| 276 - Building Brazi Bites with Junea Rocha | 09 Oct 2022 | 00:56:36 | |
Join us this October 13 in San Diego and let’s celebrate 8 years of Cafe con Pam Listeners, we're back this week with Junea Rocha. Junea Rocha is the Co-Founder and CMO of better-for-you, Latin-inspired food brand, Brazi Bites. After graduating from college in Civil Engineering, Junea took a job in construction management in Portland, Oregon, rising through the ranks quickly and hitting a career-high. However, when Junea imagined her future, she knew she would rather take a risk on a career she was passionate about over working in something that was simply just easy for her. With a huge love for her Brazilian homeland and entrepeneruial spirit, Junea set her eyes on achieving something bigger that would take more heart and resilience than any job she ever had. In 2010, along with her husband and Co-Founder, Cameron MacMullin, Junea decided to bring a cherished household staple that was native to her Brazilian roots, “Pão de Queijo,” AKA cheese bread, to the U.S. market without any experience in the food industry. With better-for-you foods in mind, Brazi Bites was founded on the authentic family recipe from Junea’s mother using simple, wholesome, hand-picked ingredients like tapioca flour. In a few short years after taking a giant leap and perfecting the family recipe, Brazi Bites grew into a nationally distributed brand with a cult-like following after appearing on ABC’s Shark Tank and being included twice on the Inc. 5000 list of “America’s Fastest-Growing Private Companies.” Junea has been heavily involved in all areas of the business with a leading role in Sales & Marketing, growing Brazi Bites’ annual revenue from zero to millions and over 15,000 stores. She is also a skilled fundraiser having gone through multiple types of funding over the last decade, from bootstrapping to loans, angel investors, and more. In 2018, the founding duo brought on a private equity investor to help fuel the rapid growth and surge in demand for new innovation, transforming Brazi Bites as a leader in the frozen better-for-you, Latin-inspired food category. Today, Junea remains just as passionate and more excited than ever to continue Brazi Bites’ growth, making its products a household staple in North America. Junea hopes to continue creating joyful moments for families everywhere by producing delicious, easy-to-make, naturally gluten-free foods that also guarantee to spread smiles.

| 271 - Estate Planning with Carmen Rosas | 04 Sep 2022 | 00:58:44 | |
Join us this October 13 in San Diego and let’s celebrate 8 years of Cafe con Pam Listeners, we're back this week with Carmen Rosas. Hoop-wearing, award-winning and stereotype-defying attorney Carmen Rosas is on a mission to help women chase and secure the bag. Drawing on more than 10 years of experience in estate planning, Rosas equips women to protect themselves and their families by protecting their assets. And she’s doing it all in style. A proud mix of Mexican, French, and Italian, Carmen grew up in the Bay Area, fascinated by her grandmother's stories of living in Mexico, arriving in America, and settling in California. Her curiosity of other cultures and the development of languages and communal systems led her to study Anthropology at Santa Clara University. During her sophomore year, she even interned at the Public Defender’s Office-Juvenile Division in Washington D.C. Carmen’s comparison studies of the U.S. legal system and tribal systems in New Zealand, as well as her interest in policy change, led her to law school. Following this inspiration, she grew her legal skills and worked with three prominent Bay Area law firms while also volunteering with the Pro Bono Project of Silicon Valley. Today she is the founder and lead counsel of Carmen Rosas Law where she empowers women to take back control of their money, desires and life. Carmen’s unique approach to estate planning blends personalized, intuitive coaching with trusted legal advice to finally give women, especially Latina women, the chance to be seen and heard by an attorney who looks like them and gets it. Carmen has been featured inThe Huffington Post, Forbes, Be Latina, Create and Cultivate, The Balance, and Modern Latina where she shares her guidance and legal advice with women around the country. When she’s not plotting a new way to help women win, she’s either hiking, gardening, traveling, shopping at local farmer's markets or experiencing new cultures. More than anything, she loves spending her free time with her beautiful daughter.

Join us this October 13 in San Diego and let’s celebrate 8 years of Cafe con Pam Listeners, we're back this week with Jessica Yañez. Latina. Fierce. Fighter. A San Diego native with a laugh as big as her hair. These are just a few things we would use to describe our Founder and Host of The Wine & Chisme Podcast, Jessica Yañez. But that’s just the beginning. Jessica grew up in the suburbs of San Diego and has always had a curiosity for other people and their stories. As far back as she can remember, she would be the first to approach a new student at school, introduce herself, and want to know all about them. Not much has changed as her curiosity has lent itself well to learning more about the world around her. She specifically created The Wine & Chisme Podcast to amplify voices across communities of color and share their stories on career, love, life and more. All while sipping on a glass of wine. She launched the VERY FIRST directory of Latiné owned wine brands based in the United States and has since expanded into hosting virtual wine tastings that specifically focus on these vintner. She believes that people need to know that our community not only works the land, but owns the brands. During this episode we talked about:

Her work is deeply rooted in Indigenous wisdom, medicine, and worldview and her work has had a global impact to evolve the collective consciousness in understanding the need to decolonize our minds, to reclaim our spiritual sovereignty, and to restore balance to our world. While she does decolonial work, that is only part of her work, she serves as a spiritual guide for all people to recover their whole selves, their spiritual gifts, and to remember that we are all peoples of the Earth. Dra. Rocio’s work weaves decolonial teachings, Indigenous Earth medicine, somatic work, energy work, and shadow work. | 237 - You Are Enough To Be In Those Rooms with N. Chloé Nwangwu | 26 Dec 2021 | 01:04:14 | |
Join us this October 13 in San Diego and let’s celebrate 8 years of Cafe con Pam Listeners, we're back this week with N. Chloé Nwangwu. N. Chloé Nwangwu is a Brand Scientist, Digital Diplomacy (like actual diplomacy!) advisor and the founder of NobWorks, an evidence based brand advisory for historically underestimated public figures, leaders and their organizations. She believes brands not built with power dynamics and biases in mind need to be quarantined. Again. It's her personal mission to help historically underestimated leaders reclaim and command the influence they and their work deserve and need in order to have the kind of societal impact they want. Before starting her evidence based brand advisory, Chloé spent four years advising Israeli civil society groups and the local municipality in Tel Aviv, where she also contributed to track two final status peace negotiations. She has consulted on and developed programming around anti-bias and anti-discrimination as an Assistant Director at the Anti-Defamation League and mediated crisis level bias incidents in the aftermath of the 2016 presidential elections. She has an MA in International Conflict Resolution and Mediation from Tel Aviv University where she continued her undergraduate honors research in the modalities of sensory perception, religious experience and intractable conflict. Her other research includes intragroup conflict dynamics and the use of social media in the Arab Spring, which she pursued after living in Cairo in the months leading up to the protests in Tahrir square. Most recently, she advised the first refugee delegation to the UN and the High Ambition Coalition--a coalition of the world's most climate ambitious nations.
