A fallout solo-rpg podcast.
Combining audio from the table, scripted narration and atmospheric soundscapes, A Wasteland Story follows the travel of a young girl, lost and alone, struggling to survive in the wasteland.
SosKaid finds herself inexplicably rescued from the jagged rusty saw of a security robot by a young Brotherhood of Steel initiate. She had taken refuge in a factory building escaping the horrific events that overran her village and (presumably) wiped out her family and everyone she knew.
Over the course of the season a plot will unfold involving Super Mutants, the Brotherhood, the New California Republic and a town run by ghouls. SosKaid will get caught up in political intrigue, raider conflicts, an abandoned vault, and the search to find her estranged uncle far to the north....probably.
Based on the Fallout series of video games and Modiphius’ Fallout 2D20 tabletop rpg (ttrpg) system, this narrative driven meets actual play podcast brings together the creativity and interpretation of the player, and the randomness and unpredictability of the dice to tell an evolving story set in the fallout universe.
Experience how a ttrpg can be played solo and still contain all of the drama, narrative, crits and complications of a game played at the table, all wrapped up in a narrative audio adventure put together by a professional audio engineer and podcaster.
Join me PJ and our character SosKaid as we roll tape (and dice) to tell A Wasteland Story.

In this episode, your Heroine and mine, SosKaid, The Lone Wanderer, faces a long walk in the dust and has the most terrible of things as company....time.
Going over and over in her head what happened at the medical facility in Keshar the night before is no way to deal with trauma, especially when it takes her attention off the road.
Twisting timelines, overarching revalations, and plot threads crashing together drag this season of the show into its final act.
Whatever it is going to turn out to be, it definitely is, A Wasteland Story.

My raw actual play recordings from this series are now available on the Patreon as a brand new show called Holotapes where you get to listen in on the raw an actual creation of this story. Check it out at the Lone Wanderer Tier over there.
And a special credit to the wonderful talent of Mark Morgan who composed the original (Fallout 1&2) and Wasteland 2 soundtracks, and Inon Zur (New Vegas, Fallout Tactics, etc.) which are also available on Archive.org
In this Episode of the show, under-the-(severe)influence SosKaid decides to investigate that nice looking man with the shotgun with unsurprising results.
Also: The FEV plot thickens, baby's first hangover, and the inkling of a republic emerge.
What the hell is going on in Keshar? Do we finally have a lead to stop it? and where did dogmeat get to? Listen in to find out on another red-eyed episode of, A Wasteland Story.

Ep 12 - Mikey's (in)Famous Moonshine
Episode 13
Saturday, October 11, 2025 • Duration 01:15:03
Hello and Welcome Back to A Wasteland Story.
In this episode of the show, your heroine and mine SosKaid, along with Brotherhood of Steel initiate Hawthorn and goodboy Dogmeat, continue to try and work out what the hell is going on with 'feral' ghouls in Keshar. From shotgun antics in the barn, unexpected visitors in the forest and Mikey's hell of a moonshine, this episode has it all so sit down in your favourite winged-backed armchair, pour a snifter of something strong in a heavy glass, relax and.....please drink responsibly.
Todays show is packed with all sorts of Wastelandy SoloRolePlaying goodness. Think; travel supercuts, published adventure musings, a bizarrely constructed city, another enigmatic leader (hopefully this one lives a little longer than the last, thanks Mythic), and mountains of sweet sweet crafting...oh so much crafting.
Throw in a little mystery and you've got yourself, my friend, todays episode of A Wasteland Story.
Ka Chunk!
[A Quick Update]
Episode 11
Tuesday, May 27, 2025 • Duration 03:20
Just a quick update to let you all know what's going on.
On todays episode of the show our heroine SosKaid, her little pal dogmeat, and their unexpected companion Hawthorn have tracked a band of raiders to a clearing in the forest.
Having laid a trap of mines, they take their shot at rescuing Hawthorns comrades Ramirez, and diverting a disaster in the nearby settlement of Keshar.
After defeating the pesky bloody mozzies in the forest, SosKaid and Dogmeat get a lead on what happened to the Brotherhood of Steel members and where they have been taking.
They set off on the trail to try and find, and save (what's left) of their important very nearly ally's and find them hanging out at The Drive In.
In all of the travel and holidays over the Christmas period I didn't get my script finished for the next mainline episode. I hope to have it out before the end of the month but in the meantime you I have put together the audio from a Co-operative play of Fallout2D20 it did with Thomas on his YT channel Board Games With Thomas.
We had a blast and I got to test out a new character who will be very important in the second season of the show ;)
Hope you enjoy!

[NOTE: The first 20 mins this ep was up the music track hadn't bounced properly... so if you listened and it was weirdly silent, that's why. Its now been fixed]
Welcome back to A Wasteland story.
Our tale picks up after SosKaid and Dogmeat managed to sneak into an NCR outpost, meet a scientist who could help with the FEV plot back in Nuark.
Upon returning to her new brotherhood allies however she found them gone...well two of the three.
One of them wasnt gone because he was dead on the ground, the only trace of the others a bloody dragmark into the forest.
SosKaid and Dogmeat set off to try and find out what happened.
What's that noise?
