Car News By Carcode Episode 10! In recent news Honda have confirmed that the Prelude Hybrid will arrive in the UK in early 2026, the Ford Puma GEN-E was released & there’s been news that the Volkswagen Golf production line will be moving back to Puebla Mexico.. I also reflected on my favourite cars of the year in a few categories! I know this isn’t an original idea, and many publications & creators have done similar, but it was fun to summarise and shortlist the cars I was lucky enough to review this past year. In this podcast I discussed the new Audi Q5, the MG ZS Hybrid + & the Honda HR-V Facelift. The Q5 being the main story, which is long overdue an update with the model being launched in 2017 and receiving a facelift in 2021, the new Q5 features Audi’s new PPC platform (Premium Platform Combustion) & also the new MHEV Plus technology which is more like a full hybrid than a ‘Mild Hybrid’ The MG ZS Hybrid+ will use the MG3’s Hybrid+ Powertrain in a much more practical package, pricing has been confirmed starting at £21,995, so it should be very popular! In Episode 8 I discussed the introduction of the Smart #5 electric SUV which is due to arrive next year, as well as a few other models which has launched in the last couple of months, such as the controversial Ford Capri & also the popular MG HS! The Smart #5 is the main story & a car I think could do very well or the brand, I love the boxy design and styling elements, so this is a car I’m excited to see.

The last few weeks has been a busy in the automotive world with Peugeot releasing the new E-5008, Audi with the Q6 e-tron, news of a possible SEAT revival! I got to speak with Jeremy Thomson and Laura Brailey from Mazda UK about their range and what we can expect from the brand in the future, as well as how they plan on keeping the internal combustion engine alive and will continue to offer a wide range of vehicles.
