Cinema Snack Bar: Movies with Foodies – Details, episodes & analysis

It's the Season One Finale, and we've got a humdinger--the classic David vs Goliath story of Rocky Balboa, the fighter who always had a puncher's chance, in his first, Oscar-winning film. Sylvester Stallone's legendary character takes the spotlight among an incredible cast, and we'll ruin it all by recasting it for a modern remake. And it's not a Philly movie unless we get into Philly Cheesesteak recipes!

This week we abandon an original tenet of the show (we'll explain), break down the all-time millennial classic that is Spielberg's epic Jurassic Park, and try a delightful new twist on an old classic with sparkling Jello!

Plus as always we'll recast the movie for a right-now remake and anger you with our takes. Enjoy, and thanks for listening!

It's our first ever Rivalry Week, which means we're watching a movie we're greatly divided on. Zeke has first crack at the movie choice, so we're going with Avatar--which he loves, but Rob hates! Watch or listen and see who you side with when the smoke clears.

Let's get familial! It's the third installment of the classic Indiana Jones franchise, featuring Harrison Ford, Sean Connery and a small host of others. We'll recap the movie, recast it for a modern version, and make a staple dessert from Indiana: Sugar Cream Pie, aka Desperation Pie, aka Hoosier pie. Yum!

Zeke's movie pick for the week is an animated late-90's classic! Prince of Egypt gets everyone in the feels with the story of Moses and company escaping oppression in Egypt with a big assist from...Val Kilmer? It'll all make sense. And this week's recipe is a delicious lamb chop dish with a rosemary vinaigrette sauce and homemade hummus. Enjoy!

Our first Audience Pick is the time-spanning classic, Forrest Gump! Tom Hanks and Robin Wright-Penn deliver legendary performances in Robert Zemeckis's film about a simple man who accomplishes extraordinary things.

And we try our hands at making chocolate at home from scratch. We'll see how all that goes. Plus the Recast, where we cast this movie as though it's being remade today.

Our first AFI Top 100 pick happens to be one of the most beloved Disney animated films of all time--the classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. We'll dig into the details and the highlights, and we'll teach you how to make your own candy apples (not for poisoning, ok? Promise?). Rob's first pick in the Cinema Snack Bar pantheon goes to 2006's highly-regarded and completely stupid luchador fantasy-comedy, Nacho Libre. Jack Black stars as Ignacio, a friar who chooses a path frowned upon by the Church to help feed the orphans of his mission, finding an unexpected partner (Esqueleto) and a chaste love interest (Sister Encarnacion) along the way.

And this week's recipe is The Lord's Chips, aka homemade tortilla chips! We'll try our hand at frying and baking some delicious chips that would make even the grumpiest priests come alive with their flavor.

Plus: Is it "welt" or "whelp," and we find out what makes Zeke gag!
