It’s the forty-fifth episode of On The List with Brett Gursky. This week’s guest Geoff Stults (“Unforgettable”) talks all about his career as an actor. He was born in Michigan and raised in Colorado, before making the move to California to play college football. When his older brother George got discovered for acting, Geoff went along for the ride. His first role was on “Everybody Loves Raymond”, followed by a recurring role on MTV’s “Undressed”. From there, he joined the cast of the hit show “7th Heaven”, playing TV brothers with his real-life brother. Then his first leading role in a movie was “D.E.B.S.”, starring Sara Foster, Jordana Brewster, Megan Good, and Devon Aoki. He followed that up with memorable parts in two hit comedies: “Wedding Crashers” with Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdams, and Bradley Cooper and “The Break-Up” with Vaughn again and Jennifer Aniston. He then went back to his roots and played a football player in the movie “The Express”, a bio-pic about Ernie Davis. Soon he was starring on the ABC series “October Road” opposite Bryan Greenberg and Laura Prepon, which then led to his own series “Happy Town” from the same creators- Scott Rosenberg, Josh Applebaum, and Andre Nemec. Geoff next starred in the comedy feature “She’s Out Of My League” playing “Cam”, the boyfriend of Alice Eve’s “Molly”, who is the object of Jay Baruchel’s affection. He then worked for director Clint Eastwood in the film “J. Edgar” starring Leonardo DiCaprio, where Geoff played the role of real-life FBI agent Raymond Caffrey. He also played the character “Walter Sherman” (which is now the name of his dog) on the hit Fox series “Bones”, which led to his own spin-off for the character called “The Finder”. On his next show “Enlisted”, he starred opposite Parker Young and Chris Lowell as three brothers enlisted into the army. Now he appears on both “The Odd Couple” on CBS with Matthew Perry and Thomas Lennon and “Grace and Frankie” and Netflix with Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, playing husband to Brooklyn Decker. His new movie “Unforgettable”, Geoff is fought over by Katherine Heigl and Rosario Dawson. It hits theaters April 21st. And next up, Geoff stars in “Granite Mountain”, the true story of the crew of men who battled a wildfire in Arizona in 2013, with co-stars who include Jeff Bridges, Josh Brolin, Jennifer Connelly, Miles Teller, Taylor Kitsch, James Badge Dale, and Andie MacDowell. It’s the forty-first episode of On The List with Brett Gursky. For this week’s episode, Brett catches up with Glen Powell to talk about his favorite roles, celebrity game nights, becoming an uncle, and receiving dating advice from Kevin Costner. It all began in his hometown of Austin, Texas when Glen Powell scored roles in two major films: Fast Food Nation directed by Richard Linklater and The Great Debaters directed by Denzel Washington. Soon after, Washington teamed up with Powell’s agent, Ed Limato, to convince the actor to pack up and head to LA to pursue a full-time career in the industry. In 2012, Powell joined the cast of Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises. Two years later, he landed a part in Expendables 3 opposite Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Harrison Ford, and Mel Gibson— a career-making role he scored by making a tape and drafting a personal letter to Stallone. Earlier this year, Glen joined forces with Linklater again for Everybody Wants Some—a critically-acclaimed performance that Variety called one of the “14 Best Performances of 2016 So Far”. And just this fall, Glen joined the cast of Fox’s Scream Queens where he got close with co-stars John Stamos and Alan Thicke, who unexpectedly passed away last week at 69. Powell’s latest work in Hidden Figures sees the actor opposite Octavia Spencer and Taraji P. Henson as role of astronaut John Glenn—the first American to ever orbit the Earth in 1962. Glenn passed away last week at the age of 95, just days shy of the film’s premiere. That same week, Glen and the cast of Hidden Figures were nominated for Best Ensemble at the SAG Awards. Next up: Glen is co-writing the movie Captain Planet, which will be produced by Leonardo DiCaprio. Hidden Figures will be released in select theaters on Christmas Day and everywhere on January 6th.

He also talks about how the documentary came to be and how his life has changed as a result of it. This week’s guest Jeff Wadlow joins Brett to talk all about his directing career and his new movie “Kick-Ass 2”. Jeff gives Brett the inside scoop on how he landed the job writing and directing the sequel, where he came up with the idea for the script, and what it was like to work with the cast, including Chloe Grace Moretz, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, & Jim Carrey. Then Brett and Jeff take a trip down memory lane, reminiscing about how they met in 1997 when Jeff was Brett’s camp counselor at Summer Discovery UCLA. They talk about how Brett interned on Jeff’s first movie “Cry Wolf” in 2003, which Jeff got to direct after winning the Chrysler Million Dollar Film Festival. Jeff discusses his experience making that movie, which filmed in his home state of Virginia and starred Julian Morris, Lindy Booth, Jared Padalecki, & Jon Bon Jovi. Then Jeff shares stories from his second movie, 2008’s “Never Back Down”, which starred Sean Faris, Amber Heard, Cam Gigandet, & Djimon Hounsou. Jeff also talks about his role as a writer and consulting producer on the hit A&E series “Bates Motel”. First, Richard and Brett discuss his brand new autobiography “Stories To Tell”, as well as the soundtrack that goes along with it. Then Brett- who’s been a Richard Marx fan since he was 7 years old- tells Richard about the impact his music has had on his life. John also shares stories from his childhood, growing up with his father William Asher, a television legend, who directed over 100 episodes of “I Love Lucy”, created and directed “Bewitched”, and also worked on other classic shows like “Gidget”, “Patty Duke”, “Marcus Welby M.D.”, “Alice”, and “The Dukes of Hazzard”. John discusses his own acting career, which included a starring role on the TV series “Weird Science”, and his own directing career, which included “Diamonds” starring Kirk Douglas, Lauren Bacall, Dan Aykroyd, and Jenny McCarthy. He also talks about his movie “Dirty Love”, which he directed and Jenny McCarthy wrote, and how he and Jenny got married and had their son, Evan.

Brett’s second guest Mikey Roe joins him in the studio to talk about his new show on the Travel Channel, “Feed the Beast”, which premiered last week. He shares behind-the-scenes stories about traveling the country to different cities and finding the best late-night eats. He also discusses his films “Anacondas” and “Running Scared” with Paul Walker, his role on “The O.C.”, his own FOX series “Killer Instinct”, and his arc on the hit CBS show “Cold Case”, which is how he & Kathryn met.

For the final hour of the episode, Brett and Johnny are joined by Mario Mendias, the creator and founder of My Fit Foods (“Eat Fit, Live Fit”). Brett and Johnny have both been on the meal plan program for the last two months and highly recommend it. They talk to Mario about everything you could ever want to know about My Fit Foods, which provides pre-cooked, gluten-free, healthy meals and snacks. Mario shares the story of how he started the company in his apartment kitchen in Texas and turned it into 75 stores across the country, and he reveals where the next stores will be opening soon.
