First they won the 1st Annual Made for KC Cookoff that awarded them a one year pitmaster residency at Kansas City’s new airport terminal. Just to show it was no fluke, they turned around and not only were invited to the famous Jack Daniels competition, they finished first in pork. What’s next for these two? It's never been done before! Our guest this week just won BOTH major events (Invitational and Open) at the 2022 American Royal World Series of BBQ. No one saw him coming - it was his first ever American Royal. An Executive Chef out of the Chicago area, Grant Basiliere did the impossible by first defeating over 200 other teams in the Invitational Competition and then again, the next day, ended up on top of over 500 other teams in the Open Competition.
