First they won the 1st Annual Made for KC Cookoff that awarded them a one year pitmaster residency at Kansas City’s new airport terminal. Just to show it was no fluke, they turned around and not only were invited to the famous Jack Daniels competition, they finished first in pork. What’s next for these two? How about an elaborate launch of their own YouTube Channel dedicated to raising YOUR game on the grill, in the smoker, in the kitchen AND behind the bar!?!

Chef fell in love with the Santa Maria-style of grilling and the live fire proved to be fun for him, the unharnessed, spontaneous flame, the drama fueling his obsession with wood-fired everything. This has become his unintentional trademark, a signature style that is on full display across his portfolio of restaurants, which to date include Trust, Fort Oak, Rare Society, Cardellino, Mr. Trustee, and The Wise Ox. Brad will talk a little about his Sinatra’s Rat Pack inspired Rare Society as well as a Thanksgiving turkey alternative with a Pork Crown Roast.  Dave and Andy will get into some creative BBQ side dishes.

We've had many American Royal winners on the show before, but not like this guy.
It's never been done before! Our guest this week just won BOTH major events (Invitational and Open) at the 2022 American Royal World Series of BBQ. No one saw him coming - it was his first ever American Royal. An Executive Chef out of the Chicago area, Grant Basiliere did the impossible by first defeating over 200 other teams in the Invitational Competition and then again, the next day, ended up on top of over 500 other teams in the Open Competition.
