Hannah also reflects on her experiences of navigating education as a working class person, from A Levels through to completing the DClin.

The ClassClinPsych Podcast aims to shine a light on the role of class in clinical psychology. In these episodes, we will be talking to various people in the psychological professions and other allied fields to learn how class has shaped them personally and professionally. Matthew talks about his social identities of being a brown working class man from Stoke-on-Trent. He offers reflections on the 5 P's formulation, Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), and the Social Graces Model. Matthew also talks about his route into clinical psychology, and reflects on areas of privileges, and areas of disadvantages. He also shared his research on mental health professionals responses to social detriments in mental health services. At the time of this recording, Matthew was working as a Clinical Psychologist after training on the Liverpool DClin programme.

Ruth talks about their working class upbringing, being queer, social anxiety, and how this shaped their experience in education and work. Ruth discusses their career in retail, which ultimately led to pursuing a career in clinical psychology at 30, whilst balancing family life. There is a clear message that being working class is a strength when pursuing this career. At the time of this recording, Ruth was a first year trainee clinical psychologist.
