She also sang backup vocals on The Tonight Show and her latest album Our Two Skins was nominated for Best Adult Contemporary Album, Australian Music Prize, and Australian Album of the Year.
In this episode, Gordi shares her process producing an album in a remote cottage with limited resources, and using a field recorder to sample random sounds like a car engine, cockatoos, etc. She also explains her songwriting process and mental flow for creating music, as well as her logistical setup for performing with Ableton Live at the Sydney Opera House using a full band/ backing tracks.
