The Enchanter Within: Wielding the Wand of Will on the May New Moon26 May 202500:38:02

Send us a text

The power to transform reality lies in your words. This profound truth emerges as we explore the Enchanter card from the Forest of Enchantment Tarot—an archetype revealing the ancient magical practice where spells were cast through the intentional use of voice.

Discover how the etymology of "enchanter"—meaning "to sing upon" or "chant over something"—teaches us about being impeccable with our speech. When we craft our words thoughtfully rather than carelessly, we literally cast spells that shape our experience and impact those around us. This wisdom appears across cultures throughout history, from shamanic traditions to medieval folklore.

The Enchanter (corresponding to the Magician in traditional tarot) depicts an elderly sage conjuring elemental forces between his hands—the very essence of creation itself. This powerful symbol represents our innate ability to manifest our desires through focused will, blending practicality with imagination. Yet true manifestation isn't about controlling reality through wishful thinking, but recognizing where we have genuine influence and directing our energy accordingly.

Practical ways to align with this energy include creating ritual spaces, practicing mindful presence, connecting with elemental forces in nature, and keeping intention journals. These practices help us become conscious creators of our experience without falling into spiritual bypassing or emotional avoidance.

Perhaps most relevant is how the Enchanter holds space for life's full spectrum—both joy and suffering. Our spiritual practices shouldn't serve as escape mechanisms but as tools to examine life more closely. Sometimes our magic is simply bearing witness when transformation requires time and patience.

What words are you speaking over your life? How might becoming more intentional with your speech transform your reality? Remember that true enchantment lies in blending spiritual awareness with aligned action, transforming what we can while accepting what we cannot change.

The Gardener and the Garden: The Sacred Art of Intuitive Tending12 May 202500:26:34

Send us a text

Have you ever considered that you are simultaneously cultivating your life and being cultivated by it? This episode delves into a powerful metaphor that transforms how we approach personal growth and spiritual development – the sacred art of being both the gardener and the garden.

As the gardener, we claim agency by cultivating fertile conditions, planting intentional seeds, weeding consistently, pruning with purpose, and watering faithfully. Yet simultaneously, we are the garden itself – learning receptivity, honoring natural timing, welcoming all weather (even the challenging seasons), accepting imperfection, and trusting the unseen processes happening beneath the surface. This paradox offers profound wisdom about patience, self-compassion, and alignment with natural cycles.

The metaphor extends beyond individual growth to our relationship with the living world around us. For thousands of years, humans maintained reciprocal relationships with nature characterized by gratitude and balanced exchange. Indigenous wisdom, beautifully articulated by botanist Robin Wall Kimmerer, reminds us that true knowing combines intellectual understanding with intuitive wisdom – creating a bridge between our inner landscape and the outer world.

I share practical ways to embody this wisdom through morning intentions, evening reflections, mindful pauses, seasonal rituals, and community connections. The greatest insight lies in discerning when to act and when to allow, when to shape and when to surrender. Perhaps most comforting is the reminder that "we are all gardens in various stages of bloom, growing precisely as we should, at exactly the pace we need."

What part of your garden needs tending today, and what part is ready to unfurl in its perfect timing? Share your thoughts or connect with me at bloomingwand.com – I'd love to hear how this resonates with your journey.

September 17th Full Moon Intention and Affirmation: Finding Your True North16 Sep 202400:23:34

Send us a text

The full moon is upon us, so it’s time for a new tarot curated intention and affirmation. This moon cycle I used my Smith Waite tarot deck, and we pulled The Star, Judgement, and the Knight of Wands.

Be sure to have a look at the cards to see what they awaken in you, let’s dive in.

Intention: After a stormy period, a self-review is in order. What did you learn, what worked well, what didn’t? How can you use challenging times to get to know yourself better?

Affirmation: My inner light is my guiding light.

The Star symbolizes hope, inspiration, and spiritual connection. It often represents a period of healing and renewal. It’s also an indication that you’re on the right path, even if the way forward isn’t quite clear to you.

I’d like to point out that during the last moony cycle we pulled The Tower, and in the tarot The Star is the card that immediately follows the tower. To me, this means that we’ve been through some challenges, and now is the time to consider how we might move forward after taking some time to renew, reflect, and reorient.

September 2nd New Moon Intention and Affirmation: Embracing Self Leadership02 Sep 202400:32:10

Send us a text

The new moon is upon us, so you guessed it, I have a new tarot curated intention and affirmation for us to work with. This moon cycle I used my Smith Waite tarot deck, and we pulled the Queen of Cups, The Tower, and the King of Wands. Be sure to have a look at the cards to see what they awaken in you. Let’s dive in!

Intention: Have you ever felt empowered and confident only to become riddled with a sense of inner conflict?

Sometimes we feel a pressure to perform, achieve, and accomplish. We know we have the skill and ability to do the things we want to do, but inner conflict undermines our sense of surety. A sense of mounting pressure rises, and we know if we don’t sit with the parts of ourselves that are in conflict we’ll have a meltdown.

Affirmation: I can hold space for opposing needs and desires.

Be sure to have a look at the cards to see what they awaken in you let’s dive in.

Intention: There’s no shortage of opportunities to transform, build, and nurture our vision for the future. This moon cycle let’s patiently cultivate the fertile ground of dreams by releasing what doesn’t align with our intentions, knowing that doing so establishes a strong foundation for the future.

Affirmation: I am a vessel of creativity, empowered to cultivate my deepest desires.

The full moon is upon us, so I have a new tarot curated intention and affirmation for us to work with. This moon cycle I used the Wild Unknown Tarot, and we pulled the Four of Wands, the Daughter of Wands (aka Page of Wands), and The Hermit. Be sure to have a look at the cards to see what they awaken in you, let’s dive in.

  • Intention: Time spent in quiet reflection allows for internal processing and integrating experiences. It creates sacred space where we can identify what’s working for us and what needs adjusting. That knowledge can then transform and inform our perspective moving forward.
  • Affirmation: I prioritize quiet reflection so I can commune with my inner flame.
  • A theme that immediately comes to mind when I look at these archetypes is the concept of the inner flame. This is a topic I love, and I’ll loop back to it shortly, but for now, let’s explore the cards one by one.

The new moon is here so I have a new tarot curated intention and affirmation for us to work with. This moon cycle I used the Vintage Wisdom Oracle deck and the Smith/Waite tarot, and we pulled the King of Wands, Intention, and the Knight of Swords. Be sure to have a look at the cards to see what they awaken in you, let’s dive in.

Intention: Depending on what’s going on in our lives, taking mindful action can be tough. In times of crisis, stress, or challenge we may feel the need to take immediate, and well-intended, action. While there are certainly moments where swift responses are needed, I’ve found that taking a moment to reflect is wise.

  • A tool that’s been helpful for me is working with intention. I’m always refining my intentions but mostly they are to be kind, honest, authentic, loving, honor nature and the earth, etc. When I’m finding mindful action difficult, I stop and look to my intentions. Is my desired action in alignment?
  • With that said, you know what? Every time I think about intentions, those quotes about how good intentions pave the way to hell always come to mind. I did a quick internet search and sure enough, there are quite a few quotes from well-known writers talking about the dangers of good intentions.

Affirmation: I hone my intentions often to ensure they are aligned with core values and minimize harm to self and others.

This moon cycle I used the Wildwood Tarot deck, and we pulled The King of Arrows, The Page of Arrows, and the Green Woman. Be sure to have a look at the cards to see what they awaken in you, let’s dive in.

Intention: When was the last time you thought about what was truly important to you? The practice of zeroing in on essentials enhances our awareness and shows us where we can lean in or let go. It involves peeling back layers to uncover the values, relationships, and aspirations that truly resonate with our core being.

Affirmation: My intuition guides my understanding of what is essential and aligned with my deepest values and aspirations.

Full Moon Magic: The Patient Seeker's Journey 11 Apr 202500:13:34

Send us a text

The April full moon invites us to embrace the slow, methodical energy of growth through the Seeker of Boons tarot card. This Knight of Pentacles archetype reminds us that valuable discoveries come not from hasty action but from careful observation and consistent effort.

• Intention for this moon cycle: honoring the deliberate pace of growth through daily mindful steps

• The Seeker of Boons card (Knight of Pentacles) symbolizes patience, purpose, and finding treasure through slow growth

• Scientific research shows green improves creativity by up to 20% after just two seconds of exposure

• Green combines the mental clarity of yellow with the emotional calm of blue, creating both nurturing and activating properties

• Green represents the heart chakra, connecting us to earth energy, plant wisdom, and the regenerative power of nature

• Practical ways to work with green energy: placing green items on your altar, wearing green, and spending time in nature

• Consistency matters more than speed - "Nature doesn't rush, yet somehow everything gets done"

I'd love to hear how working with green affects your spiritual practice this lunar cycle! Drop a comment, email me at emily@bloomingwand.com, or sign up for my newsletter at bloomingwand.com to stay connected.

October 28th Full Moon Intention & Affirmation23 Oct 202300:11:14

Send us a text

The full moon is here so I have new tarot curated intention and affirmation for us to work with. This moon cycle I used the Vintage Wisdom Oracle deck and the Star Seeker tarot, and we pulled Nature, The Emperor, and The Ace of Cups. Be sure to look at the cards to see what they awaken in you, let’s dive in.

  • Intention: Incorporating nature into self-care practices is beneficial for many reasons. More and more these benefits are being backed by not only anecdotal evidence, but science as well. This moon cycle let’s explore how nature nurtures us. Perhaps in doing so we can rekindle a desire to nurture nature in return.
  • Affirmation: Nature nurtures me, and I nurture nature in return.

Spending time in nature has been shown to reduce stress levels. The sights, sounds, and smells of the natural world prompts a relaxation response in the brain, leading to decreased cortisol levels and a sense of calm. But it doesn’t stop there.

Intention: Fear and hardship are two things we’ve all faced. Take a moment to reflect on times you’ve encountered each. How did you respond? What worked well? What didn’t? What would it look like to address fear, challenge, and hardship with confidence?

Affirmation: All is well, all will be well.

Over the years, I’ve discovered that challenges and failures (perceived or otherwise) are opportunities to learn and grow. I can see that much of my personal development is the result of encountering opposition and struggle. None the less, I often find embracing change difficult. Here are a few things I’ve found helpful.

September 29th Full Moon Intention and Affirmation26 Sep 202300:25:58

The full moon is here so I have a new tarot curated intention and affirmation for us to work with. I used the Wild Unknown Tarot deck, and we pulled the Son of Pentacles, the Seven of Swords, and the Wheel of Fortune. Let’s dive in!

Intention: It’s always nice when our instincts are clear and we feel a strong yes or no, but what about times you feel a mix of both? Let’s say twenty percent of you says no, and the other eighty percent says yes. What about times when its fifty-fifty and you’re presented with a stalemate? While I love the clarity of a clear yes or no, I’m beginning to see value in circumstances that awaken uncertainty. When I take a broad view, I see that uncertainty is a sign of inner conflict, and inner conflict, with time and tending, can transition to inner dialogue.

Affirmation: I’m capable of making decisions and seizing opportunities even when I feel some uncertainty.

The new moon is here so I have a new tarot curated intention and affirmation for us to work with. I used the Modern Witch Tarot, and we pulled the Eight of Swords, the Knight of Cups, and the King of Wands. Be sure to have a look at the cards to see what they inspire in you. Let’s dive in!

Intention: Sometimes we get constrained by plans. We tell ourselves we must stick with them, just to stick with them, and we forget the “why” behind the journey, the decision, or the goal. At times like this it’s helpful to remember that our motivations and desires are like a rudder on a boat, they steer the way. Periodically checking in with each gives us the opportunity to adjust as needed.

Affirmation: My path is not laid before me; it is made by walking.

August 30th Full Moon Intention & Affirmation24 Aug 202300:14:08

The full moon is here so I have a new tarot curated intention and affirmation for us to work with. My mom requested that I use a more traditional deck this moon cycle, so I pulled out my tried-and-true Smith/Waite cards and we pulled the Page of Wands, the Ten of Swords, and the Six of Wands. Be sure to have a look at the cards at bloomingwand.com. Let’s dive in!

Intention: Trying new things, either for fun or for personal or professional enrichment is one way we learn and grow. Over thinking and planning, though common and relatable behaviors, don’t promote growth or clarity. It’s the doing, the action, and the stepping into the unknown that expands awareness and illuminates our path. A natural consequence of doing is learning.

Affirmation: Trying new things awakens a part of me that I’d like to get to know, no matter what expression it wears.

Spiritual Practices for Dark Times: Building Resilience Through Simplicity08 Apr 202500:29:07

Send us a text

Spiritual practices don't eliminate hardship but can cultivate resilience, helping us develop the capacity to recover from difficulty rather than avoid it. Simple, accessible techniques can create physiological shifts that interrupt anxiety spirals and build emotional flexibility.

• Minute breathing - placing a hand on your heart and taking one deep breath activates the parasympathetic nervous system

• Compassionate touch - acknowledging emotions by placing your hand where you feel them in your body and saying "I see you"

• Grounding connection - spending just 30 seconds outside connecting with nature to experience perspective and awe

• Consistency matters more than intensity - a one-minute practice you actually do is more valuable than an hour-long practice that feels overwhelming

• These practices strengthen intuition by creating space between analytical thinking and deeper knowing

• Resilience comes from acknowledging difficult feelings rather than powering through them
