Ian Fisher

Welcome back Dirtbags! I hope you’re having a great week. I’m super excited to be back this week with an all new episode of the podcast. I’m really sorry that we were off last week but I had far too much on my plate to get an Episode out in time, so if you were forced to listen to the sound of your tires on the blacktop on your instead of my dumb voice on your commute last thursday…you’re welcome I guess?

Adrian + Meredith

jeudi 3 octobre 2024Duration 01:21:57

What's up dirtbags! I had the best time with my guests this week. So much so that they convinced me to fly down to Nashville last minute to hang out with them during Americanafest. These two are hardcore road hounds and the sweetest people you'll ever meet. Very grateful to have had them on the podcast and to be able to call them my friends!

Cody Reed (Visceral Musings, Negative Thirty-Two)

jeudi 1 août 2024Duration 01:57:43

Hello my fellow Dirtbags!

This episode was a whole lotta fun. I've known Cody for 5 or 6 years now and the more I get to know him the more I think he's rad as fuck. We grew up in the same corner of Arizona but he's about 10 years younger than me. What I noticed most about Cody when I first met him was his passion for the music he plays and the bands he's played in, and watching him live has always been pretty infectious. You can tell he's not someone who takes the opportunity to perform lightly and tries to make the most of it each time he gets. Cody has recently started his own podcast, Visceral Musings, and I was lucky enough to be a guest on there recently, so it was nice to flip the script back around and be interviewing him this time around. I hope you all dig it!

Check out Visceral Musings on Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts!

Genevieve Smith ReAir

jeudi 25 juillet 2024Duration 01:59:43

What's up dirtbags! This is one of my all-time favorite interviews and I felt like it's a really good time to hear this conversation with my friend Genevieve Smith. We recorded this in the late summer of 2020 and so much of what we talk about is still very relevant now. Genevieve has always been good at reminding me to stay hopeful, and I hope this conversation does the same for you.

You can find out more about what Genevieve is up to by going to her website.

Mark Ricks Returns (Chuck Update)

jeudi 18 juillet 2024Duration 01:21:23

This episode is kinda unique. My friend and business partner in Burro Borracho Records, Mark Ricks aka MC Busstop interviewed me while I was in the middle of a crazy touring run last year after I had been robbed in San Francisco. This is that interview, but because it's over a year old, I decided to cut in some new updates throughout the episode to kind of get you up to speed on what's been going on in my world since we went off the air last year. If you're a long time listener or fan of my music, I think you'll dig this episode a lot. If you're interested in what it's like being a DIY touring musician with all of the unpredictable ups & downs you'll probably really dig this one as well.

Burro Borracho Records recently put out our friend Regan Ashton's debut full length record "Infinite Pest" on vinyl, you should buy it!

You can also listen to it on Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube.

Jordan Jensen ReAir (From Election Day 2020)

jeudi 11 juillet 2024Duration 02:24:49

Jordan Jensen is one of the funniest people I've ever had the pleasure to meet. We recorded this podcast a week or two before the 2020 election and it's crazy to listen to it now nearly 4 years later and compare where we were with where we are. I don't know if it's good or not, but it's definitely interesting.

Very shortly after meeting Jordan I knew it wouldn't be long before she was being recognized and praised by a much larger audience and in the time since we recorded this podcast she's started touring nonstop, released her first comedy special, and launched a very funny podcast with fellow comedian Ian Fidance. Check her out on Instagram, and Patreon.

Blake Tallent (Sarah Shook & The Disarmers)

jeudi 4 juillet 2024Duration 01:31:44

It's rare that I get to have a conversation where I become best friends with someone recorded, but sometimes that's what having a podcast is all about. I knew when I first met Blake that he was a super cool dude, but it wasn't until this conversation that we realized how much our musical journeys, and tastes were aligned. It was this conversation that made me start thinking about having Blake produce my next record and then a few months later he did produce my next record (more on that later). Enjoy this hang with my bud Blake Tallent.

If you'd like to keep up with Blake, give him a follow on instagram.

Be sure to check out the new record form Sarah Shook & The Disarmers. Blake's guitar work on It Is masterful, and it goes with River's amazing songwriting so well.

Blake has worked with these artists in recent years as well: MYFEVER, MIGHTMARE, Dustin Price, Logan Pilcher, Landry Lowrimore, Supermoon, Weston T. Hine, Pretty Embers, Jalen Reyes, This Frontier Needs Heroes, Charles Ellsworth, FAIDERS, and many others

Wes Johnson of Archive Recordings

jeudi 30 mai 2024Duration 59:22

After a LONG hiatus, we're back! I got a chance to sit down with my friend Wes Johnson of Archive Recording in Salt Lake City and talk about his journey from pre-teen punk to well journeyed ranger of the lands of twisting knobs and pushing faders. Wes and I have been friends for a long time now, and it was great to talk a little bit about his journey!

Clipper Arnold of Red Tank

jeudi 16 février 2023Duration 01:49:32

Hell yes! I'm really stoked I'm getting this episode uploaded in time and even though it's kind of late at night, I really enjoyed editing this episode. Clipper and I had a real genuine conversation that covered a whole lot of ground and I'm just stoked we were able to make it happen.

At a certain point Clipper mentions some writing he did while on tour back in the day, and you can read that HERE!
