Now before i run you off bc why is it important to you...hear me out. We don't know where our God calling will lead us when we first acknowledge we have one. I talk about the journey and process I have been on and how it started with taking a bold step to whisper to a good friend what I kept hearing God say into my "knower" that one day I would speak on a stage. I explore the concept of reality checks that often hinder individuals from pursuing their dreams and purpose. I want to emphasize that having a dream is not selfish but rather a reflection of the unique gifts and talents bestowed upon us by God. By following these dreams, not only do we find personal fulfillment, but we also have the opportunity to positively impact and serve others. This is what I lovingly have dubbed this time of year because it seems like everything starts to sprint to summer. Schools have LOTS of things going on (why do they cram all of it in the last few weeks? They KNOW it's coming every year 🤷🏼♀️). The grass is growing; weeds are growing... we feel the pressure to come out of our winter cocoons and move. Please tell me that I'm not the only one who gets focused and gets things going only to find that my priorities and balance are out of wack! In today's episode, I share a real moment. This happens every once in a while where I have to recenter, refocus, but this time, I didn't see it coming. I mean, I do this for a LIVING and I still got blind-sided. It is so important to we not only identify our core values and priorities but that we live them daily. Our purpose is not outside our values...it's a part of them. As we discover our purpose and how to live it we need to remember to stay connected with what is important...our why should NOT be left behind for our purpose. "Pain is not your purpose, and it can help to draw it out and strengthen it." ~Tami Imlay 200 EPISODES!!! I cannot believe we made it! I want to first say thank you because I could NOT have done it without you! The fact that this podcast continues to rank in the top 2% of the world is such a God thing and I know it wouldn't happen if you did not tune in and listen every week. So thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to step into my purpose and calling. In this episode, I reflect on the journey of over 200 episodes and how it all started with "Her Restored Spirit" and now I get to Step into the "Full Weight of Joy" every day. We all have beliefs...and we all have limiting beliefs. Those pesky "seemingly true" statements that our hearts speak to us as we are taking steps to get uncomfortable. Pain does not define us; it is not the purpose of our lives. Instead of dwelling on our pain, we should focus on growth and beauty. Our purpose is not limited to our pain; it encompasses who we are before, during, and after it. Finding meaning and purpose within our pain should be our goal. Even in similar circumstances, two people can have different purposes. Our purpose is a culmination of our past, present, and future selves. It is important to acknowledge where we are today and what we want to do with our purpose. One moment or pain does not define us; we have the power to choose our purpose. Seeking help can assist us in discovering and embracing our purpose. Let go of pain and embrace joy and fulfillment in living out our purpose. There has not been a single rerun episode (I'm not saying that I won't ever do them...but so far, God has provided inspiration and direction for each one). Today, I'm diving into a question that I got: "Why is it so hard to find your purpose?" I share my take on this question and dive into the possibility that it's not actually the right question we should be answering. What if we stay focused on WHAT our purpose is because it lets us off the hook of taking steps toward it? Just a question...no shade thrown. I had to get real with myself. We emphasize and focus on FINDING our purpose so much that most don't go further than that. Don't be like that- get out of your comfort zone and take a leap of faith. Listen in! Key Takeaway:

"By recognizing past experiences, you can build confidence in your future self!" ~Tami Man, sometimes our self-doubt creeps in, and we allow it to stop us in our tracks. We can work towards something AND STILL a moment of reality, a moment of weakness and BAM- we doubt ourselves. It is normal AND we have to put it in its' place so it doesn't control us! In this episode, I share about a client named Sara and her struggle with self-doubt and feeling inadequate. She worked for months learning and planning for a promotion. She took classes, worked on personal development, and stepped up at work to get noticed. She landed the promotion, and though she was ready, self-doubt reared its ugly head. I walk you through the three steps that Sara and I took and that I have taken many of my clients through! Listen in and see how you can use these three simple questions to kick self-doubt to the curb. Journal Question: Reflect on a time when you felt inadequate or doubted your abilities. Identify the specific aspects of your doubts and concerns, find evidence of past success in similar situations, and consider taking action to prove your capabilities. Have you heard of the Imposter Syndrome? I KNOW! Who hasn't right? Well, today I want to share a story about a client named Emma. She came to me because she had a big God-dream and was plagued with Imposter Syndrome. We dive into 5 of the root causes of imposter syndrome and how to overcome them. It will emphasize the importance of separating one's worth from their skills, accepting praise, and embracing unique perspectives. The episode will highlight the negative impact of imposter syndrome on personal growth and success and urge listeners to address and define it in order to overcome it. I share some of my own experiences and offer guidance and support to help others navigate through imposter syndrome. I want to leave you with encouragement to take some action, choose joy and start achieving your goals! "Understanding motivations is the key to compassionate and effective relationships." ~Tami Imlay Hey Friend! Are you a people watcher? I am. I love watching what people are doing...not to judge. I really try hard to not judge (everyone is fighting their own battles) but I watch to understand. I want to understand why I am thinking what I am thinking and shifting my responses- on purpose! Well in today's episode, I had a question come in about just this. "Hey Tami- What do you mean by understanding other's motivations?" So I had the privilege of diving in. I come at this from the perspective of the Enneagram and having compassion for others! So listen in! We are flying through January, and for me, it is always a time to reflect. How are things going? Am I on the right path? Am I pursuing my goals, vision, dreams, and intentions, OR do I even still want them? Are you asking any of these questions? In today's episode, I dive into how you can know if it's time to pivot. So grab your coffee (or tea), a piece of paper, and a pen, and let's answer some questions together! The podcast episode discusses the concept of knowing when it's time to pivot or make a change in one's life. Tami emphasizes the importance of giving oneself grace and recognizing that the outcomes of actions are not always known until the end. Small shifts and changes can lead to significant results. | 3 Things to Leave in 2023 and Not Take with You in 2024 | 01 Jan 2024 | 00:26:13 | |
Every year I like to take time to look at what my "glows and grows" were from the previous 12 months. I love setting aside time in December and reflect on the year and how it went...what went well (glows) and what did not (grows). I take time to review my small wins that I spent each day, week, and month writing. I look at the struggles and how I overcame them. I started last year (2022- so I guess 2 years ago 🤪) intentionally looking at what I wanted to take with me into the next year and what I wanted to leave behind. In this episode I share 3 things that I am boldly leaving behind as we enter 2024. I challenge you to listen and decide for yourself what do you want to set down and not pick back up? Listen to my 3 things and allow them to either inspire you to create your own or consider if one of these would be on your list as well. My intention was the end the podcast with 2 journal questions and since I forgot- I'm writing it here. "What are three 'Yeah, buts' that I often use as excuses or limiting beliefs in my life? How can I reframe them into proactive language and take actionable steps towards overcoming them?"
