018 - Luke Williams - Atlanta Braves Major League Baseball Player10 Mar 202501:40:09

This week we have Luke Williams, Major League Baseball player for the Atlanta Braves join the show.

Luke was originally drafted out of high school to the Philadelphia Phillies and eventually debuted with them in 2021. Since then, he has made appearances with numerous teams, such as the Giants, Marlins and Dodgers.

Luke and I had a brief stint together in San Francisco in the summer of 2022. One of my first memories of Luke was a hike in Cleveland, Ohio. He didn’t talk much, but he had a camera with him as I observed him observing. I noticed a calm presence and keen eye for nature. His awareness and depth of thought sparked my curiosity. We became friends and have stayed in touch ever since.

The guy is a speedster on the diamond but a stoic in thought. We discussed flow state, maturity, and evolution of performance. Enjoy this discussion with the California native.

010 - Alex Wood - 12-Year Major League Baseball Pitcher, MLB All-Star, and World Series Champion with the Los Angeles Dodgers10 Feb 202501:13:18

In this episode, we bring the big lefty, Alex Wood. Alex is well thought out and observant of the world around him. Fortunately, I've been able to know him for a few years now, and considering guests for the show, Woody was a no-brainer.

Alex has accumulated 12 Major League Baseball Seasons so far in his career and has been to three World Series, winning one of them with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2020. A Major League All-Star, we dive deep into the intentions behind discipline.    He brings a tenacity and focus to his craft that is primarily credited to the mundane consistency of following the process. However, the articulation of breaking down experiences continuously stands out to me when speaking with him. It's hard to substitute experience under extreme pressure in any field, and Alex has had a front-row seat to some of the most intense environments created in sports. Alex has a soothing aura in those paramount moments as he attributes his success to the basic principles of focusing attention on daily work.

006 - Brandon Crawford - 2x World Series Champion, 3x MLB All-Star and 4x MLB Gold Glove Recipient27 Jan 202501:00:22

In this episode, we had the opportunity to sit down with 14-year Major League Veteran Mr. Brandon Crawford. I first met Brandon in 2021 with the San Francisco Giants. He was a veteran in the clubhouse and a staple at shortstop for the organization. His sustainability created 1,617 starts at the position and set a franchise record while being the only shortstop to start 12 opening days for the team. His accolades and milestones are well deserved and provide insights into his iconic career. However, his approach to the game and life truly stands out when you hear him speak.

His ability to know who he is, keep things simple, and live from a place of virtue are what inspires. Listen carefully as Brandon describes moments of adversity and how he handled turmoil. We rarely have a moment to peel into the mind of a master, incredibly fresh off a retirement and a life he knew for so long. When we sit back, we realize how he kept the main thing, the main thing. These lessons and tokens of wisdom pour over us immensely throughout the show.
