A White Lion Deep Dive With Mike Tramp17 févr. 202600:30:36

Truly one of the most underrated bands of the 1980's was White Lion.

Great songs, killer guitar player, charismatic, hot singer, talented rhythm section and the "Pride" (no pun intended) of MTV.

Then they were gone.....I caught up with their founder Mike Tramp for a candid conversation over 30 years since our last chat (when we both were wearing leather and had GIANT hair!) about forming the band, his relationship with Vito Bratta, why the East Coast means so much to him, and more.

What happened? Was there gas still left in the tank? Did their record company support them? And Mike explains how he is still honoring the White Lion song legacy while not being the same guy he was in the 1980's.

It was a great ride, with Mike Tramp from White Lion.

Paul is also such a character with his ability to weave stories through his musical accomplishments, he's a dream interview. And his new record is something else, with music coming from him and lyrics coming from the writings of Washington's Rules Of Civility (you can't make it up!) Ron Keel Takes Us To "Keel World" with Music and Reinvention20 janv. 202600:37:50

Wow, did I have a BLAST sitting down to chat with Ron Keel, who many remember from his 80's band KEEL and his Country music re-birth as "Ronnie Lee Keel".

Ron is a full on "re-inventor" - with his company RFK Media, pivoting into online radio, movies, comic books and more. While never abandoning the Keel fans and constantly recreating ways to keep the 80's masses engaged.

We discuss Technology, AI, Rebranding, Gene Simmons and surrounding yourself with those that believe in you.

The "Right To Rock" is full on this week as Carr Stereo enters KEEL WORLD- with the Metal Cowboy- Ron Keel .

Dameon Aranda From Aranda on Success, Loss and Coming Back BIG17 janv. 202600:20:19

It's always inspiring to connect with a band that I have been a huge fan of, that may not be top of mind for rock fans UNTIL they come back with something BIG. That is what this week's Carr Stereo Podcast represents.

As a radio programmer, I have been a longtime fan of Aranda.

Formed by brothers  Dameon and Gabe Aranda out of Oklahoma City.

Aranda  busted out of the active rock scene in the late 2000’s with songs like "Still In The Dark", "Whyyawannabringmedown"- (covered by Kelly Clarkson) "Satisfied", and more- Great sound, big chunky hits.

Then Aranda  kind of disappeared- until 2022 when they returned with  "Recollections Of A Painted Year".

Now they are back-  with a great new single-  "You Don’t Wanna Know" - that was the #1 most added song at rock radio in it's first week- Well deserved- It's a SMASH!

I caught up with  Dameon Aranda - Aranda's guitarist and songwriter to discus where the band has been and where they are going - Don't know them? Kind of remember them" ? You will! Aranda returns.

Success, loss and rebuilding - all covered  this week with Dameon Aranda.

Let's jam with a hit machine! 38 Special! So many killer songs and as we enter a new year that has so many band hitting the road for 50th anniversary tours, I'm thrilled that 38 Special is one of them. I caught up with my old friend, 38 Special founder Don Barnes to talk about that magic catalog of tunes, advice he got from Ronnie Van Zant of Lynyrd Skynyrd, his songwriting heroes, and the "MUSCLE and MELODY" that sustains a band for 50 years. AND the band has a new release to celebrate their 50th called- "MILESTONE" - and Don opens up about crafting their first new record in 20 years. Always a bright light to spend time with Don Barnes.

I'm so excited to launch my second season of Carr Stereo with one of rock music's most epic voices- GLENN HUGHES- Glenn has been in so many incredible bands - Deep Purple, Trapeze, Hughes/Thrall, Black Country Communion, and of course his solo work. Zero 9:36 on Songwriting, Beats vs. Metal, Production and The Love Of Pop Music16 déc. 202500:24:42

What happens when a kid from Langhorne Pennsylvania becomes a fan of Slipknot, Meek Mill and Shinedown and decides to write and produce his own music at age 8? Chances are things will turn out pretty cool!

Matt Cullen morphed into Zero 9:36 after being inspired to create music. And create he has. I had a blast getting to know Zero and catch up with him live from the road just before he dropped his new album- "They Were Always Here" - which he describes as a "mixtape of the sounds I love".

Fresh familiar, future.

New Music Discovery with Vengent Strays on the 80's, forging their own path and their "Famous" Fans12 déc. 202500:33:47

Carr Stereo LOVES exposing new talent and Vengent Strays are SO talented! Vengent Strays -  Not just a band - It’s a Movement.  Hailing from California, members  honed their craft as one of SoCal's most popular 80's covers bands (Stay Tuned) and have been described as raw energy, cranked guitars, and unapologetic attitude,  delivering a sound that hits like a shot of adrenaline.

Now it's time to craft their OWN music.

With gritty swagger and an anthemic punch, the band channels classic rock power through a modern lens. Known for electrifying live shows and arena sized hooks

Vengent Strys Are-

Thomas Stibbie

Vocals

Jacob Stibbie

Guitar

London Caswell

Bass

Logan Sheppard

Drums

They have a killer new single - "Passion On The Run" and are young, hungry and talented. What a combination!
