Dr. Wonsuk Ma is a Korean Pentecostal scholar whose first ministry was at an Assemblies of God church at the original place where David Yonggi Cho had opened his first tent church. Dr Ma and his family then lived in the Philippines between 1979 and 2006, where Dr Ma developed a strong sense of “Mission in the Spirit” both practically and theoretically. 

From 2006 to 2016, Dr Ma served as Executive Director and David Yonggi Cho Research Tutor of Global Christianity at Oxford Centre for Mission Studies, Oxford. Dr Ma is now working at Oral Roberts University, where he teaches and researches on the Holy Spirit and Global Christianity. 

He and his wife, Julie, who also teaches at Oral Roberts University, have two sons. The elder one serves as a missionary to Korea, while the younger son teaches English in Seoul, Korea. They are proud grandparents to two adorable grandchildren.

Today Chris's guest is Angela Gaeta. Angela met her husband Gianni in 1984 in England at the International Bible Training Institute. As a teenager, Angela was already determined to one day go to Austria as a missionary, so they decided to do it together! In 1988 they founded their first church in Leoben. It has grown from 50 people in a back street warehouse into a multi-site, multi-generational church of 7 locations - 3 locations in and around Manchester plus Chester, Cardiff, Sheffield and Geneva. Their central location has an active congregation of 4,000 people. They are currently about to break ground on a brand new purpose-built Church facility which will include within it a 2,500 seater auditorium.

Today I’m joined on the island by Danny Murphy. Danny, along with his wife Naomi and their three sons, moved to lead Life Church in Bedworth in January 2019. By God's grace they have seen the church become a thriving, diverse and multi-generational church with a vast array of ministries reaching many in the surrounding areas.

Having previously ministered in Bolton and Fraserburgh and having served as a Youth Pastor and an Associate Pastor, Danny has experience of leading in various church roles and community contexts. Danny loves the local church passionately and believes in its God-given mandate to bring redemption and restoration to whole communities. He loves to encourage and equip those around him to rise up in faith and wholeheartedly pursue the call of God for their lives and ministries.
