Superboy... more like SuperD**K or how to kill Bizarro with his own love07 Nov 202201:09:56
"Superboy... more like SuperD**K or how to kill Bizarro with his own love" When a defective duplicating ray created by Professor Dalton strikes Superboy, it creates a grotesque, stupid, imperfect duplicate of the Boy of Steel which nonetheless possesses all of his incredible power. Moreover, it is not affected by Green Kryptonite. Superboy remarks that the creature is "bizarre", to which the creature replies, "Him call me...(mumble)...Bizarro! Is...is that my name?" Bizarro is basically good-hearted, but cannot control his powers very well, and proves dangerous to Smallville. However, he is befriended by a blind girl named Melissa, who senses his benevolent nature. Superboy is unable to defeat Bizarro by conventional means, but finally senses that the metal of the demolished duplicator ray itself can destroy him. Bizarro deliberately flies into the piece of metal Superboy holds, destroying himself, but creating a vibration that restores Melissa's sight. Superboy muses that Bizarro may well have understood what effect his destruction would have on Melissa's eyes and, as the Boy of Steel flies away, he hears Melissa say "I never saw Bizarro myself, while blind! But I know, from his gentle voice, that he must have had a kind face!" Strange Tales From The Crypt31 Oct 202200:52:16
Tales from the Crypt was an American bi-monthly horror comic anthology series published by EC Comics from 1950 to 1955, producing 27 issues (the first issue with the title was #20, previously having been International Comics (#1–#5); International Crime Patrol (#6); Crime Patrol (#7–#16) and The Crypt of Terror (#17–#19) for a total of 46 issues in the series). Along with its sister titles, The Haunt of Fear and The Vault of Horror, Tales from the Crypt was popular, but in the late 1940s and early 1950s comic books came under attack from parents, clergymen, schoolteachers and others who believed the books contributed to illiteracy and juvenile delinquency. In April and June 1954, highly publicized congressional subcommittee hearings on the effects of comic books upon children left the industry shaken. With the subsequent imposition of a highly restrictive Comics Code, EC Comics publisher Bill Gaines cancelled Tales from the Crypt and its two companion horror titles, along with the company's remaining crime and science fiction series in September 1954. Since their demise, all EC Comics titles have been reprinted at various times. Stories from the horror series have been adapted into other media, including a 1972 film and a television series that aired on HBO from 1989 to 1996. The later spawned two films—Demon Knight (1995) and Bordello of Blood (1996)—as well as a children's animated series, a game show, and a radio series. Learn more about your ad choices. Man of War - Created to Help the Nazis...but Whoops!17 Oct 202201:13:23
Mars, the God of War, was so admiring of the German efforts during World War II that he created a being to work for them. Unfortunately for the Germans, Mars miscalculated the rotation of the Earth, so when Man of War came to life in Dayton, Ohio. Infused with American values, the Man of War rejected his "father's" ways and set out to fight the Nazis at home and abroad. Man of War had super-human strength and heightened resistance to damage. He used the Flaming Sword of Mars, a magical weapon that was capable of cutting through anything. In Man of War #1, it was revealed that Man of War's powers derived from the planets, and that trapping him in a lead chamber can block some sort of planetary "rays" and render him powerless. Of course, as long as he still had his sword, no chamber could hold him for long. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

In each episode, Zach breaks down a comic book character to an unsuspecting Mike. From the intriguing to the absurd, This show takes a deep dive into what makes comics great. Learn a thing or two or just stay for the ridiculousness. In this issue: The Walrus is a comedic supervillain appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. He is the enemy of Spider-Man and Frog-Man. Despite being physically strong, he proves to be completely inept at villainy. While most supervillains are interested in stealing money or taking over the world, the Walrus was content with mindless property damage. He considered his role as a supervillain as that of a "mass-destructionist". The man who would eventually become the Walrus was once a taxicab driver named Hubert Carpenter (a reference to "The Walrus and the Carpenter" poem from Through the Looking-Glass). Hubert's uncle Humbert (a mad scientist/eccentric janitor) used devious experimental technology to endow Hubert with the attributes that would surely make him an eminent supervillain. Hubert, now with the "proportionate speed, strength, and agility of a walrus", started causing havoc. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
