The Power of Saying No: Say Yes to Success21 Sep 202400:42:04

The Power of Saying No: Unlocking Success Through Selective Opportunities

Mastering the Art of Saying No. In today's fast-paced world, where opportunities seem to present themselves at every turn, the ability to say "no" can be a powerful tool for achieving success. Steven J. Manning, a seasoned entrepreneur with over 47 Billion of commerce under his belt and marketing expert, shares his insights on the importance of being selective and the benefits of saying no to the right opportunities. The Perils of Being a "Soft Touch" Manning acknowledges that he has often been chastised by his wife for being a "soft touch" - someone who finds it difficult to turn down requests from others. This tendency can lead to taking on projects or commitments that may not align with one's goals or provide meaningful value. As Manning explains, "people can take me as a bit of a soft touch. So they ask me to do things that perhaps benefit them more than they benefit me." The Power of Saying No Manning emphasizes that the ability to say no is a crucial skill for success. He believes that the most important word in business language is not "free" or "yes," but rather, "no." Saying no allows individuals to focus on the opportunities that truly align with their vision and priorities, rather than getting sidetracked by requests that may not contribute to their long-term goals. Tune in to learn more about this crucial topic!

Failure is Not an Option: Essential Strategies for Unstoppable Success19 Jul 202400:29:26

This week was a wild ride – internet outages, jujitsu injuries, the whole nine yards. Steven J. Manning talks about failure not being an option and about turning challenges into wins? His advice was golden this week!

First, the internet went out three times in two weeks! Construction took the blame initially, but the third one...well, let's just say I might have been the culprit (details coming!).

But here's the thing, even with a sore eye from a wayward knee at jujitsu (ouch!), I wasn't giving up. Washing the car with sunglasses on became a funny adventure, and my determination only grew.

This week was a test, for sure, but one that led to some unexpected victories and valuable lessons. Stick around to hear how I tackled the internet myself, even with blurry vision, and the cool new skill I learned in the process. Get ready for some laughs, some learnings, and a whole lot of triumph over setbacks. Let's do this!

Resilience is one of the most important skills to learn and in this episode Nelly Shein and Nathaniel Schooler discuss the ins and outs.

"If only I had known why resilience is important I may have taken the time to learn more about it before. It is in fact such an important topic in business leadership and in life that I would recommend everyone study it and try to at least embrace the qualities of resilient people. They will prepare themselves for tough times." Nelly Shein

“Psychological resilience is the ability to mentally or emotionally cope with a crisis or to return to pre-crisis status quickly. Resilience exists when the person uses “mental processes and behaviors in promoting personal assets and protecting self from the potential negative effects of stressors” –

From Startup to Scale-Up: Essential Tips for Rapid Business Expansion12 Jul 202400:49:44

Scaling Up Your Business: Essential Tips from a Seasoned Entrepreneur

Identifying Market Needs and Creating Demand

As an experienced entrepreneur who has grown a business from $1 million to $1 billion in revenue, Steven J. Manning shares his insights on the essential tips for rapid business expansion. He emphasizes that the key lies in identifying specific needs in the market and either fulfilling them or creating new ones.

"The opportunities lay in identifying specific needs that you can fulfil either as a primary or secondary. By that, I mean, you're the first one or you need to, or you actually create a need."

Manning cites the example of the "pet rock" craze, where a friend of his created a product and a need around it through clever marketing and copywriting. This illustrates how an entrepreneur can succeed by understanding the market and crafting the right message to capture attention and demand.

Steven is grateful for the great early reviews of his book, THE BUSINESS OF LIFE. Taking a wrecking ball to conventions and norms, in search for independent thought.

Creating a Personal Brand That Works in Your Favour06 Jan 202200:26:12

Your personal brand is a representation of who you are. Creating a personal brand that works in your favour is time-consuming but a necessity in today’s world. It’s about how people perceive you and interact with you. The way in which they feel about what they see on social media, read online or hear in person. Creating an authentic personal brand is important to ensure successful connections both professionally and personally.

We all know that we need to create a personal brand, but what many of us don’t know is how to make it work in our favour. Whether you’re an executive or entrepreneur, establishing a personal brand can be the key to getting ahead in your field. But with so much competition out there, how do you make sure your personal brand stands out? Check out these tips for creating a personal brand that will help you achieve your goals.

And do listen to this interview above with Ian Moyse to learn more!

These are just some of the points we discussed:

  1. What is a personal brand and why does it matter
  2. Defining your goals so you know what you want to achieve
  3. How to choose the right social media platforms for your needs
  4. The dos and don’ts of building an online presence that will help build trust in yourself as well as others.
  5. Why should I care about my personal brand, after all, isn’t it just me who’s going to see this stuff anyways…?

This interview was recorded in 2017, despite all the branding consultants telling you everything has changed it has not! And if you would like to also download my book Cheers to You you can grab that here FREE: www.brandinggrader.com

What is your personal brand? The answer to this question may be different for you than it is for someone else. Personal branding is one of those topics that doesn’t have a right or wrong way to go about things – as long as what you’re doing resonates with who you are and how you want others to perceive and remember you, then the rest will work out just fine. Your first step should be identifying who YOU really are and what YOU stand for, both personally and professionally. Once that’s done, then it becomes much easier to figure out how best to connect with people on a more meaningful level by sharing information in an authentic way using social media channels like LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter etc. This interview will explain how!

When it comes to your personal brand, there are a lot of things you need to keep in mind. How you dress, how you speak, how you act – all of these things contribute to how people see you and what they think of you. But creating a personal brand that works in your favour doesn’t have to be difficult. In fact, with a few simple tips, you can easily create a brand that reflects the best version of yourself and helps you achieve your goals.

It’s not easy to create a personal brand that works in your favour. There are many considerations, such as what words should you use on social media? What tone should you adopt? How do you present yourself online without coming across as disingenuous or fake? We’ve put together this blog post for those who want to learn how they can develop their own personal brand and make it work for them.

Vendor negotiation is very important, seeing the "vendor" as a partner is crucial to success in business. Being flexible and understanding how you can work together is key. Making sure your "vendor negotiation" is done ethically is also so important. As opposed to seeing the vendor negotiation as just another way to win and you lose. Fortunately now many vendor negotiation has become Win / Win scenarios, enabling both you the purchaser and the seller to make a strong long term working relationship.
