Today on the island I’m joined by… myself! That’s right I’ve had a break in recording Podcasts over Christmas so I’ve got 2 weeks free in the schedule before I’ve got new guests on so I thought why not talk to you about my favourite dessert and 3 favourite resources in the first episode, and then I’m going to give some of the learnings that I’ve gleaned from interviewing great leaders in the second episode. 

So firstly, a little bit about myself. I’m Chris, as you well know, and I’m the project manager for Continuous Professional Development with Assemblies of God GB. I also work for my local church, One Church, in the area of strategic development and project management, and I also help churches and church leaders on the side with strategy and organisational development. I live in Gloucester with my wife Amy, who I’ve been married to for 14 years and we have two wonderful kids, Indie and Judah.

Mike is the Location Pastor at One Church in Bristol and is the author of the book Dying to Get there: A vision of heaven to transform our lives on earth. Mike is also the head coach of AoG’s Ministers In Training cohort that graduates in 2026. Mike is married to Dani and they have one son, Jackson.

Today I’m joined on the island by Pastor Mark Holdcroft. Mark is the senior pastor of Life Stream in Biddulph since October 2016.  Before this, Mark and his wife Liz spent 10 years serving as missionaries in Slovakia planting churches and starting a bible school. Mark also serves on the AoG 3D Missions Team. Mark and Liz have two children, Jessica and Noah, and love spending time together as a family.

Today I’m joined on the island by Misheck Manhanha. 

Misheck is the AoG GB Church Planting Lead for the UK, after being the Senior Pastor of Riverside Family Church in Southampton.

With a strong passion for seeing believers become disciples, and disciples become witnesses, Misheck has been able to serve within various levels of church leadership and corporate leadership over the last 18 years. Misheck is married to Sharleen and they have four wonderful children who keep the homelife very active and loud.

Today I’m joined on the Island by Sujith Alex. Sujith leads Beacon Church in Bury St Edmunds. ​He is married to Reshmy and they have a son, Judah and a daughter Anna Grace. A graduate of the University of Wales in Bangor, with a Masters in Practical Theology, Sujith serves as an AoG Area Leader for churches across six counties in the East Anglia and London region. He enjoys watching sport and spending time with leaders from all sectors of society.

Mark Ritchie is an international speaker, podcaster and evangelist. He's been performing his one man shows for the past 20 years, whether it's crowds at Edinburgh Fringe Festival, or sold out venues across the world. Mark has audiences laughing, crying and provokes him to think. Mark lives in Nottingham with his wife, Tamsin and their two kids Jordan and Keziah.

Today I’m joined on the island by Danny Murphy. Danny, along with his wife Naomi and their three sons, moved to lead Life Church in Bedworth in January 2019. By God's grace they have seen the church become a thriving, diverse and multi-generational church with a vast array of ministries reaching many in the surrounding areas.

Having previously ministered in Bolton and Fraserburgh and having served as a Youth Pastor and an Associate Pastor, Danny has experience of leading in various church roles and community contexts. Danny loves the local church passionately and believes in its God-given mandate to bring redemption and restoration to whole communities. He loves to encourage and equip those around him to rise up in faith and wholeheartedly pursue the call of God for their lives and ministries.

Danny is a family man, a loyal Manchester United supporter, a curry connoisseur and an infrequent gym attendee!
