Friendship should be a source of support, joy, and connection. But sometimes, even in the closest of friendships, drama & gossip can creep in, threatening to disrupt the harmony you've worked so hard to build. Whether it’s whispered behind closed doors, played out in group texts, or shared over coffee, gossip can be toxic and draining. So, how do you handle it without losing your cool or compromising your values? Here are a few strategies for navigating drama and gossip with your female friends while preserving your peace and integrity. 1. Set Clear Boundaries First and foremost, set boundaries around gossip. If a friend starts talking behind someone's back or filling you in on unnecessary drama, be upfront about your discomfort. You don’t need to engage in every conversation, especially when it doesn't serve you or others in a positive way. 2. Don’t Participate, But Don’t Ignore It’s one thing to stay out of the drama, but it’s another to act like it’s not happening at all. If you’re in a group where gossip is circulating, it’s important to take a stand—without making it into a confrontation. Instead of just zoning out or ignoring the conversation, try to redirect the energy toward something more productive. 3. Communicate Honestly and Directly When you sense that drama is brewing, addressing it head-on with the person involved can be the most mature way to handle it. If there’s tension with a friend, or if you’ve overheard something you didn’t like, don’t let it fester. Avoid passive-aggressive behavior and instead have an open, honest conversation. 4. Avoid Taking Sides Too Quickly It’s natural to want to stand by your friends when they’re upset or when someone else is the target of the gossip. But jumping into the drama by choosing sides can escalate things unnecessarily. Instead, try to remain neutral and listen with empathy to both sides of the story. Sometimes, drama and conflicts are more about misunderstandings or miscommunications than about real issues. 5. Practice Empathy and Encourage Growth Drama often arises from deeper insecurities, unmet needs, or feelings of jealousy. In those moments, try to practice empathy—both for your friends and for yourself. Understand that people aren’t perfect and that sometimes they act out of frustration or fear. If you see a friend consistently engaging in negative behavior, try to have a gentle conversation with her about her actions. 6. Lead By Example When you make the choice to rise above drama, you set the tone for your friendships, and others are more likely to follow your lead. Stay true to your values and be consistent in your actions—because ultimately, kindness and integrity always win out over negativity. A Word of Wisdom “A faithful friend is a sturdy shelter; she who finds one finds a treasure. A faithful friend is beyond price, no sum can balance her worth. A faithful friend is a life-saving remedy, such as she who fears God finds; for she who fears God behaves accordingly, and her friend will be like himself.” (Sirach 6:14-17) True friendship is about loyalty, respect, and integrity. When drama and gossip threaten to tear apart the bonds between you and your friends, hold firm to the qualities that make a friendship strong: faithfulness, honesty, and a heart that seeks to understand and heal. And as Edith Stein beautifully wrote, “The woman’s soul is fashioned as a shelter in which other souls may unfold.” A true friendship is a safe space where souls can thrive, free from judgment or negativity. By fostering an environment of kindness and openness, we allow ourselves and those around us to grow into the best versions of who we are. Friendships are meant to enrich our lives, not drain them. It’s important to recognize when drama and gossip start to chip away at the foundation of a friendship, and to take action when necessary. By setting boundaries, being honest, practicing empathy, and leading by example, you can help create a more positive and supportive environment for yourself and your friends. Ultimately, the best friendships are the ones that uplift, support, and inspire you—ones that lead you to Christ and help you be more YOU.

It may be that he can no longer stand on his feet and suffering has shaped his character, but this speech by Pope Francis a few days ago is simply AMAZING!

"You can have flaws, be anxious and even be angry, but do not forget that your life is the greatest enterprise in the world. Only you can stop it from failing.
You are appreciated, admired and loved by so many.
Remember that being happy is not having a sky without storm, a road without accidents, a job without effort, a relationship without disappointments.

“To be happy is to stop feeling like a victim and become the author of your own fate.”
It's walking through deserts, but being able to find an oasis deep in the soul.
It's thanking God every morning for the miracle of life.
It’s kissing your children, cuddling your parents, having poetic moments with your friends, even when they hurt us.

"Being happy is letting the creature that lives in each of us live, free, joyful and simple.
You have the maturity to be able to say: "I've made mistakes." It's having the courage to say I'm sorry.
It's having the sense to say, "I need you."
Is having the ability to say, "I love you."
May your life become a garden of opportunities for happiness... that in spring he may be a lover of joy and in winter a lover of wisdom.

"And when you make a mistake, start over. Because only then will you be in love with life. You'll discover that being happy isn't having a perfect life. But use tears to irrigate tolerance. Use your defeats to train your patience.

"Use your mistakes with the serenity of the sculptor. Use pain to tune into pleasure. Use obstacles to open the windows of intelligence. Never give up ... Above all never give up on the people that love you. Never give up on being happy, because life is an incredible spectacle."

Napro OB-GYN interview w/ Dr.Teresa Hilgers Dr. Teresa Hilgers is an OB-GYN here at the Saint Paul VI Institute. She was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, and then she went to Baylor University in Waco, Texas, for her undergraduate degree. She then ventured to Washington DC and received her Masters at Georgetown University, and then came back to Omaha, where she completed her Medical Degree at Creighton University. For her residency training, she went to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, and following that, she completed a Fellowship here at the Institute in Medical and Surgical NaProTechnology. During the week, she sees patients in the clinic, performs surgeries, and delivers babies. Catholics often have a hard time finding women health doctors we can trust and who uphold our moral values. We are blessed to have such a doctor on the show today. She upholds the dignity of each human person, especially her patients. We will be taking questions from our Patreon's 1st, but please put yours below in the comment section, and will try to cover as many as we can.

For people that love books at are true, good & beautiful… help get books that are not theses things out of our library!!!! I think we need to spare children from all things sexually & protect their innocence. Anyone else miss books full of imagination & make-believe? I don’t remember books pushing agendas when we were kids. Let’s get our libraries back to just promoting reading for all!! Ladies please sign & share!!! My friend Laura created a petition to get the LGBTQ+ books out of the children’s section at our library. Minimum is to sign, but please share to get others to help & if you feel called start your own petition for your own local libraries. This needs to be done at the grass roots level. Dunk Driving awareness only happened b/c of moms who were sick of it!! Ladies I’m fed up, how about you? Let’s protect this next generation of kids & give them a fighting chance!!!! Ladies we need to be prudent and learn when to say NO! It's okay to not always say yes to everyone and everything! I chatted earlier w/ Fr.Gregory Pine... Due to me not knowing how to work volume, bad German connection, powering going out & more that episode is not up. But I wanted to leave y'all w/ the challenge he left me w/. My husband said something to me years ago "Every time you say 'yes' to someone else, you say 'no' to the Kids and I." What are you saying no to when you say yes to everyone else?

"We got no food, we got no jobs, our pets’ heads are falling off!” At the risk of dating myself w/ a Dumb & Dumber quote, but seriously that is how I've felt these last few weeks. Everything is going wrong and stuff that shouldn't be happening is happening!!! 5 ER runs to 3 different hospitals, my daughter got bit by a BAT, my son was thrown off my husband's electric bike. But instead of someone yelling "Harry, I'll take care of it", the entire situation yelled, "Cameron, I'm taking care of it!!" God was with us and taking care of us in each and every moment. I share the beauty of that and our Community. Community is such an important thing in our lives, it's simply amazing how we can rely on, pray and help each other out. What is your community like? There is also a guest appearance by our youngest Fradd teaching you about his bees! :-) Feel free to ask him questions he really wants to come back on!
