It’s taken me a year to be ok with sharing this story and how I felt about it and how it affected me. To people affected by stalking, or trying to fight a scary situation - there are people who will help you out - you are not alone and you don’t have to feel stuck in a hopeless situation and manipulated by anyone’s threats. You’re going to be ok, I promise :)

Avanti Nagral on personal brand building, bullying and why she doesn’t regret her breakup video | ep 5314 Aug 202401:12:42

This episode was recorded in August 2023. Avanti Nagral is the true epitome of a multi-hyphenate. The singer-content creator-activist juggles several fields with ease, in her trademark soft-spoken manner. There are a lot of things she’s known for - her dual degree from Harvard and Berkelee, her music which addresses themes of consent, individuality and equality and, as a by-product of having an online presence, her break-up. For a few months in 2022, the video where she spoke about her breakup dominated online discourse, spawning memes, jokes and roasts. Avanti however, refuses to be defined by online chatter, and has set her eyes on defining herself by her work. In this episode, we speak about her early years in the US, shifting to India, the time she almost got arrested, how she juggled dual degrees, why she spoke up about her breakup and how she handled the aftermath. ep 18: naomi d'souza | dessert queen of dubai18 Mar 202200:51:54

Naomi Dsouza is famously known as the ‘Dessert Queen of Dubai’. What started off as a hobby in college to find interesting places to eat in Dubai, has now spawned a digital content empire with a popular food & lifestyle Instagram page, a website that’s rated in the top 30 sites in the UAE, and now, a digital agency. On this episode, Naomi and I talk about the other side of content creation - what REALLY happens during a staycation, how to keep things private when being public is part of your job, what is was like being a part of a reality show and of course, we dive deeper into our special connection that dates back many years. Grab a coffee or some snacks or even some laundry to fold, and settle in to another Chumma conversation

ep 16: my idea of love has changed over the years 18 Feb 202200:17:40

having just gone by the mushy onslaught that was Valentine's Day and also binge-watching Love Is Blind Season 2, it got me thinking a lot about love, how we perceive it and how that has changed as we've gone from kids, to teenagers to adults. it's crazy how much pop culture and the zeitgeist has changed how we look at something as ancient/eternal like love. Do you agree? Do you disagree? Let me know!

ep 15: nostalgic words in our mother tongues ft. team mementos 12 Feb 202200:13:51

This week's Voice of Anchor Challenge had us working together in teams for the first time, and it was such a wonderful way to connect with like-minded podcasters from across India. We took up the team theme of "Nostalgia" and I have my very lovely teammates sharing the words that evoke strong emotions in their mother tongues and it was so nice to hear words from different languages like Punjabi, Tamil, Gujarati and Sanskrit. I added in my two cents on my favourite words in Malayalam and Kannada.

ep 8: take a walk in the park in mangalore with me ~ asmr version22 Jan 202200:05:19

This week’s challenge was to take your listeners through an experience - and since I spend 99.9% of my time at home, I thought why not take you out with me during my rare outing outside - this time was a visit to the Kadri Park in Mangalore to meet an old friend of mine. I envisioned an ASMR-style version and played around with audio levelling and mixing a bit to hopefully give you that experience. As always, any feedback is highly appreciated.
