FOX News - Trump supporters probably watch this news channel (Republicans) 4. CNN - Biden/Harris supporters probably watch this news channel (Democrats) 5. Slip- To accidentally lose your balance or footing and fall. "Be careful not to slip on the wet floor." 6. Slipping- Not doing as well as before or feeling less healthy. "Some people worried that President Biden was slipping and not keeping up with the tough job." 7. Slip up- To make a mistake. "I slipped up and forgot to do my homework." 8. Cover-up - When someone tries to hide the truth about something illegal or embarrassing. "There was a cover-up to keep the news from the public." 9. Declining president - A president who is losing support or power. "The declining president struggled to gain public approval." 10. The narrative The story or explanation people tell about an event or situation. "The narrative about the event changed after new facts were discovered." 11. Dropping Out - To quit something before finishing, like a school course or a race. "She thought about dropping out of college because it was getting too hard." 12. Oval - A shape that’s almost a circle, like a squished circle “The spoon was oval shaped. 13. Oval Office - The official office of the President of the United States in the White House. "The President addressed the nation from the Oval Office." 14. Done in primetime - Shown on TV during the evening when most people watch. "The show is done in primetime because it's very popular." 15. This is not the norm - This is not usual or typical. "Seeing snow in July is not the norm here." 16. Public service- A job or work done to help people or government. "The fire department provides a public service by keeping us safe." 17. Selfless - Caring more about other people's needs and wishes than your own. "The nurse was very selfless, always putting her patients first." 18. Admirable- Deserving respect and approval. "Her dedication to helping others is truly admirable." 19. Standard-bearer - A person or thing that represents a cause, group, or idea. "She is the standard-bearer for the new school policy." 20. Political party- A group of people with similar ideas about how to govern a country. "The two main political parties in the United States are the Democrats and the Republicans." 21. ICE - Immigration and Customs Enforcement - Police that work to keep illegal immigrants out of the United States 22. 50% drop at the border - I think they are talking about illegal immigrants crossing the border between Mexico and the United States.
