Perception, Intention, and Knowing When to Detach03 sept. 202600:44:12

This sesh starts with dispensaries, sticky flower, budtenders, and our plans for Cannabis School........and somehow ends with us examining our emotional baggage. You know, the usual.

We talk about why cannabis is better as a shared experience, the difference between reacting and responding, and what happens when your intentions collide with somebody else’s perception. Sometimes the person in front of you isn’t the enemy. Sometimes you need to back the fuck up, look at the whole situation, and get curious about what is actually happening.

We also get into:

  • The good, bad, and frustrating parts of Utah dispensaries
  • Why knowledgeable budtenders make such a difference
  • Supporting more strain and product reviews through Patreon
  • The upcoming Cannabis School courses and student experience
  • Our completely necessary “Brandon the Medicine Man” game
  • Cannabis as a tool for slowing down and becoming more present
  • Mental-health medication, side effects, and our personal experiences
  • Sleep, food, routines, therapy, and building better habits
  • Using “detach” as a safe word when an argument gets heated
  • The gap between perception and intention
  • Looking at yourself objectively without turning reflection into shame
  • Carrying old trauma into new relationships
  • Neil Strauss, The Truth, and the three-second rule
  • Why curiosity can teach you more than judgment ever will

The big takeaway: you are the common factor everywhere you go. When something triggers a reaction, pause before deciding who is right or wrong. Step outside yourself, look at the situation from a wider perspective, and ask why you responded that way. You may not like every answer—but at least now you can do something with it.

Thank you to everyone supporting Cannabis School on Patreon. Your support helps us purchase new strains, test products, improve the show, and keep having conversations like this one.

Blue Lobster Strain Review: Our Favorite Hybrid of 2026?01 sept. 202600:23:56

Welcome back to Cannabis School! Today, Brandon and Jesse review Blue Lobster by Grassroots, an indica-leaning hybrid currently swimming around Utah’s medical cannabis market.

A member of the Cannabis School community helped make this review possible, so thank you for supporting the show and giving us another strain to break down!

Blue Lobster crosses Apples and Bananas with Eye Candy. The batch reviewed comes in around 23% THC, along with minor cannabinoids including CBGA, CBCA, THCV, and CBDA. Once again, it proves that THC percentage is only one small piece of the experience.

The container may feel cheap, but the flower inside tells a different story. These popcorn buds are small, dense, squishy, and surprisingly fresh. The aroma and flavor bring sweet fruit, citrus, earth, musk, and a little gas without becoming overly sharp or peppery.

The experience is where Blue Lobster really earns its claws.

This strain feels calm, euphoric, social, and incredibly present. It quiets the unnecessary noise without completely shutting down the mind. Instead of sending thoughts in every direction, Blue Lobster makes it easier to stay immersed in the conversation or activity directly in front of you.

Physically, the body feels relaxed without becoming useless. Both hosts report a major reduction in their usual discomfort during the session, along with very little fidgeting. It may become sleepier with a larger amount, but at a moderate dose it feels surprisingly versatile.

Morning, afternoon, conversation, gaming, relaxing, or winding down—this may be an anytime strain for the right consumer. Just remember: the more you consume, the more likely you are to catch what the guys lovingly call “the happy dumbs.”

The commonly reported terpene profile includes myrcene, limonene, beta-caryophyllene, and linalool. In this batch, the earthy relaxation and citrus brightness work together beautifully. It settles the body without making the entire room feel dark.

The final verdict? Blue Lobster is Brandon’s favorite hybrid of 2026 so far. Grassroots has not always been the first brand the guys reach for, but this strain was a genuine surprise—and proof that a discounted bag of popcorn flower can deliver a better experience than products chasing the highest THC number.

In this episode:

• Reviewing Grassroots Blue Lobster in Utah
• Apples and Bananas × Eye Candy genetics
• Dense popcorn buds and questionable packaging
• THC versus the complete cannabinoid profile
• Myrcene, limonene, caryophyllene, and linalool
• Sweet fruit, citrus, earth, and light gas
• Calm, euphoric, social, and focused effects
• Physical relaxation without immediate couchlock
• Why higher THC does not guarantee a better experience
• Finding quality cannabis on sale
• Utah’s broader cannabinoid profiles
• Water filters, missing disc-golf equipment, and other detours
• A free Cannabis School strain-labeling tool

Land of the Terps: What Is Nerolidol?27 août 202600:29:02

Welcome to the Land of the Terps! Cannabis School 101 is officially back, and this time Brandon and Jesse are going deeper than the usual THC percentage and strain name.

Today’s lesson focuses on nerolidol, a minor terpene found in cannabis and aromatic plants such as jasmine, lemongrass, tea tree, ginger, and orange blossom. It is not usually one of the largest numbers on a cannabis label, but that does not mean it should be ignored.

Nerolidol has a subtle aroma commonly described as woody, floral, green, earthy, and slightly sweet—almost like fresh bark. It exists in cis and trans forms and belongs to a class of compounds called sesquiterpenes.

Why do plants produce terpenes in the first place? They were not created for humans to enjoy. Terpenes help plants communicate, defend themselves, discourage certain insects, attract beneficial organisms, and interact with the environment around them.

The guys use an entourage analogy to explain why isolated compounds cannot always predict a complete cannabis experience. One person can accomplish something alone, but the right team working together may create something entirely different. Cannabis is similar: cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, dose, and personal biology all contribute to the final experience.

Research has investigated nerolidol for insect-related plant defense, skin penetration, and possible calming or sedating properties. That does not make it a proven treatment, but it does make this minor terpene worth watching as cannabis research develops.

Brandon and Jesse explore nerolidol while vaporizing Blue Lobster, a strain in which it may appear alongside more familiar terpenes such as myrcene, limonene, beta-caryophyllene, and linalool. Blue Lobster’s calm, relaxed experience gives the guys a real-world starting point for discussing how a minor terpene may fit into a much larger chemical profile.

The conversation also covers vaporizer temperatures, cannabis aroma, topical products, fast-acting edibles, dosing mistakes, CBD and CBG flower, and why beginners should never assume a product is mild based only on its size.

The homework is simple: stop shopping by THC percentage alone. Ask for the certificate of analysis, examine more than the top three terpenes, and begin noticing which combinations consistently work well for you.

In this episode:

• What terpenes do inside plants
• What nerolidol is and how to pronounce it
• Cis-nerolidol versus trans-nerolidol
• Woody, floral, earthy, and fresh-bark aromas
• Nerolidol in jasmine, ginger, tea tree, and citrus
• Plant defense and chemical signaling
• Monoterpenes versus sesquiterpenes
• The cannabis entourage-effect theory
• Why minor terpenes still matter
• Blue Lobster and its terpene profile
• Research into skin penetration and topical formulations
• Vaporizer temperature and aroma
• Fast-acting versus traditional edibles
• Why accurate edible dosing matters
• CBD and CBG flower for lower-tolerance consumers
• Reading a cannabis certificate of analysis

Cheeee of Bandits Strain Review: Sweet, Spicy & Seriously Weird25 août 202600:31:11

Welcome back to Cannabis School! Today, Brandon and Jesse review Cheee of Bandits by Pure Plan, a mysterious Utah cannabis strain with an unusual name and an experience that is even harder to explain.

Despite what the name suggests, this flower does not arrive with an overwhelming cheese aroma. Instead, it produces a surprisingly sweet smell that becomes even more impressive as the vaporizer begins warming. The first taste reminds the guys of stevia: undeniably sweet, slightly strange, and difficult to place.

The flower reviewed contains roughly 20% THC, along with minor cannabinoids including CBC and CBG. Its labeled terpene profile includes beta-caryophyllene, limonene, linalool, myrcene, and humulene. Together, they create a sweet, peppery flavor that eventually develops a gentle “sweet heat” across the tongue and throat.

The initial experience is bright, floaty, giggly, and physically relaxing. Colors seem more vibrant, the arms feel lighter, and Brandon notices that his sore shoulder is no longer demanding as much attention.

As the session continues, however, Cheee of Bandits becomes more complicated. The bright beginning transitions into a strongly head-focused experience, with warmth and pressure around the top of the head. Brandon and Jesse also notice tension around the neck and jaw. It remains entertaining and silly, but neither host can identify a clear activity or purpose for it.

Would it be good for watching a ridiculous movie and making your own commentary? Absolutely.

Would we choose it for work, exercise, or focused creativity? Probably not.

The guys experiment by adding GMO Cookies, hoping its relaxed euphoria will balance the experience. Unfortunately, the combination creates more jaw tension and proves that even two enjoyable strains can make a questionable team.

The final verdict? Cheee of Bandits is not necessarily bad—it is just weird. Its aroma is incredible, the sweet-and-spicy flavor is memorable, and the opening effects are genuinely fun. The later head pressure makes it harder to recommend as an everyday strain, but curious sativa fans may enjoy trying something that does not feel like everything else on the shelf.

Buying it on sale makes sense. Mixing it with GMO did not.

In this episode:

• Reviewing Cheee of Bandits by Pure Plan
• A mysterious Utah cannabis strain
• Approximately 20% THC with CBC and CBG
• Caryophyllene, limonene, linalool, myrcene, and humulene
• A sweet aroma that resembles stevia
• Peppery flavor and gentle sweet heat
• Bright, floaty, and giggly opening effects
• Head pressure, neck sensations, and jaw tension
• Using low heat to explore cannabis aroma
• Why it may work for movies and social laughter
• Mixing Cheee of Bandits with GMO Cookies
• Why some cannabis combinations do not work
• The need for better strain information in Utah
• Pure Plan, Dragonfly, Betty, and Brand Zero

The $88 mistake20 août 202600:32:07

Welcome back to Cannabis School! This week’s Sesh begins with a simple idea that opens the door to a much bigger conversation: people are people, and life may be better when we stop treating every issue like a team sport.

Brandon and Jesse explore the labels we place on ourselves and others. A label may help explain part of your experience, but it can also become a box—a reason to believe you cannot grow beyond certain limits. The guys discuss ADHD, identity, self-awareness, and the difference between understanding yourself and using a diagnosis as an excuse.

That leads into storytelling, audiobooks, and why reading with emotion can transform words on a page into something alive. Naturally, the conversation takes a quick trip through Dune, video games, and questionable websites before landing on the evening’s most expensive lesson.

After consuming cannabis, one of the guys gets pulled into a shopping app designed to turn purchasing into a game. A few confusing taps later, an unexpected $88 charge appears. The order gets canceled, but the mistake creates something more valuable: an opportunity for calm, honest communication between partners.

Instead of becoming defensive, they slow down, clarify what happened, and make room for frustration without turning it into a fight. Sometimes “I’m fine” does not mean everything is fine—and asking one more thoughtful question can change the entire conversation.

From there, the Sesh moves into how other people experience us, releasing old resentment, expressing emotion through art, and learning to observe our behavior before reacting. The guys also examine modern consumerism, smartphones, digital addiction, impulse purchases, and the strange tradeoffs that come with having nearly everything available through one screen.

Of course, no Sesh stays completely serious. Expect detours into Nokia brick phones, sending 46,000 text messages in one month, Nintendo, PlayStation, GameStop, motorcycle helmets, Dune: Awakening, and the usual Cannabis School nonsense.

This episode is about becoming more present: with your money, your relationships, your technology, and yourself.

In this episode:

• People, politics, and the problem with picking teams
• When personal labels become limiting beliefs
• ADHD, identity, and self-awareness
• Reading with emotion and telling better stories
• Cannabis and an accidental online purchase
• Communicating without becoming defensive
• Why “I’m fine” may deserve another question
• How other people experience us
• Releasing old resentment and changing your perspective
• Creativity as an expression of emotion
• Smartphones, consumerism, and digital addiction
• Buying games versus actually playing them
• Nintendo, PlayStation, and GameStop
• Being more intentional with money and technology

GMO Cookies Strain Review: Garlic, Gas & a Perfectly Chill High18 août 202600:28:36

Welcome back to Cannabis School! Today, Brandon and Jesse revisit one of their longtime favorites: GMO Cookies, also known as GMO or Garlic Cookies.

Created from Girl Scout Cookies and Chemdog genetics, GMO has become a building block for countless modern cannabis crosses. There is a reason it keeps returning to the rotation: the flavor is unmistakable, the experience is reliable, and even after trying hundreds of products, it still holds a place among the guys’ favorite strains.

GMO delivers one of those flavor profiles that sounds terrible on paper but somehow works beautifully in cannabis. Expect garlic, diesel, onion, earth, pepper, skunk, and something slightly fermented. It is dark, savory, and funky without leaving you feeling like you ate an entire clove of garlic.

The experience begins with a pleasant, head-forward brightness before the relaxing side starts moving in. It feels euphoric, social, and calming without immediately shutting everything down. With larger amounts, however, GMO can become much heavier and sleepier. This is commonly a high-THC strain, so new or sensitive consumers should approach it carefully.

A small amount may be plenty. You can always consume more, but you cannot un-smoke the bowl.

Brandon and Jesse also discuss why GMO works so well in strain combinations, how layering flower and concentrates can create a more consistent experience, and why its savory flavor can enhance a meal. The commonly reported terpene profile includes beta-caryophyllene, limonene, and myrcene, although every grow and batch will be different.

The class then moves into joint rolling, flavored papers, avoiding an uneven burn, Utah flower quality, irradiated cannabis, and the difference between dry flower and poorly grown flower. Jesse also introduces his extremely potent homemade “Stargazer Honey,” leading to an important conversation about edible tolerance, careful labeling, safe storage, and knowing your personal dose.

The final verdict? GMO remains an old-school favorite with a strange flavor, a bright-but-relaxed experience, and enough potency to remind experienced consumers that a little can still go a long way.

In this episode:

• GMO Cookies genetics and history
• Garlic, diesel, onion, pepper, and earthy flavors
• Relaxing, euphoric, and social effects
• Why GMO works well in cannabis combinations
• Caryophyllene, limonene, and myrcene
• Flower, concentrates, and vape formats
• Joint-rolling techniques and flavored papers
• Avoiding canoeing and improving the burn
• Utah cannabis quality and irradiated flower
• Vaporizing versus smoking flower
• Cannabis tolerance and responsible dosing
• Stargazer infused honey and safe storage

Trauma, Tall Tales & the Deep Diver Combo13 août 202600:38:53

Welcome back to Cannabis School! This week’s Sesh begins with Brandon discovering that his mom shared the podcast with someone who recently started working in human resources for a cannabis retailer.

Apparently, Cannabis School is becoming an unexpected educational resource—which is exciting and slightly terrifying when you remember how quickly these conversations can leave the classroom.

Brandon and Jesse settle into the session with a custom cannabis combination: Novarine by Find Cannabis mixed with Black Triangle. The vapor feels dry on the throat, but the combination produces a strong, relaxing experience that the guys decide to call Deep Diver.

The conversation takes a serious turn as Brandon and Jesse discuss trauma, survival responses, personal growth, and the different ways people process difficult experiences. They talk about compassion, observation, professional therapy, and why healing does not follow a universal schedule.

From there, the discussion moves into tall tales, invented identities, military stories, and the possibility that some people create elaborate versions of themselves to protect—or escape—the person underneath.

Once the Deep Diver combination fully arrives, the Sesh becomes considerably less focused. The guys revisit Robin Williams’ unpredictable comedy, discuss common misconceptions about stimulant drugs, and share cautionary stories about past substance use and poor decisions.

Jesse recalls an early-2000s experience involving friends, an old manual Honda Civic, one enormous mistake, and a very close encounter with a fire hydrant. It is a funny story in hindsight, but also a clear example of how quickly impaired decisions can become dangerous.

This is a classic Cannabis School Sesh: thoughtful, personal, funny, occasionally uncomfortable, and intended for mature audiences.

In this episode:

• Brandon’s mom shares Cannabis School
• Cannabis education in an unexpected workplace
• Trauma, survival responses, and healing
• EMDR and professional mental-health support
• Tall tales and invented identities
• Mixing Novarine with Black Triangle
• The Deep Diver cannabis combination

Novarine Strain Review11 août 202600:17:08

Welcome back to Cannabis School! Today, Brandon and Jesse review Novarine by Find Cannabis, a sativa-dominant flower available in Utah’s medical cannabis market.

Novarine crosses Caprichosa Thai with a THCV-rich Thai landrace, giving it old-school genetics and an experience far removed from the sweet dessert strains filling dispensary shelves.

The aroma is one of the strangest we’ve encountered. Think funky feet, Indian spices, flowers, earth, and a little sweetness hiding underneath everything else. The vapor starts sharp and floral, while the buds have orange pistils, visible trichomes, and a clean—but fairly dry—appearance.

The Find Cannabis batch reviewed in this episode was labeled at approximately 26.76% THC and included several minor cannabinoids. That higher potency is another reminder to read the package in front of you: cannabinoid levels can vary considerably between growers and batches, even when the strain name stays the same.

Novarine comes on fast. At first, we experienced a bright headspace, increased alertness, restless energy, and pressure around the temples, jaw, and neck. It stopped just short of feeling anxious and never caused a noticeably racing heart. As the session continued, that physical tension faded and the experience became calmer, slower, and surprisingly relaxing.

Is Novarine good for daytime use? It could be—especially for experienced consumers who want energetic effects for chores, movement, exercise, or another physical activity. We were less convinced about using it for complicated mental work because the early restlessness needed somewhere to go.

At roughly $44 for an eighth, Novarine was not a bargain, but it was not outrageous for Utah either. The dry flower and uncomfortable opening kept it from becoming an everyday favorite, but its funky profile and dramatic shift from energy to relaxation made it memorable.

Would we hunt it down every time? Probably not.

Would we be mad if it randomly landed in the stash again? Not at all.

In this episode:

• Novarine’s Caprichosa Thai and Thai landrace genetics
• THC, THCV, minor cannabinoids, and batch variation
• Funky, spicy, floral, and earthy aromas
• Vaporizing Novarine versus smoking it
• Its fast sativa onset and calmer finish
• Temple pressure, jaw tension, and restless energy
• Terpenes, flower quality, dryness, and trimming
• Old-school genetics versus modern dessert strains
• Whether Novarine is worth buying in Utah
• Def Leppard, Corvettes, and the usual Cannabis School detours

Chapters:

02:04 THC and minor cannabinoids

See you Tuesday

Sweet Berry Lemonade04 août 202600:26:03

Welcome to class! Today, Brandon and Jesse head back to the cannabis kitchen to create a custom combo they’re calling Sweet Berry Lemonade.

The recipe starts with two very different flowers: the dark, funky, berry-forward Halle Berry by Betty and the bright, citrusy Super Lemon G from Dragonfly Brand Zero. After experimenting with the proportions, the guys land on a 50/50 blend that delivers the best of both worlds: an alert mind, a relaxed body, easy conversation, and plenty of flavor.

Along the way, they explore how each flower contributes to the experience, why cannabinoid and terpene profiles can matter more than THC percentage alone, and how changing a blend’s ratio can completely change its effects. The conversation also wanders through mindful consumption, vaporizing versus smoking joints, gaming, creativity, and why the right cannabis combo can make a social activity even more enjoyable.

The final verdict? Half Halle Berry and half Super Lemon G produced a sweet, citrusy, berry-lemonade flavor with an elevated mood, gentle physical relaxation, creative energy, and a clear enough head to enjoy the moment.

Have you created a cannabis combo that surprised you—or one nobody else should ever try? Tell us what you mixed and how it turned out.

Are You Trying to Be Right?30 juil. 202600:28:51

This Sesh starts with an idea for building better connections and ends up going somewhere much deeper: ego, self-awareness, faith, service, judgment, and the difference between talking about love and actually living it.

We get into why people prejudge each other, how those snap judgments create friction, and what happens when you stop trying to win every interaction. Sometimes growth is simply catching yourself before you respond and asking, “Am I helping right now, or am I just trying to be right?”

We also talk about creating spaces where people can connect without all the usual labels, how cannabis helped teach us patience, why self-awareness isn’t about “fixing” who you are, and what it looks like to put your beliefs into practice through honesty, kindness, and service.

Because being right doesn’t mean much if you lose the person in front of you.

Bruised Egos & Cowboy Engineering23 juil. 202600:37:37

What do tipping over a motorcycle, childhood fistfights, martial arts, negative comments, social media algorithms, and industrial-strength zip ties have in common?

Honestly, more than they probably should.

This week, we start with a bruised ego after a motorcycle goes down twice before the ride even really begins. That turns into a conversation about the ridiculous standards we hold ourselves to, the old scripts telling us we’re not good enough, and why mastery doesn’t mean you’ll never fuck up.

From there, we get into growing up around violence, being bullied, learning to fight, and the difference between being capable of violence and constantly looking for it. We talk about muscle memory, pressure testing, protecting the people you love, and how real mastery can eventually teach you to avoid the fight altogether.

We also get into why random people on the internet don’t deserve your energy, how to train your social media algorithm instead of letting it train you, and why sometimes the healthiest response is simply, “This probably isn’t the show for you.”

Then, naturally, we finish with motorcycles, broken car parts, cowboy engineering, questionable safety inspections, and a heartfelt appreciation for one of humanity’s greatest inventions: the zip tie.

Catch you Tuesday.

Black Triangle21 juil. 202600:28:53

Black Triangle: A Smooth, Old-School Indica Hybrid

Welcome back, kids! This week, we’re finally giving Black Triangle the full Cannabis School treatment.

Black Triangle crosses Triangle Kush with ’88 G13 Hashplant, creating an indica-dominant hybrid known for its mellow, relaxing experience. The Brand Zero flower we tried came in at 17.6% THC—considerably lower than the 25–30% sometimes associated with this strain—but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

We discuss the flower’s trim, sugar leaves, value, and surprisingly smooth smoke. Its mild earthy flavor, subtle sweetness, and lack of harshness make it an approachable option for newer consumers or anyone who doesn’t want an overwhelmingly heavy high. The experience felt grounded and relaxing, with gentle pressure behind the eyes and noticeable body relaxation.

In this episode, we also get into:

  • Black Triangle’s genetics, cannabinoids, and terpene profile
  • Myrcene, linalool, limonene, beta-caryophyllene, and humulene
  • Why THC percentage doesn’t tell the entire story
  • Mixing strains to create different effects and flavor combinations
  • Sugar leaves and how trimming can affect the smoke
  • Flower versus vape pens, edibles, concentrates, and vaporizers
  • Why beginners should always start low and go slow
  • Joint rolling, gravity bongs, and future Cannabis School experiments
  • Whether budget flower can still deliver a worthwhile experience

Overall, Black Triangle offered a mild, smooth, and pleasantly relaxing session. It may not knock experienced consumers into the couch, but it could be a solid choice for beginners, lower-dose consumers, or anyone looking for affordable flower to enjoy on its own or mix with another strain.

Have you tried Black Triangle or anything from Brand Zero? Let us know what you thought!

Phantom Cookies: A Spicy, Happy High That Still Lets You Get Sh*t Done14 juil. 202600:17:36

What do you get when Granddaddy Purple and Cherry Pie have a mysterious little love child? Phantom Cookies—a sativa-dominant hybrid that brings a clear, calm, and functional high without launching you into another dimension.

In this episode, we break out the Volcano and put Phantom Cookies to the test. Right away, this strain hits us with a surprisingly spicy flavor—think black pepper, clove, and even a hint of cinnamon—followed by sweet, citrusy, earthy, and musky notes. We talk about its reported 15–20% THC range, its cannabinoid profile, and terpenes commonly associated with the strain, including caryophyllene, limonene, and myrcene.

The effects? Happy, relaxed, aware, and still ready to function. This feels like a solid wake-and-bake strain for anyone who wants to mow the lawn, work out, read, watch *Ancient Aliens*, or just touch some grass before touching some grass. We also discuss reports of Phantom Cookies being used for anxiety, pain, inflammation, fatigue, depression, arthritis, and ADHD/ADD symptoms—plus why the strain’s easygoing effects may make it approachable for newer cannabis consumers.

Naturally, we also wander into drive-through margaritas, aggressively boozy coffee, black vodka, questionable medical-device marketing, homemade edibles, and the urgent need to bring cannabis suckers back into our lives.

## In This Episode

- Phantom Cookies genetics: Granddaddy Purple × Cherry Pie

- Why this strain tastes spicy, peppery, and almost like cinnamon

- Sweet, citrus, earthy, herbal, and musky notes

- A clear, calm, functional high without overwhelming euphoria

- Why it may be a great wake-and-bake or daytime strain

- Reported experiences involving anxiety, focus, pain, and inflammation

- THC, CBD, and the importance of looking beyond THC percentage

- Caryophyllene, limonene, myrcene, pinene, and linalool

- Mild cottonmouth, no major munchies, and a happy overall ride

- Drive-through booze, weird vodka, homemade gummies, and cannabis suckers

Have you tried Phantom Cookies? Tell us what it tasted like, how it made you feel, and whether you can find it in your area.

The best ideas come from letting go09 juil. 202600:36:01

This week’s Sesh starts with business lessons that usually only come after failing a few times. We talk about why trying to do everything yourself eventually becomes the bottleneck, and how the right partnerships let people focus on what they actually do best.

From there, the conversation takes its usual detour through movies, gaming, construction, motorcycles, camping, cannabis, and a surprising amount of joint rolling technique.

Along the way we dive into:

  • Why delegation is one of the hardest skills to learn
  • The difference between creators and operators
  • Building systems instead of carrying everything yourself
  • The psychology behind changing your own behavior instead of trying to change everyone else
  • How camping became an unexpected reset for mental health
  • Why Margin Call might be one of the best business movies you’ve never watched
  • Revisiting Troy with a completely different perspective
  • Whether technology is advancing as fast as it could
  • The evolution of modern video games and endless updates
  • Motorcycle trip planning and adventure prep
  • Our latest Gran Turismo obsession and favorite rally cars
  • Joint rolling tips, resin tricks, and why we’ve become daily joint smokers

Sometimes the best conversations don’t have a script. They just wander wherever curiosity takes them, and somehow still circle back to becoming a better human.

  • RAW rolling papers
  • Gran Turismo 7
  • Peugeot Rally Car
  • Ford Mustang Rally Car
  • Margin Call
  • Troy

Candy Fumez | Sweet Candy, Bright Vibes & A Surprisingly Chill Hybrid07 juil. 202600:36:55

Candy strains can be hit or miss. Some lean all-in on flavor but leave the effects feeling flat. Others bring the gas but lose the sweetness.

Candy Fumez manages to walk the middle.

This week we’re checking out Candy Fumez from Find by Tryke, a hybrid bred from Zkittlez × Sherbanger. It brings together candy-forward terpenes with a little fuel, citrus, and earthy funk to create a strain that feels more playful than overwhelming.  (Breakwater Dispensary)

For us, this wasn’t a couch-lock strain or one that demanded productivity. It landed somewhere in the sweet spot between the two. Think video games, movies, hanging out with friends, or spending time outside without feeling glued to the couch.

One thing we both noticed was how light the experience felt. It was mentally uplifting without becoming racy, while the body stayed relaxed without feeling heavy. Your experience may vary depending on your tolerance and the specific batch you have.

Zkittlez × Sherbanger (Breakwater Dispensary)

  • Limonene
  • β-Caryophyllene
  • Linalool

These terpenes are commonly associated with bright citrus aromas, peppery spice, floral notes, and relaxing tendencies, although individual effects vary from person to person. (Groove Solventless)

  • Sweet candy
  • Citrus
  • Tropical fruit
  • Berry
  • Light diesel
  • Creamy sherbet finish

The aroma promised a lot of sweetness, but once we started smoking, we noticed something neither of us expected. It reminded us more of a smooth, hoppy beer than an overly sugary candy strain. As the session went on, more citrus and sweet notes started coming through.

For us, Candy Fumez felt:

  • Uplifting without being overly stimulating
  • Relaxed but still functional
  • Great for gaming
  • Easy to socialize on
  • More head-focused than body-heavy
  • Silly, lighthearted, and conversation-friendly

One funny observation was what Brandon started calling a “squirrel strain.” Ideas would come quickly, but every once in a while we’d completely lose our train of thought before jumping into the next topic. If you’ve ever had one of those classic cannabis moments where you stop mid-sentence wondering what you were saying, you’ll probably understand exactly what we mean.

  • Gaming
  • Watching movies
  • Hanging out with friends
  • Relaxing after work
  • Casual hikes
  • Creative conversations

Pros

  • Pleasant, upbeat mood
  • Functional hybrid
  • Easygoing effects
  • Nice flavor evolution throughout the session
  • Good introduction for newer consumers when dosed conservatively

Cons

  • Flower was drier than expected
  • Cottonmouth showed up later in the session
  • Effects didn’t last as long for Brandon compared to heavier hybrids
  • Joint felt stronger than vaporizing, while vaporizing provided a slower, longer-lasting experience for us

Candy Fumez isn’t trying to knock you into the couch.

It’s the kind of strain you reach for when you still want to enjoy whatever you’re doing. Whether that’s firing up your favorite game, getting outside, or spending the evening laughing with friends, this one stayed surprisingly balanced from start to finish.

If you’re in Utah and see Find by Tryke’s Candy Fumez, we’d say it’s worth checking out, especially if you’re looking for a flavorful hybrid that leans toward a brighter, happier experience without feeling overwhelming.

Have you tried Candy Fumez? We’d love to hear how your experience compared to ours.

What You Notice Changes Everything | The Sesh02 juil. 202601:07:06

Most of us spend our lives trying to fix ourselves.

But what if the first step isn’t fixing anything at all?

This week, Brandon shares a project he’s been quietly building that started with one simple idea: patterns matter more than labels. Instead of putting people into personality boxes, what if we paid attention to the behaviors, reactions, and habits that quietly shape our relationships every day?

That conversation turns into something much bigger.

We dive into why we feel the need to be right, how awareness changes communication, why arguments usually have nothing to do with winning, and how simply noticing your own patterns can completely change the way you interact with the people you care about.

Along the way we also get into dating, parenting, martial arts, motorcycles, modern technology, emotional triggers, and why sometimes the biggest breakthrough comes from asking yourself one uncomfortable question:

“Am I trying to understand… or am I just trying to be right?”

If you’ve ever wanted to communicate better, understand yourself a little more clearly, or simply become more intentional with the people around you, this is a conversation worth sitting with.

  • Why awareness is more powerful than self-judgment
  • The difference between patterns and personality labels
  • Why trying to be “right” usually costs more than it gives back
  • How emotional states influence communication
  • The hidden value of observing instead of reacting
  • Lessons from dating events, parenting, and everyday conversations
  • Why noticing small behaviors can create massive personal growth
  • How changing what you pay attention to changes your entire experience

Sometimes the biggest changes don’t come from becoming someone new.

Sometimes they come from finally seeing what was there all along.

Have a question or topic you’d love us to cover?

Send it our way. We love building these conversations around the questions you’re actually asking.

If you’re enjoying Cannabis School, follow the show, leave us a review, and share this episode with someone who’s always trying to figure people out… or themselves.

Blueberry Headband | Quiet the Noise, Enjoy the Moment30 juin 202600:29:16

What happens when you take two classic strains and end up with something that doesn’t demand your attention, but gently pulls you into the present?

This week we’re talking about Blueberry Headband, a strain that surprised us in all the right ways. We expected more of that classic “headband” pressure, but what we found was something much calmer. This one slowly quieted the mental chatter, softened the edges of the day, and made it incredibly easy to simply exist for a while.

If your brain feels like it’s running twenty tabs at once, this episode might hit home.

  • Our honest first impressions of Blueberry Headband
  • The unique tea-like flavor with subtle berry notes
  • Why the effects felt more calming than mentally stimulating
  • How this strain helped quiet racing thoughts without knocking us out
  • When we’d actually choose this strain over others
  • Why slowing down can sometimes create more creativity than speeding up

Genetics: Blueberry × Headband

THC: 23.82%

Top Terpenes:

  • Terpinolene
  • Pinene

For us, Blueberry Headband started with a gentle pressure around the face before slowly moving into the head. Instead of delivering an intense cerebral experience, it created a calm, steady feeling that made everything feel… quieter.

Not sleepy.

Not couch locked.

Just peaceful.

This isn’t the strain we’d grab to brainstorm a business plan or dive into a complicated project. It’s the one we’d reach for after a long day when we want the constant mental noise to finally settle down.

Think herbal tea with a light berry finish.

The flavor stayed surprisingly consistent throughout the entire session, with earthy, slightly sweet notes and just enough blueberry to remind you where the genetics came from.

  • Evening wind-down
  • Campfires
  • Hiking
  • Longboard or scenic drives
  • Listening to music
  • Guided meditation
  • Sitting outside and doing absolutely nothing

Sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

Blueberry Headband isn’t trying to be the loudest strain in the room.

It’s the one that reminds you to slow down.

If you’ve been craving a strain that helps quiet the mental chaos without completely shutting you down, this one is absolutely worth checking out.

Connection Crisis25 juin 202600:34:34

This week starts with a joint, a conversation about why joints canoe, and somehow ends up exploring modern dating, loneliness, friendship, community, and why so many people feel disconnected despite being more connected than ever.

We talk about the kind of cannabis events we’d actually want to attend, why sharing a joint creates a different kind of social experience, and how cannabis seems to naturally bring people together in ways alcohol often doesn’t.

Along the way we get into dating culture, texting versus phone calls, voice memos, building meaningful connections, and Brandon’s growing passion project around helping people find community instead of just another app or service.

It’s one of those episodes where the strain is great, but the conversation is the real reason you stayed.

  • Why LA Pop Rocks keeps becoming a favorite daytime smoke
  • The trick to preventing joints from canoeing
  • Cannabis date nights and infused dinner ideas
  • Why sharing cannabis feels different than sharing alcohol
  • Creating spaces where people can actually connect
  • Nerd nights, D&D, gaming, cosplay, and finding your people
  • Aziz Ansari’s Modern Romance and what dating has become
  • Why younger generations hate phone calls
  • The rise of voice memos and why we love them
  • Building tools instead of creating dependency
  • Loneliness, community, and what we’ve lost socially
  • Gym motivation, aging, testosterone, and staying healthy
  • Corvette slander (sorry, not sorry)

People aren’t necessarily lacking options.

They’re lacking connection.

We’ve built a world where you can instantly talk to anyone, anywhere, anytime. Yet a lot of people still feel isolated, unseen, and disconnected. The answer probably isn’t another app. It might just be more real conversations, more shared experiences, and more reasons to sit across from another human being and actually get to know them.

A good joint is great.

A good conversation is better.

And when you can get both at the same time, that’s where the magic tends to happen.

LA Pop Rocks23 juin 202600:20:03

What happens when a strain smells like a bag of candy, smokes smooth over a year after packaging, and somehow leaves a minty little surprise on the finish?

This week we’re breaking down LA Pop Rocks, a flavorful indica-leaning strain that caught us off guard with its balance. It delivers sweet fruit-forward aromas, a surprisingly smooth smoke, and effects that feel social, relaxing, and uplifting without immediately gluing you to the couch.

We dig into the genetics, terpene profile, flavor notes, and why this one became an easy recommendation for daytime or evening use if you’re looking for relaxation without feeling completely checked out. We also wander into road trip philosophy, dating events, Mario Kart drinking games, and the strange ways cannabis tends to make conversations go places you never expected.

  • Breaking down LA Pop Rocks and our first impressions
  • Sweet candy, fruit, cheese, and mint flavor notes
  • Why this flower stayed sticky and fresh long after packaging
  • Genetics: Triangle Kush Bx2 × Z Animal
  • Terpenes: Beta-Caryophyllene, Limonene, and Humulene
  • Effects: Euphoric, uplifting, social, and relaxing
  • Why Brandon keeps reaching for heavier indicas lately
  • Cannabis vs alcohol in social settings
  • Road trips as the ultimate compatibility test
  • The dating event idea we’d actually like to see happen

Strain: LA Pop Rocks

Genetics: Triangle Kush Bx2 × Z Animal

Dominant Terpenes:

  • Beta-Caryophyllene
  • Limonene
  • Humulene

Reported Effects:

  • Euphoria
  • Relaxation
  • Increased sociability
  • Uplifted mood
  • Minimal couch lock

Flavor Notes:

  • Sweet candy
  • Fruity
  • Light cheese funk
  • Minty finish

LA Pop Rocks is a good reminder that “indica” doesn’t always mean sleepy. This one delivered calm, conversation, and relaxation while still leaving plenty of room to function and stay engaged. Your experience may vary, but for us it landed squarely in that sweet spot between chill and productive.

The Sesh: Stories, Beliefs, Politics & Why People See the Same Thing Differently19 juin 202600:27:33

This week’s Sesh starts with a simple idea: stories shape everything.

The way we see the world, the people we trust, the beliefs we hold, and even the things we’re willing to fight over usually come down to the stories we’ve accepted as true. Sometimes those stories help us make sense of reality. Sometimes they become the thing that keeps us from seeing it clearly.

From there, we wander through government distrust, politics, religion, media narratives, community, forgiveness, personal responsibility, and the challenge of trying to understand people who see the world completely differently than we do.

We talk about why people can look at the exact same event and walk away with completely different conclusions. We explore how identity influences belief, how perception shapes reality, and why it’s becoming harder for people to have conversations without immediately dividing themselves into teams.

Along the way we get into Christianity, Mormonism, race, forgiveness, political tribalism, human behavior, and the idea that every person is carrying their own version of reality based on the experiences that shaped them.

As usual, we don’t solve any of the world’s problems.

But we definitely spend some time poking at them. 😆

  • Why stories are one of the most powerful forces in human history
  • Government trust, skepticism, and declassified information
  • Pattern recognition and understanding people
  • Political tribalism and identity
  • The difference between facts, perception, and belief
  • Property rights, protest, and personal responsibility
  • Race, media narratives, and public perception
  • Forgiveness and why it’s often more about healing yourself
  • Christianity, Mormonism, and religious identity
  • Why no two people experience the same belief system exactly the same way
  • Community versus division
  • The challenge of understanding perspectives that aren’t your own

Most people aren’t reacting to reality.

They’re reacting to the story they believe about reality.

The more we understand the stories people carry, the easier it becomes to understand why they see the world the way they do. That doesn’t mean we have to agree. It just means we might stop assuming everyone who disagrees with us is the enemy.

Root Beer GMO16 juin 202600:21:13

Some strains disappear before you’re supposed to record the episode.

Root Beer GMO was one of those strains. 😆

Jesse brought home a bag for the show, and somewhere between “I’ll save some for the episode” and “Where did it all go?” there was basically nothing left except the nug we managed to hang onto for recording. That’s usually a pretty good sign.

In this episode, we break down one of our favorite GMO crosses we’ve had in Utah and talk about why Root Beer GMO quickly became a repeat purchase.

  • Why Root Beer GMO disappeared faster than expected
  • The genetics behind this unique cross
  • How GMO continues to be one of our favorite flavor foundations
  • The surprisingly noticeable root beer notes hidden in the profile
  • Why this strain shines in social settings
  • Chatty strains versus distracting strains
  • The terpene profile driving the experience
  • How different consumption methods affect the overall experience
  • Why some strains become automatic re-buys
  • Utah flower quality and what Dragonfly continues to do well

Strain: Root Beer GMO

Genetics: Root Beer × GMO

Grower: Dragonfly Wellness (Betty)

Dominant Terpenes:

  • β-Caryophyllene
  • Humulene
  • Limonene

This isn’t one of those strains that punches you in the face with root beer from the first hit.

The root beer notes show up more on the finish.

The initial inhale brings the familiar funky, savory GMO character, but the longer you sit with it, the more those subtle root beer notes start creeping in through the aftertaste. It’s one of those strains where you keep going back for another hit because you’re trying to figure out exactly what you’re tasting.

The word that kept coming up throughout this episode was chatty.

Not distracted.

Not scattered.

Not bouncing off the walls.

Chatty.

Root Beer GMO felt like one of those strains that naturally keeps conversations flowing. Every topic led to another topic, then another story, then another rabbit hole. Before long, the episode turned into exactly the kind of conversation this strain seems built for.

It’s social, uplifting, and happy without feeling overly energetic.

That said, if you keep pushing it, the haze starts creeping in. The more we consumed, the more that classic “where was I going with this?” cloud started showing up.

Not every great strain needs to knock you into the couch.

Sometimes the best cannabis experiences are the ones that keep the conversation going, make you laugh a little harder, and leave you wondering where the last two hours went.

That’s Root Beer GMO.

This is one of those strains we’d happily keep around for game nights, hanging out with friends, creative conversations, and those evenings where the goal isn’t necessarily getting blasted.

The Most Unhinged Conversation We’ve Had All Year11 juin 202601:11:26

Some episodes are educational. Some are deep dives.

And then there are episodes like this one where you sit down with a good friend, pass a bowl around, and let the conversation go wherever it wants.

This week we’re joined by our buddy Preston Argyle for one of the most random, hilarious, and unexpectedly thoughtful conversations we’ve had in a while.

We talk cannabis, first experiences with weed, ridiculous party stories, religion, community, personal growth, career frustrations, and somehow end up debating the logistics of having an anatomically impossible superpower. Because apparently that’s where the conversation needed to go.

What starts as a laid-back smoke session turns into one of those conversations that bounces between laughing so hard your face hurts and accidentally stumbling into something meaningful.

  • Preston’s cannabis journey and how he got started
  • The difference between alcohol culture and cannabis culture
  • Wild party stories that probably should have ended much worse than they did
  • Why cannabis became a better fit than drinking
  • Community, religion, and finding connection even when your beliefs evolve
  • The challenge of staying true to yourself while maintaining relationships
  • Work, purpose, and why so many people feel trapped by traditional employment
  • How performance and value don’t always fit neatly into hourly pay structures
  • Friendship, growth, and the people who shape our lives
  • Several conversations that went completely off the rails in the best possible way

The best conversations rarely follow a script.

Sometimes you start by talking about cannabis, take a detour through terrible life decisions, somehow land in philosophy, and come out the other side with a better understanding of yourself and the people around you. That’s pretty much this entire episode.

  • King’s Cup stories that escalated way faster than they should have
  • Why Preston’s experience with cannabis looked different from most people
  • A surprisingly honest conversation about faith, community, and belonging
  • Brandon’s thoughts on work, productivity, and being measured by outcomes instead of hours
  • More laughs than we can reasonably summarize in show notes

Keep the Mic on.

Triple Stack by Dark Heart| Strain Review09 juin 202600:29:48

Not gonna lie, this is one of those strains that surprised us.

When Jesse brought home Triple Stack from Dark Heart, neither of us had particularly high expectations. Based on past experiences, it probably wouldn’t have been the strain we reached for on the shelf. Then we cracked the jar open.

Huge buds. Soft texture. Loud aroma. Good moisture. And after spending some time with it, we realized this one deserved a closer look.

In this episode, we break down Triple Stack’s flavor, terpene profile, effects, and why it ended up becoming one of the bigger surprises we’ve had from a Utah grower lately.

  • First impressions of Dark Heart’s Triple Stack
  • Why this strain completely changed our expectations
  • The mystery behind its unreleased genetics
  • Flavor notes ranging from creamy vanilla and baked goods to funky cheese, fuel, and spice
  • Terpene profile featuring β-Caryophyllene, Myrcene, Limonene, and Linalool
  • Why slow-onset strains can sometimes create a longer-lasting experience
  • How Triple Stack delivered relaxation without heavy sedation
  • Why great budtenders are worth their weight in gold
  • The importance of shopping by terpene profile instead of THC percentage alone
  • The cannabis strains that continue to surprise us the most

Grower: Dark Heart (Utah)
Strain: Triple Stack
Type: Indica-Hybrid Leaning Balanced Hybrid
THC: Typically reported between 20-30%
Top Terpenes: β-Caryophyllene, Myrcene, Limonene, Linalool
Reported Flavor Notes: Vanilla dough, toasted nuts, berry, grape, fuel, cream, funky cheese, and spice.

Triple Stack felt less like flipping a light switch and more like slowly turning down a dimmer.

The onset was gradual. No racing thoughts. No anxiety. No heavy couch lock.

Instead, it delivered a calm, clear-headed relaxation that seemed to melt tension out of the shoulders and upper back while keeping the mind engaged and present. It felt social, creative, and surprisingly functional.

If you’ve ever wanted something that lets you appreciate a museum, wander an art gallery, play board games with friends, or simply enjoy a conversation without feeling glued to the couch, this strain might be worth exploring.

A strain doesn’t have to hit like a freight train to be effective.

Sometimes the best cannabis experiences are the ones that sneak up slowly, quiet the noise, relax the body, and let you stay fully present.

Triple Stack was a great reminder of that.

Pills, Purpose, Dating Apps & the Stories We Tell Ourselves04 juin 202601:00:58

This week’s Sesh starts in one place and somehow ends somewhere completely different, which is honestly how most great conversations go. We dive into Utah’s long history with prescription pills, share stories about pain medication, addiction, recovery, and how easily people can find themselves heading down a road they never intended to travel.

From there, the conversation shifts into chronic pain, fitness, alcohol, personal responsibility, and the frustrating reality that sometimes the best solutions come from random people who’ve lived through the same problems rather than the professionals you expected to help.

Then things take a turn into dating, relationships, identity, self-worth, and the strange expectations we place on ourselves and each other. We talk about modern dating, why genuine connection feels harder than ever, how people confuse job titles and income with value, and why many of us are still carrying stories about who we think we’re supposed to be.

Along the way we explore friendship, fatherhood, religion, community, personal growth, networking culture, leadership, and why helping other people often ends up helping ourselves just as much.

  • Utah’s long history with prescription pill abuse
  • Pain medication, addiction, and recovery stories
  • Why movement often helps chronic pain more than medication
  • The surprising similarities between dating and video games
  • How self-worth gets tangled up with money and careers
  • Dating apps, modern relationships, and connection
  • Fatherhood, purpose, and personal growth
  • Why community matters more than networking
  • Leadership, hiring, and building better workplaces
  • The stories we tell ourselves about who we are

One Thing to remember,

Most of us spend a lot of time trying to become the person we think we’re supposed to be. Sometimes the better question is whether that story was ever ours to begin with.

Ecto Cooler02 juin 202600:18:42

What happens when you cross old-school orange genetics with modern gas-heavy funk? You get Ecto Cooler, a strain that hits like a citrus soda spiked with rocket fuel. In this episode, we crack open the genetics, terpene profile, flavors, and effects behind one of the most memorable citrus-forward cultivars on dispensary shelves.

Named after the iconic ‘80s drink, Ecto Cooler has built a reputation for delivering bright, uplifting effects while keeping enough body relaxation in the mix to stay balanced. Whether you’re chasing flavor, focus, or just curious about what makes this strain stand out, we’ve got you covered.

  • The genetics behind Ecto Cooler
  • Why citrus-heavy strains continue to be fan favorites
  • The terpene profile that drives its aroma and effects
  • Commonly reported effects and who might enjoy them
  • Why the same strain can feel different from person to person
  • How Ecto Cooler compares to other citrus-forward cultivars

Type: Sativa-dominant Hybrid

Genetics: California Orange × Gorilla Biscuit

Common Aromas & Flavors:

  • Orange
  • Lemon citrus
  • Pine
  • Fuel
  • Sweet gas

Commonly Reported Effects:

  • Uplifted
  • Focused
  • Creative
  • Happy
  • Relaxed

While terpene results vary by grower and batch, Ecto Cooler is most often associated with:

  • Limonene
  • Myrcene
  • Caryophyllene
  • Pinene (in some cultivars)
  • Linalool (occasionally present in smaller amounts)

Ecto Cooler is a great example of why strain names only tell part of the story. The real experience comes from the plant’s chemistry, the terpene profile, cannabinoid content, and your own biology. One person’s productive daytime strain can be another person’s movie-and-couch strain.

That’s why at Cannabis School we always say: start low, go slow, and pay attention to how your body responds.

What Ancient Civilizations Still Don’t Explain28 mai 202601:12:41

This episode starts where all highly intellectual conversations should, ancient civilizations, hyper-advanced lost technology, underground civilizations, interdimensional weirdness… and eventually bathroom breaks.

Brandon and Jesse take a completely normal stroll through theories about the pyramids, Atlantis, Petra, ley lines, Skinwalker Ranch, Bigfoot, ultra terrestrials, the Book of Enoch, and whether reality is way stranger than we’ve been told.

Somewhere between discussing classified documents, weird government studies, and possible portal creatures, the conversation takes its usual Sesh turn into body weight, random life updates, social chaos, and the kind of completely unhinged side tangents that make this show what it is.

If you’ve ever sat around with friends, passed something good, and ended up asking, “Wait… what if everything we know is incomplete?” this one’s for you.

Conspiracy? Maybe. Curiosity? Definitely.

Skywalker OG: The Strain That Makes You Feel the Force26 mai 202600:15:54

Star Wars nerds, this one’s for you. 🌌

This week we cracked into Skywalker OG, and yeah… if a strain could hand you a lightsaber, tell you to trust the Force, and then make you talk for 45 straight minutes about life, this would be it.

This one surprised us.

Skywalker OG hit with that weirdly perfect combo of clear-headed chill + upbeat social energy, which is honestly a dangerous combination if you already like talking as much as we do. No couch-lock zombie vibes here. More like “let’s have a deep conversation, start three business ideas, and somehow end up discussing traumatic childhood nut injuries.”

As one does.

We break down the flavor, terpene profile, why this strain feels like wearing a weird invisible fuzzy helmet, and whether this is actually a daytime hybrid worth keeping in regular rotation.

Spoiler: it kind of slaps.

In this episode:

  • Why Skywalker OG feels weirdly Force-sensitive
  • The “invisible helmet” high (you’ll get it when it hits)
  • Clear-headed social energy without the mental fog
  • Cottonmouth that comes in swinging
  • Why this might be one of our favorite true hybrids
  • Pain relief potential (but not the knockout kind)
  • Whether cannabis actually makes you sleepy… or if you’re just exhausted
  • Joint rolling rabbit holes
  • Why micro joints may be the move
  • A very real Cannabis School live joint-rolling event idea

Skywalker OG quick breakdown:
Lineage: Mazar x Blueberry OG
Top reported terpenes: Myrcene, Beta-Caryophyllene, Limonene, Humulene, Terpinolene
Reported vibe: Social, upbeat, mentally clear, chill, chatty
Watch for: Cottonmouth and accidentally becoming the friend who will not stop talking

If you like hybrids that actually feel balanced instead of pretending to, this one deserves a shot.

This Wasn’t a Failure. It Was Tuition.21 mai 202601:06:46

What starts as Jesse getting green sticky pants and both of us nerding out over flower that smells like straight-up apple fritters somehow turns into one of those classic Sesh episodes where we accidentally get deep.

This one goes everywhere, in the best way.

We talk about the difference between failure and expensive education, why some of life’s dumbest moments end up teaching the most, and how changing the story you tell yourself can completely change how you process setbacks.

There’s also a very real detour into what a Cannabis School coffee shop would look like (honestly? still into this idea), conversations about being a cannabis nerd without fully admitting you’re a cannabis nerd, and some unexpectedly solid reflection on relationships, communication, and why clarity changes everything.

Basically: part stoner brainstorm, part therapy session, part business idea pitch deck we absolutely built while high.

In this episode:

  • Flower that smells suspiciously like apple fritters
  • Jesse’s tragic grinder incident
  • Why “failure” might be the wrong word
  • The business ideas weed gives you at the exact wrong time
  • Cannabis School Café (investors, call us 😂)
  • Learning from expensive mistakes
  • How misunderstanding creates relationship friction
  • Brandon realizing what he actually nerds out about
  • Random tangents because… obviously

If you’ve ever had a conversation that started with weed and somehow ended with life advice, this one’s for you.

🎙️ Cannabis School is here to make cannabis make sense. Whether you’re canna-curious, a longtime consumer, or just here for the chaos, we break down cannabis, culture, and real life in a way that actually makes sense.

Black Maple19 mai 202600:14:32

This week we sparked up Black Maple from Dragonfly, and right out of the jar… yeah, the name tracks.

Dark, sweet, maple syrup vibes. Not the fake pancake syrup from childhood. We’re talking the thick, rich, Costco real-maple kind that makes you question every breakfast decision you’ve made before now.

Black Maple comes in as a true hybrid bred from Dulce de Uva x Sherbanger, and this one hit interesting.

For us, the effects came on pretty head-first. Forehead, temples, behind the eyes, that “okay I definitely feel this” pressure, but without tipping into couch-lock territory. It had some lift thanks to the pinene presence, but didn’t fully commit to being an energetic daytime strain either.

Basically? It lives in that weird middle ground.

Top terpenes:

  • Beta-Caryophyllene
  • Limonene
  • Alpha-Pinene
  • Beta-Pinene

Cannabinoid profile included trace amounts of:
Delta-9 THC, THCV-A, CBG, CBC-A, CBD-A, and CBG-A

Translation? More going on than just “big THC number go brrrr.”

And honestly… that became part of the conversation.

Because somewhere in this episode we started talking about how chasing the highest THC is still one of the dumbest shopping habits in cannabis.

Black Maple wasn’t bad. Not even close.

It looked great.
Smelled fantastic.
Flavor was solid.
Effects got better as it settled in.

But compared to some strain combos we’ve mixed lately? It felt like this one might actually shine more as a pairing strain than a solo act.

Which led us down a whole rabbit hole of cannabis blending, terp stacking, entourage effect conversations, and whether more people should be intentionally mixing strains instead of always hunting the newest hype jar.

Best reported tendencies from this one?

  • Happy
  • Relaxed
  • Focused
  • Mild pain relief

Would we smoke it again? Yeah.

Would we reach for it over some of our favorite custom combos? Probably not.

But if you’ve had Black Maple from a different grower or batch, your mileage may absolutely vary because cannabis is wildly batch-dependent.

What the hell happened to education, work, and just… figuring life out?14 mai 202601:19:10

This week’s Sesh starts where a lot of great conversations do: realizing you’ve been trying to smoke an empty vaporizer like an absolute idiot.

From there? Chaos.

We get into why joints have officially become the preferred method, why glass somehow feels harsher as you get older, rolling paper debates, weird product tangents, and then somehow take a hard left into one of the more honest conversations we’ve had in a minute.

We talk about whether the education system is actually preparing people for real life… or just training people to follow a script that doesn’t exist anymore.

College degrees.
MBAs.
Job hunting.
Why some companies want ridiculous credentials for jobs that absolutely do not need them.
Why younger generations are rethinking work entirely.
Why older generations stayed put.
And what “valuable work” even means now.

We also get into:

  • Why mentorship seems way harder to find now
  • Whether college is still worth it
  • Mike Rowe, dirty jobs, and overlooked careers
  • Why so many people feel disconnected from the work they do
  • Society rewarding conflict over contribution
  • Men, employment, and some uncomfortable realities around motivation and purpose

Basically… one of those episodes where we started talking about rolling joints and somehow ended up questioning modern civilization.

Classic.

If you’ve ever questioned school, your career path, or why adulthood feels like everyone’s making it up as they go… this one’s for you.

Blue Pluto Strain Review12 mai 202600:34:10

Blue Pluto came in swinging.

Not soft.
Not polite.
Not the kind of strain that knocks gently and asks if now is a good time.

This one had us coughing early, noticing the pine right away, and then realizing it was less of a body-melter and more of a “sit with yourself for a second” kind of strain.

Blue Pluto is an indica-dominant hybrid, usually connected to Pluto Kush crossed with an unknown strain. The public info on this one is pretty thin, so we’re not pretending this is some perfectly documented family tree. What we can say is this: it feels like it comes from that Pluto world. Piney, slightly sweet, heady, and a little spacey without fully dragging you into the couch.

The likely terpene profile leans toward myrcene, caryophyllene, limonene, and possibly pinene. In normal human words, that means you may notice pine, citrus, spice, earth, and that slightly sharp “back of the lungs” feeling that made this episode start with a cough warning.

Effect-wise, Blue Pluto was interesting. It was calming, but not sleepy. Focused, but not racy. Heady, but not foggy. We both noticed it more in the head and neck than as a full-body pain relief strain. This probably would not be my first pick for heavy pain, headaches, or deep relaxation, but for introspection, breathwork, racing, reading, or getting into a focused mental pocket, there’s something there.

This episode gets into how cannabis changes depending on your mood, stress level, and what your body is already carrying. Same strain, different day, different human, different result.

Blue Pluto might not be the superstar strain of the year, but it gave us a real conversation about anxiety, meditation, focus, job stress, breathing, and learning how to actually check in with yourself instead of just bulldozing through the day.

A little coughy.
A little piney.

The Lonely Connected07 mai 202600:45:04

This episode starts with passing joints and gifted flower, then somehow spirals into loneliness, porn brain, social media validation, generational disconnect, masculinity, money, Lyme disease, Fight Club, and why cannabis still feels like one of the last real community experiences left. Basically… a normal episode of The Sesh.

You’ll hear Brandon and Jesse unpack the weird reality of modern connection. Why people are more “plugged in” than ever but somehow feel more isolated. Why sharing a joint with someone hits different than smoking alone. And how a lot of us have slowly traded physical community for digital performance without even realizing it.

There’s also a deep dive into how social media, porn culture, online validation, and constant comparison may be changing the way people connect, date, work, and even see themselves. Some of the conversation gets philosophical, some gets wildly off the rails, and some of it gets surprisingly personal.

Somewhere in the middle:
• Ice Cream Cake becomes a “time machine”
• Fight Club gets brought into the conversation
• The Island Boys catch a stray
• Jesse accidentally forgets what he was talking about mid-thought
• Brandon questions whether modern society is quietly starving for real human connection

And honestly? That’s kind of the whole episode.

This one is less about cannabis itself and more about the thing cannabis often creates when it’s shared correctly:
conversation, connection, honesty, and people actually slowing down long enough to talk.

If you’ve ever felt disconnected, overwhelmed by social media, stuck in your own head, or just tired of fake interactions, this episode will probably hit somewhere familiar.

As always, roll something up, sit with us for a bit, and welcome to The Sesh.

5280 is the chill friend strain05 mai 202600:26:00

Not loud. Not flashy. Not trying to kick the door in. It just shows up, sits down, and quietly tells your body to calm the hell down.

In this episode, we review 5280 from Betty Wellness, a local Utah grow that came through soft, smooth, and way more interesting than the name makes it sound.

The flavor starts mild with a little minty note, then settles into more of a spicy back-end as the bowl opens up. Nothing aggressive, nothing harsh, just a subtle smoke that builds into a calm, steady presence.

What’s in it:
Lineage: Dante’s Inferno x RS11
THC: around 20%
Top terpenes:
• Beta-Caryophyllene
• Humulene
• Bisabolol
• Limonene
• Linalool

What we felt:
Calm body
Clear head
Light dry mouth, mostly tongue
Quiet focus
Less fidgety
Relaxed without feeling dumb

This one leaned indica, but not “cancel your day” indica. More like a hiking strain, yardwork strain, gym strain, or “I need to get through tasks without my body vibrating like a shopping cart wheel” kind of strain.

We also get into Utah hiking weather, movie theaters being wildly overpriced, popcorn economics, streaming brain rot, instant gratification, and how comfort has somehow made all of us worse at waiting.

If you’re looking for something heavy and dramatic, this probably isn’t it.
But if you want a smooth, calm, functional strain that helps your body settle without making your brain useless, 5280 is a solid one.

What does it actually feel like when everything clicks?30 avr. 202600:59:21

You know that moment,
you’re in the corner, sliding, locked in…
nothing else exists.

That’s what we’re chasing in this one.

We start with racing, dirt tracks, figuring it out lap by lap…
but it turns into something bigger.

Because that feeling?
It’s not about the game.

It’s about being fully there.

We get into:
• Why flow state feels like time disappears
• The moment fear leaves, and why that’s dangerous
• How most people are distracted out of their own lives
• Why job hunting, connection, and confidence all come from the same place
• The real reason people feel disconnected, even when they’re together
• And how something as simple as putting your phone down changes everything

There’s a line in here that stuck:

You don’t need a better life.
You need to actually be in the one you’re living.

Cannabis School | First Class Funk Strain Review28 avr. 202600:15:42

First Class Funk is a weird one in the best way.

This strain had that yin and yang thing going on hard. Body felt heavy, relaxed, and calm, while the head stayed clear, present, and ready to talk. Not sleepy. Not foggy. Just balanced in a way that really stood out.

And the flavor makes total sense when you look at what usually shows up in this strain. First Class Funk commonly leans on limonene, caryophyllene, and pinene, so you get that funky, peppery, earthy, slightly bright punch right up front. That GMO and Jet Fuel Gelato background definitely shows up here too.

What we liked most was how present it felt. Shoulders dropped, body chilled out, but the mind didn’t shut off. It felt grounded without getting dull. Bigger hits came in a little hot on the throat, but once it settled, it was super nice.

This feels like a great strain for a walk, the gym, hanging out, or just taking the edge off without getting flattened.

If you want something that relaxes the body without turning your brain off, First Class Funk is worth checking out.

We’re All Starving for Real Connection23 avr. 202600:47:30

This one starts off loose and funny… then turns into something way deeper.

What begins as a random Sesh turns into one of those conversations about life, connection, pain, service, identity, and what actually matters when all the noise gets stripped away.

We bounce from birthdays, pain balm, and getting a little too lifted… into martial arts, poverty, religion, race, community, loneliness, love, and why most people are starving to just feel seen.

This episode is a reminder that real connection still matters.
That helping people matters.
That being yourself matters.
And that a lot of us are carrying way more than we let on.

We talk about the moments that change you forever, the kind that make you realize how much you’ve taken for granted, and how something small to you can mean everything to someone else.

We also get into why people hide, why so many relationships stay surface-level, and what happens when somebody finally feels safe enough to be fully themselves.

It’s funny, raw, thoughtful, a little all over the place, and honestly… one of those episodes that says more than it means to.

In this one:
• birthday chaos and a very high mom moment
• martial arts, tai chi, and why movement matters
• how poverty changes perspective fast
• why service hits different when nothing is expected back
• religion, shame, forgiveness, and conditional love
• race, identity, and how people get taught division
• what it means to actually feel seen
• why being yourself works better than trying to perform

This one is less about having answers and more about remembering what’s real.

Stay curious.

San Fernando Valley OG / SFVOG21 avr. 202600:25:32

San Fernando Valley OG is one of those strains that doesn’t rush you… it settles you.
Smooth inhale, calm head, relaxed body, then out of nowhere you realize you’ve melted into the chair a little more than planned.

In this episode, we break down San Fernando Valley OG from Fire Star and how it actually shows up in real life, not just on paper. The flavor leans sour, earthy, a little cheesy on the back end, and surprisingly solid for older flower.

What’s driving that experience:

Terpenes you’ll usually see:
• Myrcene – that heavy, body-relax feel
• Caryophyllene – adds a little spice, helps take the edge off stress
• Limonene – keeps your head from going fully foggy
• Linalool – soft, calming, slightly floral layer

This combo is why it feels balanced at first… but if you keep going, it leans more into that relaxed, almost sleepy zone.

Cannabinoids (typical range):
• THC: ~18–24%
• CBD: usually very low, often <1%
• CBN: [Inference] may be slightly elevated in older flower, which can add to that sleepy, slower feel

So even if the THC doesn’t look crazy, the experience stacks differently because of how everything works together.

What we actually felt from it:
Calm, steady head
Relaxed body without instant knockout
Slow creeper onset
Clear at first, heavier if you keep going

This isn’t a “go conquer the world” strain.
It’s more like… finish what you’re doing, then chill.

We also get into dry herb vapes vs joints, why hand-rolled still wins for flavor early on, kombucha experiments, and the reality of 4/20 deals, good for your stash, rough on your wallet.

If you like something that lets you stay present but takes the edge off your body, San Fernando Valley OG does that really well.

You’re Not Lost, You’re Just In Between16 avr. 202600:39:45

This one’s for anyone trying to figure out where they fit while building something real.

We got honest on this episode. Jobs, identity, money, purpose… all of it.

What happens when you start getting traction somewhere else, but it still doesn’t feel like “the thing”?

We talk about that weird middle space.

Between building your own path and working for someone else.

Between chasing freedom and needing stability.

There’s a lot in here:

• Getting interviews after actually applying yourself

• Why responsibility can feel better than chasing a check

• Letting go of doing everything yourself and building a team

• Why content works better when it feels like a conversation, not a strategy

• The truth about social media… it was supposed to be connection

We also get into sales, rejection, and why most people overcomplicate it.

Spoiler, people don’t want to be sold. They want to feel understood.

And somewhere in the middle of all that, we realized something simple:

The more you try to sound like everyone else, the more people tune out.

The more you just show up as you, the more things start working.

This one’s less about cannabis, more about life.

But honestly… that’s kind of the point.

If you’ve ever felt stuck between where you are and where you want to go, this one will hit.

Stay curious.

Cannabis School | Jaeger Strain Review14 avr. 202600:24:23

This episode started with some love for the Bomb rig and turned into one of those conversations that reminds you this plant is way more than a label.

We’re talking about Jaeger, and this one caught us off guard in the best way.

Not in a jittery, over-the-top, too-much kind of way.

More like clear, awake, social, and lightly lifted.

Jaeger brought that focused, present kind of energy where you feel like doing something, but without the chest tension, racing energy, or weird edge people usually assume comes with certain strain labels. It felt mellow, functional, thoughtful, and honestly just really enjoyable.

That’s what made this episode fun.

Because once we got into how Jaeger actually felt, it turned into a bigger conversation about how many people still judge cannabis based on old labels, old stigma, and one bad experience they had years ago.

We talk about why terpene profiles matter more than lazy indica vs. sativa assumptions, why dose matters more than people think, and how understanding your own response can completely change your relationship with cannabis.

And then, because this is us, the conversation drifts into all the things cannabis tends to open up when you actually pay attention.

Stigma.

Judgment.

Alcohol.

Emotions.

Connection.

Why some people feel more open, more reflective, and more like themselves when they use cannabis intentionally.

We also get into something real here, how cannabis can help people slow down enough to actually feel what they’re feeling instead of just stuffing it down or checking out. Not in a miracle-cure kind of way. Just in a “maybe I can sit with this, understand it, and move through it” kind of way.

Jaeger ended up feeling like one of those strains that helps you loosen your grip a little. Not foggy. Not couchlocked. Not chaotic. Just good. Social. Grounded. Easy to enjoy.

If you’ve written off certain strains because of labels alone, this episode might change how you think about that.

And if you’ve ever felt like cannabis helped you feel more open, less judgmental, or more okay being yourself, yeah, we go there too.

Strain: Jaeger

Format: Concentrate

Vibe: Clear, social, reflective, mellow lift

Best fit: Daytime, conversations, being productive, getting out of your own way

Heads up: Start low and go slow if you’re newer, because too much may feel a little spacey

This one’s for the people who want to feel better without feeling out of it.

Why Everything Feels Off (And What You’re Missing)09 avr. 202601:21:37

If you’ve ever felt like you’re doing everything “right”…

but something still feels off, this episode is for you.

Not burnt out.

Not lazy.

Just… disconnected.

From purpose. From direction. From anything that actually feels real.

We start this one talking about that strange feeling cannabis can bring up,

like none of this is new, like life has happened before, just in a different version.

But it turns into something deeper.

Because somewhere along the way, “progress” stopped meaning fulfillment

and started meaning faster, newer, more.

And a lot of people are left sitting there thinking…

why doesn’t this feel better?

What we get into:

  • Why so many people feel lost right now

  • How distraction replaced direction

  • The difference between making money and having purpose

  • Why you’re influencing people, whether you realize it or not

  • And what it actually means to be a decent human in a noisy world

There’s also a real conversation around belief systems,

not as labels, but as lived behavior.

Because it’s easy to say what you believe.

It’s harder to live it.

Where cannabis fits

Not as an escape.

As a moment to slow down and actually look at your life.

Not guaranteed. Not the same for everyone.

But for some people, it’s where the questions start.

The takeaway

If you don’t choose your direction,

you’ll end up following someone else’s.

We Bought Discount Weed… Here’s What Happened07 avr. 202600:34:25

This one started with a discount eighth and a little suspicion.

Bachelor Party by Black Sheep was harvested back in December 2024, so yeah, this was definitely older flower. Usually that’s where expectations start dropping. Dry bud, muted flavor, weaker effects, all the usual red flags. But this one ended up doing something way more interesting. It held up.

What kicked this episode off was simple, Jesse grabbed it on sale for $22 an eighth, and we figured we’d see if this older batch was still worth the smoke. Turns out, Bachelor Party had a lot more going on than expected.

The flavor came through sweet, a little strange, and honestly kind of unique. There was a terpene in this one we don’t usually see, fenchyl alcohol, which sent us down a rabbit hole about aroma, uncommon terpene profiles, and why some strains hit different in ways you can’t always predict from the label alone.

But the real surprise was the effect.

This wasn’t one of those strains that punches you in the face right away. It had a slower onset, but once it settled in, it brought this really clear, relaxed, steady headspace. Not heavy in a dumb way. Not racy. Not foggy. Just calm, functional, and easy to ride with. Jesse talked about it knocking him out at night without even realizing it, while I ended up seeing it as something I’d use during the day, for work, hiking, or just hanging out.

That’s kind of what made Bachelor Party stand out. It felt flexible. If you’re already tired, it can lean bedtime. If you’re up and moving, it seems to move with you. Clear-headed, mellow, and surprisingly useful.

This episode also turned into one of those classic Cannabis School detours, where a strain review becomes a bigger conversation about perception, gratitude, anxiety, relationships, belief, internal dialogue, and how much your mindset shapes your experience. So yeah, this one covers flower, but it also goes way past flower.

Bottom line, Bachelor Party was way better than either of us expected, especially for year-old bud. Dry? Yeah, probably. But still flavorful, still effective, and honestly a really solid pickup.

If you can find a fresher batch, even better. But based on this one alone, Bachelor Party is worth paying attention to.

Strain: Bachelor Party

Brand: Black Sheep

Parent company discussed: Standard Wellness

Top terpenes discussed: beta-caryophyllene, limonene, humulene, fenchyl alcohol

Notable cannabinoids mentioned: CBC, CBG

Overall vibe: clear-headed, calm, flexible, lightly relaxing

Best fit from this episode: daytime, work, hiking, hanging out, or winding down if you’re already tired

This episode is for anyone who’s ever looked at an old jar on sale and thought, “there’s no way this is still good.”

Turns out, sometimes the cheap old weed still has a few things to say.

Novelty Is My Drug of Choice | The Sesh02 avr. 202600:45:33

In this episode of The Sesh, we start with a painfully honest truth, novelty is addictive as hell.

Not in the dramatic after-school-special way. In the real-life way. Learning can feel productive. Research can feel productive. Building the perfect system can feel productive. But sometimes it’s just a prettier way to avoid doing the actual thing in front of you.

So that’s where this one starts.

We get into analysis paralysis, fear of failure, bare minimum habits, and why doing ten simple reps every day beats building some giant perfect plan you’ll never follow. We talk about what happens when your competitive edge fades, why rejection gets easier only after you’ve eaten enough no’s, and how asking for things opens way more doors than most people realize.

From there, this one goes where The Sesh always goes, into the weeds in the best way.

We get into parenting, connection, service, letting people help you, networking, sales, social awkwardness, work, masculinity, modern comfort, forgotten skills, religion, change, collapse, and why racing games somehow became therapy.

It’s funny, scattered, sharp, and way more honest than polished.

What we get into:

Why learning can turn into avoidance

Analysis paralysis and the fear behind overthinking

The power of simple daily reps

Why asking is a skill most people never build

How rejection changes you

Competition, drive, and what happens when you lose your edge

Service, connection, and why receiving help can be harder than giving it

The value of trades, real-world skills, and uncomfortable growth

Why change feels threatening even though life is literally change

How racing became meditation

A bunch of side quests, because obviously

This episode is for you if:

You keep “preparing” instead of starting

You’ve been stuck in your head and calling it progress

You miss feeling driven

You struggle to ask for what you want

You’re good at helping everyone but yourself

You like conversations that start in one place and end up somewhere way more interesting

One of the biggest takeaways from this one:

A lot of us are not actually stuck because we don’t know enough.

We’re stuck because doing the simple thing every day is less exciting than building a new theory about our life.

That’s the trap.

Listen now, then ask yourself:

What’s the thing you already know you need to do, but keep replacing with something more interesting?

Send us your thoughts, your feedback, and your suggestions for future episodes of The Sesh. We love hearing where your brain goes with these conversations.

This is a “go do something” strain. Go outside, go think, go connect.

What we talk about

The Sesh: One Strain, Ten Tangents, and a Surprisingly Good Conversation26 mars 202600:50:49

This one goes everywhere, and honestly, that is what makes it fun.

We start with where we were when 9/11 happened, somehow end up in stories from the state hospital, take a hard left into awkward family moments, Utah sex culture, social media brain rot, work stress, gaming, cooking, and the weird ways cannabis helps slow life down enough to actually think.

Basically, it is one of those Sesh episodes where the conversation keeps unfolding and somehow still makes sense by the end.

Also, Zkittles was along for the ride, and this strain absolutely earned its spot. It kept us relaxed, clearheaded, talkative, and just introspective enough to get honest without going totally off the rails.

In this episode we get into:

Where we were when 9/11 happened

What it was like working in the forensic ward at the state hospital

Why some childhood and family memories should probably stay buried

Utah, repression, and why nobody gets taught how to communicate about sex

How social media can quietly turn life into something fake and transactional

Why cannabis can help cut through ego and get you back to what actually matters

The difference between doing things for numbers vs doing them because they help people

Food, cooking, convenience, and why feeling good matters more than just being full

Gaming rabbit holes, old favorites, and why some new games just are not built the same anymore

Why good conversation with the right person and the right strain still hits every time

About the strain:

This episode was powered by Zkittles, and it was a damn good fit.

Buzz’s Zkittles out of Utah came in at 21% THC and felt smooth, social, and super easy to ride. It helped take the edge off, loosen up the body, and made this one of those episodes where the conversation just kept flowing.

Not too heavy. Not too sleepy. Just one of those strains that makes it easy to sit back, talk, laugh, and actually enjoy where your mind goes.

Final thought:

Some episodes are polished. Some are planned. And some are just two people following the conversation wherever it wants to go.

This one is the third kind.

And honestly, those are usually the best ones.

Zkittles (Buzz, Utah) | The Strain That Lets You Think Straight24 mars 202600:25:23

We sat down with Zkittles from Buzz here in Utah… and ended up doing what this strain does best, getting lost in a real conversation.

Not scatterbrained.

Not couch-locked.

Just dialed in.

This one sits in that rare middle ground. You feel relaxed, but your mind is still sharp. You can follow a thought, stay present, and actually enjoy where the conversation goes instead of forgetting what you were saying halfway through.

Honestly, it felt like calm and clarity at the same time.

What It Feels Like

This is one of those strains that is tough to label cleanly.

You get:

A little energy

A little body calm

A little mood lift

A lot of mental clarity

It is not overwhelming in any direction, which is exactly why it works so well.

Great for hanging out, catching up, or even talking through real stuff without getting foggy.

Flavor + Smell

Leans fruity right away. We picked up grapefruit with a sweet citrus edge.

Not fake candy sweet, more natural fruit with a little funk behind it.

Terpenes (from what we saw at Buzz)

Beta-caryophyllene up front

Humulene

Linalool

Limonene

Myrcene

That combo explains a lot of the balanced feel. Calm body, clear head.

Lineage

What we saw tied this one to:

Grape Ape

Grapefruit

Like always, strain names can vary depending on who grew it, but that’s the general lane.

The Experience

This was one of those sessions where time just kind of disappears because you are actually engaged.

We went from joking around to real conversations without that weird mental drop-off.

It is introspective, but not heavy.

Focused, but not intense.

Relaxed, but not sleepy.

Honestly, this would be a great “talk it out” strain.

Quick Take

Good for:

Conversation

Chilling without checking out

Thinking clearly

Late afternoon or evening

Not ideal if you just want to be knocked out or completely shut your brain off.

Final Thought

Zkittles from Buzz is one of those strains that reminds you cannabis does not always have to hit hard to be good.

Sometimes it just needs to help you be a little more present.

If you are in Utah, this one is worth trying.

Cannabis Isn’t What You Think… And They’ve Got Receipts19 mars 202600:59:26

Three completely different worlds collide in this one.

A doctor who walked away from traditional medicine.

A nurse who realized she was never taught the full picture.

And a Jamaican herbalist who lived cannabis before it was legal and paid the price for it.

This episode goes deeper than surface-level cannabis talk.

We get into what actually happens when plant medicine meets modern healthcare and why that conversation still makes people uncomfortable.

There are prison stories.

There are hard truths about the medical system.

And there are real questions about what healing actually looks like.

The big takeaway is simple:

We’ve been looking at this wrong.

What We Get Into:

Growing up with cannabis before legalization

Getting arrested and still coming back to the plant

Why doctors and nurses are not trained on cannabis

The gap between what we are told and what actually works

PTSD from prohibition and why it still shows up

How cannabis fits into real healthcare

Why one-size-fits-all medicine falls short

The idea that your body may already be built to use this plant

The Book:

Why We Die, How to Live: Beyond Pills & Procedures

This book breaks down the top causes of death and looks at them through a different lens, one that includes cannabis, lifestyle, and prevention.

This is not a one-and-done read. It is something you come back to.

Real Talk:

This episode is not about hype.

It is about asking better questions.

Why is cannabis still misunderstood

Who benefits from that

What changes when you actually learn instead of just listen

High Without the Fog, Meet Black Triangle17 mars 202600:14:52

What actually makes a strain feel “balanced” instead of just strong?

In this episode, we break down Black Triangle, a strain that hits that rare middle ground. You feel it in your body, but your head stays clear. Relaxed without being stuck. Calm without checking out.

This is one of those strains that challenges the idea that higher THC automatically means a better experience. Because this one proves it doesn’t.

What We Talk About:

• Why Black Triangle feels like a true 50/50 hybrid, not just labeled that way

• The difference between feeling “high” vs feeling good

• How limonene and other terpenes shape the experience more than THC alone

• Why this strain makes you more talkative instead of shutting you down

• The surprising gap between THC percentage and actual effect

• Vaporizer differences and how they impact what you feel

• Why some devices hit harder even at the same temperature

• A real-world test of how much is “too much” and what that actually feels like

The Experience (Simple Version):

Black Triangle is one of those strains where:

• Your body loosens up

• Your mind stays sharp

• Conversations get easier

• You feel present, not spaced out

It is not a couch-lock strain.

It is not a jittery head high either.

It sits right in the middle and does it well.

What Stands Out:

The terpene profile matters here.

Limonene leads, which likely explains why this feels elevated without anxiety. Then you have support from other cannabinoids like CBD and THCV, which may be helping smooth things out.

[Inference] Based on known terpene behavior, this combination leans toward mood support and clarity, not sedation.

Who This Is For:

• New consumers who want something balanced

• Daily users who want to stay functional

• Anyone who wants to feel good without feeling gone

What We’d Skip or Question:

There is a moment in this episode where a topical balm is said to cause a strong psychoactive effect.

That is not how topicals are generally understood to work.

Topicals typically do not enter the bloodstream in a way that causes a full-body high.

[Unverified] That experience is anecdotal and likely influenced by other variables, not just the topical itself.

Final Take:

This is a reminder that cannabis is not about chasing the highest number.

It is about how it feels.

Black Triangle delivers a calm, clear, social experience that a lot of people are actually looking for but do not know how to describe.

Rating: 8/10

One of the better balanced hybrids we have had.

If you want a strain that helps you stay in the moment without dragging you down or spinning you out, this is one worth trying.
