Meanwhile, Fina's father and the parents of nearly everybody else in her class is working in the U.S. Capitol on January 6th to certify the election results. News of the insurrection reaches Fina and her classmates in the middle of a geography lesson. Fina's father, Congressman Arturo Mendoza, arrives home safe and sound and tries to explain why people were angry, comparing it to the anger Fina herself felt when her beloved Dodgers discovered that the Houston Astros were cheating by stealing pitching signs.

In class the next day, students discuss the events of January 6th and also the mysterious pizza delivery. They talk about the role of losing in a democracy, how John Adams was angry that he lost his election, and how he stayed angry for many years with the man who won, Thomas Jefferson.

Fina solves the pizza mystery with the help of her clarinet-playing sister Gabby and the congressional dog she walks named Senator Something. Fina also suggests that 4th graders can be gracious losers by writing letters to the 5th grade, the way Adams and Jefferson did, becoming perhaps not friends, but at least opening a door to reconciliation.

Mr. Eric gets a little help from Alabaster, Abacus, and Cleocatra as he runs you through a story activity. This is a great activity to try with friends and even grownups!

You see, Ionesco likes to talk, he talks a lot, too much, repeating and saying the same things over and over again, dislocating language in order to create absurd silly stories. The Buttons & Figs kids on this episode wrote some really crazy, absurd stories after they heard about the way Ionesco liked to write. Yarrow Mamout was an unusual man in early America, but the black business leader's story was literally buried by buildings near Washington DC. In the 2000s, his story came to light.

Also, the Los Angeles communities of La Loma, Palo Verde, and Bishop were often grouped together under the name Chavez Ravine. The people of these communities were uprooted, and now Dodger stadium stands where they once lived.

Macho Supreme is the toughest Space Marine in the whole Imagine Neighborhood. In this episode, he's getting ready for the Space Marines Annual Smelling Bee! But there's just one problem: Macho is full of worries. And when Macho's worries get out of control, they become worrywarts that get bigger and bigger! Macho needs Scotty's help to calm down, talk about his worries, and prepare for the things he's worried about—before the worrywarts turn into a worrycane that blows away his chance to win the Smelling Bee!

Sometimes we worry about everything at once—even the things we can't change. But it's important to calm down and talk about our worries. Otherwise, our worries might turn us into a worrycane! And then we won't even be able to help fix the things we can change. 

Fina Mendoza, the daughter of a congressman, is assigned a Genius Project that lets students pick the topic they'd like to research and present to the class. Since it's an election year and Fina's father is back in California campaigning for re-election, Fina decides to research voting. Specifically, letting kids younger than 18 cast a ballot.

Real-life Congressman Mark Takano of Riverside, California zooms  with the class to answer questions about youth voting. 

There is also a mystery to be solved: who broke into their classroom, ransacking the backpacks and rifling the teacher's desk. Fina consults with her detecting partner, a giant orange dog named Senator Something, and talks her sister into accompanying her on a field trip to see if her hunch about the culprit is correct.
