First 30 minutes isn't the best sound I made the best I could out of it. about 35 minutes in the sounds corrects. In this episode. introduce John Lamparelli. We discuss him joining the show full time, as well as the prospective he brings. We talk about the different type of clubs John has been a member at, as well as the one he is a minority owner of. Jonh gets into the different types of fittings he's had with and without me. We dig into John's WITB, his favorite shoe types, and a few experiences we've had. We talk about how staying current in the golf shop is important, not just with merchandise. This episode was sort of a trial run. Look for us to cover less, but more specific topics heading forward. I start talking about how there’s nothing better than a rainy day in the golf business.

I explain the way golfers had to adjust there thought process, and adjust with the changing conditions caused by Mother Nature.

of the guys making decisions.

I also get into a specific fitting, and the great back and forth we had. I explain how and why, a combination of feel, they eye test, and technology played an equal part in our final decision. Too often fitters are chasing numbers, when all a golfer truly needs, is a consistent flight.

Scotty Scheffler is your Masters Champion. He looks similar to Tiger in his prime! Not taking any chances, and not making any big mistakes. I also discuss his non use of technology while warming up.

MyGolfSpy tweeted Augusta got it wrong asking Jason Day to remove his vest. It's their golf course their rules. You don't like them stay home.

I expand on the apparel issue, as well as where the line is, if there is one. Fashion and rules are dictated by management at every individual club. The line I'm talking about isn't what should and shouldn't be worn, it's who the club is. The clubs that understand who they are and stay true to those values, succeed. If your members are leaving, a majority of the time it's not a financial decision.

Members decide, what is valuable to them, and where the value lies. Too many clubs forget who they are, and drop to a level where the value to the golfer doesn't justify the cost.

I talk about my plans for the season, and what's important to me when it comes to my gear. I also make plans to fit myself for the entire bag, and how it can help a lot of people.

After yesterday's setback I needed a good rant to get some stuff out of my head.

I talk about what happened yesterday. I give some examples of where I see differences in my attitude moving forward.

I miss going 100mph in life, and I worry about what's going to happen moving forward. Explaining how my body reacts to medications, and what I need in my day to day life to survive. People might look at having a person to clean as an unnecessary expense, I look at it like a co-pay for a medication. I wish I didn't have to pay for help, but unfortunately, I do.

A joke from my doctor about flip flops with no socks, helps me explain why I very rarely wear shoes. The struggles I face every morning, shine a light on why it is so difficult for me to keep things clean and organized. It's tough to explain to people that being a slob, is as difficult for me as it is to the people around me.

I take about my personality, how difficult it is to ask for help, but I always say yes when asked for a favor.

A lot of listeners left, didn't know me before I started this podcast, and haven't seen the workaholic side. I've talked about my health issues and how unhealthy I am, but I have done such a good job of hiding it for 20 years, a lot of people thought I was exaggerating.

As the nurses that had to clean me up yesterday, if I'm "doing this for attention!"

There's a joke towards the end about my life that pretty much sums me up. You might not like me, and believe me I'm cool with that. Chances are you got into it with me, crossed a line, and in turn I offended you. Good our society could use some honesty to those who are always offended.

It's been a while since I've sat down and ranted!I talk about a few things I've seen/posted on social media recently. I explain my struggles with the "hit and giggle" generation. I explain my stance on politics, and why I avoid discussing them. My beliefs are mine, you're entitled to yours. I also get into the state of the business side of golf. I get into Mygolfspy and how one sided their information is, and how it's hurting lower priced companies. I discuss wholesale prices, and how companies like TrueSpec, Club Champion, and others are cutting into the tight budgets of consumers. As well as how private clubs, can use discounts, renovations, and amentaties to their advantage. I talk a little bit about me, and how the antidepressant opened my eyes to negative thoughts about life. I also explain why I've attacked Bob the Builder, and how his groupies, put him in my crosshairs. I wish I would have gone a little deeper on a few issues, and was planing on going back and adding some in. I thought 30 minutes unedited was a little more genuine.... I'm back! I haven't felt more like myself in years!!! Let's Gooo!!!

I talk about the Super Bowl It was a great game, and the Chiefs are definitely in the conversation with the Patriots. I talk about society's reaction to Taylor Swift on NFL Coverage. I also explain how generation gaps, might cause what some would consider unacceptable behavior. You can't go into an NFL stadium wearing the opposing teams gearing no expect some type of resistance. Is there a line, of course! I talk about the difference as to where that line is on LIV and The PGA Tour. I give my opinion on swag, limited edition designed for events, and where Waste Management lost control. I talk about what I hope LIV becomes, and finish with and health update. We get back talking golf. On this episode I get into my stop at Pinehurst. The mistakes in my game I recognized, and eventually corrected. 

I explain why club chose to and not to over seed, and how the US Open and USGA played a major role in that. 

I start explaining how important Intermediate, as well as other discounted memberships can help a club. I explain how leadership must have everyone's best interest in mind, no matter what their membership category, or age.

I give some advise around the greens, and encourage you to keep it on the ground.

I try yesterday's episode again. No rants...well, maybe a little. I talk about an interview I heard with Tony Finau talking about walk in and set up. I talk about a couple podcasters that are talking themselves into bad golf. I also talk about how the initial effects of the Anti-Depressant being great for my golf game! Let's Gooo!!!

I figured you guys are tired of looking at my ugly mug. I decided to voice over a little practice session. I make a few cut ins with pics to explain what I’m talking about. I get into how difficult the holidays can be for non-golfers, with golfers on thier shopping list. I go Gen X on neon sneakers, and explain how advertising for the NBA Christmas Day games changed what the younger generations wear. I defend the guys from Barstool and Foreplay, kind throw a backhanded compliment close to the end. 😬 I take a walk through PGA Superstore, Golfer’s Warehouse, and Dick’s and do my best to explain how I shop for myself. I talk about how picky I am about my golf gear…pretty sure a lot of you will agree! I finish with an honest thank you to everyone who has stayed on the rollercoaster. After 15 months of medication, I finally realize I wasn't myself. I discuss my thoughts on my medications I'm on. The pros, the cons, and the lack of access to Drs. I'm still not sure if it was me, the medication, or the dose, but I know I haven't been myself. I scratch the surface on the golf ball roll back, and the news cycle of golf. I also talk about what was the long term plan for Almeida Golf, as well as a giant business opportunity for anyone with the money to build a quality range within a reasonable distance from the SouthCoast. Saying setting up a demo day style product as Almeida Golf, was not the long term plan would be an understatement! I get into my personal plan moving forward and the importance of health insurance and Drs. you can count on. There's not many left! Let's Gooo!!!

I talk about the golf ball roll back, and how it will effect golfers. There are so many angles to look at this from. Changing the golf ball will have a effect on driver sales, wedge sales, but more importantly it is giving golfers a negative topic to rant and complain about. "Golf is hard enough" is the general consensus, and people haven't looked at it from any other angle than, "this only hurts me and my scores." It will have an effect golf course maintenance, and bring importance back to short game and creativity. I think their is a lot of good that can come from from a golf ball roll back, but man have they butchered selling it to the golfer! Let's Gooo!!!

The Holidays are here, and we're looking forward to 2024. I are you getting what you want out of your club? Are you making your opinion heard? This is the time of year when guys are deciding here to join, for the first time, or am I happy with my current club.

Are the members being heard at The Annual Meeting, or are the being sold on why they have to accept what's going on.

Are golf projects being done/talked about, and are there committees overseeing the projects so details aren't missed.

Is the deal you're getting on that merch in the shop a good thing, or is dragging dow the financials of a club you have an ownership stake in?

No voting rights, does not mean no ownership.

Too short to call and episode, too long for social media. I'm talking wedges, and how course conditions effect my fitting. I thought it was worth a post, hope you enjoy!

I dive deeper into my fitting with Bob Vokey, and the conversations I've had over the years. I talk a little bit about different types of grass and how over all conditions a golfer plays are considered during a fitting. When you hit it sideway like I do you learn how wedges work, or shoot a million! Let's Gooo!!!

I got this question often when fitting. I've gotten it a few times since starting this podcast. I understand being a single male with no children my opinion on the importance of amenities might differ from yours.

To the most recent golfer moving to a new town, and wanting to know where to join, go play the muni track for a few weeks. The golfers there will tell you whats what. They will know the strengths and weaknesses at all of the area club. Are there golfers there, or a bunch of Brads and Chads who have no respect for the traditions of the game...Time and place!

Here's the list:

-GREENS! Never joining a place that doesn't put the condition and health of their greens FIRST!

-Overall Conditions of the course. Do the members rake bunkers, fix ball marks, go get the divots (NOT JUST GRAB SAND BUCKET!). You can hammer the Superintendent all you want, he can be replaced, the members can't. If you're not doing your part, you're the problem!!!

-LAYOUT thats a personal one (Donald Ross goes to top of the pile!) Not as important to me. I play enough golf at different types of layouts. Give me a decent fun layout, and great grees!

-PRACTICE FACILITIES are not as important to me as some people. I grew up at a club without a range, and there are enough public ranges around I cant get my fix. Short game area is a MUST!

-FOOD is one thing I want something, but it's not really a deal breaker. Most private clubs have food minimus. I understand it is to give the chef a fighting chance. Necessary expense.

-VIBE of the club is important. Are there men's games, recipricals, and are they part of an interclub?

-EXTRAS like pool, tennis, bag storage (TIP!!!), locker rooms, and other amenities are all bonuses, but not deal breakers for me.

Does management and the board act like protectors of the traditions or do they act like they are above the membership?

Are they implementing rules, costs, assessments, to improve the club, or to cater to their clique?

REMEMBER it's your club, if you're not happy, it's your responsibility to question your leaders and make your voice HEARD!!!

I scratch the service on Almeida Golf's 100% purchase rate, and what I would do over. 16:40 It turns completely to golf! I walk you guys through a fitting I had with Bob Vokey a few years back. Titleist flew the best fitter in the country out to train us on their new products. I believe it was an iron year, but we talked about everything in the line. The best parts were being trained by Bob Vokey himself. I was fortunate that my specs caught his interest, and ho took the time to make some changes to my setup. I walk you through checking your own lie angles, as well as some of the best products in the game can appear to be the worst, if you aren't aware of some of their issues. It's been 13 months since Bogey passed, and I'm still not whole. I talk about the rollercoaster of my health. I tell a little about me, and how a friend from the past opens the door to how good I used to be at controlling my temper. I update my plans to head to FL, and an update on how deflating depression can be when considering job opportunities. Let's Gooo!!!

I was sitting around eating breakfast and figured I'd take a minute to answer a few listeners fitting questions. Before I knew it I was 20 minutes in and I had an episode.

I talk about how body type and swing, has more to do with an iron fitting than height.

I use the Fujikura Venus Black, Graphite Design AD Iz, and Aldila Rogue, to show how companies use advertising and descriptions to sell their products. All 3 of the shaft I use claim to do the same thing, but have huge differences in cost and feel.

I get into a swing trainer I love.

I finish with talking about the Barstool Sports "Dave vs Jersey Jerry" match, and how there are some great opportunities to learn about the rules. Sometimes they work to your advantage.

I tell a story about how a player in the Cape Cod Amateur at Hyannisport Club, used the rules to his advantage. He took an unplayable after missing a putt, made the next one, and won the match in extra holes!
