MRS 0 & JANUS ON BDSM14 Jul 202100:57:47
Did you know that around nine per cent of you are into BDSM? And a further 16% are BDSM curious. Clemmie didn't know what to expect going into the recording of this episode with Mrs O and Janus, curator of BDSM Museum - I think I was worried about coming across as a prude or lifting the lid on some dark underbelly. Both of which were way off the mark. In this episode we discuss: The challenge of maintaining your sex life in the early parenting years. Especially when your body doesn’t feel like your own. Why you might be surprised to learn that the foundational principles of BDSM are important and useful for ANY relationship. Why the idea of ‘a window of not having to be in control’ is potentially appealing to many.  How we talk to our children about sex. I also make it very clear that food play is NOT something I am into! It's an upbeat but educational one. More from Guests: For more from Mrs O including her erotic short stories and blog posts about everything from nifty ideas to boost your libido, sexy tips, relationship tales, the social development of sex in the media, mental health articles and advice to sex toy reviews. IMMY LUCAS ON SUSTAINABILITY23 Jun 202101:12:24
This week Clemmie speaks to Immy Lucas about sustainability and conscious living - two topics that tend to be divisive. Some people feel such passion for this way of living, while for others it feels a million miles down their list of priorities. And that's not because they don’t care, but because quite frankly they are busy surviving and making ends meet.  My chat with Immy, who you can find on Instagram @sustainablyvegan, was, for me a really balanced version of this conversation and what we talked about felt actionable and realistic and reflective of the nuance. Find out more about Immy's work here. This episode is sponsored by Rude Health, who I absolutely adore. But why is middle age so freeing for women? This week Clemmie talks to author and journalist Caitlin Moran about Womanhood, specifically about what it is to live in a constant state of evolution. BUT WHY BITESIZE - WAR WITH TABAN SHORESH28 Aug 202300:17:37
This week's But Why bitesize is extraordinary and a little different. In normal circumstances, these mini episodes involve a very complicated edit, but not this week. In this episode Clemmie is looking at war with child genocide survivor Taban Shoresh, who founded Lotus Flower, a non-profit that supports female conflict survivors and refugees in Kurdistan, Iraq. And this shortened episode is simply her first answer. You can find the full episode wherever you get your podcasts. With a political activist father during Saddam Hussein’s regime, Taban was imprisoned with her family aged just four, and they narrowly escaped being buried alive.  After a year dodging bombs and bullets, they were finally flown to the UK by Amnesty to start a new life.  In 2016 decided to give up her successful City of London career and establish Lotus Flower. It now supports women and girls who lost everything at the hands of ISIS, including their homes and loved ones, and who also suffered barbaric crimes such as slavery, rape and torture.
