Beyond that, Utah is also proposing to make scopes on muzzleloaders illegal during muzzleloader hunts, which is also discussed. The changes to some general mule deer units in the southern region include shortened season dates, four-point or better antler restrictions, and making some units restricted weapons only, meaning hunters could only use recurve/longbows, flintlock/percussion cap muzzleloaders, and rifles with open sights only.
