In fact, they also live in some of the same areas and even compete with each other for food (to the detriment of one of them). Continuing down the same general line of thought from last week's comparison of the 223 vs 308, I realize some people want something that offers a step up in performance compared to the 223/5.56 without going all the way up to the 308. For that reason, a number of other cartridges have been developed over the years that improve on the 223 in many ways, but still function in a standard AR-15 platform. Well, the 6.5 Grendel is likely the most popular cartridge from that family at this instant.
