Welcome to Box of Scraps. A Marvel Studios History podcast.
Box of Scraps is a fully researched chronicle of Marvel Studios. Each episode, we talk about the production history of each film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe; who made it, how it was made, and why? In this show, we reject the mythologising that has endured in the hope of demystifying the films from one of the most opaque studios in Hollywood.
All in service of gaining a deeper understanding of how it became the most successful franchise in movie history, and why it feels like itâs lost its way.
From Iron Man, to Guardians of the Galaxy, to (eventually) Avengers Doomsday, Box of Scraps is a fully sourced and cited series that will paint an accurate and unapologetic picture of exactly how Marvel Studios changed blockbuster films forever.
Box of Scraps is brought to you by MiniMap, an independent games outlet. Head to MiniMap.com.au for everything else we do. Box of Scraps is written by Jeremy Bratetich, and hosted by Jeremy Bratetich and Kerry Palmer. Artwork by Ruby Innes.

Episode 2
lundi 28 avril 2025 ⢠Duration 03:52:34
Welcome to the first actual episode of Box of Scraps. In this episode, we take a brief look at the previous attempts to adapt the Iron Avenger on film, how Robert Downey Jr. was almost NOT Tony Stark, and how the Marvel Cinematic Universe began.
We also get into the nitty-gritty about the mythologising around the claim of âIron Man had no script,' (Spoilers: It did, and Iâve read it), and briefly touch on how the franchise - and our namesake - was assembled with nothing but a box of scraps (and $500m from Merrill Lynch).
Join us on this wild ride, wonât you? If you haven't listened to episode #0, we highly recommend listening to it, as it provides tons of backstory about how Marvel Studios was founded. Plus it's got some great stories :)
