EP 144 | Why communicating expectations is not a one-and-done20 Nov 202500:17:41

In this episode, I’m talking about the frustration that comes when you’ve communicated something once… and then it slowly ends up back on your plate.

This is your reminder that communicating expectations isn’t a one and done job.

Especially when it comes to offloading your mental load in a way that actually lasts.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

- Why sharing your mental load doesn’t always “stick” the first time

- How to set expectations without burning out in the process

- What to do when the help you asked for boomerangs straight back

- How to keep going when it feels easier to “just do it yourself”

- Why persistence matters (and how to make it feel lighter)

If you’re in that frustrating cycle of communicating and then re-communicating (and wondering if it’s worth it), this episode will help you zoom out and refocus on the long term goal which is a mental load that’s actually shared, not just shuffled.

EP 143 | How to move through overthinking13 Nov 202500:15:33

In this episode, I’m talking about overthinking. Something that many mums wrestle with.

Whether it’s making a decision, starting something new, or figuring out what’s next, it can be easy to get stuck in the “thinking about it” phase and never actually move forward.

I’m talking through the link between perfectionist thinking and overthinking, why it’s not your fault, and how to gently get yourself out of the swirl and into momentum… one step at a time.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

- What overthinking really looks and feels like (especially in motherhood)

- Why your brain wants to stay stuck in the “thinking” phase

- What perfectionism has to do with it (and how to spot it)

- How to create a feeling of safety when making a decision

- What to do when fear of being misunderstood keeps you frozen

This episode is your reminder that you don’t need all the answers before you begin. You just need to take one small step, and trust yourself to figure out the next from there.

EP 142 | Creating yourself a happy list06 Nov 202500:13:30

In this episode, I’m talking about something simple yet powerful: creating a happy list for yourself.

This idea came from a sweet little moment with my son Freddie, and it reminded me how often we forget what makes us feel calm, lit-up or grounded especially when we are in the thick of motherhood.

When we get a moment to ourselves, it can feel impossible to choose something that actually refuels us because we’re so used to either giving our time away, or going blank when the moment finally arrives.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

- What a happy list is and why it’s so helpful for mums

- How to prep your brain ahead of time so you’re not frozen when you get a moment to yourself

- Why “making it tangible” is so important when it comes to lightening the mental load

- What to include on your list (and how to build it in a way that works)

- How I’m using this tool right now in my own life

Press play and start building your happy list with me.

EP 141 | What I’ve learned from welcoming our au pair30 Oct 202500:30:50

In this episode, I’m walking you through the process of welcoming an au pair into our family. I talk about what led to the decision, how we made it work, and the big (often unexpected) lessons I’ve learned along the way.

It’s not just about childcare. This season has brought up big things around capacity, communication, asking for support, and what it means to be resourceful *and* honest about your limits as a mum.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

- What pushed us to seek more support and why it wasn’t optional

- How I knew I had to communicate my needs more clearly (even when it felt uncomfortable)

- What I learned about receiving help and being open to community

- Why capable doesn’t have to mean silent, and how I practised being both

- What I’ll carry forward from this season, even beyond having an au pair

Whether you’re thinking about extra help or just need permission to say “this is too much,” this one is full of real talk and hard earned lessons and sharing the whole process with you.

Pop it in your ears now. I’m so glad we get to have these chats.

EP 140 | The perfectionism of the longing cycle23 Oct 202500:16:26

In this episode, I dig into the perfectionism that keeps so many of us in the cycle of waiting, hoping, and building up the longing for the perfect moment… only to freeze when the moment finally arrives.

You know that thing you’ve been dreaming about doing (the quiet solo coffee, that creative project, the time to just be?) This episode explores why it can feel easier to long for it than to actually do it.

And I share why disappointment doesn’t mean you’ve failed, it’s just part of the process.

This is something that has come up with a lot of my clients recently, so this is how I’ve coached them through it, and I hope it helps you too.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

- Why your brain keeps you stuck in the “if only…” loop

- What’s really underneath the pressure you put on solo time or hobbies

- How to spot if perfectionism is stopping you from taking action

- What to do when fear of disappointment holds you back

- A gentler, more sustainable way to get what you’re longing for

So if that is you and you find yourself sitting in the longing cycle and you find yourself stopping from taking action, just recognise that maybe just, maybe it is your brain keeping you safe, because it feels easier to sit in the longing than it does to feel the disappointment or the discouragement of taking action and it not being.

EP 139 | The best way to be kinder to yourself16 Oct 202500:18:26

This episode is about the best way to be kinder to yourself and how it has nothing to do with bubble baths or slowing down.

I talk about the power of giving yourself credit (genuinely, not just as a throwaway) and how to retrain your brain to actually see the good you do each day.

I share how this shift is possible for anyone, even if your default right now is self-doubt, harsh inner talk, or constantly focusing on what’s not working.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

- Why your brain overlooks the good stuff (and how to change that)

- How to know if your default thoughts are holding you back

- What language and tone you actually want to hear in your head

- How to start teaching your brain a new, kinder inner dialogue

- Simple ways to make self-kindness feel more concrete and natural

If you’ve ever wanted to be a bit nicer to yourself but didn’t know how to make it stick, this one will show you what that really looks like in everyday motherhood.

EP 138 | The impact of the saying ‘it is what it is’.09 Oct 202500:15:35

This episode is about a little phrase that gets thrown around a lot… “it is what it is.”

I’m talking about the impact this has on how we view our lives, how we settle for things that don’t feel good, and why that matters more than we often realise.

This episode is part soapbox, part pep talk and a whole lot of encouragement to question the stories we’ve been handed about how life has to feel.

If you’ve ever caught yourself thinking “maybe this is just how it is now,” I want you to listen to this one.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

- Why “it is what it is” can keep you stuck without even realising it

- What I’ve noticed when this phrase shows up in motherhood and adult life

- How I catch myself before settling into stress as the default

- What to do when your belief in possibility starts to feel shaky

- How to hold on to your own way of thinking (even when others don’t get it)

This episode will remind you that it’s okay to want it, and you’re allowed to go after it.

EP 137 | Building a journaling practice02 Oct 202500:15:48

In this episode, I’m diving into one of my absolute favourite mindset tools.

Journaling is something I’ve used for years to help unjumble my thoughts, find clarity, and stay connected to myself through the everyday chaos of motherhood.

Lately, I’ve had so many mums tell me they want to journal but feel unsure how to start or what it’s meant to look like.

So I’m keeping this episode short and simple, walking you through how I personally journal (no rules, no pressure), what it actually gives me, and a few other ways you can get the same outcome without picking up a pen.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

- Why journaling is one of my go to mindset tools

- What to focus on when you’re just starting

- How I use it to shift thoughts that aren’t helping me

- What to do if journaling isn’t your thing but you still want the benefits

- How to make it a habit without needing perfect conditions

If your head is feeling full and you’re craving a bit of space to think more clearly, this episode is for you.

EP 136 | What it feels like to be resourced25 Sep 202500:25:23

In this episode, I’m talking about something that shows up for every single mum I work with…resourcing yourself.

I’ve been in a season lately where I’ve felt really under resourced (read: depleted, stretched, frazzled, low on joy).

And I’m walking you through what that looks like in real life, how it shows up in sneaky ways, and how I’m choosing to shift back into a more supported, sustainable place, without waiting for the stars to align.

I share how I know when I’m sliding into that under resourced zone, what I do to gently bring myself back, and why imperfect action always wins.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

- What feeling under resourced actually looks and sounds like in everyday motherhood

- How to notice your own early warning signs before things boil over

- Why waiting for the “perfect time” to feel better isn’t helping you

- Simple shifts I’m making (that don’t require overhauling your life)

- What communication has to do with resourcing and how to do it well

This episode is your reminder that you are allowed to prioritise your needs and that when you do, it ripples out to everyone around you.

EP 135 | Connection vs Disconnection19 Sep 202500:20:05

This is one to tuck away for the next time you feel unsupported, frustrated, or like you’re doing it all.

In this episode, I share a pretty stressy moment from my own life.

It’s based on a recent (stressy) life admin moment that totally unravelled in our house. I walk you through how I found myself on the edge of disconnecting (big time), and what shifted when I chose to lean into connection instead.

I share how I coached myself in real time, what changed when I decided to move towards connection instead of away from it, and why it changed everything about how we got through it together.

If you’ve ever felt like you’ve got to fix the mess and manage the emotions too… this one will hit home.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

- What it looks like to choose connection in a moment of high stress

- Why disconnection can feel easier (but adds more emotional load)

- How to coach yourself when all you want to do is blame or shut down

- What to say or do when you feel unsupported

- How to build resilience in your relationships, especially when things go wrong

If you’ve ever thought, “Why is it always me who has to fix this?”, please listen to this one.

EP 134 | Pep Talk Series – Guilt Smother (Or whatever number we are up to!11 Sep 202500:14:24

This episode is the final pep talk in my little four-part series to celebrate A Mother’s Mind Membership becoming a self-paced course (which means you can now join anytime that works for you!)

Today I’m chatting about something I know every mum has felt at one time or another … guilt.

That heavy, annoying, quiet (or sometimes loud) companion that seems to show up uninvited, especially when we’re doing something for ourselves.

But what if zero guilt wasn’t the goal?

In this pep talk, I walk you through a totally different way of looking at guilt. One that gives you more space, more ease, and a whole lot more self-trust.

Pop this in your ears if guilt has been creeping in lately. This short episode will help you shift the weight of it, without piling on more.

EP 133 | Pep Talk Series - They Aren’t Mind Readers04 Sep 202500:12:01

This episode is the third pep talk in a little series I’m sharing to celebrate A Mother’s Mind Membership now being a self-paced course you can join anytime.

In this one, I talk about something I see all the time in my coaching… when we expect our people to just know what we need, how we’re feeling, or what’s going on in our head.

I share how that usually plays out (hello, silent resentment) and a few things you can try instead to feel more seen, heard and supported.

Short, practical and packed with love. Pop it in your ears when you need a reminder that you’re not alone.

EP 132 | Pep Talk Series - The Rush28 Aug 202500:12:20

We’ve hit week two of the pep talk series, and this one is for you if everything lately just feels… rushed.

This episode is a short and powerful reminder that the rush isn’t always about what’s happening around you but also about what your brain is telling you.

In this pep talk you will learn:

- Why rushing doesn’t come from your to-do list (but from what you’re *thinking*)

- How to use feeling rushed as your cue to slow down

- A calming moment to come back to yourself, even if the kids are yelling and the laundry’s not done

- Why slowing down is actually the key to *doing less*, not more

This one’s less than 10 minutes and will leave you breathing slower and thinking clearer.

EP 130 | Why I believe it is possible to switch your brain off14 Aug 202500:23:57

In this episode, I’m sharing why I believe it is possible to learn the skill of switching your brain off (even if it’s just for a moment) and why that belief has been one of the most important mindset shifts in my own motherhood journey.

There’s a deeply ingrained story in our culture, that a “good mum” always has a million tabs open in her mind.

Always on. Always thinking. Always holding it all.

But what if that didn’t have to be true?

In this episode, you will learn:

- The invisible rules we’ve absorbed about being a ‘switched on’ mum

- Why “mental load” doesn’t have to mean mental exhaustion

- How belief is the first (and most overlooked) step to change

- The difference between action and undercurrent belief

- How I started rewiring this belief in my own life (and how you can too)

This one might feel a bit stretchy, but it’s one I want you to hear, because this shift has changed how I show up in my day to day life in huge ways. And I believe it’s possible for you, too.

EP 129 | When to update your expectations07 Aug 202500:17:02

This episode is about recognising when it’s time to let go of the expectations you’re holding onto too tightly, especially the ones that no longer match your current season of life.

I share a real and recent shift in my own expectations around work, what led me to notice something was off, and how changing that one thing has lifted my mental load in big ways.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

- Why expectations (even helpful ones) can quietly become outdated

- The signs your expectations might need a refresh

- How unspoken rules you’ve set for yourself can quietly drain you

- What happened when I finally gave myself permission to update mine

- A simple question to ask when something just feels off

This is a must listen if you’re feeling stretched, mentally tapped out, or like you’re constantly wrestling with time.

EP 128 | Finding confidence through doing31 Jul 202500:10:47

This is a short, punchy, powerful reminder of an episode that you need to hear about building confidence for yourself.

We so often remind our kids that learning takes time, that it’s okay to make mistakes, that it’s normal to feel unsure before you feel strong… but we forget to extend the same grace to ourselves.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

- Why waiting until you “feel ready” can keep you stuck

- How doing the thing (even when it’s imperfect) leads to clarity and confidence

- A permission slip to try the thing, take the step, or just have a go

You don’t need a full plan. You just need the first step.

EP 127 | A simple practice to shift your internal dialogue24 Jul 202500:50:35

This episode is about the smallest habit that’s changed the way I talk to myself and why it matters more than you think.

Over the years I’ve seen how easy it is for mums to fall into a pattern of harsh inner talk… especially when everything feels hard and no one else can see what you’re carrying.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

- How your internal dialogue shapes how you feel each day

- The difference between being kind to your kids vs being kind to yourself

- How your brain starts to search for what you focus on

- The real reason you need a practice that celebrates your daily wins

EP 126 | The one rule I have before making change17 Jul 202500:22:38

In this episode, I share the one rule I’ve now committed to before making any major shift and how it’s helped me find clarity without burning everything down just to get relief.

Because when you’re juggling sick kids, work, life admin, and zero breathing space, it’s very easy to want to burn it all down and start fresh.

But here’s what I’ve learnt, over and over again:

Any decision made from burnout or depletion is never going to be your highest quality choice.

In this episode you’ll learn:

- What happens when every plate in your life is spinning at once

- The conversations that reminded me what I actually want

- My go to for checking my own capacity that you can easily use for yourself too

-The rule I now stick to before I make any big decision

If you’re feeling the pull to change something big in your life, this is a powerful place to pause before you act.

EP 125 | How and why to value being unproductive10 Jul 202500:21:56

This episode is about giving ourselves permission to stop chasing outcomes all the time.

If your days feel rushed, your mind is noisy, and your calendar never has room for you, I want you to listen to this.

Because I’ve been challenging my own thoughts around what it means to be ‘productive’, and I’ve seen how much more capacity and calm shows up when I stop trying to earn my rest or justify my joy.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

- Why you can often resist doing things that don’t lead to a clear outcome

- What happens when you only see value in being busy

- How identity, perfectionism and worthiness sneak into the way you spend your time

- A simple question that can help you find you, without needing a reason.

- What unstructured, ‘non-productive’ time actually gives you

- How I’ve started shifting the way I talk about my days, and why that matters

If you’ve ever said “I’d love to… but I just don’t have time”, please listen to this one.

EP 124 | The one question to use to make progress03 Jul 202500:06:49

This episode is a quick one, but a good one.

It’s for those moments where you’re stuck in indecision. Feeling vague. Swirling around in your thoughts but not actually making any progress. I’ve been there. So many of my clients have too.

So today I’m sharing one question I use again and again with myself, and with the mums I work with, that helps shift the fog and get you back into action.

Here’s what you’ll learn:

- How to catch yourself when your brain is stuck in drama or indecision

- The power of asking *just one* clarifying question

- Why your brain might resist giving you an answer (and how to gently move past it)

- What to do when you don’t feel ready to make a decision but know you can’t stay where you are

Enjoy!

EP 123 | How to improve your communication26 Jun 202500:23:09

This episode is about communication and how creating a more intentional “communication landscape” can help you feel more heard, supported and connected in your relationships.

Have you ever had one of those moments where you’re trying to explain how you feel… and it’s like talking to a brick wall?

It’s frustrating. And exhausting. Especially when the mental load is already sky high and you’re craving just a little bit of support.

That’s exactly what I unpacked in this week’s podcast episode. Why communication can be so hard even with the people we love most, and how to make it feel lighter, calmer and more productive.

Here’s what you’ll learn:

- Why poor communication can amplify your mental load

- The two most common (and unhelpful) ways we tend to react when communication breaks down

- What a “communication landscape” is and how to build one

- A simple mindset shift to reduce resentment and feel more supported

- Real-life examples of what this work looks like in action

- A powerful question to ask to help any conversation land better

This episode will help you rethink the way you approach communication so it becomes a tool for connection rather than conflict.

EP 121 | How to get what you want even when it’s not what you planned19 Jun 202500:19:54

This episode is about what happens when life doesn’t go to plan, and how to still get the outcome you want, even if it looks different than you expected.

I’m walking you through a real and current situation in my own life (motherhood, work, and support needs with a travelling husband and two toddlers) and what I’m learning about letting go of rigid expectations in favour of resourcefulness, flexibility and creativity.

Here’s what you’ll learn:

- What I realised when I was too attached to a specific solution

- How that thinking shut down my problem solving brain

- The mindset shift can help you stay open to other possibilities.

- Why flexibility matters more than following a ‘perfect plan’

- A real-life example of how staying open sparked a new opportunity

- Questions you can ask yourself to loosen the grip on a set outcome

If you’re working towards something right now but it’s not unfolding how you imagined, this episode will help you see where possibility still lives, and how you can tap into it today.

EP 120 | How to simplify mindset work to achieve a result12 Jun 202500:17:07

This episode is about dropping the pressure of what mindset work should look like and finding what actually works for you.

I walk through the most common mental blocks that stop mums from doing mindset work at all and offer simple, practical alternatives you can start using right away.

Whether it’s journaling, voice notes or just making space to think, I’m showing you how to make mindset work accessible so you can feel better without needing more time, energy or quiet.

Here’s what you’ll learn:

- Why the “perfect” way to do mindset work is stopping you from starting

- How to simplify mindset work and still see real results

- What to do when journaling feels too hard (or like it has to be done a certain way)

- How I use different strategies throughout my day to check in with myself

- When your brain convinces you you’re not doing it ‘right’ and how to push back

- A mindset shift that could ease your mental load immediately

This is about creating space in your day to reflect and support yourself, in a way that fits your life as it is right now.

EP 119 | How believing in the possibility increases your capacity05 Jun 202500:21:07

This episode is about the link between what you believe is possible and the capacity you actually feel you have.

If you’ve ever told yourself “I’m already at capacity”, this one will gently challenge that and offer you a new way to see what might be available to you.

What you’ll learn:

- Why the thought “this is just too much” often limits what’s actually possible

- What changes when you believe ease could be on the table

- How we unconsciously cap our capacity through old thinking patterns

- The difference between doing more and holding more

- A simple way to start challenging the thoughts that make everything feel so heavy

This episode will help you shift from just getting through the day, to seeing the possibility that more ease, more energy, more you could be available right now.

EP 118 | How to actually regulate your emotions29 May 202500:26:39

This episode is about what emotional regulation actually looks like in the middle of real life , when your day doesn’t go to plan and your tear ducts have other ideas.

In this episode, I’m sharing:

- Why emotional regulation isn’t about holding it all together

- How to feel your feelings *without* them taking over your day

- What a “teary day” taught me about growth, grief, and being a mum

- How showing your emotions can help your kids (and your connections)

- Why feeling more doesn’t mean you’re falling apart

If you’re the kind of mum who’s used to holding it in, powering through, or shelving your feelings to keep everything running – this one’s for you.

EP 116 | The Impact of Decision Fatigue on Your Mental Load15 May 202500:13:30

Ever get to the end of the day and feel like your brain is just… done?

Like you’ve used up all your words, all your patience, and every last drop of decision making power?

You’re not imagining it. That’s decision fatigue and if you’re a mum, it’s very real.

That’s not just tiredness, that’s your brain running out of capacity after making hundreds (if not thousands) of micro-decisions all day long, for you, your kids, your home, your work.

I’m chatting through one of the most common reasons we feel mentally exhausted (even when the day itself didn’t seem that full). I’m breaking down what decision fatigue actually is, how it ties into the mental load, and why it’s not just about “being tired”.

What you’ll learn:

- What decision fatigue really is and why it hits mothers so hard

- The ripple effect it has on how we feel day-to-day

- How your brain reacts to “big” decisions when it’s already running on empty

- A practical strategy to stop circling in indecision and finally make a call

- Why doing “nothing” is one of the most productive ways to refill your capacity

- How to spot when your mental load needs a reset—before you hit burnout

If your head feels full and you’ve been circling the same decision for weeks, this episode is your circuit breaker.

Listen in and give your brain the breather it’s quietly begging for.

EP 115 | How to embrace the messy middle08 May 202500:17:37

In this episode, I’m talking about the real pressure so many of us feel, to tidy up the mess, to make things look “presentable,” to smooth out our rough edges when what we really need is permission to be in the thick of it.

I recorded this after a weekend spent building a very rustic, very muddy mud kitchen with my kids. It was messy. It didn’t match the perfectly styled cubby house next to it.

In this episode, I share:

- The unexpected moment that helped me reframe my own perfectionist thinking

- How the pressure to make things “look good” adds unnecessary weight to your mental load

- Why I’m choosing to leave our mud kitchen exactly as it is (and what it’s teaching me)

- The sneaky ways we polish ourselves up to meet invisible expectations

- What it means to intentionally choose discomfort

- How letting things be messy can actually feel lighter than constantly trying to make them better

If you’ve ever felt like you’re constantly smoothing the chaos just to feel “enough,” this one’s for you.

Sometimes the most powerful shift we can make is simply deciding that the messy middle isn’t a problem to fix.

EP 114 | Why the grass is green exactly where you are01 May 202500:13:20

In this episode, I share the mindset shift that’s helped me shake off that “meh” feeling and reconnect with how much I actually love the life I’ve built.

If your brain is whispering, “remember when…” or “I wish things were different,” this one’s for you.

You don’t need to overhaul your life to feel more grounded and fulfilled.

What you’ll learn:

- Why it’s so easy to long for a different version of your life (even when you’re living the one you chose)

- The sneaky thoughts that creep in when things feel heavy, and how to spot them

- What I do every single morning to shift my mindset in less than 5 minutes

- How asking one question helped me go from low and flat… to deeply fulfilled

- A simple mindset reframe that reminds you how green your grass already is

If you’ve been feeling stuck in the grind, take a listen.

EP 113 | Expanding your capacity through your thinking24 Apr 202500:21:02

Capacity is one of my absolute favourite things to talk about (and think about). Because it comes up all the time.

One of the most common things I hear from the mums I work with is this.

I just don’t have the capacity.

Not enough energy. Not enough space. Not enough time.

Capacity isn’t about doing more. It’s not even about time or energy. It’s about the way you think about those things.

In this episode, I walk you through how I’ve shifted my thinking to expand capacity in motherhood and how you can too. I share examples from my own week, what it looks like in real life (with little people in tow), and why our default thoughts often make us feel more depleted than we actually are.

What you’ll learn:

– Why it feels like you never have enough capacity (and why so many mums feel the same)

– What the difference is between capacity and energy

– Why your brain keeps telling you you’re full

– How you can add more breathing room into your week without changing anything thing on the calendar

– How to spot the sneaky thoughts that drain your mental load without you realising

– What to do when you want more space in your day but can’t take anything off your plate

If your week feels like one long game of catch up and you’re craving breathing room, this episode will help you find it.

EP 112 | How to embrace the world around you17 Apr 202500:11:44

In this episode, I talk about how I may have been opportunities in my every day life to fill my cup, to feel more nourished, to feel more connected, and I wanted to share it with you now.

I share how a simple moment on a plane reminded me to take the blinkers off and rejoin the world around me.

Motherhood can feel noisy, overstimulating and full. So it makes sense that when we get a moment to ourselves, we want to block it all out.

But what if those small, fleeting moments with strangers, at the cafe, at the park, on a plane, are actually what we need to feel more alive, more connected, more full?

What you’ll learn in this episode:

– Why I’ve unintentionally pulled back from connection

– How small interactions can create big feelings of fulfilment

– What I’m reminding myself now when I’m tempted to shut the world out

– The unexpected shift that’s helping me feel more energised in motherhood

If you’ve felt disconnected lately, this episode is your gentle nudge back into the world.

In this episode, I walk through the mindset shifts I’m making as I prepare for a stretch of solo weekends and why I want them to feel lighter, more connected and even… fun.

Solo parenting on the weekend can feel heavy. A bit like a bubble life.

What you’ll learn:

- Why solo doesn’t have to mean lonely

- How I’m shifting out of survival mode and into possibility

- What I’m doing to bring connection and cup-filling moments into weekends

EP 109 | How to believe in the capability of others27 Mar 202500:16:08

Sometimes, without meaning to, we take on more than we need to.

We step in, organise, and micromanage because it feels easier in the moment. But in doing that, we unknowingly minimise the capability of those around us.

In this episode, I share a personal story that made me stop and realise how I was holding onto control at the expense of trusting others.

I walk you through how shifting this mindset has made my mental load lighter and my time away from my family feel easier.

What you’ll learn:

- How we accidentally deskill the people around us

- Why letting go of control can actually lighten your mental load

- What happens when you start trusting others to step up

- A simple mindset shift that makes sharing responsibilities feel easier

- If you feel like everything rests on your shoulders, take a listen.

EP 108 | Just because you think it, doesn’t mean it’s true.20 Mar 202500:19:03

Just because a thought pops into your head doesn’t mean it’s true.

Sometimes, without realising it, we often accept our thoughts as facts.

In this episode, I share how our thoughts shape the way we feel each day and what happens when we start questioning them.

I walk you through a simple way to notice unhelpful thoughts and swap them for ones that actually support you.

Here’s what you’ll learn:

- How your brain tricks you into believing things that aren’t true

- Why challenging your thoughts can change how you feel

- A simple way to shift your thinking each day

- Why I use journaling to check in with my thoughts (and how you can too!).

- If your thoughts are making things feel harder than they need to be, this episode will help.

EP 107 | How to offload your mental load successfully13 Mar 202500:15:56

How many times have you tried to offload part of your mental load, only for it to boomerang straight back onto your plate?

Maybe you asked for help, but then felt like you had to micromanage the whole thing.

Maybe you held back some details because you had to figure it out the hard way, so why shouldn’t they?

Or maybe you just thought, it’s easier if I do it myself.

I hear this all the time from my clients. And I’ve been there too.

If the goal is to actually share the load (not just temporarily shift it before it ends up back on you), then it has to be done in a way that sets everyone up for success.

And this episode shows you how.

Here’s what you’ll learn:

- Why you can sometimes (accidentally) set others up for failure when offloading responsibilities

- The importance of creating a communication landscape that actually works

- How to share all the necessary details so tasks are truly off your plate

- What to do when resentment creeps in (because it will!)

If you want your mental load to feel lighter for the long haul, this episode is a must-listen.

EP 106 | How family is only one part of the equation13 Mar 202500:15:52

There’s this unspoken pressure that we should want to be with our kids 24/7, that the best mums are the ones who dedicate every moment to their family.

Your family is just one part of the equation.

And when you allow yourself to embrace all the parts that make you you, you don’t just benefit, your family does too.

In this episode, I’m talking about:

- Why time alone (or time away from your family) isn’t selfish

- How your family is one (very big, very beautiful) part of the equation, but not the whole equation

- What happens when you allow yourself to be a full, whole person, not just a mum

A simple mindset shift to help you let go of the guilt and prioritise yourself.

If you’ve ever felt guilty for loving time to yourself, this episode is for you.

EP 105 | Why it doesn’t have to feel so hard27 Feb 202500:13:30

If motherhood (or life in general) feels hard right now, this episode is here to remind you, nothing has gone wrong.

In this episode ,I share how feeling hard is part of the journey, not a sign that something is wrong. I talk about how our busy lives can make us think that if things feel tough, we are not enough. But really, hard times give us a chance to learn and grow.

In this episode, you will learn:
-How can you see hard times as normal?
- Why does feeling hard not mean you are failing?
- What can you do when you feel overwhelmed?
- How can you be kinder to yourself when things are tough?

This episode is a gentle reminder that hard does not mean wrong. It is simply part of life. Give it a listen to hear my own experience and learn simple ways to ease the pressure.

EP 102 | The power of forgiving yourself06 Feb 202500:18:40

In this episode, I share a simple but powerful exercise that helped me release the pressure I’d been carrying.

It’s something I come back to again and again when I feel stuck, and today, I’m passing it on to you.

We hold ourselves to such high standards, often without realising how much they’re dragging us down.

And when we don’t meet them? We double down, push harder, and end up feeling like we’re failing.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

  • - How unrealistic expectations can creep up and start running the show

  • - Why holding onto guilt keeps you stuck in the same patterns

  • - The simple journaling exercise that I use to let go of the pressure

  • - How forgiving yourself can actually create more progress, not less

  • - Why change doesn’t have to be complicated or exhausting

  • If you want support with your mindset and mental load as a mum, I can help.

EP 101 | How to create rest as a normal part of motherhood30 Jan 202500:28:02

We’ve been taught that being busy means we’re doing motherhood right.

But what if rest wasn’t something you had to earn? What if it was just… normal?

That’s exactly what I’m unpacking in this episode.

If I want my kids to grow up believing that rest is a natural and necessary part of life, I have to model it for them, not just tell them it’s important while I run myself into the ground.

    In this episode, you’ll learn:

    - How rest doesn’t need to be something you feel guilty about - and why it needs to change if it is.

    - Why sacrificing everything for your kids isn’t the legacy you want to leave.

    - The small but powerful shifts you can make to model rest as normal.

    - How to challenge the urge to always be busy, especially when it feels uncomfortable to stop.

    - Why your kids need to see you relax just as much as they need to see you achieve.

    - How to care so damn well for yourself that the next generation will grow up seeing this as the most normal thing to do.

Remember - rest is not lazy or optional. The more you practice it, the more normal it will feel.

    EP 100 | Celebrating episode 10023 Jan 202500:20:10

We’ve made it! This is the 100th episode of A Mother’s Mind, and I’m wearing my party hat (literally).

This milestone isn’t just about the number. It’s about the connection, growth, and moments of reflection we’ve shared.

In today’s episode, I’m getting a little sentimental.

But I’m also sharing something powerful - How to truly sit in your milestones and celebrate the wins, big or small.

Because let’s face it, we’re often so focused on what’s next that we forget to stop and say, Wow, look at what I’ve done.

I’ll also walk you through some reflection questions I’ve been journaling on this week, that you can use too. Whether it’s a year of motherhood, a career goal, or just surviving a tough season.

    In this episode, you’ll learn:

    - Why celebrating your milestones is so important.

    - How to reflect meaningfully instead of rushing onto the next thing.

    - The questions I ask myself to soak in the moment - How living in the moment makes the journey as fulfilling as the destination.

If you’ve been pushing through life without pausing to celebrate, this episode will be your permission slip to slow down and savour those achievements.

Whether it’s your child’s first step, a big work milestone, or just making it through a hectic week, every win deserves to be acknowledged.

Here’s to 100 episodes—and all the little moments worth celebrating along the way!

    EP 99 | Impact of Gratitude16 Jan 202500:17:59

Starting a gratitude practice could be one of the simplest yet most powerful changes you make this year.

It’s a practical way to shift how you feel and experience your daily life.

In this episode, I explain how gratitude can help you feel more present, fulfilled, and energised, even in the midst of motherhood chaos.

This is your reminder to stop overlooking the small things. Because when you train your brain to notice the good, it changes everything.

    In this episode, you’ll learn:

    - How a simple gratitude practice can shift your mindset and mental load.

    - Why you often default to the “drama” and how to counter it.

    - Specific areas to help you find more to be grateful for

    - How to build gratitude into your daily routine without overcomplicating it.

    EP 98 | Starting the year off with a bang.09 Jan 202500:17:28

This episode is all about creating a clear vision for the year ahead. Whether 2024 was a whirlwind, a slog, or somewhere in between, now is the perfect time to pause, reflect, and look forward with intention.

I’m sharing a powerful journaling exercise that has become my annual tradition. This has helped me (and my clients) create lives that feel more aligned, purposeful, and joy filled.

This isn’t about perfection. It’s about taking time to dream and then using that vision as a gentle guide throughout the year.

    Here’s what you’ll learn:

    - How to step into December 2025 and write from that perspective.

    - Why getting granular in your vision can make a difference.

    - What specific areas of your life to reflect on

    - How this exercise can influence your decisions and actions over the year.

Set aside a little time this week to try this for yourself.

Grab a notebook and pen, settle into a quiet spot, and let yourself dream big.

By the end, you’ll have a clearer sense of what you want 2025 to look and feel like and a guide to help you get there.

    EP 97 | Reflecting on 202419 Dec 202400:25:20

2024 has been a year of big lessons, small wins, and plenty of messy moments. In this episode, I’m sharing the top takeaways from my own life, my work with clients, and the themes that kept popping up in A Mother’s Mind.

These are the bits I know I’ll carry with me into the next year—and I think you’ll find them helpful too.

    Here’s what you’ll learn:

  • - Why kindness always wins and why how you speak to yourself matters just as much as what you say to those around you

  • - What strategies you can use to take small steps when the big picture feels overwhelming

  • - Why talking openly with the people in your life (even when it’s uncomfortable) makes your mental load more sustainable.

  • - A simple but powerful way to notice the good and keep going, even when life feels full to the brim.

  • - Why messing up and being vulnerable are part of growth and what happens when you stop making them “bad”.

  • This episode is your chance to pause and reflect on the year you’ve had, what’s worked for you, and what you’d like to bring into the next one.

It’s a simple way to make space for the lessons—without pressure or perfection. I’ll be back in 2025, ready to share more with you.

EP 96 | How to approach being lost in motherhood12 Dec 202400:25:04

In this episode, I’m talking about the concept of feeling lost in motherhood and, more importantly, why it’s ok if you don’t have all the answers right now.

Being a mum is amazing, but it’s also full of shifts and changes that can leave us questioning who we are now, what we want and where we are going.

Whether you’re in the early days of motherhood or facing a new season of change, this episode is here to remind you that there’s no rush to have it all figured out.

    Here’s what you’ll learn:

    - Why it’s ok (and necessary) to sit in uncertainty and give yourself time.

    - How letting go of that pressure can lead to clarity over time.

    - Practical ways to support yourself when life feels unclear or directionless.

    - How to find people who can support you without jumping straight to solutions.

Motherhood takes time and being in the messy middle is ok. Supporting yourself with kindness and curiosity during this time can make all the difference.
Wherever you are right now is exactly where you need to be.

EP 95 | The emotional load of holding space for others05 Dec 202400:38:22

Motherhood is filled with so much invisible work, and one of the hardest parts is holding space for the emotions of those around us, while also managing our own.

This episode is about the emotional load of holding space for others. The unseen labour of supporting others’ feelings as well as your own which can leave you feeling completely drained.

I share my own recent experience of feeling stretched while managing my toddler’s big emotions (and my own!) and the shifts I made to support myself better.

    Here’s what you’ll learn

    - What the emotional load really is, and why it often falls on mothers

    - How I reflect on my own emotional load and the strategies I use to lighten it

    - How to give yourself permission to manage the load imperfectly

Whether it’s your kids, partner, family, or even friends and colleagues, the emotional load can feel overwhelming. But there are ways to ease the weight and show up as the version of yourself you want to be, without sacrificing your own mental wellbeing.

EP 94 | How to cope with your mum rage28 Nov 202400:25:02

In this episode, I’m talking coping with “mum rage.”

I know it’s something that isn’t often talked about, but these intense moments of frustration happen and we’re not alone in feeling this way.

I found myself facing it head on, feeling overwhelmed and frustrated, and it made me realise how crucial it is to understand what’s going on underneath.

In this episode, I’ll walk you through what that moment looked like for me, why I reacted the way I did, and, most importantly, how I shifted my mindset around it.

If you’re feeling stretched to breaking point or snapping at the ones you love, this episode is for you.

    Here’s what you’ll learn:

    - Why ‘mum rage’ is more common than you think  and why experiencing it doesn’t mean you’re doing motherhood wrong

    - What really causes those intense moments and how to recognise the tiny leaks in your mental load and energy that can lead to ovewhelm.

    - How I realised when your “cup is slowly draining” and why it’s a powerful reminder to check in with your needs

    - Why self compassion and role modelling are so important for your kids in these moments.

    - Why it’s okay to feel frustrated and how acknowledging these feelings helps you manage them better.

If you’re wrestling with mum rage or feeling like you’re barely keeping it together, I hope this episode reassures you that there’s nothing wrong with feeling this way, and we can all work through it, one day at a time.
