInd out as Josh Bennett returns for more movies that were heavily inspired by QT in the 90's gritty noir world!
Ep. 39 - The Hangover Part III13 Sep 202301:04:54
Baroque has come back for another round during the last call for the franchise that spawned many many careers! The Wolfpack decided to come back and this time there was no hangover. We talk trilogies, the real history behind Leslie Chow (international man of mystery), the original script and more in this stunning conclusion to the hard-drinking trilogy!
Ep. 59 - Keaton Lange26 Aug 202401:14:52
Straight out of out the Appalachia Mountains in North Carolina, friend of mine Keaton Lange has been writing and creating music for over 20 years. Being a natural story teller, his lyrics paint a wonderful picture on a canvas of folk music that is a true gem to listen to. I’ve been wanting to bring him on the pod for awhile and with the release of his second EP, “The Runaway,” I couldn’t think of a better time. I was thrilled to finally sit down and talk with him about his lyrics, inspirations and life.
Keaton has a live performance this Saturday, August 31st at the PYK Gallery in Atlanta. Doors open at 7pm. Click the link for tickets!

Ep 38 - Greg Foxx Jr.05 Sep 202301:16:34
Atlanta filmmaker Greg Foxx Jr. has made a big impact with his proof of concept film “The Duppy Man’s Walk,” exploring a carribean-spirit horror theme. The well-shot and well-written film caught my attention and I had to have him on the show to talk about it. There’s a fantastic story behind it and the film is winning all kinds of awards! Be sure to check out www.theduppymanswalk.com for more information on how to make “The Duppy Man’s Walk” into a feature!
Ep. 37 - Poolhall Junkies (More Tarantino-inspired films)28 Aug 202300:59:16
Josh Bennett is back to talk about another 90’s (in this case, early 2000’s) Tarantino-inspired film. “Poolhall Junkies” was written by two real pool hustlers who were trying to hustle each other, then decided to write a script based on thier personal experiences. Although never directly stated, this film was one of many that was heavily inspired by Quentin Tarantino after his massive success in the 90's. The film was set up for a sequel involving card sharks, but life happens, and the idea was scrapped.
Ep. 36 - Cinnamon (with Baroque)23 Aug 202300:57:22
Tubi has laid down the gauntlet and pulled out all the stops and made a wonderfully crafted crime drama allowing an up-an-coming filmmaker Bryian Keith Montgomery Jr. to stretch his wings and fly. Baroque told me about this flick and I am so thrilled that he did! We do a deep dive on this a great throwback to gritty crime dramas with a well-rounded cast and amazing storyline and explore the possibility of more films with spice-themed titles. Check out “Cinnamon” on Tubi.
Cult Classics with Chris - Ep. 20 - Elza Kephart (Slaxx, Go in the Wilderness, Graveyard Alive)17 Aug 202301:09:52
Coming from a family of artists, Canadian filmmaker Elza Kephart always knew she wanted to create art in some way. When she repeatedly watched “Back to the Future” as a child, it was then, she knew she wanted to make movies. Over the years she made some great and memorable flicks like the fun and campy “Graveyard Alive,” to the serious “Go in the Wilderness” and most recently “Slaxx,” which is a fun and violent flick while being a serious look at corporations. Check out www.MidnightKingdom.com for links to Elza’s work, writer’s workshops and more!
Ep. 35 - Ghost Ship (Clay is back!)11 Aug 202301:19:55
Clay Chamberlin joins us again to talk about the movie that has, arguably, the best opening in horror history: “Ghost Ship”. We discuss what the original script, called “Chimera” was like, the nightmare of shooting in water and all the clues that explains what is going on in this wonderful piece of Dark Castle’s short lived history!
Ep. 34 - 2 Days in the Valley31 Jul 202301:02:54
Part 2 in my many parts of the “Tarantino-esq” film series. Josh Bennett, who I met while working on a movie years ago, stops by to talk about this gem and does comparisons to the original script (spoiler alert: there’s one massive difference), and explains the origins of how the characters came to be. This movie as well as other 90’s gritty crime dramas with the Tarantino style are available to rent at Videodrome!
Cult Classics with Chris Ep. 19 - Cynthia Rothrock25 Jul 202301:06:25
Easily one of the most recognizable action stars ever; icon of the icons and one of my favorite interviews, the "Lady Dragon" herself: Cynthia Rothrock!
It was such a blast talking about her career, becoming interested in martial arts and eventually becoming one of the most recognizable names of all time. We chat about her most memorable roles, blowing her knee out, the famous William Friedkin/Sylvester Stallone movie that never happened.
We also discuss her latest movie, “Black Creek,” which, after nearly 40 years in show business and 70 movies under her belt, Cynthia is writing and producing her own western martial arts revenge thriller. Check out www.blackcreekmovie.com to learn more!
Ep. 33 - The Hangover: Part II (Baroque is back!)10 Jul 202301:03:24
Baroque is back with us to talk about the sequel that folks weren’t really expecting to wake up next to! Together, we talk insane sequels, a lot of which came out at the same time as this film, and the driving force behind the sequel to one of the top grossing comedies of all time.
Cult Classics with Chris Ep. 18 - Tamra Davis (Gun Crazy, CB4, Billy Madison, HalfBaked and many, many music videos)26 Jun 202301:13:23
Without a doubt, you've seen Tamra's work. She is the director of so many iconic music videos and movies over the years. She’s directed actors like Chris Rock, Phil Hartman, Dave Chappelle, Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler and music videos for The Smiths, Faith No More, MC Lyte, Young MC, Tone Loc, Hanson, and thats just barely scratching the surface!
We talk about growing up with a comedy writer grandfather, who wrote jokes for everyone, quite literally. She went on to create a new style of music videos that were raw and felt “home made” at a time when they were heavily produced polished. Not only is this episode fun, it’s also very educational for filmmakers, artists and everyone!
Ep. 32 - Suicide Kings (with Ziggy Annesty)12 Jun 202301:13:52
I've always wanted to do a series of pods talking about the films that were greenlit in the 90's due to the massive success of Quentin Tarantino! So, get ready for many pods exploring those movies!
Ziggy of The Marvelous Nerdcast (mncpod.com) joins in this week to talk about the gritty 90’s crime drama originally written as a comedy starring a who’s who of movies and shows you love. We both do a deep dive in the production and talk about this forgotten flick of the Tarantino generation! Movie is available to rent at Videodrome in ATL.
Ep. 58 - Soul Survivors (with Ziggy)12 Aug 202401:06:20
Last time we saw Ziggy, we were talking about the Tarantino-inspired crime thriller “Suicide Kings.” This episode was supposed to recorded months prior to us actually recording it, but many circumstances prevented Zig and I from recording.
“Soul Survivors,” is arguably the most complex college-aged horror film of the 2000’s, and I’ve seen most of them. An-all star cast (before they became massive names), when they were all working on their craft shine in this often looked-over flick. The pod, much like the movie, was all over the place and I was thrilled to have Zig with me to on this journey! Cult Classics with Chris - Ep. 17 - Mike Costanza (The Collingswood Story)29 May 202301:02:33
“The Collingswood Story” is the movie that tons of filmmakers should thank for being made. In the late 90’s/early 00’s, due to the massive success of “The Blair Witch Project”, there was a scramble to make found footage horror. With laptops and webcams and a world wide reach, Mike Costanza saw a movie to be made that no one else saw: Screen Life Horror. The film would marry home webcams with horror elements to create a wonderful and scary film like the world had never seen. Mike and I chat about movies, his early days of editing and his awesome attention to detail that made this movie what it was.

Ep. 31 - Andrew J Lee is back!15 May 202301:30:12
Friend of the pod, Atlanta filmmaker Andrew Lee is back to talk about his latest film in production, “Guacamania,” a fun flick about a man “that must stall his highly-anticipated guacamole from browning while his girlfriend argues with her parents over their not-so-dead family dog,” (SeedandSpark.com). We talk movies, the future of filmmaking, AI use and tons more! Please check out www.eboshiplatinum.com and tinyurl.com/guacamania to donate to productions and to check for updates!
Ep. 30 - The Dead Next Door with bonus James L . Edwards interview01 May 202301:35:08
Man, oh man do I love this flick! It's one of those ultra-low budget movies from the 80's that you can feel an entire city (Akron, OH, to be exact) helping out to make a filmmaker's dream come true. It was secretly financed by Sam Raimi with his pay for "The Evil Dead II" and voice over's were all done by Bruce Campbell (who voices several people), Ted Raimi and other shemps.
I love showing this movie to folks, and my good friend Clay Chamberlin joins the pod to discover this classic slice of zombie horror you should watch and make part of your personal collection.
Stay tuned in after the episode for an interview with James L. Edwards, who was a 12-year-old boy who's life would be forever changed when he answered an ad in a newspaper looking for zombies in "The Dead Next Door."
Cult Classics with Chris - Ep. 16 - James Merendino (SLC Punk!; Withcraft IV)20 Apr 202301:04:13
n the late 90’s James Merendino crafted one of the most iconic comedy dramas of all time, “SLC Punk!” The film is a love letter (many of the characters were based on people he had known) to the punk scene of the mid 80’s, starring up and coming actor Matthew Lillard. However, James had been making movies and working in the business for a few years prior to that. Together, we talk about his career, in which he was mistaken as a PA numerous times on his own sets, getting older and the future of filmmaking.
