Your host Jason Drury begins the show with the superb 22-minute "Grand Gothic Suite" by Elliot Goldenthal from the album ELLIOT GOLDENTHAL: MUSIC FOR FILM (Silva Screen Records), containing music from BATMAN FOREVER and BATMAN AND ROBIN.

Jason then continues with selections from Nino Rota’s Oscar-winning score from 1974‘s THE GODFATHER PART 2 (La La Land Records) and Jerry Goldsmith’s classic 1976 score for ISLANDS IN THE STREAM, which Intrada Records recently reissued.

The wonderful theme from John Barry’s Oscar-winning score from the 1985 film OUT OF AFRICA (Intrada Records) continues the show. This is followed by music from David Fanshawe's score for the 1991 Michael Winner revenge thriller DIRTY WEEKEND (Silva Screen Records) and then music from Don Davis’s score from the 2001 film JURASSIC PARK III (La La Land Records)

Jason then rounds off the show by playing more music from the album ELLIOT GOLDENTHAL: MUSIC FOR FILM with another suite, this time from his classic score from 1992‘s ALIEN 3.

On today’s program, I’m celebrating the 28th anniversary of CINEMATIC SOUND RADIO, which began on September 20th, 1996, at CHMR / C101.5 FM at Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ontario. The station is now called INDI 101.

For all of our anniversary programs, and yes, some years I forget to do one, I try to create something new. Sometimes it's clever, and other times it's just a simple, dumb idea that's relatively simple to implement. This show is the latter. Since the show is now 28 years old, I've decided to base it on that number.

So, you'll hear tracks that are either 28 seconds long, scores that are 28 years old, films with the number 28 in the title, the 28th track on the album, take place in 1928, or were written in 1928 featuring composers Mark Snow, John Murphy, Charlie Chaplin, Thomas Newman, Danny Elfman, Terence Blanchard, Joseph Conlon, Marc Sharman, David Arnold and Dominic Frontiere.

Admittedly, this is silly, but it was quite enjoyable to put together. In any case, I hope you'll enjoy it.

Welcome to part two of episode 33 of THE ARCHIVE on the CINEMATIC SOUND RADIO PODCAST.

Both parts feature releases from the end of 2021 to the first part of 2022. Part two begins with a tribute to the late great Vangelis with music from 1492: CONQUEST OF PARADISE (ATLANTIC)

Jason Drury, your host, then kicks off the main portion of the program with music from the recently released, underappreciated John Williams score for SPACECAMP (INTRADA), and moves on to pieces by Natale Massara from the 1972 adaptation of the classic book TREASURE ISLAND (QUARTET) and Howard Shore's experimental score for 1980's VIDEODROME (LA LA LAND RECORDS)

Jason then plays music from the new recording of Bruce Broughton's score for THE BOY WHO COULD FLY (DRAGON'S DOMAIN), the 10th anniversary re-recording of Austin Wintory's timeless video game score for JOURNEY, TRAVELLER: A JOURNEY SYMPHONY (BANDCAMP), and Vince DiCola's live rendition of ROCKY IV: THE SYMPHONIC ROCK SUITE (NOTE FOR NOTE RECORDS) to cap off the show.

Today we present a chat between host Erik Woods and Patreon member, William Welch, on THE FLAGSHIP SHOW on the CINEMATIC SOUND RADIO PODCAST.
