Celtic cruised to a second successive win of the Premiership campaign at the weekend and Brendan Rodgers’ has his side playing some impressive stuff in the early weeks of the season.
But whilst he and his players continue to do their bit on the park, it remains to be seen if those behind the scenes can do their bit off it and to provide the necessary re-enforcements to the first team squad.
As always at this time of year signing rumours swirl around cyberspace but the time for real action is fast approaching with now less than 3 weeks of the window remaining.
One man who won’t be making any moves this window is skipper Callum McGregor and we take a look at his decision to step down from international duty in order to fully focus on all things Celtic.

| Countdown To Kick Off: Managerless Aberdeen Await As Our Disastrous Transfer Window Ends | 01 Feb 2024 | 00:55:54 | |
Amongst all the noise surrounding Celtic's bemusing January transfer window it'd be easy to forget we face another crucial league fixture in under 48 hours.
Managerless Aberdeen provide the opposition in Saturday's lunchtime kick off at Pittodrie with Celtic looking to make it 7 wins in a row.
Frustratingly, Brendan Rodgers' line-up will have a similar look and feel to it as he faces up to the fact that the quality additions he so desired in the window just haven't been delivered by the board.
We now know who'll be here until the end of the season (and who won't be!) and so lets hope that we have enough in the tank to get over the line, starting with three points in the North East!

| Celtic Exchange Weekly: If Nothing Changes, Then Nothing Changes | Celtic At Mid-Season Crossroads | 29 Jan 2024 | 01:09:20 | |
Celtic have now extended their winning run to 6 games.
So what’s the problem?
In light of what’s looking increasingly like another failed transfer window tensions are rising off the park as fans grow ever more frustrated with the club.
Brendan Rodgers himself may well be questioning his own return to Glasgow with many of the same poor practices that led to his initial exit seemingly alive and kicking.
Unless we see something dramatic in these final days of the January window then we may well be seeing further changes behind the scenes by the seasons end.
Whether that be the manager himself, or one of Peter or Mark Lawwell remains to be seen.
Join Tino, Mif, James & Asim as they cover a vital week on and off the park in this latest episode of The Celtic Exchange Weekly.

| Final Whistle: Celtic Make It 6 In a Row With Win Over Ross County But Questions Remain | 27 Jan 2024 | 00:44:05 | |
Celtic remain 5 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership after today's 1-0 win over Ross County but the performance from Brendan Rodgers' men left a lot to be desired at times.
The Hoops got off to the perfect start with a deflected Alistair Johnston strike in the very first minute but that would be the end of the scoring on the day - much to the surprise of most in attendance.
Luis Palma had a chance to extend the lead from the spot, but the Honduran winger missed TWO attempts to do so, which epitomised a frustrating day.
A look at the bigger picture always provides perspective but Rodgers himself will concede that this Celtic side could - and should - perform so much better.
An interesting final week of the transfer window now awaits.

Another important fixture awaits as the Hoops target a 6th straight win in all competitions!

For Brendan Rodgers' side its a chance to pick up where they left off after 4 wins from 4 ahead of the winter break.

| Final Whistle: Bernardo And The Bhoys Cruise Into The Winter Break As Celtic Take Care Of St Mirren | 02 Jan 2024 | 01:02:49 | |
Celtic made it 4 wins from 4 with a convincing 3-0 victory in Paisley and now head into the winter break 8 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership table.
Hot on the heels of his goalscoring performance in the Glasgow Derby Paulo Bernardo was at it again, providing two assists and taking home the man of the match award for his night's work.
Not far behind was Matt O'Riley - making his 100th appearance for Celtic - who added another goal and an assist to his tally.
Daizen Maeda and Greg Taylor were the other goalscorers in a convincing display all round for the Hoops who can now relax and regroup before returning to Scottish Cup action on the 21st of the month.

Whilst most of us will still be on a high after Saturday's massive win against Rangers, Brendan Rodgers and his players still have one last hurdle left to negotiate before they can head off for the winter break.
The Hoops face St Mirren in Paisley on Matchday 22 and it's vital that they fellow up the weekend win with a similar result and performance against Stevie Robinson's men.
Goalscorers Kyogo Furuhashi and Paulo Bernardo will be looking to pick up where they left off, whereas others such as summer signing Maik Nawrocki and Liel Abada may be given the opportunity for more game time following the derby win.
Celtic start 2024 with an eight point lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership table and will be going all out to maintain the gap as they take on the Buddies in the first game of the new year.

| Final Whistle: Talk Is Cheap | Celtic Step Up When It Matters Most With Dominant Derby Win | 31 Dec 2023 | 01:06:39 | |
As is often the case there was a lot of noise from the other side of the city in the build up to the last derby of the year.
And as has so often been the case Celtic once again done their talking on the park by commanding the game and by taking all three points.
Paulo Bernardo and Kyogo grabbed the all-important goals on the day but so many players in green and white stood up to be counted as Brendan Rodgers' side exerted their authority over their Glasgow rivals.
The result leaves the Hoops eight points clear ahead of our final festive fixture against St Mirren (Tuesday) and the Bhoys will be going all out to maintain that lead before we then head into the winter break.

| Countdown To Kick-Off: Time For Brendan Rodgers & Celtic To Step Up | Celtic v Rangers, Big Match Preview | 28 Dec 2023 | 01:06:18 | |
It's been a mixed season so far as Brendan Rodgers adjusts to life back in the Celtic hot-seat.
However, there's no better time for the manager and his players to step up to the big occasion than in Saturday's crucial clash with Rangers.
They'll play out the final game of the calendar year in front of a full house at Celtic Park who'll be roaring the Bhoys on in their aim to extend their league lead to 8 points.
Availability doubts remain over the likes of Cameron Carter-Vickers, Reo Hatate and Liel Abada but whatever line-up Rodgers' goes with he'll have the team fully prepped for the all-important clash.
In 14 fixtures against Rangers he's lost just once and will be looking to strengthen that record further following Saturday's lunchtime kick-off.

| Final Whistle: Mikey Johnston Seals The Deal As Celtic Dominate Dundee At Dens | 26 Dec 2023 | 00:46:59 | |
It was as dominant as display as you'll see all season but Celtic had to wait before eventually overseeing Dundee at Dens Park this afternoon.
Going in goal-less at half-time can always lead to some nerves but the Bhoys stuck to their task with Paulo Bernardo and Mikey Johnston stepping up with the all important second half goals.
It was a telling contribution from Johnston in particular, a player who knows he's playing for his Celtic future, and his late double could be a pivotal moment for the Irish international.
The win now means Celtic have scored five without reply in their last two fixtures and can now look ahead with confidence to Saturday's crucial Glasgow Derby.

Saturday’s 2-0 win over Livingston was a step in the right direction following recent defeats and Brendan Rodgers will be hoping for more of the same from the Bhoys against Tony Docherty’s side.

| Previewing Celtic's January Transfer Window | With Anthony Joseph - Sky Sports News | 24 Dec 2023 | 01:02:30 | |
The January Transfer Window opens in little over a week and for Celtic it could be one of the most important windows in recent years.
The reward for lifting the Scottish Premiership title this season is automatic qualification for the new (and substantially more lucrative) Champions League, and it's a must that Celtic take their place at European Football's top table in the 2024/25 season.
This window allows Brendan Rodgers a chance to bring in the quality that we so desperately need and top of his shopping list must be a left back and a striker - and hopefully a few more besides.
Almost as important will be the exits as the manager looks to trim down his 32-man squad to a more workable number.
Will we see some of our summer recruits departing earlier than planned? Will Rodgers be backed with the quality needed to take his side to the next level?
We're about to find out!
Tino was joined by Anthony Joseph of Sky Sports News to speculate on who stays, who goes, and who comes in as Celtic look to kick on in the second half of this all important season.
Tune in now to this Christmas Eve bonus as we get set for a another tense few weeks of transfer talk at Celtic Park!

| Final Whistle: Celtic Win, Kyogo Scores, Green Brigade Back At Celtic Park! Happy Christmas! | 23 Dec 2023 | 00:46:20 | |
Following two league losses on the bounce nothing other than a win against Livingston would do today - and that's exactly what then Bhoys delivered.
A combination of Livingston's approach and the blustery conditions ensured it was never going to be a game packed with free flowing football but ultimately Celtic done what they had to do to secure the win.
Kyogo and Liam Scales were the goalscorers on the day, both coming from Luis Palma assists, and Brendan Rodgers' men must now take it into the Boxing Day clash with Dundee where another vital three points are up for grabs.

| Countdown To Kick-Off: The Green Brigade Are Back For Celtic v Livingston | Brendan And The Bhoys To Get Back To Winning Ways | 22 Dec 2023 | 00:47:15 | |
It's been a long drawn out affair but tomorrow will see the return of the Green Brigade at Celtic Park and it should give the players a timely boost just when they need it most.
It's been a difficult couple of weeks domestically with league defeats to Hearts and Kilmarnock but Celtic's destiny is very much in their own hands and no better place to get back on track than a packed Celtic Park.
Tomorrow is the first of four crucial fixtures between now and the winter break and nothing but a confidence boosting win will do for Celtic ahead of a huge week in the context of the season.

Brendan Rodgers will be looking for more of the same after last week's opening day win but will be coming up against a relatively unknown force in David Gray's new look Hibs side, and so will have to be at their best.
Kyogo, Khun, Reo and O'Riley were all in fine form last week and more of the same should give the manager confidence as he looks to make it two wins from two!

League defeats are like busses!
Hot on the heels of our first Scottish Premiership defeat of the season at Rugby Park, Celtic followed up with an even worse display as they fell 2-0 to Hearts at Celtic Park.
It’s a game which featured just one of our summer signings (Luis Palma) but not the likes of Gustaf Lagerbielke and Mitchell Frame following the midweek win over Feyenoord.
Fret not though, Kwon made the bench!
With Tomoki Iwata missing out through injury David Turnbull won this week’s midfield tombola, but all will be in the draw once again when next week’s game with Livi comes around.
Post match Captain Callum McGregor expressed his own concerns regarding the squad as he too called for suitable reinforcements to be drafted in during the January window.
Whether we all get our wishes there or not is a different story.

| Final Whistle: Jekyll And Hyde Celtic Are At It Again As Hearts Break Home Record | 16 Dec 2023 | 01:03:44 | |
The worst domestic performance we've seen from Celtic since the last one!
If you thought last week's second half showing against Kilmarnock made for bad viewing then the full 90 minutes against Hearts most certainly won't be for you.
There's something far wrong at Celtic just now, on and off the pitch, and solutions need to be found quickly if we're to retain our Scottish Premiership title.
Talented and experienced a coach as Brendan Rodgers may be he's NOT currently getting a tune from this squad of players and it's now starting to cost us.
Today's 2-0 defeat by Hearts was the latest poor performance this season and it's a worrying trend that must be addressed.
Join Tino & Asim as they bring you all the big talking points from another disappointing day at Celtic Park in the latest Final Whistle Show.

| Countdown To Kick-Off: Celtic Look To Follow Up Euro Win With Three Points Against Hearts | 15 Dec 2023 | 00:41:08 | |
Will the win against Feyenoord provide the catalyst that kick-starts Celtic's season?
Brendan Rodgers will certainly be hoping so as he and his players get set for four tricky fixtures between now and the turn of the year.
The first of those is Hearts who visit Celtic Park tomorrow on the back of defeats by Aberdeen and Rangers.
Despite this we know how difficult an opponent the Edinburgh side can be and Celtic will need to be on it from the first whistle to ensure we take all three points.

| Final Whistle: Lagerbielke Takes Revenge For Rotterdam On Big Night For The Bhoys | 13 Dec 2023 | 00:57:40 | |
Ask the Celtic players and fans if tonight meant nothing.
Representing Celtic is never meaningless and Brendan Rodgers, his team and the Celtic support got their rewards against Feyenoord with a last gasp winner giving us the Champions League win that's evaded us for so long.
It was an entertaining game on the night with Celtic undoubtedly riding their luck at times, though we also seen some big performances from the likes of Joe Hart, Liam Scales and Callum McGregor.
Now that our European adventures are over for another season the Bhoys must now use this result and performance to galvanise us for the league challenges that we face - starting with a big one against Hearts on Saturday.
Meantime however, enjoy this extended Final Whistle Show with Tino, James & Brydo as Celtic turned over the Dutch champions.

| Countdown To Kick-Off: Champions League Reaction Required As Hoops Look To Get Back On Track Against Feyenoord | 12 Dec 2023 | 00:35:54 | |
On paper there's little to play for tomorrow night against Feyenoord, but the Celtic players owe it to the fans as well as to themselves to put in a positive performance against the Dutch champions.
Sunday's defeat by Kilmarnock fell woefully below the required standards and Brendan Rodgers' must get a response from his men in order to restore confidence ahead of some vital fixtures.
He may be tempted to rotate his starting XI in certain areas but at some time very soon we need to see a consistency in his team selection.
Inconsistent line-ups have led to inconsistent results and we need to resolve that sooner rather than later.

| Celtic Exchange Weekly: Another Crash At Killie, Collective Failings & The Kyogo Question | 11 Dec 2023 | 01:05:41 | |
Celtic fell to their first league defeat of the season at the weekend though it's a result that many feel has been coming.
Like St Johnstone just 7 days prior the Hoops managed to turn in yet another Jekyll & Hyde type performance having ended the half a goal to the good, only to undo all their good work in spectacular style in the second 45.
It was a day to forget for Liverpool loanee Nat Phillips though he wasn’t alone in falling short of the required levels on the day.
The manager, the players and most certainly the recruitment team all find themselves in the firing line for this one with solutions now required as a matter of urgency.
One of the most puzzling issues is the form of current player of the year Kyogo Furuhashi who seems miles away from his brilliant best.
Finding a way to resolve that and returning the talismanic striker to form would go a long way to solving some of the manager’s problems – though maybe not all of them…

| Final Whistle: Hoops Hammer Hibs As New Look Line-up Responds To Rodgers | 07 Dec 2023 | 00:34:44 | |
Things have felt a bit flat at Celtic in recent weeks but the Bhoys blew all that away on Wednesday night with a complete and controlled performance against Nick Montgomery's Hibs.
Brendan Rodgers rang the changes with both Tomoki Iwata and Mikey Johnston stepping in for rare starts and both played their part as the new look starting XI roared into an early lead against the Edinburgh side with Oh getting credit for the opener.
Further goals from Matt O'Riley, Luis Palma and Oh's second made sure of the points with a late consolation goal as good as it got for Hibs.
It maintains the gap at the top of the table and the Hoops can now look forward to Sunday's lunchtime clash with Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.

| Countdown To Kick-Off: Celtic Play Host To Hibs As Fixture Frenzy Continues | 05 Dec 2023 | 00:30:55 | |
Celtic have had little time to recover from Sunday's Jekyll & Hyde performance in Perth with Hibs now up next on the agenda on Wednesday night.
It's a relentless run as always at this time of year which sees us in the midst of a crucial period of league fixtures between now and the new year.
Brendan Rodgers - fresh from his half time rant against St Johnstone - now has some calls to make in terms of his starting XI with Mikey Johnston and Tomoki Iwata but vying for valuable minutes after impressive cameo appearances at the weekend.
Team selection aside, three points are the priority as the Hoops look to maintain the gap at the top of the table.

| Flying The Flag & Money In The Bag - What Next For Celtic's Summer? | 05 Aug 2024 | 01:03:08 | |
Celtic picked up where they left off last season by cruising past Kilmarnock in league action!
It was a four goal fiesta on Flag Day on a day of celebration at Celtic Park but frustration remains at the lack of new signings as the clock ticks down on the summer window.
Is former CEO Peter Lawwell to blame for some of that though, or is the current Chairman a convenient bogeyman for fans to blame?
We cover it all and much more in this latest episode.

| TCE Weekly: Brendan’s Fury, Mikey’s Magic & A Message To First Team Fringe Players | 04 Dec 2023 | 00:58:58 | |
It’s not often we see Brendan Rodgers get too high with the highs, or too low with the lows.
But the manager couldn’t hide his fury at half-time on Sunday at McDiarmid Park after his players put in a display that fell way below the high standards that have been set.
There’s no doubt it had the desired effect as the Hoops scored three without reply in the second half against St Johnstone – but should it have been required in the first place?
One player who made a notable impact on the day was forgotten man Mikey Johnston who gave a timely reminder of what he can offer with a game changing performance.
Can he finally now show the talent he undoubtedly has on a consistent basis?
That’s the challenge Brendan Rodgers has set for him and some of his team-mates as the manager looks to cull his 32-man squad in the weeks ahead.
Who stays, and who goes as he looks to assert his authority on the team?

A variety of culprits have been blamed for Celtic's failure to pick up all three points today.
From Peter Lawwell to Rod Stewart and everyone else in between, but the players and manager must ultimately take the responsibility for this afternoon's disappointment.
Though we had two opportunities to score from the penalty spot we failed to create enough notable chances in open play, and that came back to haunt us as Motherwell grabbed a 90th minute equaliser to put a dent in our day.
The players don't have long to feel sorry for themselves with Tuesday's crunch Champions League tie with Lazio fast approaching but Brendan Rodgers will be hoping for significant improvements as we seek to maintain that lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

Since the formation of Celtic back on the 6th November 1887, charity has never been far from the heart of the club.
Over 135 years later, most Celtic supporters will be aware of the ongoing charity work carried out in the club’s name by Celtic FC Foundation but less will be familiar with the Celtic FC Foundation Supporters Committee – a group who work hand in hand with the Foundation in supporting their various fundraising ventures.
In this episode we hear from Stephanie Drew and Matt Corr, two members of the committee who both have strong reasons for doing what they do.
In particular you’ll hear Stephanie’s story of the invaluable support that the Foundation has given to her family and to her young son Sean, and it’s clear to hear the passion and pride she and Matt take from being involved.
We also discuss their latest annual event – taking place on Saturday 23rd March 2024 – including details on this year’s theme and what attendees can expect on the night.
It’s set to be a very special night with all proceeds going to a number of very worthy causes so please take some time to check it out and support the event if at all possible.

| TCE Weekly: New Euro Approach Required, Promise From Project Signings & More VAR Madness | 13 Nov 2023 | 00:21:28 | |
Two 6-0 scorelines in a week – one good, one not so good – perhaps tell us all we need to know about the different challenges Celtic face domestically and in Europe.
So why do we continue to take the same approach year on year?
With the Champions League format set to be revolutionised next season the need for us to up our game on the continent is now more pressing than ever if we’re to remain relevant in that domain.
Elsewhere we saw more reasons for optimism about our recent signings at the weekend as wingers Yang and Luis Palma stole the show against Aberdeen.
Not to be outdone, January signing Oh also joined the party with an impressive double against the Dons.
The 6-0 win was only marred by a horrendous challenge on Kyogo that only resulted in a yellow card. If this is the level under VAR then we’re maybe in more trouble than we thought!

| Final Whistle: Rebound Bhoys Hit Dons For Six at Celtic Park | 12 Nov 2023 | 00:08:13 | |
Celtic recorded their second 6-0 scoreline in less than a week though today’s was a lot more welcome than the last one!
Luis Palma and Yang were the main men on the day as the wingers gave Aberdeen’s defence a torrid time throughout as the Hoops ran riot.
A late flurry of goals put some gloss on the scoreline but in truth it was a deserving result as the Bhoys responded well to their midweek disappointment.
The one big downside to the day was the head knock that Kyogo received early in the second half. How an off field ref plus VAR cannot see a red card for the incident is beyond belief and we’ll await the explanations on that one.

| Countdown To Kick-Off: Celtic Looking To Shake Off Euro Hangover Against The Dons | 11 Nov 2023 | 00:06:55 | |
The heavy defeat to Atletico will be fresh in the memory as Celtic take to the park on Sunday afternoon against Aberdeen, but it’s a game that presents a perfect opportunity to get back to winning ways.
The Dons will be feeling good about themselves after recent results but for Brendan Rodgers men it’s another chance to exert their domestic dominance.
They’ll have to do so without Daizen Maeda who joins the injury list, but as was the case with Reo Hatate this simply provides another squad member with a chance to step up to the plate and show what they’ve got to offer.
It’s an important afternoon for the Hoops before we then enter the latest international break.

| Final Whistle: Questions To Answer As Celtic Crash To Heavy Defeat In Madrid | 08 Nov 2023 | 00:08:12 | |
At 11 v 11 Celtic knew they'd be in for a challenging night in Madrid.
However, once Daizen Maeda saw red, the task became almost impossible.
The loss of six goals is a humbling experience for any group of players and Brendan Rodgers - who'll be experiencing his own frustrations - must now pick his squad back up for another important league game this weekend.
Looking at the bigger picture this felt like the night where our lack of summer investment finally came back to bite us and the board themselves have some questions to answer in terms of what the overall ambition for the club is at this moment in time.

Celtic take on Atletico Madrid on Matchday 4 of this season’s Champions League and it’s a massive fixture for Brendan Rodgers and his players as they take on the Spanish giants.
A positive result will be required if we’re to have realistic ambitions of European football after Christmas but the Bhoys proved just two weeks ago at Celtic Park that they’re more than capable of competing with Diego Simeone’s side.
Key players Matt O’Riley, Kyogo, Daizen Maeda and Luis Palma were all rested from the starting XI at the weekend and along with their team-mates will be raring to go for this one.

| Final Whistle: Celtic Take Care Of Ten Men County To Go Eight Clear At The Top | 04 Nov 2023 | 00:07:10 | |
An early sending off left Ross County with a mountain to climb against the Champions and though they were made to wait for them Celtic eventually got the goals to take all three points in the Highlands.

| Countdown To Kick-Off: Celts Have Saints In Their Sights | 31 Oct 2023 | 00:06:27 | |
The good thing about football is that there’s always another game around the corner when you’re looking to right some wrongs.

| TCE Weekly: Has Celtic’s Summer Signing Strategy Let Brendan Rodgers Down? | 30 Oct 2023 | 00:15:39 | |
Celtic dropped league points for just the second time this season as a stubborn Hibs side held on for a 0-0 draw at Easter Road.
The game came just days after a draw of a different kind, as the Hoops held La Liga side Atletico Madrid to a very credible Champions League stalemate in midweek.
But, had Brendan Rodgers been backed better in the summer – particularly in the striking department – would we be looking at a couple of very different results?
So far the manger has performed admirably with the players available to him, but is there a concern over quality when it comes to his backup players?
We take an in-depth look at Celtic’s summer recruitment and on what impact (or not!) the various new Bhoys have had across the season so far.
Tino, Mif & James cover this key topic and much more in this latest episode of The Celtic Exchange Weekly.

| Final Whistle: Easter Road Stalemate Highlights Squad Concerns For Rodgers | 29 Oct 2023 | 00:08:01 | |
In the bigger picture we can all make our peace with eight wins and two draws from Celtic’s opening ten league fixtures. Results which see us comfortably out on top in the Scottish Premiership table.
However the stalemate at Easter Road was frustrating, not just for the result, but as much for the options – or lack of - that Brendan Rodgers had at his disposal when he turned to his substitutes bench.
The players he’s utilised across the season so far have performed admirably to this stage, but in terms of depth do Celtic have some notable issues at this time?

If the Bhoys can replicate the performance that we witnessed against Hearts at Tynecastle then surely another three points will follow for Brendan Rodgers’ men.
