Over three episodes, we’re going to show you what it takes to develop and roll out a new vaccine, why this one matters so much and how it could change the trajectory of human history. Malaria is one of the deadliest diseases of all time - responsible for more deaths than all of humanity's wars combined. That means that the arrival of not one, but two malaria vaccines has the potential to change the future of our species. 

In this first episode, we’ll show you what’s at stake for millions of families across Sub-Saharan Africa, explain the economic and personal cost, and describe how the world’s first vaccine for a parasitic disease made it out of the lab, through trials, and into the lives of mothers and babies across the continent.
