Forest Veil is the solo work of Portland, OR producer, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter Monica Metzler. Following the echoes of her elusive muse, Forest Veil creates hypnotic psych-folk that maps the emotional terrain of humanity and its place in the cosmos. Melding a voice that sounds like smokey quartz with psychedelic guitar riffs and enigmatic lyricism, Forest Veil’s sound evokes a haunting nostalgia for other worlds. Though she primarily writes on her own, Forest Veil records and performs with others. An avid guitarist for over 25 years, Forest Veil’s music showcases virtuosic guitar shredding and dynamic musicality. Forest Veil’s music has been placed in ads, movies, and TV shows.

Metzler previously released music under Moniker. Her first work as Forest Veil came in the form of her 2016 release, Zoolights. This album was released on Spirit House Records, which she co-founded with musician Johnanna Warren, in the same year. She currently plays drums for the Portland all-femme band, Pool Boys.

In addition to her musical pursuits, Metzler is a Program Director at a youth music non-profit (My Voice Music) and an experiential arts family therapist.

Self Care Community

Veda Hingert-McDonald (she/her) is a Canadian violinist and composer currently based
in Boulder, Colorado. Drawn to story just as much as sound, Veda’s performance of both
new and standard repertoire aims to balance personal connection with tradition, and her
compositions often draw on narrative and programmatic elements to explore themes of
nature and questions she has about the world around her.
Outside of her musical life Veda is active in environmental and food justice work
including training in permaculture design, founding a zero waste concert series, and
creating an Indigenous food justice garden. She sees both chamber music and
permaculture as opportunities to build and model the kind of interconnectedness and
empathy she wishes to see in the world.

“We are three passionate millennial women who have extensive experience in the senior care industry.  Our experience has shown us where the gaps and needs are for people living with dementia and their loved ones.  We saw the need for real and tangible support which, oftentimes is not available to them through larger, more institutional organizations.
The need for additional, deeper support and resources remains a real and ongoing concern, and we created The Collective to address and support these needs as well as to work toward normalizing, not stigmatizing people living with dementia. “I am the visionary founder and CEO of Nesa’s Hemp, the world’s first-ever full-spectrum CBDa oil. It is created through a unique process I developed myself that preserves all the healing compounds of the hemp plant. This promotes optimal healing and restores the body to its natural state.

My journey with hemp/CBD began five years ago when my mother was diagnosed with cancer and given 6 months to live. Heartbroken but determined, I traveled the world on a mission to find natural ways to overcome her health condition. That is when I discovered that the hemp plant is known to be a miracle

plant. However, when I met with the leading CBD producers in the US, I realized that none of them had a high-quality hemp product. I knew what I had to do! After facing many challenges, I was finally able to create a product for my mother, and subsequently other people in the world, that is an effective alternative health solution.

Today, Nesa’s Hemp is certified as the highest-quality organic hemp product on the market.

Today, my mom is cancer-free and enjoying a happy, healthy, and fulfilling life and I’m on a mission to help fulfill millions of lives across the globe.”
