Barks & Biomes is a short, science‑based podcast about how food and environments shape health – in animals and, sometimes, in us – from dog bowls to ecosystems. Hosted by Helen, an Animal Science student with a passion for species‑specific diets, individual needs, zoology, rescue work, wildlife, microbiomes, holistic health, and environmental issues, each 10‑minute episode explores how animals eat, live, and interact with their ecosystems through a One Health lens. You’ll hear about dogs and other companion animals, wildlife and rescue cases, gut biomes, species‑appropriate feeding, and new research papers – plus the occasional human‑health link – all with practical take‑home points for real animals and the people who care for them.
