Nova Scotia
Amazon is building a $200-million, 1.2-million-square-foot distribution centre in Dartmouth's Burnside Industrial Park, its second Nova Scotia facility. The two-storey building sits on 82 acres and could shorten delivery times.
New Brunswick
New Brunswick received just over $9.9 million in federal funding through the Foreign Credential Recognition Program to help internationally trained professionals enter the workforce faster, including wage subsidies for 100 nurses and new teacher bridging programs.
Prince Edward Island
Montague, PEI propulsion manufacturer AKA Energy Systems remains in talks over Canada's submarine procurement program after German firm thyssenkrupp Marine Systems was named preferred bidder, while keeping its Hanwha Ocean partnership.
Newfoundland and Labrador
Newfoundland and Labrador, Quebec, and Ottawa are preparing a new Churchill Falls agreement, expected to boost Labrador hydroelectric capacity and help revive the Atlantic Loop Project connecting Atlantic provinces to Quebec's grid, aided by federal financial incentives.
