Social Selling · Selling things to your friends comes down to what your personality is like. Personally, I don’t like mixing friendships and business. But you can definitely build your business around your existing connections. What are you excellent at? · When you're selling your expertise, what you're really selling is your time. This type of business model allows you to get paid to learn. Make it once, sell it a thousand times · Share your creations: sell buttons on Etsy, make stickers and courses, or design coloring books. Crafty businesses are very cool. Get paid three times for everything you do I'm always looking for ways to maximize my efficiency and return on investment by getting paid to learn something, getting paid why learning it, and getting paid to teach it to other people.

Here we are with another episode of our “be your own boss” series. We are getting so close to the finale I can almost hear it. Speaking of hearing things, since you got so far, what you need to do now is to make a loud and clear statement/declaration that you are going to do this! It doesn’t matter who you are declaring this to as long as you do it. Tell your wife, tell your friends, tell your dog, or just say it to yourself in front of the mirror, just let those words out. You have to declare loud and clear that you are ready to make the changes and put your time and energy into being your own boss The Money You Get Back In order to get money, you have to spend money. The important thing is to know where you spend them and to know how to earn the business expenses back. The right time Don’t wait for the right time because it might never happen. Don’t wait until you get fired to do what you love.

| SNM203: The Buck Stops Here. It's The Right Time To Take Responsibility | 13 Oct 2020 | 00:21:20 | |
The buck stops here when you're your own boss! Find out what that means in today's episode. Being on the top is lonely. When I started my business 10 years ago, I've tried hiring friends, I've tried converting employees to friends and that always worked out poorly. It’s is always better to have a distant and professional relationship with your employees. I really like the people on my team, but I am not best friends with them and that distance we have is one of the reasons why we work so well together. The level of responsibility you have as a boss means that there is a level of stress that you experience. Even if you're just a one-person operation, when you're your own boss, you have to decide how much money that comes in, goes to the business, and how much it goes to your family. The kids might want a new toy, but you need to put money aside for some software that you need to buy to grow the company. With my company, I always have the worst-case scenario possible in my head but I also have solutions if that ever happens. We are constantly trying to improve how much space there is between what we have and what we need, so we have more and more buffer. This is why even though I want to hire new people all the time, I learned to take a step back and consider whether that money would be better left in the company buffer. I don't like to hire someone until I have at least three months of their salary saved in a separate potential higher salary box. It’s always a good idea to keep a proper track of your money. You have to know how, where, and how much you are spending. The money you don’t spend is money you get to keep. Working for a big company and spending the company’s money is different than when it’s your own money.

| SNM202: The First Step to Starting Your Business | 06 Oct 2020 | 00:29:36 | |
This is called “to be your own boss series”, and this is part one. I have always been afraid to start my own business. It took 29 years of my life to finally become confident enough and did it. Even when I decided that I am doing it, I still had my doubts If I could really be a successful entrepreneur. When you are working for yourself one of the biggest benefits is that you can make a lot of money, but there can be times when you make nothing. From the outside it might seem to you like working for a big company is safer, like you have guaranteed job security, but the truth is you never really did and never really will. Now that we are done with the introduction it's time to take the first step towards building your own business. That is being able to operate without a net. Operation without a net is more of a mental step that you need to take. You need to realize that you are all in and if something goes wrong it’s up to you to solve it because there’s no one to blame but you. I had a bad experience with my previous banks and then I found Novo, the only bank that really appreciates me as a client and doesn’t overcharge me in fees and hidden costs. You can read more about their benefits on servenomaster.com./novo It is very important to choose a business model that you can see yourself doing even 10 or 15 years from now. You need to feel ready and excited to take this journey and see what gets you more excited, the process, or the promise? Is it the steps you need to take to get that financial reward or is it just the money? When you really think about it, can you really have one without the other? One of the easiest ways to start working for yourself is freelancing. Anything you can, writing, editing videos, recording videos, podcasts, whatever your heart desires you can start, and as time goes by you will start making money, and you will become better and better and then you can move on to coaching, recording courses and sell them, and sooner than you think you are already well on your way to become completely free and independent.
Thank you for listening.

| SNM201: How To Boost Your Sales With Powerful Email Sequences | 29 Sep 2020 | 00:22:53 | |
Skyrocket Your Sales With Email Sequences Writing emails is a very important thing in my business. I write emails every single day because it's my primary form of communication with my audience. It is more likely that more people will see your email subject lines than read your emails or more people will read your emails than click the link, have more people read those emails than your blog posts, so it’s important to keep up your email game. When you are giving, the most important thing to give your audience is value. If you have more than one channel, you need to give value both on our channels and within our emails. ● You don't want someone who loved your free content to join your email list and never get content again, that's not very good. So make sure you find that right balance. If you want to sell something, one of the most powerful things you can offer is proof that the thing you are recommending works. This is why in your sales letters you always have to offer some kind of proof. When you have proof on your side you don’t need fancy words or to go over your head to convince them, the proof does that for you. The more proof you have the fewer skills are required to write a good sales letter. There is nothing wrong with trying different types of emails and seeing which one works best for you. In fact, I encourage you to try as many different types of emails as you can. Over time you will see every person of their email list for what they really are. Are thy and the emotional buyer or the rational buyer? Once you have this figured out you will know why and how you can meet their needs and what’s the right way to approach them across the email spectrum. Different people respond differently to different people. I am sure that if you send an email to my email list you would get a different response than I would because they are interacting with something new to them.

| SNM199: How to Create Your 1st Course from Scratch | 15 Sep 2020 | 00:21:59 | |
Double your income by building your first course. I don’t have a problem promoting someone else’s course if it’s something that I don’t well. Although I would never promote something that I teach, I would much rather have my customers redirected towards someone who is better at something that averages at. If we are talking about is it better to fail while trying, it’s always better if you are not the first one in the line. Pioneers get shot in the back, so it’s the best if you see how others did before you if there’s actual value in the niche you chose and then go ahead and spread your content. When you know your audience you know that advanced people who are advanced in the market or people that are very wealthy, they often pay more money to get results faster. How you deliver your content, it can be driven by what you're good at, what you feel comfortable doing, or what the audience expects, but you need to make that decision so it helps you determine what you're going to create, and decide how you are going to deliver it to them. If I am an affiliate I get to keep 50% of the sales. If I sell my own course for $2,000, I keep all of it. That's doubling your income. There's nothing else you can do that will increase your revenue as much in any market. The moment you take your traffic and stop sending it to other people, start selling your own products, you will double your income and there's no other way you can do that at any job you have in the world.

I completely ignored and was unaware that getting customers, getting traffic is way harder than building a product. Anyone could build a course in their backyard. It doesn't require anyone else's involvement. We can do it on our own. I build courses all the time. And I'm going to talk about that a few episodes down the line from now. If this mindset sounds familiar, if you've ever tried to work with someone and they were too selfish, and so it killed the deal - I want you to throw a thumbs up below this video because you know what I'm talking about. I had this mindset that I needed to keep a larger percentage of every deal as possible so that I could earn what I deserved. The problem with this type of mindset is that you start to earn a hundred percent of nothing. You get to keep a hundred percent of nothing or 90% of nothing. And my sales were, of course, abysmal. I never had an affiliate sale for that product. Why would anyone promote it? Connect with Jonathan Green

| SNM191: How to build an authorship business without breaking the bank with Ray Brehm | 17 Jul 2020 | 00:36:22 | |
In this business the first thing you need to do is learn how to market your book and find out who you are similar to. Being similar to somebody is not a setback, on the contrary, it's a significant opportunity. Authors and books that you are emulating with you are your clues for cracking the Amazon marketing world. When you click on an author's profile, it shows you even more authors that are most commonly purchased by a certain target audience. They share similar target words and marketing strategies, so feel free to be creative and work with what you have. It makes a lot more sense than just turning on a couple of Amazon ads. And really, you've got to prime those Amazon ads anyway with clicks and sales from other sources.
Reaching out to your friends who are also in the business or other people that are in your niche or similar is the safest and most noble approach you can take. Ask them to cross-promote your book, or do a podcast with you, or get yourself invited to theirs if they host one. We call this a virtual book tour, and it's completely free. It just takes a little bit of effort and a few kind words. On the other hand, these methods might seem like you are creating competition, because there are a lot of authors but not so many customers. You need to kiss this mindset goodbye as soon as possible. The digital world is abundant, and there is enough room for everybody. Leave some feedback. We would love to hear from you!

Having an online business is a long-term investment and you want your long-term investments to work. This is where statistics come in. They are an inextricable part of the financial stability of a business. What you need to do first, is understand where your money is coming from and that means spending a lot of time with your bookkeeper and analyzing the figures. You need to understand which of your projects are generating money and what are the market’s common trends. This is crucial because you want to direct your energy in the right place. Using bookkeeping software and a time-tracking device for your employees’ working hours are additional ways of cutting down on expenditures and maintaining your run rate.
