Interrogator Morgan Rhalls is hauled out of prison and assigned a team of hand-picked operatives to lead on a mission ordered by Roboute Guilliman himself. Her task is so secret that she's forced to operate under special condition - her actions will be denied even by her own Inquisitor. Can Morgan become a true Agent of the Inquisition? Judge Rex and the Mechanicus representative presented arguments for who should gain custody of the Heretek, but the Magistrate revealed their target’s transport had crashed in enemy territory and the Magistrate would deal with him. Having few options left, the agents stole an Aquila Lander and headed to retrieve their mark.

The agents set out on their first mission, to extract an imprisoned Heretek whose experiments should prove useful. Armed with forged papers for prisoner transfer, they arrived at the fortress precinct on Arcturus IV, a planet in the midst of a civil war, now having to convince the magistrate to release the Heretek to their custody.

At the crash site, the Inquisitorial agents discovered that their target, Talos Ivo, was gone and the Arbitrators were on their way to the hive to locate the Khornate cultists. Morgan suggested they disguise themselves as cultists and move quickly and covertly to get ahead of the Arbitrators and find the Heretek first. They donned cultist robes and prepared to infiltrate the hive.

The agents flew across the battlefield in their stolen Aquila Lander toward the crash site and their Heretek target, only to spot several Khornate cultists already there, pulling people out of the wreckage. The band seemed to have the upper hand until their Lander was suddenly shot out of the sky and plummeted toward where they stood below.

The inquisitorial band trudged through the battlefield wasteland, heading toward the northernmost hive of Arcturus IV, in the hopes of retrieving their Heretek target, Talos Ivo. At a checkpoint into the underhive, they were forced to prove they were in fact Khornate cultists. To avoid carving the symbol of Khorne into their own flesh, Morgan grabbed the flight officer they had saved from the wreckage, and carved the symbol into her instead. They then made their way to the mids and The Flensing House, to extract their target.
