| Not Your Newspaper Horoscope: Vedic Astrology is More Than Your Sun Sign | 15 Oct 2026 | 00:46:56 | |
What if astrology were less about predicting your future and more about understanding the deeper patterns shaping your life? Vish came to Vedic astrology as a skeptic. Trained as an engineer and grounded in data, he had little patience for newspaper horoscopes or broad personality descriptions. That began to change when he started using Jyotish alongside Ayurveda and leadership coaching and repeatedly saw something more precise emerge. Jyotish translates to the light of consciousness. Its purpose is not simply to tell us who we are. It asks what the soul is working through, what karma is active, and where there may still be room to respond differently. A Vedic birth chart becomes less like a label and more like a map. Some patterns may be deeply fixed. Others may be softened or redirected through conscious action, spiritual practice, mantra, ritual, meditation, lifestyle, and remedies connected to planetary energies. The deeper value of the system is not fear or fatalism. It is agency. The chart may reveal where the terrain is difficult. But the point is not to surrender to it. The point is to see more clearly where grace is needed, where action is possible, and where conscious participation can change the way the journey unfolds. Points of Light:

In this Drops of Light, Vish looks at the current Vedic astrology forecast and the tension between anger, wisdom, and diplomacy. | Karma isn’t Punishment: What Vedic Astrology says about Karma, Free Will, and the Patterns We Repeat | 01 Oct 2026 | 00:41:59
What if karma is not a cosmic punishment system, but a curriculum? Vedic astrology approaches karma less like a courtroom and more like an accounting system. Every action carries a consequence, every pattern tells us something, and every lifetime presents a particular set of lessons. Vish explores how Jyotish, the Vedic science of illuminating the soul, helps us recognize the karmic terrain we are moving through and distinguish between what must be experienced and what may still be changed. That distinction matters. Some karma is deeply fixed. Some requires sustained effort. Some can shift through relatively small changes in awareness and action. The Yoga Sutras offer a guiding principle: avoid the suffering that is yet to come. Spiritual practice, meditation, service, conscious choices, and traditional remedies become ways of participating in that process rather than simply enduring it. The recurring relationship, the difficult family dynamic, the blocked area of life, or even the way we exchange value at work can become information. Perhaps the deeper invitation of karma is not to ask, “Why is this happening to me?” but to become curious about what life is asking us to understand, metabolize, rebalance, and eventually move beyond. | Drops of Light: Honoring the Ancestors Who Came Before Us | 24 Sep 2026 | 00:09:10
What do we carry from the people who came before us? In this Drops of Light, Vish explores the Vedic tradition of honoring ancestors during the fortnight known as Pitri Paksha, a time for remembrance, offerings, and reflection on the patterns that move through a family lineage. He shares a simple ancestral ritual as a way to honor those who have passed and acknowledge the connection between past and present. | Drops of Light: AI, Pessimism, and the Choice to Hope | 18 Sep 2026 | 00:07:04
It is easy to encounter frightening headlines about AI and assume the worst about where the future is heading. In this Drops of Light, Vish reflects on our tendency to give more attention to bad news and considers what changes when we make room for hope alongside legitimate concern. Rather than seeing ourselves as powerless observers, he invites us to remember the personal and collective agency we still have in shaping what comes next. | AI Can’t Meditate for You; AI & Consciousness | 10 Sep 2026 | 00:42:21
What happens when artificial intelligence becomes capable of doing more for us, but the most important work of being human still cannot be delegated? After returning from an AI and consciousness retreat at a yoga ashram in Germany, Vish considers this rapidly changing technology through the lens of Vedic wisdom. The question is not simply whether AI is good or bad. It is whether the way we use it moves us toward greater consciousness or further away from it. At the center of that inquiry is Viveka, the Sanskrit concept of discernment. As generated information becomes more convincing and technology increasingly influences what we see, think, and choose, Vish suggests that spiritual practice becomes more relevant, not less. Meditation, pranayama, yoga, and contemplation strengthen the inner awareness needed to recognize what supports us and what pulls us away from ourselves. The same question extends to Dharma. Does the technology support the deeper purpose of your life, or does it create greater distraction, dependency, and suffering? AI may search, organize, teach, automate, and create space. But it cannot meditate for us. It cannot pray for us. It cannot live our Dharma. Perhaps that is the deeper invitation. Use technology to quiet the clutter, while remembering that consciousness itself remains our responsibility. Points of Light:

| When Career Success Feels Empty: The Four Aims of Life in Vedic Astrology | 06 Aug 2026 | 00:49:37 | |
What happens when the future you spent decades building finally arrives, only to ask you to become less of yourself? Purpose is often treated like a hidden sentence we must uncover. Find the right career, name the perfect calling, and everything will fall into place. But that expectation can turn an intimate human question into another performance problem. It can also make a successful life feel like evidence of failure when fulfillment does not follow achievement. This reflection offers a broader perspective through the Vedic aims of life: dharma, artha, kama, and moksha. Financial stability matters. Joy matters. The body, family, society, and spiritual life matter. Inner calling matters too, but it does not exist apart from everything that sustains it. A painful corporate turning point reveals the difference between reaching the next level and remaining aligned with one’s nature. Yet leaving the company does not produce an immediate, perfect answer. The deeper path emerges gradually through mentors, disappointments, repeated patterns, and the work that makes time seem to disappear. Perhaps purpose is not something we solve once. It may be something we learn to notice. The question becomes less about finding one ideal profession and more about recognizing the clues that have been quietly following us all along. | Sign, Sign, Everywhere a Sign: Interpreting the Wisdom of the Universe | 02 Jul 2026 | 00:39:20
Every journey begins with a moment that asks us to trust something we cannot yet explain. In this inaugural episode of Bending the Light, Vish shares the unexpected story behind the podcast itself. As he reflects on turning fifty, an encounter with a stranger in a mountain café becomes the catalyst for exploring intuition, synchronicity, and the quiet ways life invites us toward our next chapter. Drawing from the Desiderata, Vedic astrology, yoga, and decades of spiritual practice, he considers how slowing down allows us to recognize meaning where we might otherwise see coincidence. Rather than asking us to believe in signs, Vish offers a gentler invitation. What changes when we become more attentive to the patterns, people, and experiences already surrounding us? Ancient wisdom is presented not as an escape from modern life, but as a way of seeing it more clearly. At its heart, this opening conversation reminds us that life may be speaking far more often than we realize. The question is not whether the signs are there. The question is whether we have slowed down enough to notice them. Points of Light:
