The One Who Answered (Selichot: New Apologies)17 sept. 202600:25:29
To continue to receive updates from Selichot: New Apologies, subscribe here!

In this piyyut said whenever selichot are recited we ask G-d to answer our prayers just as he
answered the prayers of our Biblical ancestors from Avraham to Mordechai and Esther.
Fascinatingly, for many of those mentioned there is no indication in the text that they actually
prayed.

You Taught Us (Selichot: New Apologies)14 sept. 202600:18:39
Drawing on the notion that the Ten Days of Repentance were created even before the world
came into being, the poet urges us to take advantage of this special time when our prayers for
forgiveness are more readily accepted.

How Can Man Merit (Selichot: New Apologies)11 sept. 202600:21:24
In this selicha for the eve of Rosh Hashanah we confront the inevitability of death, yet through prayer and tzedakah, we can be amongst the righteous who even in death live on.

In today’s selicha, we place our unconditional trust in G-d’s salvation in the face of ongoing
persecution.
