Mike Clelland has had many callings—author, illustrator, wilderness traveler, podcaster, and UFO researcher. His books fall into two contrasting categories. First came funny outdoor instructionals with cartoons. These taught the technical skills of skiing, climbing, mountain travel, glacier rescue, and ultralight backpacking. Next came a more thoughtful series, an inquiry into the relationship between owls and UFOs.

Mike’s 2015 book, The Messengers, was met with high praise. In it, he explores the mysterious connection between owls, synchronicities, and UFO abduction. It was his first-hand experiences with these elusive events that have been the foundation for his research. This book is also a personal memoir, and a journey of self-discovery.

CHARLES LEAR has many interests, of which UFOs take up more than a little of his time. His main interests in the UFO subject are in the documented history the phenomenon has spawned and the people who investigate it, as this book reflects. Charles’ other interests are geology and paleontology and his familiarity with science and its disciplines informs his approach to the UFO subject. Having lived most of his life in New York City, where he made his living as a union stagehand and was involved in other aspects of theatre as a playwright, producer, director and Shakespearean actor, Charles now resides in New York, USA.

The phenomena of alien abduction has always been viewed in a very US-centric spotlight despite this being a global phenomena. Testimony looks at the phenomena from a UK perspective, looking at the history of alien abduction in the UK as well as looking at some never previously discussed case studies. Some of these case studies have some unusual aspects which serve to remind us that the phenomena is more complex than we first imagined.

This week I'm reading from Ronald Kinsella's book 'Illusions: Smoke and Mirrors Of The UFO/ET/Paranormal Enigma'.

In this book, Ronald Kinsella questions the validity of a number of alien, UFO and cryptid reports which range from the unusual, to the very bizarre, throughout the world.  This interrogation is not based on their authenticity, rather, questioning a much darker aspect to their origins and of a seemingly fragmented phenomena.
Is it just possible we have been duped by something else?  Something far more sinister?  Is it at all feasible to suggest that many of the ghosts, cryptids, and alien encounters, reported by hundreds of thousands of people throughout time, have been manifested by a Force that is as cunning as it is ingenious?  Has it also employed its tactics through the likes of Scrying, CE-5 Initiatives, along with the Ouija Board?  And is ‘Skin Walker Ranch,’ –  a hotspot for paranormal activity –  being used as its playground, knowing that interest of it has certainly arisen?
Are we looking at a thing which is as bizarre as the very cosmos itself, and of which understands us and our history to the point of disbelief?
Ronald attests that these are merely ideas, and that the reasons concluded certainly do sway strongly towards anonimous and calculated addition to planet Earth.  He wagers that his own encounters, perhaps like many, have been instigated by a clever trickster, and of which selects people for a reason he contemplates within the very pages of this book.

In the second half of 1954, France was the location of numerous UFO sightings, some of which involved encounters with or observations of strange beings. It was the first large-scale "wave" of reports that occurred outside the United States since the start of the modern-day UFO phenomenon at the end of June 1947. A somewhat sceptical public found themselves bombarded with almost daily stories of strange lights, spherical craft or disc-shaped objects in their local newspapers, the press faithfully reporting on the hundreds of incidents that came to their attention. A few were hoaxes but the vast majority involved ordinary French citizens faced with the complete unknown. This new book lists most of the cases where at least some detail beyond a simple "light in the sky" is mentioned, culled from contemporary newspaper accounts. It tells the story of a perplexed nation, one that found it difficult to make sense of what was happening. Witnesses being paralysed, vehicle engines stalling and small hairy beings - the cases here provide a fascinating look at the French UFO "wave" of 1954.

Graeme Rendall is a full time author and a commentator on the Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon (UAP) issue. He is also a contributor to the "The Debrief", an American news website dealing with cutting edge science, tech and defence news, and a frequent guest on various podcasts looking at UAP. He also writes articles on the subject for UAP Media UK. Between 1990 and 1992, he was the Editor of an amateur aviation magazine. Graeme has written a critically-acclaimed work looking at the "Foo-Fighters" witnessed during World War Two and the numerous wartime cases that occurred before the term was coined in November 1944. He has been an aviation and World War Two history enthusiast from an early age, when he was given Airfix model aircraft kits "to keep him quiet". Married to Jo, he lives in rural Northumberland, between the beach and the hills.
