We are going to explore an urban legend from the late 1800's. There's a mother and daughter who went on a holiday and during their lay over their lives would change forever. On the eve of Epiphany it is said that there is a witch named La Befana that visits the homes of children in Italy. If you are good she will leave a treat, but if you are naughty then you aren’t as lucky. Her tradition started in the 13th century and has continued into today’s holiday season. Annnnnddddd we're back! Now what would be better for our return then a story about a Bigfoot! However, we're going to Australia for this one. It is known as the Yowie and it has been evading the public for years. So much so that the sightings come few and far between, but when they happen they've been shared with the news outlet. A time after Halloween when the separation between the human and spirit world is nonexistent and spirits can travel freely to see their family and friends. He Campers, I’d like to give you a disclaimer on this week's episode. The subject material is a little more heavy this time around because we are covering true crime. They went out for a normal day of work and on their way home they came face to face with a UFO. In our second special October episode we continue to explore the idea of poltergeist in movies/real life. We decided to use The Exorcist for this week's episode and can I just say this episode is one of the craziest ones yet. The story behind the exorcist starts in 1949 and follows the 4 month traumatic experience of Ronald Doe, a 14 year old boy from Cottage City, Maryland. In early 1949 strange things started to happen in Ronald's life like knocking sounds from inside his room walls, his bed sliding around the room and his unexplainable ability to speak Latin, a language he never knew. After seeking help from almost everyone available, it seemed like hope was lost until a team of Catholic priests got involved. So what happened? How do we know these stories? In 1977 there were a lot of landmark events that changed the course of history and for one family that event would eventually be turned into a movie we all know as The Conjuring 2. The Hodgson family which consists of a mom named Peggy, her two daughters Margaret, and Janet as well as her two sons Johnny and Billy lived at 284 Green Street in Enfield, North London. One fateful night a knocking noise broke the silence of this families home, from that night it rippled into an 18 month supernatural haunting. During this time, their lives were filled with paranormal investigators coming into their home, spiritual possessions and destruction and levitations caused by inhuman entities. For this weeks story I decided to tell the true story of the Hodgson poltergeist and hope that gives us all a more clear picture of the events that forever changed our history with the supernatural, but also for this family. There is a cryptid out there that may or may not be the hero we didn’t know we all needed. Coming straight from the underworld there is a supernatural canine known as a Hellhound. This week's cryptid is super powerful and so huge it's sheer size would be enough to scare you to death. However, this cryptid is on a mission to go out every night to collect souls and take them to where they belong. Sometimes that soul will go upstairs and other times it goes to the one and only H E double hockey sticks. But, is this week's cryptid a protector or a tyrant and can we protect ourselves? I wanted to share a story of a cryptid from the Great White North, so ladies and gentlemen let me tell you the tale of the legendary Sluagh. This winged creature was once human and thanks to the deeds they did during their life instead of moving on they were turned into a Sluagh. For the rest of their existence they are forced to travel in a flock of these cryptids in search of dying souls to collect. Now, they aren't opposed to attacking any human and if you wanna know how to save yourself in this scenario take a listen to this week's episode. In the forest across America there is a cryptid that lurks in the shadows searching for their next meal. They stand tall at about 7ft and are able to manipulate their bodies in any shape in order to creep closer and closer to their prey. By the way did I mention their favorite prey was humans?!! Welcome back campers for another new episode of Campfire Adventures. This is an episode I'd like to use as an excuse to tell you all about an adventure I took in South Korea with one of my best friends Caden. So for this week I am sharing the tale of a Kumiho which in South Korea is a spirit of a fox with nine tails! I know, I know you immediately thought of the Pokémon Ninetales and if you didn't then I'm sure you are now lol. Anyway this spirit is on an endless search to trick a human and eventually eat their heart and liver! Yup they are pretty intense and you might be thinking, well this wouldn't happen to me because I will see a fox with nine tails, but what if I told you they can shapeshift! This story is filled with twists and turns, but also tons of laughs. So grab a drink, relax and enjoy this week's episode!

Hey Campers guess what we did for this week's episode ... Did you guess? Well, we finally recorded an episode at the beach and this time we had a bonfire!!! Ok ok we didn't record the story with the fire on, but we lit it at night and had some smores. More importantly we told a story continuing the legend of Duendes. Only this time instead of telling the folktale from the perspective of Filipino culture this time we told the Latin American version. There is a malevolent spirit out there that for all eternity is searching for and collecting the souls of the living. What are these cryptids called you ask, well they are known as a Wraith. Now I'm sure you might be wondering what these creatures look like, if you’ve ever watched Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and remember the Dementors that would be the best thing to visualize. How many of us out there have heard of Bigfoot? What about La Llorona? Maybe even the Mothman? I'm sure some of you probably have heard of these cryptids, but today I'd like to introduce you all to a cryptid that gained its popularity in 2007. In a CITY called Fresno in CA there has been a legend going around about a pair of haunted pants! Yup, you read that correctly a pair of haunted pants and they have been dubbed the Fresno Nightcrawlers. Now one of the hardest things to pinpoint was what does this cryptid want and has anyone ever dealt with them in person. I know this one’s hard to swallow, but check out this week's story so you can hear about this new cult classic cryptid. Also I’m posting some videos so if you creep out easily, maybe make sure your clothes are put away just on the off chance your pants start to act up!

So what do we know about Gnomes? Well we know a little thanks to Patrice, and that is in the border of Scotland and England there are blood thirsty gnomes that call the area home. But as we know from that episodes there are gnomes that can be found all around the world. So I'd like to let this weeks guest host Lory, introduce you all to a jungle gnome found in The Amazon known as The Chullachaqui. As you listen to this weeks episode keep an open mind, because if you can connect the dots you might have an enlightening moment. In a village in England there is a legend that has been shared since the 1700’s. For parents they took the legend as a warning for their children. That once the sun starts to set its time for children to come inside, because if they don’t then there is a cryptid that leaves her cave in search for a new child like victim. Now if she is able to grab a child during her hunt, it is said that they are never seen again. Also, it seems like as humans advanced over time, The Black Annis also had to adapt. So if you find yourself outside after dark just make sure you listen for her howling off in the distance, that means she's far away, but  if you hear teeth grinding close to you then be ready to run because that means she's close to you. In Arizona there in an area known as the Mogollon Rim, this location is home to a cryptid that has been terrorizing locals for over 100 years. This creature is so popular that its tale has been published in The Arizona Republic Newspaper and even shared around the campfire's of many Boy Scout troops. With all these accounts being shared, the public eventually dubbed this cryptid the Mogollon Monster! Even though there are encounters shared from various people the true intentions of this being is unknown. It is believed however that the Mogollon Monster is related to the legendary Bigfoot! In Utah there is a state park known as Escalante Petrified Forest. Many people from all over the world come to visit this state park to catch a glimpse of the very alluring petrified wood found in the park. Now some of these people will notice that there are signs in place warning visitors to refrain from taking these fossils home with them. And you should count yourself lucky if you heed this warning because for those that don't they claim to have taken more home with them than they bargained. A curse is said to turn the thief's life upside down, they are forced to endure the unluckiest chapters of their lives. That is until they return the petrified wood to its rightful home. In Kansas there is a cryptid that has been known to the locals since the 1950's. You wouldn't believe it, but this monster is a 15ft long worm that calls the largest lake in Kansas home. With only three sightings people have struggled to try and prove that this creature is not just a myth. Newspapers started to fly off the shelf when the stories of the now dubbed Sinkhole Sam started to be printed. So what is Sinkhole Sam? Should the locals fear this 15ft worm? We recorded a special episode to celebrate Campfire Adventures first birthday. It was the first time since our road trip that we sat around the original firepit and shared a story with the friends and family that have supported our podcast. For me the perfect story for this night had to be connected to Ireland because our bday is on St Patrick's Day and also have a connection to our first episode about a Vampire. Well if you were wondering if we were able to pull it off, then the answer is yes, with the legend of Abhartach. Abhartach was a tyrant of a leader who possessed magical abilities. He terrified his clan during his entire life, but it was after he died and raised himself from the grave that things seemed to take a turn for the worst. So will the clan's people survive? Will Abhartach torment his former clan forever? Or will someone come to save the day? In Missouri there is a mountain range that is surrounded by lakes and rivers, it's known as the Ozarks. Every year locals and tourists alike travel to hike, boat and just kick back and enjoy the scenery made popular by Netflix's famous show of the same name (Ozarks.) But what some people don't know is that there is a cryptid that calls the land home and because it doesn't stray too far from the mountains it has been dubbed The Ozark Howler. For over 200 years the legend of this Howler has been passed down from generation to generation. Now depending on which version you heard you might know this cryptid as a witches pet demon, or maybe even an omen that death will soon be knocking at your door and if those aren't enough there is legend that says if you offend the Ozark Howler he might just set your place on fire. So is he real, well I'm not 100% sure, but I do know that you might be able to make your own assumptions after listening to the newest episode of our podcast. Enjoy!

There is a town in Arkansas called Fouke, it currently has a population of about 850 people so if something ever happened it wouldn't take long for word to spread around. Well in the early 1900's reports of a Wildman living in the forest surrounding the town started to make its way throughout the town. As the years passed more and more sightings were reported until finally an incident in 1971 caught the attention of major news outlets and radio stations among various towns and states. Since this moment many people within the town and multiple tourists have claimed to have their own encounter or sighting of this cryptid. It has since been dubbed the Fouke Monster and even has a movie and festival made about it, but what are the chances of this creature actually being real and even more so what does it want? In 1969 reports of an unknown creature lurking in the forest around Greer Island in Fort Worth, TX filled headlines. People would come to the island/lake to enjoy the view and relax during their leisure time. However, during the year of 1969 the public started to fear the story of a 7ft tall bigfoot/goat hybrid creature were true. Some people claimed that this Lake Worth Monster jumped on cars, others said it would swing from the tree and one man said this cryptid actually slashed his car! But as soon as all these reports and sightings started to build up, the creature vanished and to this day there haven't been any new sightings. Who doesn't enjoy going to a bed and breakfast, I mean the name alone says they have everything you could want, or does it? Well if you're like me then you like to have your eggs served with a side of paranormal activity (ok yes and with the blankets readily available to protect you.) Nonetheless, where would one find a place like that? Well I know of a place in Louisiana that checks all these boxes and it's called The Myrtles Plantation. With over 200 years of history in Louisiana it's crazy to think that from its very existence it was connected to the supernatural. I guess I should clarify this a little, they actually built this home over a Native American Burial Ground...yeah if that doesn't scream paranormal I don't know what would. In 1973 an event would take place in Jackson County, Mississippi that would forever live in infamy. Charles Hickson and Calvin Parker decided to take a fishing trip to Pascagoula River and spend the whole day trying to reel in the biggest fish. Day slowly faded into night and the two saw a light slowly approaching them and thought it must be the sheriff. To their surprise it turned into an Unidentified Flying Object and at that moment the two knew they were in real trouble. For years these two lived turmoil over people either believing them or calling them crazy. It wasn't until 50 years in the future that the county's view of the two changed and an unexpected revelation to what actually happened that night would come to light. It only took one night for this week's cryptid to become a local legend. In Flatwoods, West Virginia there was a light that brightened up the night sky on September 12, 1952. There were multiple accounts shared with the media, but it was the accounts made by the May family and friends that became the “true” story of the cryptid. In Georgia there lives an aquatic cryptid known as the Altamaha-ha a.k.a. Altie. It has called the Altamaha River and the waterways around it home since the 1800's. Although this creature may have been seen multiple times, actual proof of its existence has still proven hard to find. Well if today's cryptid does this it would find out it is related to the one and only Bigfoot. Yeah I know the Bigfoot lineage stretches all across the United States, hell I might get tested just to see if by chance he's my cousin too! But I digress, today's creature is local to Florida and is so popular that in addition to having a website and a museum it also has a headquarters dedicated to proving it's existence! He gets out and fixes the car and just when he gets ready to leave he hears wet sounding footsteps creep closer and closer to him. As he gets in the car and locks the door he is frightened when a giant lizard-like creature tries to force its way into his car. He gets away just barely and rushes back to town to tell anyone who will listen to his story, but do they believe him or do they just brush him off?
