To all the amazing mamas out there—this one’s for you. Whether this Mother’s Day felt like a win or left you in tears, you’re not alone. In this episode, I sit down with two incredible mothers who’ve been with me since my early days of motherhood. We talk about the real stuff—sleepless nights, unexpected joys, and the deep beauty of raising little souls. So grab a cup of tea (or hide in the pantry—we won’t judge) and join us for a heartfelt conversation on the highs and lows of motherhood. You are seen. You are loved. You were made for this.

Beautifully Broken19 May 202500:11:30

Beautifully Broken: A Women’s Retreat Ladies, you can’t know who you are until you know whose you are. You weren’t created to be someone else. You were uniquely crafted in the image of God—wonderfully and fearfully made. As John Paul II said, “You are the sum of the Father’s love.” Join us for a weekend to rest, reflect, and rediscover the sacred beauty within your brokenness. Together, we’ll explore: • Embracing your God-given identity with confidence • Releasing the burden of who you think you “should” be • Finding healing through the power of forgiveness You’ll be invited into the peaceful presence of Eucharistic Adoration and the healing mercy of Confession. Come as you are. Leave renewed. Be who you were created to be—the world is waiting for you to shine. August 29-31

158: A Weekend of True Rest16 Oct 202000:21:51

We just wrapped up our first Lilies Ladies weekend retreat! It was such a great experience so I wanted to share some of the highlights with y’all. In this episode Jasmine Ima and I talk about the weekend, our takeaways and what we learned about the importance of rest!

You may not be in a place where you can get away for a small retreat, however rest is important wherever you are. This year has not allowed for a lot of rest children are home parents are working from home as well so we have to be extra creative in how we find rest and give Christ the quiet to speak into. I hope you Enjoy this episode and I really hope to meet more of you the next time we do a Lilies Ladies retreat.

157: An Incredible Conversion Story09 Oct 202001:15:11

Today I interview the beautifully authentic Melissa Tolosi! She shares all about her conversion to Catholicism after being raised a protestant. She shares her faith journey with such clarity and emotion it is an amazing interview and I think you will love it!

Melissa Tolosi is an Australian-American convert stumbling (often) along the path to sainthood in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She could also be described as a cat person, an aspiring novelist and copywriter, or a nanny with a deep love of Gregorian chant and Broadway showtunes. You can find her on Instagram at @thecrunchycatholic ! Or on facebook in the Among the Lilies group just search her name.

156: We Are Called to Charity!02 Oct 202000:20:18

Charity is defined as "kindness and tolerance in judging others." In this episode I talk for a bit about relationships and how it is common to be in relationship for what you can get out of that relationship. Our culture praises those who can see in a relationship what they can get out of it, think of the quintessential salesman/businessman. This is NOT to say that all salesmen/businessmen are only selfish in relationships but that it is a trait that is encouraged by the world. To see another person for the value they bring to you instead of what you can bring to the other.

Jesus modeled sacrificial relationships and he did not choose to only be in relationships with those who he agreed with, we are called to do likewise. I hope you enjoy this episode!

155: Everyone Needs a Nurse Christine!25 Sep 202001:31:10

Please Note: This episode was recorded last fall so COVID-19 was not a part of the conversation or something we were dealing with. We do not talk about COVID in this episode for that reason.

In todays episode I talk with my dear friend Christine Malone. Christine is one of the Among the Lilies "Three Musketeers." She is the woman who makes everything happen, helps schedule and communicate with interviewees, and keeps Elisa and I on track. On top of all that I have known Christine longer than I have known my husband. Christine is married, has four beautiful children, who she schools at home, and she has been a nurse for 18 years! She is the woman I call with all my medical questions. I wanted to share her wisdom with y'all so here you go! I think you will really enjoy this episode and if you have more questions share them with us and we can do another episode with Christine in the future!

154: Surviving Wildfire Smoke with Nerf Guns18 Sep 202000:55:56

Today I interview one of my amazing Among The Lilies partners. Elisa, you have heard her voice often as she has started producing the show. You may remember her from some early episodes including the infamous Sex Series, available to patrons. We are planning some new episodes in that series soon. This episode is not about sex but we do talk about fires, smoke, homeschooling chaos and guns...nerf guns. I talk to Elisa all about how she is surviving in Southern Washington with hazardous air from the wildfires that are raging all down the west coast.

Elisa is homeschooling five children, running a business selling art and candles, working for me, all the while stuck inside because the air in Oregon and Washington has been at a dangerously high level. You can see her shop and beautiful products and support her at trulykindred.com

I hope you enjoy this episode! We talk about a lot. If you are interested in helping with wildfire relief there are many people who have lost homes. More than 5 million acres have burned so far and tens of thousands have been displaced the result of the fire is air quality conditions worse than have ever been seen. Everyone on the west coast could use our prayers and help.

This organization helps support the families of firefighters in California who work tirelessly year after year to fight the wildfires in California.

This fund was set up to help the families who have been affected by the wildfires in California.

153: Where Were You on 9/11?11 Sep 202000:38:39

In today's episode, aired on September 11, 2020 I talk about this day 19 years ago. 9/11 was a world changing day and for those of us who were old enough to remember it happening it will forever be fixed in our minds. I compare the response of the nation/world then to the response everyone is having now.

I would love to hear where you were when 9/11 happened, what were you feeling, please share your story with me in the comments below the show post!

152: Finding your Personhood Beyond LGBTQ04 Sep 202001:04:54

Today I interview the other founder of Eden Invitation (an apostolate for those with same -sex attraction)! You may remember Episode 145 when I interviewed Anna Carter well Shannon is the other half of the Eden Invitation team and I am so excited about the ministry these two beautiful women have founded.

Who is Shannon? As a young girl, Shannon spent Sunday mornings in the pew eating contraband pretzels out of her dress pockets.  She graduated from  the University of Wisconsin-Madison with degrees in Social Welfare and Gender & Women's Studies.  She has fallen for men and for women, but ultimately she fell for the beauty of Christ and His Church. Prior to founding Eden Invitation, Shannon worked in college campus ministry with The Evangelical Catholic and Brew City Catholic. Her current roles include relationship nurturer, community developer, and social media quote-finder. If you're looking for her, try the shore of the nearest body of water. (bio taken from edeninvitation.com)

I'm super excited to share with you that Eden Invitation was the recent winner of the 2020 OSV Innovation Challenge! What is the OSV Innovation Challenge? Well think Catholic “Shark Tank” its a challenge created by Our Sunday Visitor and Catholic Creatives that seeks to encourage innovation that is God inspired and is motivated by a love of our broken world. Eden Invitation was awarded $100,000 to further their ministry. I am so proud of Anna and Shannon! You can read more about Eden Invitation and OSV Challenge below!

Episodes from the Vault: Episode 1510 Jul 202000:53:23

In this episode I interview Courtney Barta about her struggle with infertility. If you have struggled with infertility or if you have a loved one who has struggled with it, this episode will bless you. This is another episode from the vault which was first aired in 2016. Courtney shares her heart so beautifully in this interview and she is very honest about her experiences. You will be so blessed by this interview.

Infertility is a constantly shifting and changing journey, it is not a constant. Practicing NFP is all about trusting God, our vision is not always His vision. It is a journey of trust and discerning and opening ourselves to His will. Wherever you are at in your journey as a woman seeking to have children there is beauty, there is also struggle and pain but it is so important to watch for the beauty. Trust in what God has for you in this season it will grow you and prepare you for whatever is next.

148: Pentecost05 Jun 202001:06:40

In this episode I interview Janice Charbonnet. We talk about Pentecost, the holy spirit, and how transformative it is to invite the Holy Sprit into every day moments, the small and the large. He wants to transform all our suffering, even the terrible Costco delivery...just listen and you will understand. Enjoy!

More about Janice (White) Charbonnet: Janice was born and raised in Canada. She studied at Mount Saint Vincent University in Nova Scotia and earned a degree in public relations. She worked in various positions across the country, ending with a position as public relations coordinator for a politician with a cabinet position. In 1996 she felt called to quit her job and serve as a missionary with NET Ministries, traveling with a team across the United States leading evangelization retreats for teenagers. That was where she met her husband, Jean, and they continued to work with NET Ministries together, this time in their Canadian office. They moved to Mandeville in 2008 to be closer to Jean's family. Janice and Jean have 5 children ranging in age from 18 to 6. She serves on the women's team for CCRNO (Catholic Charismatic Renewal of New Orleans). She and her husband are speakers for Wilwoods marriage retreats and also facilitate a program teaching married couples how to pray together. She has a passion for ministering to women's hearts and delights in being with groups of women on retreat.
