It's one of those questions you've probably asked in your head but never out loud. "Why should God get the credit if I worked hard and earned it myself?". In this episode I want to help navigate us through answering this question with a story out of Daniel 4 surrounding King Nebuchadnezzar.

God grabbed your hand, and told you to follow Him. Only one problem...He hasn't told you where you're going. Typically, before one begins a journey, he or she knows the destination. Knowing the destination empowers one to persevere through today's trials in hopes of one day reaching the mountaintop. But when God doesn't reveal to you what the destination is, what is supposed to empower you then?

Some of our weakness continue to be a burden on us because God allows them to stay there for a reason...a good reason.

Knowing that the calling God has placed over your life is actually a command comes with huge benefits. For starters, God does not command humans to do anything we cannot accomplish with His empowerment. This gives us confidence to move forward in our calling, knowing that God has already made a pathway to a successful mission. All we need to do is listen, trust and obey.

You are never too unqualified or unclean to follow a command of God. In fact, following His commands is how we express our love to Him.

It is impossible to live a life that glorifies God without humility. That is how important this topic is. It's never a comfortable conversation to have, but it is imperative that we have it. Many of the things our generation does is for our own self-exaltation. We've traded in our testimonies of God's goodness for instagram captions that only praise ourselves for the hard work we do. Where does glorifying God still fit in our lives?

This week God told me to "be present." I asked Him how, and this is the message I've been inspired to preach on today. I don't think being present is the goal, as much as it is the product of reaching the goal. I think the real goal is learning how to not linger in the past nor worry about the future. "Man plans and God laughs." It's a popular saying to explain those moments in life when God completely shakes things up, or allows them to fall apart. It's hard to feel content while comparing other people's blessings to yours. The truth is, our envy and covetousness for other people's things root from our urge to glorify ourselves. This is a problem, because we were created with the purpose to glorify God. When we find ourselves more concerned with glorifying our own image than the image of God, we become idolators.

Today I had a lot to get off my chest about my current state of mind. I've been very covetous (greedy) as of late. It's all been mixed in with some comparison, envy, frustration and more. This is part 1 to the discussion since it got cut short.

The blessings come, but we still aren't in heaven. We will still face challenges. Some of us have arrived at a new level, and with every new level comes new challenges. This is not a time to shrink back, but a time to buckle down and go to work. The Lord is your strength. He's brought you hear and He will lead you through.

I pray this one doesn't go over anyone's head. There must be a balance between acknowledging the the trauma, upbringing, and environments that cause us to have a tendency to behave a certain way, and taking responsibility for our actions. Sometimes, we hear "hurt people hurt people" as a way to pardon people from their bad behavior. Although this statement holds truth, God wants His children admitting their own fault everyday.

I've been fed these messages by the Holy Spirit, encouraging the people who think they are too dirty or don't have what it takes. If you're the person this is for, God is trying to let you know something. If He's died for you, and if He has called you, stop thinking you are too dirty or not gifted enough. This entire week is about love as we commemorate the UA's 3rd anniversary. Many of us see our suffering to indicate that God has left us and no longer loves us. However, this is not the case. Suffering is expected in the life of all human beings, and our comfort doesn't come from them being absent. It comes from our faith in God being present. #DTDOYY21

Many young Christians of our generation are so scared to be problematic. We're scared to be cancelled and we are scared to be seen as a bad person. Our addiction to praise has finally exposed itself, as we are so much more concerned with being an amazing person in the eyes of the world than we are serving and representing Christ. Today I'll unpack all this and I hope that you DON'T feel attacked but enlightened.

Cheers to 100! This episode, I wanted to take the time to be transparent. Getting to episode 100 took more than I had in the tank, but I'm thankful to God that every time I was ready to walk away from this platform, He directed me back on track. Moral of the story is this: be able to carry on even when God doesn't give you the full picture. Don't stop until He says "stop."

Let's face it, we've all fell down the rabbit hole of an end time conspiracy at some point in our lives by now. Or maybe instead of a conspiracy, we sat through the a false teacher or prophet preaching a whole lotta of anti-biblical nonsense. Realistically, we will never be able to escape with the frenzy of conspiracies, false prophecies and heresies that drop every week on the internet. Christians have inherited a terrible rep in this generation. We are seen as hateful, judgmental, hypocritical, and more. Are we getting called all these names for Christ's sake, or could it be that we actually all have these faults that need to be acknowledged and corrected. Additionally, how should a Christian navigate a generation where disagreeing has become synonymous with hatred?

In life, God can call us to journey through the mountain peaks or the valleys, and each environment needs a different strategy for endurance. In the valley especially, self-pity is a very present and UNDERRATED enemy. Getting trapped in this pit will only slow you down and distance you from God. It's time we give this enemy the attention it needs to be defeated.

Most conversations surrounding the gospel talk about the physical pain, suffering and death that Christ experienced on our behalf. Today I want to talk about something else Jesus endured for our sakes, and that's humiliation. Some people think God is egotistical, but when we really take time to consider what it meant for the Creator to humble Himself and suffer at the hands of His own creation, the "egotistical" label simply doesn't stick. Let's unpack.

On part 2 of "Overcoming Sexual Sins", I talk about a common tactic the devil would use to tempt me into sexual sin: making it seem like he was my friend. Yeah, I know that sounds silly - who would ever believe satan is anyone's friend. However, in hard times, the enemy can sometimes approach you as an angel of light, as your friend, your solace, your provider of pleasure. And if we aren't careful, we can be deceived to the point of death.

#askchurchboy: I have doubts on my salvation...how do I know if I am truly saved?

Today I answer what it means, and looks like to truly be saved. As elementary as this topic may be for some, it is the most important message that I could ever preach on - as being sure of salvation is the most important thing in all of our lives! 

I honestly don't preach about this enough. But the key takeaway from this message is that we are saved by faith in Jesus Christ. He has paid the price, washing away our sins, and when we surrender our lives to Him and make Him our Lord, we secure salvation and go through a real transformation. I wish this experience on every human, I pray that as you listen to this message the Holy Spirit convicts you to be sure of your salvation. This episode will either make some feel more comfort or make some feel more discomfort - either way, GOOD. Love you all, enjoy!
