Scot Schwartz is my guest this week. He is best known for playing Flick in the 1983 beloved film ‘A Christmas Story’. His latest film ‘A Christmas Story Christmas’ is the third installment in the ‘A Christmas Story’ franchise. It debuted November 17th on HBO Max and will be released to other video streaming platforms soon. The film sees the original cast back in action for another round of festive and heartwarming thrills. Scotty and I discuss the film, cast, behind the scenes stories, and go across the board into talks of showbiz, comedy, humility, his work with Richard Pryor and Jackie Gleason, his career and more.

One of the coolest around is my guest on Calling Old Hollywood this week, Actor and Author Darby Hinton.

From Wagon Train to Bill Tilghman and the Outlaws, Days of our Lives, Good Guys and Bad Guys, he's done quite alot. Best known though for his role as Israel Boone on Daniel Boone.

We filmed this upcoming episode in both video and audio. He was generous to show us film and television memoribilia including the coon skin hat that made his role as Israel Boone so infamous (will be in video). This Wednesday on Calling Old Hollywood, you know him from ‘The Pope of Greenwich Village’, ‘Runaway Train’, ‘The Expendables’, ‘Star 80’, ‘The Dark Knight’, and countless other films and television shows. My guest is Actor Eric Roberts.

I’ve wanted to interview Eric for awhile for sentimental reasons. Growing up, my Mothers favorite film was 1995 drama ‘Saved by the light’. My mother passed when I was 12 and I’ve always wanted to share with Eric what that film meant to her, and how it’s become a beautiful reminder for me of her. He was very touched to hear this, and we spoke in depth about his portrayal as Dannion Brinkley. We also touched on showbiz, purpose, the importance of pursuing dreams, past films he’s done, and more.

My guest this week is one of the sweetest people I've met and worked with, Actress Catherine Hicks.

Since it's October we focused on her role in the very first Child's Play film (listen to the episode I released this past Wednesday with her husband Kevin Yagher). Catherine dishes behind the scenes stories of the film, how the two met, and the impact the film has had on her life. She also dishes about Classic Hollywood influences, how she got into acting, her lesser known yet incredible role as Marilyn Monroe (and how she feels about the icon's legacy being remembered today) and so much more.

Kevin is best known for his work in designing and creating iconic horror icons like Child’s Play’s ‘Chucky’, the Crypt Keeper creature, and Freddy Krueger’s gruesome makeup.

Kevin has worked in the industry since his early twenties, with eager sights set on the FX world. One of the kindest, we discuss his work with Child’s Play, the Crypt Keeper, iconic horror films and early influences, Classic Hollywood, the importance of pursuing your passions in life and humility, and the cutest story about he met his wife Catherine Hicks on the set of the first Child’s Play film. Bernie Shine is a magician and performer who has been a prolific entertainer since he first appeared on the scene in the 1970’s.

Shine was a law student when he first started performing regularly at the Close Up Room at the Magic Castle in Hollywood. The young magician was taken under the wing of some of the more experienced performers, including legends such as Dai Vernon, Francis Carlyle and Senator Clark Crandall. 

√\Richard Shelton is a British film, TV and theatre actor and singer, who performed in ITV's Emmerdale. He portrayed Frank Sinatra in Rat Pack Confidential in London's West End, and performed in the movies House of Lies and in My Week with Marilyn.

Happy Mother’s Day to all celebrating with and all remembering their Mother 🌸🌷

I’ve just re-released the podcast episode I did last year with Natasha Gregson Wagner — Actress and daughter of Natalie Wood. 

We did this episode intentionally for Mother’s Day. Natasha shared so fondly memories her mother, the book and documentary she made in her honor, and more. 

As someone who also lost her mother at a young age, Natasha and I spoke about what the bgrief has been like, comparing existential notes so to speak on how we as strong women coped with and learned to live in a world without our Mothers. It’s a beautiful episode and whether or not you’re celebrating today with your Mom, or you’re in the same boat as us — check out the episode and don’t forget — you are loved and you are not alone.

In January of 2020 I attended a James Dean event in Palm Springs, hosted by The Film Makers Gallery.

It was a beautiful evening.

At the after party a cake was brought out and we sang Happy Birthday to Ty, whom I had been talking to throughout the evening but only later learned that he is an Actor and son of Hollywood Icon and Actor - Tyrone Power.

Ty was born after his father died, and has carried on the multi generational family tradition of Acting.

Ty is my guest on Episode 10 - and I am thoroughly humbled and grateful for the discussion we had wherein he speaks of his career in Acting, thoughts on life, film, his family, his father and much more.

My guest is Friend, Actor, Director, and Author— Christian Madsen. Christian is the second guest to come on the podcast a second time. The first episode we did back in 2020 at the height of the pandemic and riots/protests in LA. We did that episode inside the mausoleum at Hollywood Forever Cemetery.
