Being able to effectively express an idea or emotion is the hallmark of a good voice actor. And the way to do that is by using emphasis. See, if the question you ask yourself is, "Why am I not being successful?" or "Why can't I get any more voiceover clients?", than your mind will focus all its energy on figuring out what you are doing wrong. And if you happen to add persistence to patience, you have a winning combination. When I first started, I got obsessed with doing work, like auditioning for audiobooks and pumping out royalty share work. This afforded me a lot of practice that really paid off later. But I was not working anywhere else and making $50 or $100 a month. But patience and persistence played its role well and now I look back to those moments and think it was one of the purest moments in my life because I was building something, not for the money, but to prove it to myself and no one else.
