A massive 4-game road trip started with Charlotte FC losing in the US Open Cup Ro16 at Birmingham Legion, an extremely frustrating loss that almost completely undid the goodwill that has been built in the fanbase during the recent hot streak. Now a journey to godless Carson California awaits and even tho the Galaxy are literally the worst team in MLS, Hayes & Brams can't help but feel a little wary. From the Crown's crappy Cup cameo to the long strange trip out west that awaits, we had a super fun time breaking it all down on a surprise Thursday Night YouTube livestream that we now present in audio form. The #TFOS got in formation and we almost talked ourselves back into feelin' good again about this team, so put us in your ears before the next match day and find a reason to smile through the pain once again.

| Traveling Support Carries the Crown to Famous Win | Charlotte FC 3-1 ATL UTD | 15 May 2023 | 00:38:37 | |
With revenge on the mind and beer on the breath, thousands of rabid Charlotte FC fans infiltrated Atlanta and took over Mercedes Benz Stadium. They were raucous, rowdy, and revved up, and they made all the difference in the world! They never stopped chanting and singing, even taking over the audio on the Apple TV stream. All that effort helped push The Crown to a famous 3-1 derby win as Justin Meram scored a brace vs his former team, and Kamil Jozwiak drew a Red Card PK that was cooly converted by Karol Swiderski. It was a glorious day in our club's history but a few things that happened also raised eyebrows and are worth digging into for danger signs. Hayes and Brams got up early on a Sunday to tape this one, so enjoy the listen and remember it's always For the Crown, Baby!
| Be Our Guest, Be Our Guest, Put our Podcast to the Test! | Charlotte FC vs Atlanta United Preview | 12 May 2023 | 01:11:57 | |
With J-Hayes still out of the country, Danny Brams once again dons the hosting hat and welcomes a few guests to the show to keep the banter flowing. First up it's Ashley Mahoney from Axios, a reporter with nearly 10 years experience covering Soccer, Business, and Soccer Business in the QC. She offers some insightful thoughts on covering the team and hoping for great stories while remaining neutral about the squad's actual results. She covered Bronibro when he was in college, people! After Ashley, stick around for some hot takes from Matt Geslin, the "sort of" CLT fan who likes to view things from 30,000 feet...sometimes that gives him a perspective that us superfans can miss...other times he'll just make you mad. But that's why we love him, and that's why we're going rapid-fire to have him answer #TFOS Questions.Charlotte FC has never been hotter and the stakes have rarely been higher for a Rivalry Week Match vs Atlanta United, so strap in for a super-sized episode that will inform, entertain, and maybe even infuriate you just a tad. It's for the Crown, Baby!

Yet another Away Day Disaster has left the Crown reeling near the bottom of the table, but it's tough to steer full-on into the frustration after a fun trip to DC for your humble hosts gave time for reflection and a wider perspective. | US Open Cup draw, RSL preview + TFOS questions | 07 Apr 2023 | 00:44:02
John Hayes and Danny Brams are at OMB for a stein-cast! Matt Geslin joins the crew. What happens to a rivalry deferred? That's the question we're left asking in this Soccer City after Charlotte FC and the Charlotte Independence were not drawn against each other in the US Open Cup. We would've loved to see it happen but we can still meet in the 4th round if we both advance, so the dream lives on. Saturday night's match vs. RSL is a a chance for points on the road, Will Christian Lattanzio start the same XI or make changes? RSL has lost 4 matches in a row and given up 8 goals in their last two, so they are prime for the picking. What's the best XI for Charlotte to play in order to get the three points? Hayes and Brams break it down on the patio of Olde Mecklenburg Brewery, slamming steins of Munzlers and enjoying the transition into a beautiful Southern Spring. Through it all we let the #TFOS Questions be our guide, and the queries are as strong as ever. It's another classic episode to get you in the perfect frame of mind for this weekend, so strap in and enjoy the listen and get ready to climb the table cuz it's always For the Crown, Baby!

Charlotte FC is back in the win column and Hayes and Brams are back in the high life again celebrating the success and sipping on some Sunday Night Vino. In a game with candidates galore we'll tell you our Man of the Match and why it can only be One of Our Own, and we're also not afraid to nitpick a few things about the win to make sure the squad isn't just "painting over the cracks" as we move forward in the Campaign. We debate what this game means for the "Sisniega vs Marks" conversation and discuss how some of the things we saw at the Independence match on Saturday evening could be constructive to the boys who'll be back at the Fortress next week. To top it all off we'll run through some "Five Word Takeaways" from the #TFOS and climb up into our ivory tower to rain down judgement and disdain on some unruly Orlando fan behavior postgame. It's the post-win round up you can only get from the Charlotte Soccer Show, and it's always For the Crown, Baby!!
| Independence Manager Mike Jeffries & Goalkeeper Austin Pack + CLTFC vs. Orlando preview | 17 Mar 2023 | 01:06:29 | |
It's been a slow start for Charlotte's MLS side but hope still springs eternal in this Soccer City, especially with our USL1 Charlotte Independence about to kick off their season. We've got a special episode ahead of Saturday's Season Opener at Memorial, as we welcome the gaffer Mike Jeffries to the show, as well as Goalkeeper Austin Pack. Both have deep Carolina roots and strong history with the Independence, and the chance to sit down and talk about the Jacks' past, present, and future was a true delight. Getting to know these guys is something any soccer fan can enjoy even if you aren't super familiar with what the Independence are doing. By the time you've heard what they have to say, you'll be wondering where to buy tickets for Saturday.Of course Charlotte FC is ready to rock as well, looking for a result on the road and desperate to kickstart the campaign. Could a formation switch and a "back-to-basics" approach yield fruit? We'll break down why Latty's mid-week presser may give us reason to doubt. There's a lot of soccer left and it gets going in full force this weekend as we set out in search of a #SixPointSaturday.
| We're Broken | Charlotte FC 0-3 Atlanta United | 13 Mar 2023 | 01:02:36 | |
As Charlotte FC limped along in the 2nd Half of an eventual 3-0 loss to Atlanta United at The Fortress, the video board at BOA went on the fritz, showing static instead of the game, and a fan standing next to Danny Brams in Section 120 morosely proclaimed "We're broken." It was arguably the poorest performance Charlotte FC had ever put in front of their home fans, and it's got everyone looking for answers. Hayes & Brams dig into Christian Lattanzio using some strong language postgame to call out new DP Enzo Copetti, then get into the battle of "who looks worse on the pitch, Andre or Kamil?" There's not much to say about the Bronico Left Back experiment other than the fact it needs to end, and is it true that we actually heard boos coming from the Mint Street End late in the match?? We wrap things up with some thoughts on how hard it can be to create traditions as the movement to turn 'Volare' into a post-match sing along for the fans runs into some resistance. Despite a nightmare start to the season and the feeling that we're a club in crisis, there's still so much joy to be found in supporting this club, so enjoy the listen and remember it's always For the Crown, Baby!
| The Turf War vs Atlanta United | 10 Mar 2023 | 00:47:29 | |
Winless in two games this season and with an early morning Derby match on the docket, things have certainly been better for Charlotte FC. Questions are swirling in #TFOS land and Hayes & Brams are here with some answers...and quite possibly a few good ideas for digging ourselves out of this hole. We spotlight which players haven't carried their own weight so far this season, and who's been trying to do too much. How can this club unlock the power of our OG DP? And is BroniBro playing Left Back an "experiment" or the best way to get our most talented XI on the pitch together.? It's a dive into all of those issues, plus the debut a new moniker for the CLT-ATL Derby as well as a new segment pitting the best and brightest listener-projected lineups vs the slightly off-kilter mind of the man known as Danny Brams. Most importantly of all, this episode celebrates why being a CLT FC Supporter is such a beautiful thing regardless of results, a phenomenon that we hope never changes as we all watch this Club grow up before our very eyes. Charlotte Soccer Show...it's For the Crown, Baby! Enjoy the listen.
